Kneeling, he grasps the holy symbol around his neck and whispers a barely audible prayer. A purple hued orb of light builds before suddenly pulsing outward in all directions. channels positive energy twice to heal anyone who is still injured. Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 1
He stands quietly and then follows his companions back into the cave.

Gabriel feels his balance shift and he looses his footing on the damp log. He whispers a quick prayer as he feels his body shift and head towards the raging water below him. Dawnflower, hear your servant and grant mercy! A wide smile forms on his lips has he feels the grasp of a hidden hand pull on his waist belt. Miraculously, he feels his center of gravity return and he quickly hops off the slick log. He takes a quick glance over his shoulder and smiles at his savior. My thanks to you Kin'zu His countenance changes as he returns his gaze towards the bullman. He advances quickly and takes a swing with his scimitar. May your abomination of a god have mercy on your soul for I will not! Attack (Scmitar): 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 2 + 1 = 21 Attack (Scmitar): 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 2 + 1 = 19 Confirm Crit Damage (Scmitar): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Glancing towards the raging water below him, Gabriel is awash with feelings that his life now hangs in the balance. Motivated by the sounds of battle against his companions, he attempts to get back on his feet. He tries to keep his arms from flailing too much as he attempts to stand and cross the river. Acrobatics: 1d20 - 6 ⇒ (12) - 6 = 6
Male Human Cleric 1
Gabriel winces when he spies the log over the fast moving stream. He whispers a quick prayer before stepping onto the log. Dawnflower, you test my faith. Please guide my steps over this obstacle. Acrobatics: 1d20 - 6 ⇒ (12) - 6 = 6 He slows his pace to a crawl in an attempt to mitigate the weight of his armor as he crosses the log.
Male Human Cleric 1
Gabriel quickly makes his way over the log and prepares to attack the Bull Man. Glancing at Havelockk If you are going to use that wand... now would be a good time. Dawnflower, I ask that you grant your favor and empower my blade. a pale purple light envelopes his scimitar for a brief moment.
Male Human Cleric 1
While they travel down the corridor, Gabriel quickly drinks the potion of barkskin. Once they see the beast attacking their halfling guide, he tries to follow his fleet reptilian companion but he cannot keep pace. Dawnflower, I beseech your favor and protection on my fellow companions.
Male Human Cleric 1
Gabriel takes the amulet from Kin'zu and gently slips it around his neck. Thank you for the gift. As you mentioned, I have been put into several humbling positions as of late and any extra protection is welcome. He quickly draws his scimitar and nods towards the passage that Tsukai went down. It appears that our guide requires our assistance. Let's not tarry here. He quickly follows after Tsukai as he prepares to defend their guide.
Male Human Cleric 1
His eyelids flutter uncontrollably as the healing energy washes over his body and he sits upright with a look of terror on his face. After seeing that the dire situation around him has been resolved, he lets out a long sigh of despair before looking at his traveling companions. Nodding his head towards Kin'zu Thank you for attending to my wounds, they were worse than I expected. He hangs his head in shame for a brief moment before forcing himself to lift his gaze towards the company again. I do not know why the Dawnflower removed her protection and power from me in the face of these lost souls but that is something that I need to search my soul about at a later time. I still have the ability to heal if anyone else is injured. If everyone is fit to travel, then I suggest that we continue forward since our mission is based on the rising moon.

Gabriel was attempting to heal Gabriel pushes his shield forward to block the rotten flesh fist. He pivots and brings his scimitar across his body to attack the undead fiend. Actions: Attack (Scimitar): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Damage (Scimitar): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Male Human Cleric 1
Rising to his feet and drawing his scimitar, he prepares to slice at the undead fiend. He forces a weak smile as he responds to Kin'Zu. Do not let a weak vessel conceal the power of the Dawnflower. My failings are my own and not hers. As my priest sometimes told me... She helps those who help themselves. If he has any actions left, he will attack. Attack (Scimitar): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

