Sorry for my absence, work's been killing me. Finally finished everything though. Greeg suddenly realised his friends had moved into the room. He had been busily picking at a particularly stubborn piece of trail bread that had lodged in his teeth and hadn't been paying much attention for a change. With a sigh at how easily his stomach caused him to lose track of things, the big Goliath followed his friends into the room, readying himself for whatever challenge came their way. Init 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26. Perception 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30. Already used my eagle eyes ability in the last room, which makes it unavailable for this encounter sorry.

Greeg moved in and patted the old rogue on the back, remembering to pull his strengh at the last moment so he didn't cripple the man. "Calm down my friend, we won! Ypou fought like a lion in there, even though the Oni had spryaed acid all over you. Be thankful for the fights we win Don, even the ones where we must mercy kill." He looked around at the disparate group, marvelling at the lack of enthusiams and revellry most of them displayed. A fight was the edge of life and death, the ultimate expressions of nature's rule of survival. If you survived, you proved the better equipped for the plan in nature's arsenal and that was worth celebrating. If you didn't win, well that was why women folk held wakes, really. "Come on me boyo's, lets see of there's anything of use in this place rather than thinking too much on this fight. Then maybe we can stop and have a bight to eat eh!?" He began to look around for something shiny to bring home for Meeren, and maybe something useful for the mission too. Perception 1d20 + 15 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 15 + 10 = 37 (Includes bonus for eagle eyes ability usable once per encounter.

Greeg watched the Oni fall to the holy power of the little dwarf. At the same time, his body flushed with renewed vigour as his companions poured power into his massive bulk. He bellowed in glorious rapture at the feeling, enjoying both the healing and the glory of the battle as another opponent fell at his feet. Looking around the area, he saw the Eladrin ghost drop its weapons but realised he couldn't reach it in time to oblige its request. Instead he moved in and engaged the two sparking spheres threatening his friends. He was momentarily exposed to counter attack, but felt it was worth it for the chance to obliterate the electric pulses. One of the spheres exploded in a shower of sparks under his hammer head, the other seemed to float ponderously up and over the arc of his swing, avoiding the massive blow completely. Move to L10 to be in base contact with both sparks. I moved myself on the map but not sure if it saved. I'll cop an AoO from one of those sparks. Mountain Sweep - Standard Melee; Up to two opponents. 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (19) + 18 = 37, 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20 Vs AC. 2d10 + 12 ⇒ (9, 5) + 12 = 26 damage each I'm now on 121 hit points, and extremely grateful to all those who healed me. Thanks indeed.

Font of Life - 1d20 ⇒ 16 Greeg was hurting badly after that last attack. He couldn't allow the damnable Oni to see it though, so he gritted his teeth even as he called on the nature of the Great healing spirits to give im strength. Shrugging off the stunning effects of the acidic burn, he pushed forwards again to keep the creatures focus on him. "Honestly, you hit like a girl Iji. Try and do better would you, I was hoping for a real fight. He knew this next attack was going to hurt though, and sighed inwardly at his sometimes foolish Bravado. Second wind. I was on 17 HP's after that last attack. Gain back 10 from Kevaras (not sure why Don said 30, but if he can explain that then I'll certainly take them). Assuming just healing surge and the 10 HP's that puts me back on 61 HP's. Still bloodied but Fighting fit. 5 foot step back into base contact with Iji, opening up flnking moves for Don and Kevaras. Going to mark the Oni this time, but mostly as a possbility of the thing changing targets on me.

