But the Burgomaster is dead! His body lies these ten days in the mansion. My sister remains with him, barricaded there against the zombies." "The burgomaster's dead? That's a damn shame. So, where's the mansion? Either we'll save your sister or we'll avenge her death. Besides, maybe we'll be able to get something out of this deal." He finishes, a mumbled complaint hopefully not overheard by the nobleman.

Then he slams it onto the table and wipes his mouth with his sleeve before answering, "I am, and good luck." "Good. So, do you have any aid to offer beyond well-wishes? Perhaps some information on your father's whereabouts?" Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Garret steps back next to Phenia (how he did that in one step, who knows) and unleashes another burst of light on the zombies. Spatial Trip, teleport to G15, and Blazing Starfall(vs Reflex, I'll let you keep handling the rolls until they're on the map) EDIT: Never mind, I can catch four in a burst. 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 351d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 291d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 221d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 331d4 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17

Immediate Reaction, Swift Parry, +5 to all defenses for C2's attack(so that didn't hit) and it grants me CA. Garret kicks away from the monster that nearly enveloped him in a flash of light before crushing them in a field of force. Blinding Flare vs C1, C2 and Phenia(vs Fort, blinded until EOMNT, Effect: I shift to G11), then use Crushing Sphere on C1 and C2(vs Reflex, Force damage and -2 attack until EOMNT): Blinding Flare: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 191d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 361d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32 Crushing Sphere: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 191d20 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 262d6 + 16 ⇒ (5, 4) + 16 = 25

Phenia wrote: "Certainly interesting. Did they seem unusual to you? Apart from being dead, of couse, which hardly counts." "You mean besides the zombies blowing up and the dogs clawing their way out of the ground? No, nothing at all." Arcana as Perception, do I sense anything? 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Male Halfling Rogue/Sorcerer/Arcane Trickster
Unwilling to get back into melee just yet, Garret points his daggers and another mote of light falls to the ground behind the second dog... Blazing Starfall on C1, centered at H11 so no one else is caught in the blast. (vs Reflex, Radiant damage): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 201d4 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19
Male Halfling Rogue/Sorcerer/Arcane Trickster
Didn't I shift to G16 last turn? No matter. Garret stabs the dog once again before backing away. Deft Strike on C2, then shift to either E14 or the theoretical H17, depending on where I actually am. 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 321d4 + 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (4) + (7, 8, 6) + 9 = 34
Male Halfling Rogue/Sorcerer/Arcane Trickster
"Tinker, get back! I'll take care of this one!" Garret steps to the side and plunges his daggers into the dog's spine. Shift to G16 and use Opening Move on C2(Effect: I get +7 AC and Reflex until EOMNT): 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 18 + 2 = 372d4 + 3d8 + 9 ⇒ (4, 1) + (8, 2, 3) + 9 = 27
Male Halfling Rogue/Sorcerer/Arcane Trickster
"Sorry!" You wonder what he's apologizing for when a small point of light begins drifting into the crowd of zombies... Blazing Starfall on Z5, Z6, Z2 and Z3. I apologize to everyone within 5 squares of them.(vs Reflex) 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 221d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 291d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 201d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 221d4 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17

While we're on the subject, Garret mainly does high-damage area attacks and single target attacks that usually do more damage with CA. I prefer staying at range, but I can usually last in melee thanks to Second Chance, Swift Parry, and if need be I can just get out of there with my Spatial Trip or Blinding Flare. Still, if only one of you is fighting something and I can't use an area attack on it I won't be doing any real damage.

Garret raises his dagger and a small point of light falls to the ground near the zombies. Then, a burst of light and the undead writhe in a close approximation of pain. Use Blazing Starfall on Z2 and Z3(vs Reflex, Radiant damage): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 181d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 161d4 + 16 ⇒ (3) + 16 = 19 Don't you hate it when the damage is higher than both the attack rolls?

"So, just handing it out to the first bunch of travelers who might help? Alright." Garret picks up the letter and begins to read it, a smile slowly spreading across his face "Much wealth, offer all that might be had to thee, My good man, you've got yourself a deal. So, set off to Barovia in the morning?"
You know the good thing about using a character you made earlier in the CB? You can just copy the information right into the alias. Anyway, I ended up being a light controller, since I ended up only getting Sorcerer powers that were area burst 1, so if we somehow get into a situation that I can't use a burst one on the enemies when none of them of being flanked, I won't be doing that much damage. Still, I can do 1d4+16 Radiant damage at will. Bring it on, Strahd. (It should be noted that I don't know a damn thing about Ravenloft beyond the whole "mists bring in rulers, who rule their nations while being tormented in semi-ironic ways" bit.)

"Hey, there's no reason to swim across. Even if you did get to the other side, the rest of us would still need to find a way across. Besides, there's got to be somewhere safer to cross close." "I say we go back to traveling by day. Better chance of someone on the other side seeing us, in any case."