GM: Gabe was attempting to heal himself with the channel energy action. I included the DC for the zombie since the positive energy pulse affects everything within 30 ft. If our attackers were anything but undead, it would heal them too but since it was undead it would have possibly been damaged which is why I provided the DC. Channel Energy (Su): Regardless of alignment, any cleric can release a wave of energy by channeling the power of her faith through her holy (or unholy) symbol. This energy can be used to cause or heal damage, depending on the type of energy channeled and the creatures targeted. A good cleric (or one who worships a good deity) channels positive energy and can choose to deal damage to undead creatures or to heal living creatures. An evil cleric (or one who worships an evil deity) channels negative energy and can choose to deal damage to living creatures or to heal undead creatures. A neutral cleric who worships a neutral deity (or one who is not devoted to a particular deity) must choose whether she channels positive or negative energy. Once this choice is made, it cannot be reversed. This decision also determines whether the cleric casts spontaneous cure or inflict spells (see spontaneous casting). Channeling energy causes a burst that affects all creatures of one type (either undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric. The amount of damage dealt or healed is equal to 1d6 points of damage plus 1d6 points of damage for every two cleric levels beyond 1st (2d6 at 3rd, 3d6 at 5th, and so on). Creatures that take damage from channeled energy receive a Will save to halve the damage. The DC of this save is equal to 10 + 1/2 the cleric's level + the cleric's Charisma modifier. Creatures healed by channeled energy cannot exceed their maximum hit point total—all excess healing is lost. A cleric may channel energy a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. This is a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. A cleric can choose whether or not to include herself in this effect. A cleric must be able to present her holy symbol to use this ability. I believe that Gabriel should have recovered 2 HP and the zombie saved so no damage to it. Am I reading that right?

His eyes flutter for a brief moment and the sounds of combat are muffled as if he is hearing underwater. His pulse quickens as the environment starts to sharpen and the warmth of the healing energy ebbs from his body. Instinctively, he reaches for the colored disk that is suspended from a golden chain about his neck. His fingers grasp the object tightly as cry of pain involuntarily escapes his lips. Dawnflower, hear the cry of your servant and grant mercy! He whispers another prayer that is inaudible to those around him but a shaft of pale light appears out of nowhere and strikes the holy symbol in his fist. A bright circle of purple light pulses from the fallen cleric and envelops everyone in the area. Channel Energy (Positive): 1d6 ⇒ 2 DC is 11 for the undead.

Gabriel moves into the small cavern and raises his open palm towards what he believes to be the eastern wall. His lips move in a quick prayer and he brings down and he turns his palm over and his hand in a quick motion. Once his hand is level with the ground a circular wave of purple hued energy pulses outward towards the undead monstrosities. Flee before the holy light of the Dawnflower! Turn Undead: Calling upon higher powers, you cause undead to flee from the might of your unleashed divine energy. Benefit: You can, as a standard action, use one of your uses of channel positive energy to cause all undead within 30 feet of you to flee, as if panicked. Undead receive a Will save to negate the effect. The DC for this Will save is equal to 10 + 1/2 your cleric level + your Charisma modifier. Undead that fail their save flee for 1 minute. Intelligent undead receive a new saving throw each round to end the effect. If you use channel energy in this way, it has no other effect (it does not heal or harm nearby creatures). Save (10 + 1 + 2 = 13)

Upon hearing the confirmation of the undead, Gabriel sheathes his scimitar. Grasping the holy symbol around his neck he forms the words of a silent prayer before speaking to the rest of the company. The light of the Dawnflower can release the souls of the undead. While it can be resisted by the darkness, I believe that this is the best path for me. I will enter first and call forth the holy light of Dawnflower, if that is acceptable.