Font of life save vs ongoing acid 1d20 ⇒ 8 Spend action point to 5 foot step and attack the Oni. weight of earth attack - Standard, Melee. His eyes watered and he could barely move from the searing pain. Clenching his teeth, he drove his great legs forward and swaung the hammer in a massive arc at the blurred shape his enemy left in his watery eyes. There was a satisfying smack of metal into enemy and the Goliath roared his triumph into the chamber, shaking off the pain with the glory of battle. No longer taking ongoing acid and therefore no longer Dazed I believe. I'm hoping that the 37 hits the guy, despite him having cover from the wall. At least I wrote it that way :)

This is what actions I take for my actual Turn Rev. Firstly Font of Life - Roll one saving throw at the start of my turn. If passed, not affeced for that turn 1d20 ⇒ 12 saving vs slowed effect. Greeg shrugged off the sluggishness he fel t after the big Oni had hit him and ran. Calling upon the power of the great mountain peaks, he wreathed himself in frigid air, causing crystals of ice to form around his skin and cake teh floor about him. His breathed steamed from his mouth as he laughed again and called taunts in giantish "You don't get away that easily boyo. Time to pay the piper!" He surged across the room, seemingly dragging the wintery effects with him even as the acid from the creatures breath steamed off his body. The hammer in his hands flared in residual heat from his earlier strike, and for all intents and purposes the big goliath looked like a force of nature itself as the multiple elements combined around him. Form of Winter's Herald - minor action; Take on the winters herald form and add +1 to AC, resist 5 cold. Each square within 2 of me is difficult ground, no matter where i move. Move within range of Oni Form of winter's herald attack - Standard Close burst 1. 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19 Vs AC to everything in burst. 1d10 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19 damage and target immobilized until save. On a miss, targets take half damage and immobilized till end of my next turn. That's a miss (stupid nat 1's) but he still takes 9 damage and is immobilized. Save vs acid 1d20 ⇒ 1 Edit - 2 1's in a row, heheheh. Back to form I see :)

Greeg yells in frustration as the Oni disapears from view and then slams him away. "You big coward! Can't take the punishment from the big boys so you run for the little fellas eh!" He swung his hammer, but the damnable invisibilty made the weapon miss easily. It looked like he was going to have to jog to catch up to the big bugger. OA vs the Oni. 1d20 + 18 - 5 ⇒ (9) + 18 - 5 = 22, Damage 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17 Crippling Crush* - Deal con mod damage to foe that is slowed or immobilized with a hammer or mace attack Sudden Roots - Any opponent struck by an attack of opportunity is slowed.(Note, this will also trigger the crippling crush feat) That's a miss. Also, Greeg is now Bloodied, but still in pretty good shape compared to some
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg stepped into the prone Oni and delivered one of the most powerful blows he could muster. There was something about this evil thing that brought out the big Guardian's ire, and he vented that felling through the heavy metal of his hammer. Ponderous Strike - standard Melee; 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 18 + 2 = 40 vs AC . Damage 3d10 + 12 ⇒ (4, 4, 3) + 12 = 23 damage. Target provokes AoO if it shifts before end of my next turn, even on a miss. Crit damage 3d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 4) = 10 Fire. He also takes 11 damage according to the combat summary. So thats a toatl of 42(crit) + 10(fire) + 11 (extra damage)= 63 damage for the attack. An additional 10 when he stands up. Greeg could probably die happy right now :) As the hammer landed, the big man roared his fury into the Oni's prone form "Come on laddy, get up and fight! You were happy enough picking on my smaller friend not long ago, stand up and fight someone more your own size eh!" As he did so, he strengthened his body with the hardness of stone, calling on the pretective spirits of the Guardian bear and the earth mother herself to protect him agains this things inevitable counter attack. Mark him as a free action Minor action Stones endurance Gain resist 14 all damage TEOMNT

Font of life sace 1d20 ⇒ 16 Earthgrasp Strike - Standard Melee 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 31 vs AC. Damge 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16; If hit, target is knocked prone. Can't stand up until the end of my next turn. First time it stands up, it takes an additional 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 damage. Call on magic of my hammer to put 15 ongoing fire damage to the Oni as well. Greeg shrugged of the staggering blow that had knocked him from combat. Smiling, he stepped forwards and showed the upstart Ogrekin that he could reach as easily with his hammer at a distance as he could up close and personal. The elemental weapon whistled as it travelled through the air, catching fire with the heat of a magma pool as Greeg called on the primal nature of the world to fell his opponent. He laughed in the joy of battle as the hammer struck, knocking the Oni to the ground and setting his hideous form on fire. It was only then that he also realised he was no longer feeling the burn of the creatures acidic breath. "I'm thinking I'll be sending you off to whatever hell awaits boyo. Starting to feel nervous yyet?" Greeg passed his save for onging so doesn't take any this round. Ogre is prone and burning at 15 fire damage till save. Note he can't get up until the end of my next turn, giving a whole bucn of folk combat advantage if they want it, and not threatining now I believe. Edit - Sorry, didn't mention that I only shifted the 5 feet necessary to attack him with my reach. This also means I can't mark him though as he needs to be adjacent to me for that.

