Gloria's eyes alight on a panel, but she doesn't say anything just now.

"Okee dokee... but what do you do specifically to assist us survivors?"

Gloria glances around.
"... you called it, Roland. I owe you a nuka cola."

"Well... Phoenix... we came in response to your distress signal. I can fix hardware stuff but if you have a software thing, the most qualified person is on the other side of this door."

"Sorry!"

Gloria is also in the room.

Gloria looks at the floor.

"You see any tracks in here, hon? Awfully dusty for someone to be trapped in here recently- you'd figure they would disturb this dust at some point, rattling around in here...."

Gloria pats Jack on the shoulder.
"Looks like I still got a thing or two to learn about machines."

The scrapper's eye takes in the dusty reception area, stopping on the box in the corner. Gloria picks up a card after seeing the box is empty. Blowing off dust, she turns it over.

"Thanks for forgetting your card, Harv. What do you say, boys- we want to follow this mysterious voice that won't answer our questions?"

Is there anything I can roll to see if he's lying about just being hunters with bad socio-political opinions?

Gloria sighs, holstering her laser pistol. She mulls over Vulture's proposition.

"We're an awful long way from home, hon. And we only got so much food. I'm not even convinced this kid did anything, besides a misplaced admiration for some idiot with a scary name...."

She shrugs.
"I'd say we just take the bullets outta all those guns and leave him with a knife and a stern warning."

Gloria almost bites her lip, before remembering how fragile it is. These jokers are cut from the same cloth as the raiders that knocked out Rapid Town... she didn't want to fight then, still doesn't want to fight anyone. But if they don't act now, they could kill more innocent people. But she also hadn't seen them do anything, just talk about it...

Do we need to make a check or anything to influence the NPCs?

Gloria remembered a time, wistfully, when she loved talking to people- it was really something that she liked about working at the department store, she got to be friendly with a lot of people in town. Things were different the last few decades, what with looking like a shriveled up corpse. But she had to make a go of it now, or else she'd really start losing it.

So she approached Crayon Levy, the woman Roland cussed out before who had said she was a scrapper.
"How long did you work for the Wrights, hon? Can't say I really like their practices, but they seem like the only game in town if you don't want to be out on your own. I was thinking it might be a good idea to set up some scavenging parties- there's bound to be places that aren't picked over 'round here. You know any likely sites we can set to scrounging?"

Later in the week, she builds up the courage to approach the hunter, Eagle Eye. It's tough to find someone like her that hasn't lost her mind yet, so maybe there's some common ground even if she seems pretty warlike, like the rest of the tribals.

"... Uh, Eagle Eye was it? I wanted to express my condolences, since I heard you lost your husband. Were you both together a long time? Was he... like us?"

Gloria checks out the shacks, shrugging. She's seen worse.

"No shortage of wood, at least. Best we leave it to you Shelter boys to break the news that we're here on your family's doorstep, if what's-his-name from Rapid Town hasn't already."

With the bicycles cutting down on travel time a little bit, Gloria doesn't see the harm in taking a small detour.

I came in late, so I think I'm behind a point or two.

Parapet walls are low, or dwarf, walls that are built along the roof, terrace, walkway, balcony, etc. Parapet walls can also be made from steel, aluminum, and reinforced cement concrete. Below are details about the different types of parapet walls as well as their uses.
Different types of parapet walls
Classification based on Appearance
Based on their appearance, parapet walls can be divided into the following types:

  • Plain Parapet Walls
  • Perforated Parapet Walls
  • Parapet Walls in Peril
  • Paneled Parapet Walls

1. Plain Parapet Walls
The parapet wall plain is a vertical extension to the wall at roof's edge. This parapet is not a specific type, but is designed to provide safety concerns.
Concrete coping is installed at the top and corbels below.
Parapets made of plain material are simple to build and require little maintenance.
The appearance of plain parapet is usually dull.
2. Perforated Parapet Walls
Perforated parapet walls are also extensions of the wall, but they have different opening sizes to suit the aesthetics of the structure.
There are many different perforations, including circles, trefoils and flower shapes. These are all available.
3. Paneled Parapet Walls
Paneled parapet walls look similar to regular parapet walls, but they are decorated with a series of panel designs outside the parapet wall.
These panels can be either square or oblong, but there are no perforations.
Parapets of this type are more popular because they provide a stunning appearance and easy construction.
Parapet Walls in Peril
In the past, the Embattled Parapets were used extensively for castles and forts.
The parapet can be provided with alternative low and high portions as well as perforations. These perforations were used in ancient times by archers to shoot arrows through the parapet while protecting the castle.
Embarked parapets are a beautiful addition to the architectural beauty of these structures.

Classification based on shape and configuration
The shape and configuration of parapet walls can also be classified:
Sloped Parapet Wall
Stepped Parapet Wall
Flat Parapet Wall
Curved Parapet Wall
1. Sloped Parapet Wall
For sloped roof structures like industrial structures or trussed structures, sloping parapet walls can be used.
2. Flat Parapet Wall
For flat roof structures, flat parapet walls are best.
3. Stepped Parapet Wall
For inclined roofs, stepped parapet walls can also be used. As shown in the figure, the wall is built in a staircase-type style.
4. Curved Parapet Wall
For flat roofs as well as inclined roofs, curved parapet walls (also called arched parapet wall) are highly recommended.
Miscellaneous Parapet types
Many modern parapet walls are replacing those mentioned above because they have a dominance in every category, including safety, economy, and appearance.
Modern parapets include parapet with steel railings and fiber-glass parapets.
For a better appearance, you can add glass or steel railings to the perforated portions of perforated parapet walls. These parapet walls are known as composite parapet walls.
Parapet Walls: What are the uses?
There are many uses for parapet walls. They can be used for:
To give the structure an artistic look.
To ensure safety of people when they are on top of the roof and to stop vehicles from falling off bridges.
To conceal and prevent machinery and equipment from being placed on the roof.
To prevent dust from entering the roof through the air.
To stop debris from falling onto the roof.
To stop high winds from reaching the roof.
For military defense measures, perforated parapets are useful.