Gabriel shields his eyes as the cavern passage is bathed in the bright light from Arklore's spell. He quickly whispers a prayer of renewal for the light on his shield upon seeing the flare's brilliance fade as quickly as it came. He nods upon hearing Arklore's words of caution. I agree the foul odor could be an harbinger of death. I am part of the Order of Aster and I have been trained to assist those that linger after death with obtaining the rest they seek. I carry the light of the Dawnflower to guide their path. Regardless of what lies ahead, I am prepared to defend our company. May the light of the Dawnflower protect us all.
Male Human Cleric 1
Gabriel offers the woman a sincere smile. I will stay close to you throughout our journey together. If we get separated for any reason, call out to me and I bring the light of the Dawnflower back to you. I guess we should wait here for the return of the sorcerer. He whispers a brief prayer which strengthens the dimming light on his shield.
Male Human Cleric 1
Gabriel's eyes widen slightly as Arklore wanders off towards the gillman. I pray that the halfling's assessment of the gillmen is correct and that we are not perceived as threats or trespassers. he glances towards Kin'zu upon hearing her question and whispers his response. Well, I guess that anything is possible although if it were truly Aroden in those reliefs, I am sure that his followers would have built a temple here. my guess, and it is only a guess, is that the relief's depict the history of the local denizens some time ago; as you suggested. It would certainly take more time to study them, in a brighter light, if we wanted to glean more. Actions: Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Gabriel looks from the pit to Kin'zu and then finally at the rope. If you want to go down into the pit, I will use the rope lent by Tsukai to assist your descent. He ties the rope around his waist and then hands the other end to Kin'zu. Just call out when you are done and I will pull you back up.
Male Human Cleric 1
Gabriel moves forward to look into the pit. Hmm.. It does not appear that original owner of, whatever that is on the cave floor, is down there. I would assume that if it had value, they would have taken it with them when they left. Perhaps it is a trap meant to lure us down towards a beast that is hungry. As it is often said, curiosity kills the cat. I am open to someone investigating the item but I would suggest only one go down and the rest of us prepare to defend them if things get ugly. Looking across the pit towards Tsukai. You said that you found a makeshift bridge on that side, can you swing it into place so that we may cross? I certainly do not possess your athletic ability; your jump was quite impressive.
Male Human Cleric 1
Gabriel stumbles along the pathway but he gets more concerned the further they go in because of his inability to see even his hand when placed in front of face. He lets out an audible sigh of relief after Kin'zu creates the light orbs and he stoops onto one knee and bows his head. Dawnflower, hear thy servant and grant me favor. I ask that you send your light to guide our way. As he prays, the sun on his shield starts to flicker and emit a soft radiance. Soon the sun relief on his shield is glowing so brightly that it lights the entire passage as if he was carrying a torch. he casts his light Osiron

His eyes go wide upon seeing the bull headed man burst through the undergrowth. He wastes no time heading for the cave entrance after Janira's command. Once inside, he picks up the bag dropped by Tsukai and starts to take an inventory. I pray that our guide still lives and she makes it back to us unharmed. Let's see if there is anything that can help us in our mission.
Male Human Cleric 1
Gabriel looks down at the weeping puncture wounds on his arm upon hearing the offer of healing by Kin'zu. He smiles at the cloaked woman as he responds. I told you that everyone had unique gifts and skills to offer our fellowship; I would be honored to accept your gift of healing. I will certainly return the favor some day but I hope that day does not come too quickly. He watches in amazement as the wounds on his arm seal over at the release of the magic. He glances at the two small pink scars that reveal the location of the wound and nods. You are quite gifted. There is certainly more to you than meets the eye. He turns from the woman and drags his scimitar blade across the grass removing any remnants of the now deceased beast. He scans the area looking for any signs of movement that might indicate that more adversaries are about. I hope these are the only ones lurking nearby. That jump was amazing! It was barely visible in the distance and then it was landing on my head. Thanks to Sarenrae for her protection and providence.
Male Human Cleric 1
Surprised by the tremendous leap exhibited by the beast and the sudden pain from the bite, Gabriel cries out in a bit of an uncontrolled terror. Aggghhhhhh.. by the hells! Turning on the beast, he swings his scimitar in a wide uncontrolled arc at his assailant. Away with you... Get it off!: Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Attack (Scimitar): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Confirm Crit (Scimitar): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 Damage (Scimitar): 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Male Human Cleric 1
The silent young man seated at the front of the room turns his head upon hearing the hiss of the strange creature behind him. His eyes widen a moment before relaxing a little. This is certainly unexpected. Glancing between the lizardman, Janira and the door that Master Shaine just exited, he seems as if he is considering running after the Master of Scrolls. He closes his eyes as his hand covers the wooden disk hanging about his neck and his lips move ever so slightly. After a moment, he regains his composure and addresses the party. My name is Gabriel Angelos, servant and acolyte to the Dawnflower. I offer my services and divine gifts to this group as we start our confirmation process. Looking at Tsukai and then to Janiras. A good questions that. Will the Pathfinders offer us any traveling provisions? Also, since you were already at these caves, do you have a map of them and the surrounding area? |