Font of life saving throw at start of turn 1d20 ⇒ 2 Greeg coughed and gagged a little as the Acid ate its way into his body. He hated acid. What it could do to stone in seconds, took years for other forces to achieve. This Oni would have to be dropped, and fast. "You need to start picking on people more your own size, Ugly. Like me for instance." He backed the statement up by swinging his hammer, hoping to damage the thing enough to draw its attention from Don and weaken its attacks. Mountain hammerAttack vs AC 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33, Damage 2d10 + 8 ⇒ (4, 6) + 8 = 18. If struck, the opponent takes -5 to attack rolls till EOMNT. Free action to mark the big brute and hopefully convince it to stop attacking Don. Knowledge Nature to identify anyhting about this creature, if that's applicable 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (10) + 17 = 27 Save for end of round (assuming I can take a save attempt for the same effect after failing Font of life. Rev, in my last post I stated I was moving into the room and guarding the entrance to the next area. I didn't give a postion but that's because I was using my iPad and couldn't get the map up. I'd most likely be at the top of the stairs near Don. However, happy to run with your call since I didn't actually specify a location. Cheers
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg moved into the room as well, naturally moving to cover one of the other exits while Don checked the table. "I always find something when I touch objects of Interest Don, try that" he spoke encouragingly. It was true too, he usually always found some type of hidden object, usually a trapped object. More often than not he found it because he accidentally broke what he was looking at as well. People just didn't build their stuff to last it seemed. Should use stone really. He cast his eyes around the other room, making sure they weren't about to be ambushed. Perception 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20. Rev, I have an abilty that lets me add +10 to perception rolls once per encounter. Can I just make that a use as needed for success on the first roll it becomes relevent? I'm not really sure how one spends an ability to spot things more easily.
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg nodded at both Nayce and Guldarin. He wasn't overly concerend which direction they took, as long as they could find their way through. He spoke questioningly to the party "Did we find what we wanted in this chamber?" He was rested now, and ready to again pit his strength and weapons against some foes. So far this trip had proved less satisfying for his combat prowess than he'd like. How could he tell Meeren tales of his bravery and strength when he couldn't even land a blow?! Ah well, he could always add some oomph to the tale when it came to Meeren. She always responded favourably to a little oomph. If we haven't found the key fragment here, Greeg will help search. 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24 I can add another +10 to that roll if necessary, from my eagle Eyes abilty. Other than that, I'm good to go either direction. Following the same general strategy as before i guess. Myself and Don in front
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg was slightly disatisfied at the end of the fight. He had known the king was a mighty warrior, and he had a noble spirit to back that up. The fact he had been used in this way by whatever powers ran this place left the Goliath a little hollow inside. He watched as the others picked over the king, hoping to turn his tragedy to something brighter with whatever gear he was carrying. The Warden shook his head at the stuff, and went to stand guard in the far end of the room in case any other wandering spirits found their way in. He had been saved twice by Don in that fight as far as he could tell. And then Kevaras had healed him of his wounds as well. The Goliath was troubled by how little protecting he seemed to be doing and how much others were having to bail him out of trouble. He sighed, kissed his hammer and swore an Oath to the mother spirits to try harder from this point. Then he began to wonder when they'd be eating again. Greeg came out of that surprisingly chipper. No healing surges spend thanks to Kevaras' lay on hands and Don saved him a huge swathe of damage in round 1. My thanks to all who kept him upright :). I don't need to gear, but will use the gloves if no one else claims it. I think I have more surges than most and a few abilities that can protect me and keep my hitpoints up, so someone more fragile may want them for the fire protect.
