Grigory blinks in amazement at the monkey army's sudden appearance and disappearance. "Uhh... Thanks, monkeys." That was weird. Wonder what those little jerks did to piss off all the monkeys in the jungle at once. He moves toward the mountain sculpture and tries to halve one of the little demons with his greataxe... Sense Motive (Favored Enemy): 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 2 = 6 Grigory's dialogue and Intimidate attempt would be held until the strangers are passing him on the stairs, so anyone addressing them before that point would take priority "What's yer hurry anyway?" Grigory asks, holding his spot in the middle of the staircase and forcing the strangers to make their way around him if they want to leave. They either found somethin' good in there and wanna make a quick getaway before we find out they got it, or they're runnin' from somethin' that we're gonna run right into. "If you can give us any information 'bout what's in there, ya probably should do that before ya go runnin' off into the jungle," Grigory suggests, looming menacingly as the strangers near him on the stairs. "Just so we can give ya credit in the history books in case somethin' happens to ya out there." Intimidate: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

"That's one strange lookin' creature," Grigory quips as he inspects the corpse. "It's like half tiger, half badger an' half deer." I just hope there's no more of them things sneakin' around out here. "Nicely done everyone, even if it didn't go accordin' ta plan." He retrieves his errant arrow, aided by the lighted fishing line, and assists the baron with preserving his trophy. Grigory also has a fresh wand of cure light wounds if the party should ever need it.

"This is no good." Grigory mutters as he watches the baron and Ferrus both abandon the plan to blindly follow the Count's voice. Either the Count wants to sabotage this hunting expedition or something strange is going on here. He strains to see anything in the direction from which the distressed screams were coming, hoping his ability to see in dim light may give him a chance to warn the others about any dangers ahead of them. "Kinda cozy up here," Grigory jokes after taking a spot in the southwestern machan with Iladora and Ferrus. Grigory thinks better of coming in close proximity to the snake's still gleaming fangs and instead carefully maneuvers the serpent's detached head into a sack for safer keeping. He stands respectfully as the group honors the dead porter, tracing a spiral over his chest at several points in the ceremony where it seems appropriate, although he's largely clueless as to what the man's friends are saying. Afterwards, as the group prepares to split at the stream, he takes the opportunity to give their benefactor a bit of a hard time. The count's not gonna win much respect from his father-in-law by loungin' all safe and comfy at the lodge while the old man's out trudgin' through the jungle. Their relationship's not my problem, though, I guess. "Mind holdin' onto this 'til we get back so I don't gotta lug it around?" Grigory asks Count Matasanda, holding the sack out expectantly. "Should be done tryin' ta bite now. Maybe one of them helpers can stuff it, or at least do somethin' ta keep it from stinkin' at the lodge 'til I can turn it into a proper trophy myself." Upon seeing hesitation from the Count to take the sack containing the snake's head, he'll instead hand it to one of the porters. "An' watch out fer spiders..." he mutters under his breath as he turns and walks toward the group preparing to follow the stream. "I'm ready when you are, Baron. Let's find this tiger."

Is there a mechanism in the game that would let Grigory attempt to extract venom from the dead cobra's fangs into a vial(s)? And I second Corba's idea of checking the snake's digestive tract for the swallowed porter. "I know it wasn't a hunt, but this is a trophy I wouldn't mind takin' back," Grigory says as he nudges the mother cobra's decapitated head, his chest puffed out a bit more and chin a bit higher than a moment earlier. "Just gotta steer clear of them fangs. Look like they could still poison ya if you got clumsy an' poked yerself."

Grigory grits his teeth and stands his ground, waiting for the split second when the giant snake comes close enough for a taste of cold iron. Keeping readied attack action from before. Probably should have taken a shot with the longbow when I first moved up into this position and then switched weapons. Oh well.

The tiff between the baron and his son-in-law over the spider piques Grigory's curiosity, and the naturally suspicious part of him begins to stew over a great number of matters surrounding their expedition and, more specifically, its financier. All this fancy stuff and he's got no antitoxin of his own? If our knowledge checks reveal the spider bite would threaten life or limb if untreated, Grigory will toss a vial of his own antitoxin to the count. If the baron's assessment is correct, Grigory will keep his vials in case they're needed later.

Grigory does his best to avoid appearing out of place on the ship, leaning or sitting against stable cargo near the center of the vessel so his neophyte sea legs might go unnoticed. At dinner, he listens intently to the stories of their hosts as well as the other Pathfinders before chiming in himself. "First time ta Jalmeray for me," Grigory volunteers during the dinner conversation. "Absalom's the farthest south I've been 'til now." "Had a mission in Varisia with Corgrim not long ago. Then some Society business that wrapped up just before they told me about this expedition." After hearing Baron Bomande recount the tiger attack, Grigory's curiosity gets the better of him. "Never hunted anythin' with a musket before. Wouldn't mind seein' how it's done if we can get you a shot at that tiger, though, Baron. I'm decent at trackin' things down.
