Hey Chem, I see you're still at it and doing a fantastic job! However I came across an interesting bug in my version of the sheet (5.3 F) and just checked and its still in 5.4n (both Excel) During one of my sessions we noticed that orphanages were giving potion in the magic item slots. After some investigation. We figured out that it was cause we had the buildings tab sorted by loyalty ratio and not alphabetical. When we went back to alphabetical it fixed the issue. I think the problem is that your formulas are referencing absolute cells as opposed to relative cells. But honestly I didn't dig that deep. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks again for all your hard work. Our game is coming up on a year and wouldn't be possible without this great project. I can't sing your praises high enough. Keep up the good work. EDIT: I'm not expecting this as a priority but I just felt the need to let you know. Cheers.
I know this is nit picking. But since I've had players question me on it, I thought I would bring it up. The faction page here: http://paizo.com/pathfinderSociety/factions It lists the old season 5 factions. I was wondering if it was possible to update that information with the new season 6 Factions. Thanks for all your hard work.
Sounds great! Keep up the good work. I'm looking at using the UR sheet for my game. I was wondering if it is in a usable state or should I just use the UC one and wait for you to finish. I understand you have other priorities and this is not meant to push you in any way. Just trying to get a feel for the progress of the project so I can make the best decision for my group.
Fromper, I know what we are running on the 18th. Since it's ACen weekend, I'm not expecting as many players as I know at least 4 will be at that convention. Hence, I will be only running 2 tables. Rene will be running QFP part 3, and due to my schedule changing again, I became available, so I will probably be running gods market gamble... but that's not set in stone just yet. I send out a weekly newsletter for our lodge with upcoming games and info on society. If you would like to be added to my mailing list, please PM me your email address and I'll add you to it. I'm actually in the middle of crafting this weeks right now.
Well, we had a fantastic turn out last week! We actually ended up running 3 tables. I do want to make this quick announcement. Starting May 25th, we are expanding our time slot from noon-4 to 11am-4. Partly to be more inline with season 5 requirements and partly so that we have a bit more time before yu-gi-oh starts at 5. That being said, the sign ups for this week have been posted here. We will be running: 3-19: Icebound Outpost
Hope to see you all there at noon!
Right now the focus is for getting the 2 retiring factions PC up to the right level to participate in their endings. Once they have finished those and season 5 has come around, we will attempt to stay current with season 5 but also be jumping around all the other seasons as well. yes we ran frostfur 2 weeks ago. As for Icebound, Go for it! Do you need anything from me Mike?
Well The current plan is wrap up season 3 with QFP. Followed up by a jump to season 4 to wrap up my players lantern and shadow lodge characters. Mike pick a Season 3 scenario, preferably. If you look at the event page, it currently lists everything we have played to date. If there is a season 4 scenario you really want to run, just let me know so that I can set up cows. Our player base is all between 1-2 right now... some are coming up very close to 3.
Ok, so recap, cause now I'm Super confused let me lay out my schedule and see if this changes things for you guys at all. Cause I just looked at my schedule and got my dates mixed up. Coming up on may 4th is Quest for perfection part 1 & Goblinblood dead
I'm terribly sorry for the confusion it's been a very hectic weekend and past week. And I got a little bit ahead of the curve and flew off the track. And to answer Mike's question, We run from noon to 4 or so. I will be there by 10am. Mike, If you wish to GM QfP 2 or play, you are welcome to. I feel terrible for mixing up my days, but lack of sleep will do that to you.
There was some talk about organizing something... but it was a bit too late with too little feed back. We are talking about doing it for ACEN 2014. I don't have all the details and probably won't till it's much closer to next year. If there is any PFS at this years, I feel it will be impromptu. Feel free to PM me with any questions.
For those people who are following this. Event details have been updated. http://paizo.com/events/v5748mkg0abj3 Signups for the 20th and May 4th have been posted. Please be aware, There is no game on April 27th. The store is hosting it's magic pre-release, and as such will be using the room all day. Also, when you sign up at cows, please be aware, there are always 2 tables listed. The second is just listed below the first and you need to expand it, by hitting the little arrow. May 4th is also the start of a 3 part series of adventures. Should be fun! Hope to see you all there!
For anyone who hasn't signed up yet. We still have a few openings left. and game is in 2 days! I hope to see you guys there. Also, signups for next week should be going up sometime today. It will also be 2 tables of first steps part 2. Mostly because all the players are doing part one and I figured I could finish the intro series before running separate tables. Thanks again for all your support guys!