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Thought I'd mention I have DR 14 up against all damage at the moment. That should mean I ignore the ongoing damage completely and take 14 damge off every strike on me. By my calculations that,s 32 less damage from the attacks and ignore ongoing damage completely. Let me know if that's wrong please, then I'll update my hp appropriately. Cheers
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg didn't know how to tackle thus fight. Usually he was all noise an d yelling, trying to make sure his opponents kept their focus on him rather than his companions. More importantly, his enemies usually spent their time trying to kill him rather than talk politely and encourage his attacks. He whinced slightly at the burns the kings fiery blood dealt him, but it really wasn't much worse than the magma chambers he visited at home when he wanted some solace. "Nothing personal your Kingness, but I'm thinking the sooner we send you off to rest properly the better we'll all be eh! Also, you might be happy to know that your decendants no longer serve the giants in slavery. They threw their shackles off finally and now live free to craft and mine as they see fit." He shrugged a little in confsion at the way even his talk had become more polite around this spirit. Almost shily he added "Just thought you'd want to know before going off to your final rest" Then he swung his hammer Earthgrasp Strike - Standard Melee 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32 vs AC. Damage 1d10 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9; If hit, target is knocked prone. Can't stand up until the end of my next turn. First time it stands up, it takes an additional 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 damage. Smiling as his hammer finally came to land a blow he could feel solidly, the Goliath turned his attention to keeping his best friend alive as well. He drew on the power of natures stone, shifting the ground beneath Cronins feet. The earth slid his friend back and out of danger from this rather congenial spirit, showering the cleric in a cloud of earthy debris that made him harder to hit as well. Shield of Stone - minor daily, close burst 5: One ally within the burst is slid 5 squares and +2 to all defenses, resist 5 all damage until end of my next turn. Using this one on Cronin, and will let him decide where he ends up if it is alright with you Rav. As Cronin left the danger zone, the big Guardian continued to channel the power of the earth into his own body, hardening his skin and turning his already rugged countenace even more craggy and stone like. Stone's Endurance - (Racial Feature). Minor Action. Gain Resist 14 till end of next turn I won't bother marking him at this stage. Letting Kevaras do that instead otherwise we'll just be playing tag team marker all day.
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg watches the situation unfold with slight confusion. Having watched Cronin get smashed with that huge axe, he was under the impression that Don may well have saved him a world of hurt earlier. Watching Cronin get hurt unleashed an anger within the guardian. With a scream of rage, he called on the might of the earth itself to portal him to the fiery king and strike down with great vengence. Thunder Step - Daily Standard melee; Before attack, teleport up to 5 squares. Attack 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (8) + 18 = 26 vs AC 2d10 + 8 ⇒ (8, 9) + 8 = 25 thunder damage and target is dazed until end of next turn. On a miss, target is still dazed. Even though the weapon missed its target, the sheer rage of the attack stunned the king somewhat. "IF YOU HAVE A GRIPE WITH YOUR PAST, TAKE IT UP WITH ME! LEAVE....MY...FRIENDS....ALONE!!!" The big Goliath hadn't felt this angered since the time the Drow had hurt Cronin the second time he and the cleric had travelled together. Minor action to mark the king Not sure if the dazed effect will negate the feat I have that causes 4 damage even on a miss. If not, please apply that as well I see my dice are playing consistantly again hehe
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg watches his two sneakier friends begin to engage the disgruntled spirit and decides to try and prevent it from getting too far into the room. "I can help you with your afterlife your kingness. My advice, just close your eyes and let my hammer send you on to meet the Lady of Ravens. She'll help you find paradise, or so I've been told." He swung an initial blow, trying to guage his opponents strength Attack 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29 Damage 1d10 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18. If hits then opponent is slowed. Using weight of earth standard attack. If I miss, opponent still takes 4 damage due to feat. Also attacking from 10 feet since I have reach.
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg looks at the man beside and winks in conspiracy. He then takes a moment the check the place over before stepping in. 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (14) + 16 = 30 perception. If everything looks fine then Greeg will indeed lead the way in, taking Don's advice about statues and arcane circles
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
"I'll lead, but perhaps someone good with traps should accompany me." Greeg turns to Don and smiles enthusiastically and states "The trick with dead things is to hit them harder and faster than they hit you. Actually.....that's kind of how I like to approach all my enemies."
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg nodded enthusiastically at Don's words. "Aye, getting into places is something I can do fairly well. I know a thing or two about getting past defenses as well." He didn't mention that his usual method for getting past defenses was to trigger them and hope he was tough enough to survive before they reset. Still, it had worked for him so far.
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg looks at the ghostly figures with some discomfort. Generally, he preferred the dead to stay that way. It was against the natural law for creatures to remain bound to this realm once their bodies had died. "Probably best that you do the talking here Cronin. I'll translate for the others if they insist on speaking giantish."
