Arm yourselves. While you do that, I've still got one trick up my sleeve - they didn't think to grab my boots. Gavie stomps a surprisingly heavy-soled boot on the ground, and illusionary plant roots wrap themselves over her feet and snake their way up her body. She blows a kiss to Sverrir, and a tongue of flame shoots from her hand, coming to rest over his heart.

His wounds begin to knit themselves together; as his wounds heal, they reappear on Gavie's skin, and she suddenly sags and moans in pain. But the roots from the ground beneath her feet begin to entwine themselves over the gashes, pulling their edges together and repairing the damage. After some time, she stands straight again. It's done with. I'm all right, and your friend should be too.

Life Link with Sverrir, Boots of the Earth activated. He heals to 70/73 in 8 rounds and I recover completely in 40 rounds (4 minutes).

Want another taste? Gavie gives another flick of her wrist, and another bolt of lightning arcs toward the man.

I actually prefer Google Maps - I'm often checking either from work or my phone, and Google Maps is easier on both of those. But roll20 is fine if anyone else prefers it.

With a flourish, Gavie finishes her incantation; the halo of electricity around her hands suddenly begins snapping and writhing like a thing alive. With a flick of a finger, the electric beast charges for its prey, St. Elmo's fire dancing in its wake.

Calling a lightning bolt for 3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 5) = 9 damage on the remaining man, DC17 Reflex save for half.

I don't think my round for casting Call Lightning is up yet; they'll need to have a chance to try to interrupt if they're going to.

Oh good. That's the answer I wanted. Keep 'em off me! Gavie begins a slow, rumbling chant in a suddenly deep voice, and electricity begins to crackle around her hands.

What do you guys say, fight or run? From the glint in Gavie's eye, it looks as if she has a plan suited to either situation.

With a nod, Gavie stands next to the bars, grabbing hold near the bottom. As the floor drops out from beneath her, she lets herself fall, catching herself on the now-floating door. Pleased, Kegbane, she responds with a small bow, then turns to Issac. Sorry, mate. Wish I did, but they took everything off me.

After several moments' concentration, Gavie turns to the others with a somber look. I'm sorry - he truly is dead. I've got the ability to link my own flame with the spark in others, give them some of my own energy. But his spark has gone out, I couldn't reach him.

He was your friend? Gavie turns toward the opposite cell. Here, let me try this... She stands and pirouettes in curiously thick-soled boots, then points a finger toward the unmoving form. A small tongue of flame emerges from her finger and shoots to the opposite cell, landing over the still form's heart.

Activating Boots of the Earth and trying to start a Life Link between me and the possibly-dead guy, which should work if he's alive and unconscious, but won't work if he's dead.

May I make a quick adjustment to my hexes (switching my wandering hex from Flame Curse to Life Link)?

You got a better idea? Gavie sulks against the wall, then glances over and sees Isaac's search. Ooh...you do have a better idea.

@Fanguar - Do we have our things with us, or were we divested of everything?

I'll follow the others' lead, unless a guard or someone walks by and there's a chance of sweet-talking us out.

Gavie laughs at Markus's comment. You know what? I just might take you up on that. She goes back to conjuring sparks, staring as they dance from her hands. Either it'll get me some excitement, or I'll learn telling tall tales from some of the best. Either way, works out for me.

Gavie scoffs. Misery - you got that right. Now there's a dead guy a cell over... Peering into the cell for a moment, she sits back against the wall in a huff and snaps her fingers. As she does, sparks flash to life from her fingertips, sparkling in the dim light of the cell. Gotta admit, though, if you blokes are lying, you're doing one heck of a job. Most folks would never cook up something that crazy. The demon gods and the bit about not taking his loot - nice touches.

The slightly bewildered gnome turns to the others. So...anyone mind explaining why I've been locked up in here? And why I've been thrown in the same cell with the guy who just stabbed someone? She backs away from Markus, eyeing him suspiciously. All I wanted was a nice absinthe, with the little burning sugarcube on top, but no, I had to get locked up with a madman...

I think the situation we're in works out for the best for me - I have a perfectly valid reason to be confused as hell with no idea what's going on. :)

10th level rogue - Half orc with Toothy racial trait. He has the scout archtype and spring attacks so if something can be snuck attacked he usually can sneak attack it. When he full attacks he gets a bite as a secondary at -5 but with a flank it often hits and so he gets sneak attack on that as well.

Works well with goblins too. They get an optional racial ability that gives them a bite attack, and the sweet, sweet +4 racial bonus to Dexterity is nice, too. Of course, it means you have to be in the right game to play a goblin.

Probably not a terrible thing, but I'm lawful good and strive for neatness and adherence to the social order. :)

That was the plan - I just wanted to make sure I was in so I didn't clutter up the players' page. :)

Yeah, sorry, last couple of days have been a little insane for me. But I'm here and I should be ready to go now, pending final GM examination of course.

EDIT: Also, is it all right if I go ahead and dot into Gameplay so it's easier to see new posts?

@Fanguar - How do you feel about Boots of the Earth in combination with Life Link? Basically, it lets me heal people to within five hit points of full between fights by taking their damage judiciously, then using the fast healing from the boots to heal it. Basically it becomes an infinite wand of Cure Light Wounds between fights, but it takes longer than the wand would. Sound fair?

I mainly use online references for my material - I have several of the books, but I tend to find online references a little easier to use, especially since most of the time I'm already on the computer anyway when I'm putting a character together. So I don't usually have to worry about errata too much, since they get automatically updated on the SRDs.

I agree it's a pain to try and keep on top of errata with printed material, but unfortunately the only way to keep on top of the errata is to buy every re-printing, and that's a pain too.

Yeah, I always kind of forget how expensive they actually are. In the game I used them, we came into a lot of money really early and had basically unlimited time for crafting and two or three people who could do it, including me. We were all so tricked out...

But in normal WBL games without crafters, 5000 is a good bit of money for a fair while. :)

Errated to match the oracle version, actually. And there was much rejoicing. (Yaaay...)

And I'm mostly doing it for channel anyway, not life link. Unless you guys want me to go for the Boots of the Earth/Life Link hack. It was quite handy on my life oracle, but feels slightly cheesy.

Steal all the loot and generally be a horrible person, got it! :D

By the way, this is my in-progress Flame spirit shaman, probably going with primarily Life spirit as the wanderer so I can have channeling. She's still very much in progress, but I should be done by the end of the day.
