I guess this doesn't translate so easily into pbp, would have been fun in RL. Oh Geriant's not there yet, Ghost went ahead with Kurgand. Wolves aren't like horses, they don't need to be told that a fight's on
Ghost surges forward tearing into the man with pure animal savagery
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (1, 5) + 9 = 15
confirmation
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
2d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 2) + 9 = 16
Trip attempt1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
Do I even need to bother with the trip?
"Hmm, this is fascinating. I guess you'll have to swim old friend." Geriant says dismounting from the dire wolf's back and reaching up to ruffle his neck fur.
As Ghost lands safely on the other side of the pit Geriant grabs his crossbow And fires at the harpy.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
1d10 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Remember +1 to attack/+2 saves for anyone who can see Geriant
Ghost launches into a desparate jump attempting to avoid the pit.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Will1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
"Filthy harpy, your trick has failed. Time to die wench!"
Geriant stands defiant, drawing his crossbow, his banner waving defiantly.
All allies gain an additional +2 to saves if they can see his banner
Geriant 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Ghost 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Geriant Acrobatics check 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (10) - 5 = 5
Geriant shakes his head grinning as he continues to strap on his armor.
Geriant failed the check
Alert to the danger of his companion Ghost charges forward with a snarl tearing into one of the Ghouls
Attack
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Damage2d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 4) + 7 = 17
Confirmation 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Damage2d6 + 7 ⇒ (4, 6) + 7 = 17
Initiative1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
And this is why you bring backup, right Sheridan?
Heh waiting to find out if I can move

Kurgand August wrote: "Aye Lad...you'd have been like a lobster boiled in a pot," the dwarf tosses out with amusement. "You could say that again."
Geriant shrugs at Jequine and chuckles to himself as he begins unbuckling his armor.
I think that may be the best option.
"Much appreciated," Geriant replies with a nod. Looking at the massive wolf with him he guestures. "Ghost, across!"
The massive wolf charges at the depression, launching into a jump To clear the space.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 not sure what the DC is for a large creature to jump a 10 ft space.
Awaiting any revelations from the others Gerian grins in reply, "No thank you necessary, we're all here for the same reason right? Besides, it's fun to see the look on people's faces when they realize I can think too.
Still grinning he glances down at Jequine.
"How you holdin' up little lady?"
"No idea whatsoever. The arcane isn't really my thing."
"Water." Geriant responds in the silence.
As Ghost freezes Geriant looks at the creature ahead, stidiing up to stand alongside Jequine.
"Speak your riddles quickly, no tricks or I''ll cut you down myself."

Uhm its a white dire wolf, as we discussed in the discussion thread, at least now the map makes sense, I was wondering about that.

Hearing the booming Geriant dashes forward, Ghost at his side skidding around the corner to take in the scene. As he now cautiously approaches he hears Jequine's whispered words.
Geriant listens closely for sonuds up ahead, aware that this time he cannot simply pull Jequine back from danger.
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Geriant also glances at the newcomer's armor, raising an eyebrow but otherwise remaining silent.
Geriant hold his position providing the benefits to his allies and preparing should they need to fall back past him.
If I'm holding the front line, how close am I to the ooze?
"It eats metal? Damn! Ghost pull back!" Geriant yells, dropping the rope and drawing his sword and shifting his stance to face the creature shield first.
Holding shield bash attack for if the creature tries to attack him or give up an AoO. All allied recieve a +1 to attack from seeing his banner, +2 to saves as long as they can see him and the benefits of Duc and Cover feat (use better of your or adjacent ally's reflex save, if thiers then end prone)
Geriant pulls on the rope at full strength sending Ghost down the stairs to face anything following Jequine.
strength check 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Hearing the cry Geriant begins reeling in the slack on the line, bracing himself to pull should the need arise.
"Not a bad idea. Anyone have any other suggestions?"
Geriant follows Jequine, giving her enough distance to scout, byt within easy reach should she encounter danger. At a glance from the knight the large wolf lopes up ahead, guarding the stealthy woman's back wihout endangering her stealthy approach.
Done the modifications, ditched the lance, barding etc, switched out feats to be more of a stand and fight/ charge in hard type of warrior.
Geriant chuckles softly at Sheridan's comment.
"Try getting this out of armor, or fur for that matter," he mutters looking over to the large white wolf at his side. For her part Wraith looked none to happy to have her paws covered in filth either.
"And honestly Jequine, if they don't hear my armor scraping and rattling, then we have nothing to worry about, otherwise all the dark in the world won't help."
He finishes the last statement with a smile and a shrug.

Well, White Plume Mountain is a classic dungeon crawl...there are some quite large areas within the dungeon...and also some areas where a horse may have a bit of trouble passing...Regardless, your inspirational abilities would be quite useful, now if you were a halfling on a dog, it might be easier...
I can pull out some other classic stuff that's not dungeon next perhaps... Can we make the charge stuff work on foot, let me swap the feats and give him an animal companion instead? Call him a "knight" for flavor?
I'd rather that than you change the whole campaign on account of me.
Never really liked playing halflings.
Wait, am I playing a Cavalier in a game where having a horse will be useless? Please tell me the while thing won't be a dungeon crawl.