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg nods at Cronin's suggestion and does just as asked. He walks up to the nearest inhabited looking building and knocks politely. However, his prodgeous strength again fools him and he ends up slamming into the door with a loud boom. It echoes in the otherwise quiet streets, and he thinks maybe some of the paint has chipped on the door. "Ah, anyone home? We're looking to find some of the cult of rebirth, if it aint much trouble" he booms in his politest tones. (Asking in Giant to start with) Was tempted to say we were neighbours looking to borrow a cup of brown sugar, but thought better of it
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
"I think if we walk into a building full of folk who aren't expecting us, they may take it as a bit rude Cronin. After all, we're all pretty heavily geared up here. Maybe if just, i don't know, walk casual like, they will come to us. 'course it won't hurt to be ready for an ambush too." Greeg also looked around, hoping that the locals weren't going to just shoot the all on sight with whatever ranged defense they could must. perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg moves through the sewers, not overly uncomfortable. He had spent times in the outer tunnel systems of his own mountain home and some of those smelled worse than this. Air tended to stagnate in tunnel complexes, particularly near settlements were fungus and legumes were the staple diet. He thought of Meeren for a moment, figuring he wouldnt mind spending some more time with her in a boudoir. He smiled, then returned his attention to the job of keeping his companions alive. Greeg will be somewhere protective. Front or back, he doesn't mind.
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
"Well, let's get to it then" the big Goliath said emphatically. "ummm,... I' ll be needing my hammer and javelin back though please. In case I am needed to help with negotiations and such. I tend to think more clearly with my weapons around. People tend to not interrupt my train of thought as much either. Not sure why really."
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg nods at Kevaras' words and whispers to Cronin in his usual rumbling way "I tend to not get involved in negotiations until the hitting part, eh Cronin! You remember when I had to argue with those Mushroom Men beacuse they wanted to use our water supply to lay spores for their offspring. That didn't work out so well....mostly for them, but the point is I shouldn't be doing much talking if we aren't meant to hurt these folk." He found he was holding himself stiff, his arms locked firmly at his sides to try and stop the wierd behaviour that was going on around him with his companions. Perhaps these Okluhad some kind of mind control thing going on as well and were making his friends act in wierd ways, like puppeteers?
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg watches in bemusement as his companions begin displaying all sorts of strange body movements. Maybe these creatures were emitting a chemical that was irritating his less robust companions which made them scratch and twitch in wierd ways? He coughed politely and asked "Also, have you heard of any Sand giants visiting the city recently. We heard tell of a fella by name of Faez who may have something to do with all of this. Anything you might know about him?" He rubbed at his beanie, then pulled up short realsing he too was starting make funny gestures around these creatures. Apart from that, he was ready to accompany Thiir to see the Cult of Rebirth. insight check to see if Thiir is holding back or misleading us somehow 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29. Mostly just trying out the new knitwear hehe
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg ambled along with the group, looking around interestedly at the gathered creatures. He subconciously placed himself at the edge of the party nearest these things, shielding the smaller members of his new group with the bulk of his body. He whispered to Cronin as he went "You shoulda seen the size of the Queen bug we had to kill. Tough chick, but we took her down. Oh yeah, when we get our weapons back, can you do a prayer or something over my hammer, I think its broken or something. It was like trying to hit with a wiffle bat." His whisper sounded like flint grinding slowly on stone though, so almost everyone could hear it.
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg embraced Croninin a crushing hug when they first met, happy to see his old friend alive and well. He was eager to share the tale of the Trignotarbs but found time and company were against him. When the gate keeper asked him to hand over the weapons, he complied readily enough. "I wouldn't try and use the hammer, friend. I think something is wrong with its balance." He lay the javelin down too, having to do so twice after forgetting to deactivate the returning magic imbued within the weapon.
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greeg looked down at Nayce and grimaced a little. " Ah...I don't tend to do so well at the sneaking side of things Nayce. Mostly I do my scouting by letting things see me and decide to leave or attack, depending on their disposition." He shifted slightly, awkwardly trying to keep his bulk concealed behind the desert rocks while giving his companions some room. "I'll follow your lead on this my friend, but take into consideration that the easiest way for you to sneak with me hanging around is most likely in my shadow" He was trying to be ironic, but just then his shoulder dislodged a chunk of loose rock and it tumbled noisily at his feet, punctuating his point nicely.
Male Goliath Warden - Stoneblessed
Greegnods in agreement with Nayce. He subconsciously went to rub his bald head but came in contact with the warm wool of his cap. He sighed in contentment. "Yeah, lets get back to the others. Gotta tell them what we know, and Cronin's gonna flip when he sees this great beanie. It's just like my ma makes."
