"Well, that was quite an adventure. I hope you dwarves record that you were aided by a goblin and a tiefling and two halflings and a half-elf!... even if one of the halflings be a half-dwarf!" Garzak says. He takes his share of the gold and sets off for further adventures...
"HAH! MELTED YOU GOOD!" he exclaims as the ooze dies... before hiding in the shadows.
Garzak tosses a firebolt at the ooze, attempting to burn it to a crisp.
He scampers away from the skeleton.
But halflings are tasty! Kidding... hope to down one of the foes at least.
From the shadows, Garzak casts a firebolt at the ooze. He then hides again; further this time. "BURN YOU WALKING JELLY!" he says. The firebolt flies from his flames right into the heart of the malicious ooze. Garzak giggles in glee.
For those that are still standing, try to move yourselves on the map. Mobility is a major issue in this fight. Garzak has no ray of frosts but that would be a major help in this one. :P As I said before, if we can move beyond 60' of our foes we might be able to confuse them and make things easy.
Garzak charges towards the ooze and unleashes his remaining burning hand.
"The skeleton can't see beyond a half-blind gnome's throw and I bet the ooze is the same! Get away from them and take them out from a distance!" the goblin yells. "FLY YOU FOOLS!" "And if there be any dwarves hiding in those rocks watching us... I know they don't trust us goblins and demon types... MAKE LOTS OF NOISE!"
Garzak darts into the space between Sashah and Saphina again and unleashes his burning hands once more. However, the flame doesn't seem as strong as before. He then runs back to hide next to the rock. "BURN YOU BEASTIES!" he shouts. Dex save DC 12
Garzak roars in laughter as the skeletons burn.
Garzak jumps forward to the gap between Sashah and Saphina. (Move 15')
fire damage. Burning hands (15'cone) using fury of the small, Dex save DC 12 for half damage. He then disengages as a bonus action (goblin ability) and then moves back to keep away from the ooze and skeletons. "DESTROY THEM ALL!" Garzak shouts.
I guess we should try to stay away from hand to hand with the ooze as much as possible... and the giant skeleton. :P
Garzak fires a firebolt at the skeleton nearest the vault door on the right. He'll then stealth and hide behind the stone. "Let them slowpokes come out together!" he says, his voice a whisper. Smoke seems to emerging from his ears.
"Uh oh... not good... not good..." Garzak says.
Garzak inspects the humanoids and dwarf guards, trying to figure what kind of creature the skeletons are. "Oh my what happened here. Not nice.. not nice.." Garzak says.
Garzak is fine with travelling in the night.
No worries, take your time. Really enjoying the adventure so far!
"Well, now that we rested like Ogre after eating cow, let us go on way and save the dwarves. Hope no more ooze. Like living goober," Garzak says.
Garzak takes the time to study the ooze and see if he can find anything else about the White Well. Else he just stares into flickering flames, lighting something up himself if needed...
"Yeah let's rest. Those oozes be nasty! Me no good with dwarves. Someone tell them slow down!" Garzak says.
"So that's how you do negat.. neko.. talking to people thing," Garzak says. "Well, a few of us look pretty beaten up. At least a bit of rest and drink before we journey to the well? Else we might meet the same fate as the dwarves..."
Oh like you dwarves don't like yer gold... I can't use a suit of armor but I'm still intrigued by this well..." Garzak says.
"Somehow I don't think they're coming back. How many members of the party?" Garzak asks. "And if we do this task and quell the well, what reward would you give us?" Garzak says.
"Well, I am NOT a typical goblin. So the seal around the vault has been broken? Has it been checked this year?" Garzak says.
Garzak looks around the place, to see if there's anything he can pick up from the remnants of the oozes or the dwarves it ate. He lets Saphina do the talking but does introduce himself. "I am Garzak Reddrake! Born of Dragons! Fiery and mighty I am!" he declares.
"Extension of Hadar uh? He is worshiped here?" he declares.
Garzak takes aim at the remaining ooze. Angered, Garzak summons his anger at it. Burn! BURN! Melt! he yells.
