If you are willing to ask, then I have to ask, how are you at winning hearts?" Quietly "Playing well with other has never been my strong suit. However I excel at attacking large groups. Still rummaging through the pile Gideon responds to a question none asked, his tail shifts and twitches as he rummages "The philosophical principle behind martial arts is to train so you'll never need them. I'm sure they do plenty of good natured sparing where no one really gets injured. The probably consider it merely exercise and dicipline or some such nonsense. Personally I say nothing is more invigorating than knowing that your enemy will kill you given half a chance, but denying them that chance as you beat the life out of them. Watching the final breath escape their lips and looking them in the eye so they know you are responsible and they were foolish to challenge you. Mmmm. It's a delicious moment. "

Planes 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 "Well, you seem quite prepared. This should do well. I'll just need a quiet place to transcribe and access to writing supplies." ill be spending as much time as possible transcribing spells to my own book Gideon hands his list to one of the crafters. "Just do what you can as fast as possible. I think I'd like to get to work as soon as possible. But not too quick. I've got some of my own work to do. its the list on my character sheet. The same one we talked about.

Thinking a moment Gideon adds. "So long as you have crafters available I suppose I could use a few more items to enhance my abilities. I'll make a list of the lesser things, but the most important and difficult will be my spellbook. I don't suppose you have one lying around that I could use in the mean time while I reconstitute my own?" Gideon attains a scrap of paper and jots down his wish list as he waits for an answer.

Reflex 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9(deflect arrows + creative license) Gideon catches the adamantine staff out of the air and spins it around his body expertly using only one hand. It's an unusual fighting style, but clearly he knows what he's doing. He smiles widely. "This will do nicely."

Gideon examines his new body and looks into something reflective to see his new face. After a moment of examination he asks, "I seem to be in the body of a pit touched (AKA Tiefling). How exactly does one with demonblood blend into a population full of good people?" Thinking a moment, "For that matter if the world is as you say how will we not simply be pointed out and destroyed in force if even a single paladin chooses to detect our aura? Don't misunderstand I'm all for sewing chaos and destruction back into the world, but presumably there is some sort of plan beyond random wanton destruction."

Gideon examines his body as he moves. bending at the waist and stretching his fingers before forming a fist. "This body seems to remember motions that I have never used. It is (thinking a moment) excellent." Turning to the woman. "Are you as angelic as you seem or are you something else? Surely an angel wouldn't bring evil into the world."

Calming himself a bit Gideon again tries to slip free of his bonds. Escape Artist 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 Do we have our spells or no? Edit: Wow my rolls suck. Gideon will keep trying to free himself until someone stops him or he succeeds. Escape artist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Gideon speaks through clenched teeth, though surprisingly calm. "Free me, Wench!" Thinking ::Was that my voice? What's going on here?:: Escape Artist 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15 Lying on the table Gideon begins to take note of how his body feels. He notices an extra appendage. A tail. Straining against his bonds he attempts to look at his tail. In doing so he knocks his head on the side of the table. Not his head...something is on his head, though it doesn't feel as though he's wearing a helmet. He also felt his ear brush the table. It's a lot more ear that he's used to having. Straining he glances down and sees a tail coming from under his rear. He concentrates and it twitches, though it too is securely held in place by a band near the tipped end. ::My skin is brown! WHY AM I BROWN!:: More of the gravity of the situation coming to him ;;I HAVE A TAIL!! WHY IN THE BLOODY HELLS DO I HAVE A TAIL!!:: No longer calm Gideon raises his voice, "WOMAN, Tell me why I am strapped to this table and why by the howling winds of pandora DO I HAVE A TAIL!" Gideon says emphatically.

This may have gotten lost in the recruitment thread, so I'll put it here for easy reference. DM Gear question: I made some edits. I don't need a +1 staff. I can do that myself for short periods of time if needed. I'd like to spend that money elsewhere. here's my gear wish list breakdown. Darksire amulet (4500-creation 9 days) - +5 resists for tieflings, +4 diplomacy evil outsiders + flavorful
Extra -775g pocket money Plus a bunch of mundane crap that I haven't calculated yet. I'll overestimate and take out a chunk of change before game starts. This isn't magic, but if possible I would like an Adamantine Staff (it's auto Masterwork). The cost per the book is 3000 gp.
Is the Adamantine staff do-able?

Shizzle69 wrote: Gideon, you can buy scrolls just as normal. It doesn't take long to transfer them over right? I honestly don't remember. That would work, but it'd be cheaper and easier to just copy them from someone's spell book or to decode someone else's spell book. In other words they could give me a spell book then I could learn to use it fairly easy until I prepared my own.

For equipment I just have a short wish list. Frankly all he really needs is a staff and his spell book and he's good to go. However, he'll be more effective with magic items. Edit: With that in mind how are you going to work starting spell books?
This is TCG. I've got most of Gideon worked out. Feel free to look it over and let me know if there's any RP you'd like me to help with. You said Magus/monk was somehow fitting for what you had in mind. I'll help with that however I can. FYI: This character is kinda badass. With the notable exception of the MAD-ness the two classes mesh really well.
Ramos the Herald wrote: @Gideon: I saw your Kingmaker playthough, and I really liked your character concept! Me too, though his mechanics didn't quite work out the way I wanted them to. I'd have to re-boot him slightly, but the fluff would remain basically the same. There are a lot of applicants and quite frankly I don't want to do the work to re-vamp him unless I get picked. Of course I may just get inspired one day and do it in an afternoon. ;-)