I hope that relieves your fear about the economy. there will be ways for money to leave the economy. I had this fear earlier. But this explained it quite well.
Wow! it's great to see so much interest in this! I would love to have you all there! I wanna see how it goes the first week before I figure out how many tables I may need. @Valmoon - I have thought about it. Let me get up and running first before I decide if I'll be running Adventure paths. At the current moment, there are no plans for it. @Mike Mistele - We would be glad to have you. And tell your friends! @thunderspirit - I would love to have you. I hope to see you the week after. I will be at the dice dojo tonight to chat with the GMs and promote my game. If any of you will be there, I would be glad to answer any questions you may have. I will post any updates I have here as I get them. Is there any scenarios you guys want to play? Let me know, I'll see if I can run them.
Here is the Paizo link to the event: http://paizo.com/events/v5748mkg0abj3 In the event description there is now a link to sign up for games. If you guys have questions or advice. I'm all ears. I don't know if I need to book a second table and what to run on it. We shall see what the numbers start saying. Still have a bunch of time to get this up and running.
A brand new Lodge is opening it's doors and is actively seeking members to risk their lives to explore the world of Golarion all for the cause of wealth, power, and fame. Gamer's World - Woodfield, is the proud new home to the Woodfield Lodge of the Pathfinder Society. Adventures start at noon every Saturday and tend to go till 4 or so. Whether you are have been with the society for years or are fresh and eager to make a mark in the world, come join us. Your epic journey is just a dice roll away. Our first game is the 23rd of March. I hope to see some of you there!
I agree totally with Bluddwolf. That was one of the strongest drawing points of EvE to me. What you did mattered. Whether it was protecting someone else or dieing, there were severe consequences to whatever you did. Death should have meaning and it should be stressful to avoid it. Not just an inconvenience, but stressful.
mdt wrote: You don't cast the spell and say 'I want to speak druidic', you cast the spell and you can understand and speak to someone else. Until they speak, the spell doesn't know what language to 'reply' in. I would disagree, I feel like if you have heard the language at least once, you should be able to pull it off. It does state that you can only speak one language at a time. So what is preventing you from choosing that language?
After reading the full spell description. PFSRD wrote: This spell grants the creature touched the ability to speak and understand the language of any intelligent creature, whether it is a racial tongue or a regional dialect. The subject can speak only one language at a time, although it may be able to understand several languages. Tongues does not enable the subject to speak with creatures who don't speak. The subject can make itself understood as far as its voice carries. This spell does not predispose any creature addressed toward the subject in any way. If it were me running the game. I would interpret it as MDT has stated, and because you are actually speaking in that language, I would allow tongues as a viable way to speak command phrases in an unknown language. However, any character who observes him activate the Magic Object, can eventually learn to activate it. You don't have to understand a phrase to mimic it. Though it might be hard to make sure you got it right without a coach. That's my interpretation anyway.
I would like to see some sort of more sever consequence for death as well. Something like what we had in EVE. If your clone wasn't up to snuff, you would lose training time. That was on top of the ship you would lose. So, now you have to completely re-equip and you have lost of the training time due to your failing to have a good enough clone. And then you had to buy a new clone. Not to mention, you resurrect where your clone was, and if it's on the other side of the game... well, you're out of luck. So there was a huge financial penalty for death, as was there a risk of a time penalty for death. That was sufficient motivation to not die, and in some case, to specifically go after killing players. I would love to see something similar in PFO.
I already have 5 copies of the Guide to organized play Printed. Since I'm new to PFS or living campaigns in general, is there an over arching story that each season builds, or is it mostly stand alone sessions where there is no prior knowledge required to run? Also, when you say new players are you talking new to PFS or new to pathfinder? Cause a lot of my players are experienced pathfinder players but never played PFS.
I don't know how much I'm going to actually play. I plan on just showing up and learning and asking questions. I might jump into a game with a pregen. But I'm coming with lots of questions. I guess I can ask them here...
Let's start with those.
thunderspirit, Thanks for the offer, I might just take you up on it. I'll be sure to send up a flare when I get everything ironed out. Rene, I'll hopefully see you at DD on Monday. I'm having someone switch my on call time for the day so I can swing out there once. I'm shooting to be out there by 7. I get off of work at 6 so should be a fun drive. Also, I will probably run the First steps cause it will allow people to choose their faction at the end of it, as they get a base intro into the factions. What did you mean by having the store owner do something for the GMs? |