Naturally, he continues to hide after attacking.
"Can't you damn dwarves walk without tripping over?" Garjak says. He aims another firebolt at the more wounded ooze. After that he attempts to hide in the area between the fireplace and the planks.
"Foolish halflings! Get away from it!" Garzak shouts. He jumps forward and unleashes a bolt at the ooze.
He tries to hide behind the planks.
Emerging from the shadows, Garzak fires again at the injured ooze, chortling at the damage he's done so far. He then hides again near the firepit, but stumbles into some soot and coughs loudly.
Garzak contemplates firing off his burning hands to fry the ooze, but it's hard to tell where ooze begins and dwarf ends. He snarls, frustrated, then unleashes a firebolt from his hands, striking at the ooze. He tries to stay as FAR AWAY from the ooze as he can.
After that, he'll take his goblin bonus action to hide.
"Bigger guys? Well... not me!" Garzak says. As they approach the village square, he uses his prestidigitation spell to create sounds such as scurrying rats and small illusions of giant rodents in order to draw attention.
"Hmm.. let's look around the village first, shall we..." Garzak says.
"Another halfling... this will be fun..." Garzak says. When they spy the dead dwarf Garzak looks around, suspicious. "Could be an ambush..." he says.
IF he doesn't spy anything he'll try to examine the body.
"That seems quite generous!" Garzak says, though when he considers how much will be split amongst the group he's a little more wary. "So you tried to open the well? And what happened?" Garzak asks. (Insight to see if he's hiding something..)
"What more can you tell us about this Nasreet? Will he have companions with him? And also.. the matter of a reward..." Garzak asks.
"Nice place!" Garzak says. "Don't have a cloak. I keep warm in my own way." And not handing anything over to a halfling, butler or not!
"Nope. Haven't heard about the white well. What is it?" Garzak says, sipping some mead.
"Well, let's go to this manor... you may introduce yourselves later as you wish if you do not wish to follow me," Garzak says. With that, he is off to the manor.
Garzak puts his hand over his pouch and then shows Lawrick the note, watching the halfling very closely...
For Shoun and Lawrick:
Spoiler: The note says "Master sorcerer, you and your two Consortium friends are invited to dine with me at my manor. I have a proposition for you and your friends, one that could result in a fair amount of coin. --Lumin Fetterbond"
Ooh. Interesting. Garzak looks around. He makes secret Zentarim hand signals to indicate that those of his faction should come speak to him. Surely it couldn't be the halfling? And that high elf? Boy they take anyone these days... Grazak thinks, wiping off the breadcrumbs off his robe. When they approach Garzak shows them the note... briefly, and indicating quite clearly that this note was given to HIM, the RedDrake.
"ME! THAT'S ME! REDDRAKE IS MY NAME! YOOHOO! INVITE HERE!" Garzak shouts. He runs up and snatches the invitation.
Garzak nods to Shoun. "Travel guides? Like that imbecile Velo? Vola?" Garzak notices the other new entries to the tavern; his hand going to his pouch when he sees the halfling. He tries to peer over Shoun, looking over at Sashah and what he might be doing.
"You are mistaken... elf. I wasn't shouting at her to berate her; merely to show her who I be. And what are you doing here?" Garzak says, sipping his hot ale.
"NO I AM NOT CURSED! WHAT DO I LOOK LIKE? A HALFLING WITH THE POX? I AM BLESSED! THE BLOOD OF THE RED DRAGONS RUN THROUGH MY VEINS!" Garzak says. He makes the spice ale boil with his Prestidigation spell. He laughs maniacally. "Now get me a fork. Are you expecting me to eat this pie with my bare hands?" Garzak grumbles.
Garzak enters the tavern, brushing away the dust he's gathered. Due to his small size he had been shoved around all day, and he checks his pockets to ensure that the tiny amount of gold he has is still there. He sits on the main table and tries to get the attention of a waitress. "ONE OF THOSE PIES PLEASE AND A MUG OF ALE! HOT!" he says. He looks around to see who else might be here.
