Thanks so much. That clears it up!

Hi guys and dolls,

I really wanted to play a necromancer in Pathfinder 1e, so doing a bunch of
research, the archetype for Occultist, Necroccultist seemed pretty funkie. It should be noted I am starting at 7th level.

However, I have a question about the implements and how they work for this
archetype.

At the very start of the description, it says:

"At 1st level, a necroccultist gains access to only the necromancy school of implements."

My confusion is whether it gets a second school later on in my build? My DM says that I get a second one, and so I took Conjuration. But I am not sure that is right.

Can you guys set me straight?

Here is my build (Done in HeroLab):

Hi there,

Simple question: Can a 1st level Courtly Hunter have a Big Cat as my animal companion? I have a halfling that I want to have ride into town on a tiger on the first day or the campaign. It would be soooo cool.
Thanks for any help,
Graham C.

Hey guys and gals,

I am playing in a Kingmaker campaign as a Dervish Dancer and I find its really
underpowered. I was thinking of multi-classing but I heard that I should not.
I was thinking either Gunslinger Pistoleer, or Alchemist with bomber focus...or just
fixing it.

Anyway here's my build:

Sheba Al-Kazan of Rahadoom
Level: 5, Bard (Dervish Dancer)
Str: 11, Dex: 16, Con: 13, Int: 8, Wis: 19
Feats: 2 Weapon Fighting, Weapon Finnesse, Arcane Strike, Dervish Dancer
Traits: Dirty Fighter, courtesan

She uses two Kukri which is more for flavour than anything. I have a Scimitar
as backup. And a short bow for range.

Any advice would be great,
Thanks,
Graham C.

It looks like your calculations are mostly correct, however:

1. What kind of bow are you using? Is it a composite longbow with a 16 STR-rating? Is it masterwork? Is it magical?

2. The iterative attack(s) in your regular attack and in your FOB attacks are too low by 1 because you forgot to add the weapon focus to the iterative attack(s). Any bonuses from the bow do not appear to be included.

3. Your base damage of 1d8+5 implies a 16 STR-rated composite longbow (+3) together with weapon specialization (+2). I don't know where you are getting the extra +2 for the base damage. Point blank shot will add +1. The damage applies to every arrow you shoot in a round.

4. Note that deadly aim provides a -2 to attack and +4 to damage to your regular full attack (+6 BAB) and to your standard single attack, but provides a -3 to attack and +6 to damage to your FOB attacks (+8 BAB).

5. Note that you can spend a ki point to get an extra attack at full BAB to your FOB attacks, which stack with the extra attack at full BAB that you can get form haste or blessing of fervor.

This is how I tend to think about the calculation:

Full regular attack:
+6/+1 BAB
+5/+5 WIS (zen archery)
+1/+1 weapon focus
______
+12/+7 Total (add +1/+1 if within 30'; add +?/+? for bow masterwork or enhancement bonuses)

FOB:
+8/+3 BAB (monks get full BAB in FOB)
-2/-2 FOB penalty
+5/+5 WIS (zen archery)
+1/+1 weapon focus
______
+12/+7 Total (add +1/+1 if within 30'; add +?/+? for bow masterwork or enhancement bonuses)

From the 5th level to 8th level the math works out the same for regular full attack and FOB because the BAB hit for the regular full attack equals the static -2 penalty for doing a FOB. At 9th level and above, your attack bonuses in a FOB will be 1 greater than for the regular full attack (and the standard single attack) because the BAB for the regular full attack (and the standard single attack) remains at +6, while the FOB attack is at full BAB (+9) minus 2 for the static FOB penalty.

Thanks so much. Yah, I am going for a Composite Longbow 16 Str (so +3).

At least MW, but I am thinking I might be given a magical one (coz my DM is nice that way)

Hey guys,
My Druid drew 'The Void' from a Deck of Many Things and now is a drooling
blob, so I am trying a Zen Archer Monk. They seem pretty cool.

ButI'm trying to get my head around the Attack and damage (and I guess Flurry of Blows) for my Zen Archer.

Here are my stats:
Human Zen Archer 8th level, Favored Class: Monk

Str:16 (+3) Dex:15 (+2) Con:15 (+2) Int:12 (+1) Wis:20 (+5) Cha:13 (+1)

Feats: Alertness, Deadly Aim, Improved Initiative, Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Improved Unarmed Strike, Perfect Strike, Point Blank Master (Comp. Longbow), Weapon Focus, Weapon Specialization (Comp. Long
bow), Dodge, Far Shot, Improved Precise Shot

BAB: +6/+1
FOB: +6/+6/+1/+1

I calculated my regular attack to be:
+6/+1
add Weapon Focus: (+1/+1)
+7/+1
add Zen Archery
Totaling:
+12/+6 or within 30 feet, +13/+7

I am not sure if I am missing anything...

So, with Flurry of Blows:
+6/+6/+1/+1
add Weapon Focus
+7/+7/+2/+2
and Zen Archery
+5 (Wis bonus)
Totaling
+12/+12/+6/+6 or within 30 feet, +13/+13/+7/+7

Now for damage:

Arrows
Base:
1d8 +5
add Weapon Specialization
Totaling:
1d8+7

So would my FOB damage be 1d8+7 for all four attacks?

Thanks for any help and advice,
Graham

Hey guys and gals,

I understand that that the feat gives you a reduction of 1 to the penalty when making a full attack, but what's the penalty?? I can't
find it anywhere!
I don't really understand this because it seems different than
Pathfinder.

Thanks for any help,
Graham C

Starfinder is a Paizo product using rules similar to Pathfinder and a space setting.

Starjammer is a third party product using the Pathfinder rules and a (different) space setting.

There is a good chance that many materials from one will be usable with the other, but while they are similar concepts the implementations will also create some incompatible differences.

Ahh...thanks!

I'm kinda confused...what's the difference between Starfinder and Starjammer?

I haven't had time to read alot about either but they intrigue me.
