![]() -What is your experience with roleplaying games and, in particular, the play-by-post format; I have about 25 years experience in RPG's, as far as PbP goes, I have loads of experience as a GM, but rarey get to play. -What is your favourite character class; If we're talking CRB, It would be either cleric or rogue.
Spoiler: Elindra had been awoken in the middle of the night by two elder acolytes, taken to the council chamber and left alone. Noone had said a word.
She waited there for what she estimated to be roughly an hour and a half in the pitch dark before she'd heard three figures approaching. She'd been grabbed by two pairs of forceful hands which had ripped and removed her clothing, covered her in an unknown, sticky and pungent substance, and then forcefully lifted her off the ground. Elindra had to fight her instincts to defend herself, knowing that this must be some kind of temple trial. Finally, a voice spoke: "She is ready" There was no doubt, it was the mistress of novices. Elindra sighed in relief. The relief faded however as she felt a sharp pang in her buttock. A dart? Poison? Before she could focus, she felt her consciousness slip away. Elindra found herself awakening in a small clearing in the woods. She was still naked, and smelling strongly of what she now realised was bear musk. That was a problem. It would attract bears, but it would warn any prey animals of her presence. She found beside her a whip, Calistria's chosen weapon, as well as two small daggers. Underneath them was a small piece of parchment upon was written simply: come home, you have five days. With no idea where she was, Elindra's first move was to find water, she discovered a small stream where she washed off the smell, then she quickly oriented herself. First step was to obtain some form of clothing, food and something to carry water in. ![]()
![]() As the adventurers are talking amongst themselves, the bells of the town hall start ringing, signifying that the call for heroes will soon start. The few regulars in the bar get up, and slowly start making their way across the street to the big hall where petitioners will officially request the adventurers' help. ![]()
![]() Since the Breachill Town Council has been holding monthly Calls for Heroes for decades, a fair number of local traditions have built up around the event. One of the most adhered to is the visit to the 'Wizard's Grace', a popular local tavern. It's a great place to scope out the competition, schmooze with prospective hirers, or simply just have a stiff drink to work up courage before going into the town hall. In times past, the Grace would be brimming with both adventurers and those in need of such, but in recent months, things have been rather quiet. Today only finds about a dozen people inside, and three of those are staff members. Six adventurers, including yourself seem to have answered the call. A varied bunch to say the least, in ancestry, attire and outlook. Please feel free to introduce yourselves, describing your character. The smell of Boar stew and lentils, the traditional meal served to prospective adventurers is filling the room. As Trinil Uskwold, the owner of the Grace sees the days catch of adventurers is light once more, she sighs. Then she walks in towards the kitchen in the back, coming out a few minutes later with half a dozen plates of stew. ![]()

![]() Dex fighters are still somewhat held back, hopefully the new APG will change that. I'm very happy to see the characters develop already. Don't worry too much about overlap, play what you feel is how your character should be. With six players the challenges shall be somewhat bigger of course, but there will be overlap and that's perfectly fine. I'll start the gameplay thread tomorrow, but feel free to take a few days to tweak your characters. ![]()
![]() Sorry for forgetting to link this thread, but everyone seems to have found it. Eline did indeed not apply through the forum, but came in through other channels. She is playing a sorcerer, elemental I believe, but I'll let her speak for herself. I've also had a last minute application by PM I missed which I felt would make a nice addition to this group. Harley who is a Rogue (thief) I like six players better in PbP as it gives more options for RP, and also if someone needs to step out for a bit, it'll be less impactful on the group. I'll start the first post soon, after that I'll wait for everyone to post before continuing. Any questions or comments, please let me know. The discussion thread is up. If people would like to form connections before the adventure, please let me know so I can work it in. If you don't have a reason for being in Breachill yet, check the player's guide for ideas ![]()
![]() Okay. I have looked through all the applications so far. There were 11 in total. After much weighing I've decided to do two tables. Table 1 will run in this campaign. This group will consist of the following: Saleem Haladi
Feel free to start posting in the discussion thread. Please leave the gameplay thread empty for now. Table 2 Will play in another campaign which I will link here ASAP
