I submit Godsalm Aulamaxa. I will rework him.. he was originally built for a RotRL game that almost went under before I ended up taking over as GM. I will exchange my trait "Erastils Speaker" for the campaign trait "Diva in Training. If allowed, I will keep the drawback "Hedonistic" in exchange for the "Charming" trait.

As for the tie in, I am leaning towards "Staying up on Current Events." As a bard, keeping up on current events would be a major factor in being present, and his discontent at having his breakout performance at the Huntress of Heroes so rudely interrupted would spur him to even more discontent.

I can work him up completely later.. I am at work right now and don't have access to any of my materials.

- What is your character's short-term goal?
"Short term goals are for people that do not have the skill to make it big! I am one of the best singers today.. its not my fault the Opera House closed on me! However, since they did close, I will have to go back to busking in taverns and play houses. I will be recognized for my talent!"

- What is your character's long-term goal?
"Well, of course it is to receive the acclaim and accolades I am due! There is no better singer or performer than I, and I will be on the stage with women from all over the world fawning over my crooning voice. I will live in a lush manse, with servants and friends all at my beck and call."

- How would you describe your character in a nutshell?
Although he was raised in the poor quarter of Kintargo, Godsalm has an overly inflated ego.. helped not at all by the handsome looks granted by his angelic heritage and the perfect tone and tune of his voice. Brash, young, and very much a creature of comfort, he often needs a slap in the back of the head to remind him his place in life does not currently coincide with his visions of grandeur! However, I see Godsalm as not just an arrogant pisshead.. he does have a heart and a conscience.. in there somewhere. I can see him being challenged and growing through trial and tribulation into a man that desires the good life, but eventually recognizes 1) Money means little compared to being a good person, and 2) being a decent person means helping others as they helped you. It is not a one way street.

- How would your character describe themselves (in their own words)?
"I am Godsalm.. singer extraordinaire! I make my living with a silver tongue and a sharp rapier. One day, these cultureless heathens will recognize my gifts, and I will receive the accolades I am due. I cannot believe that brute Barzillai cancelled my show! I will show him the error of his ways!"

What do you think so far?

Yea. I messaged the gm a few days ago but haven't gotten a response. I wish I had the time to devote to gming this, but classes are kicking my ass right now.

I am sorry guys, but I have asked the GM to make me inactive on this one. This is just not doing it for me. Good luck to everyone!

No more Gobbies on the map..

As more goblins rush the square, Godsalm begins to sing again, while waving his banner high. This song is about the bawdry escapades of a conquering hero as the towns women practically throw themselves at him. He laughs and calls out "This may well be us tomorrow night!"

ACTIVE BUFFS:
Flag bearer: +1/+1, +1 vs fear and charm effects. Inspire Courage: +1/+1, +1 vs charm and fear effects. TOTAL +2/+2, +2 vs fear and charm.

Can the map link please be added to the header? It will be so much easier than going back to the recruitment tab and finding it every time I want to look at it.

Not sure Who is left, so insert this on my turn.

Godsalm finishes his song with a rousing verse about the unrivaled prowess of Desnian priests and Dwarven stonelords smashing through legions of goblins. Ending song as a free action 6/7 rounds left

As the last strains of his song echos through the square, he steps forward towards the last remaining goblin, waving his flag in the air.
Not doing anything, just flavor and a move action.

Active Bonuses:
+1/+1 Flagbearer, +1 to all fear and charm saves

on mobile and can't find the map.. should any of this proke, let me know.. I would like to change my actions.

With the goblins popping out of nowhere and battle joined, God's am pulls from his pack a large banner depicting different musical symbols.. his personal sigil.. and waves it high as he starts to sing of glorious battles and heroic actions! His pitch is perfect, and his clarion notes float over the battlefield.

+1/+1 for everyone for Flagbearer, and a +1/+1 for bardic performance. 6/7 performance rounds left. Total buffs: +2 to hit, +2 damage, +2 all fear saves

Looking at the group that we have and the amount of RP we have going, I dont think that the problem will be NOT going on the side quests, rather, it may end up being that much harder to keep us on the right path! In the end, I think that it may be up to you to "herd" us occasionally.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Mixed up in more impressions of the speech givers, Godsalm is completely and totally oblivious to anything that is going on around him. When he finally does hear the song, it is just the last few dying notes. "By the gods what was that? I have heard cats that screamed with better pitch than that!"

Who are we missing? It shouldn't be a problem just to bot them if its a temporary thing.. I dont know of many players that would object to that.

As for the xp, I think that leveling the group as we move through the books would be the easiest way to handle things for all parties. Then you (GM) don't have to keep track of who killed what or if these characters participated when etc.

As for myself, sorry for the late post.. today was all kinds of screwed up that ended with a trip to the ER with my son. Gotta love little boys.... *facepalm*....

Also, it may speed things up a bit if you roll the initiative at the outset, and post a turn rotation.

Is everyone present? Could we get a fight in to progress the game a little?

I am in a pretty fast paced RN program through the week. Normally I am good for at least a post a day, and I try to get two in, but generally it will be morning and evening check ins for me.

Is there any way that we can get a link to the map in the header to make it easier to go back and find?

The mouthy bard stops as he is approached by the dwarf. "It will be as you may, sir!" he says with a bow. "I would be glad for conversation and tales over lunch if you are offering?"

Godsalm emerges from his tavern and makes his way to the town square, squinting in the broad daylight. It is mid afternoon, but the lively bard enjoys his late night encores and the willing women that encompass his nights. He strolls through town and purchases meat, cheese, and wine from various vendors. As he ambles along, breaking his fast and shaking off the previous nights revelry, he begins humming different bars and melodies from different songs, trying to warm up his voice. After finishing his meal, he begins to meander about through the crowds, singing out mostly nonsense lyrics and bad puns. As he approaches women he finds attractive, he weaves about them draping arms over shoulders and allowing his hands to wander. This inevitable leads to a stiff slap across the face or angry retorts from jealous significant others, but he laughs it all away and dances off down the street before it escalates further.

Godsalm moves into the town square just as the speeches start. He spends the boring time making impressions of the various personalities from the back of the crowd. Once the Personalities finish and the festivities really get underway, he sets up in a corner by shuffling people off and clearing out a space. He removes his hat with a great flourish and sets it on the ground before him.
"COME ONE, COME ALL!!" he cries "HEAR THE GREAT LEGENDS OF YORE, AND SING THE SONGS OF LORE!"
As people turn and stare, Godsalm launches into a bawdry song of daring do and lacey peekaboo.
Perform Song: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

GM, I have the Hedonistic drawback.. so it really is up to you in a lot of ways if I have a good day or bad! Check my profile for specifics.

Once the song is finished he launches into several more, always dancing about and acting out as he sings along.

As the coins drop into his hat Or dont.. he progresses through his repertoire, finally ending with a great flourish. "I beg the pardons, gentle sirs and ma'ams! but the throat needs wattering, and the feet need a resting. Be sure to catch more of my show later!"
With these words, he tucks his hat away under an arm and strides off looking for refreshment.
