Khloey looks about as you all leave the building. She takes a moment to figure out where she is, looks off, points, and runs towards her destination. Given that there's no real 'residential' area of the large town, there are a lot of homes, taverns and apartments mixed in with businesses. She leads you zigzagging through the streets, losing her way once and backtracking. Having led you originally to a small bar, she turns around and heads down the opposite street, where in-between two medium sized houses, she runs into a small cottage. Following her in you see furniture and papers overturned, some cloths that were torn apart in the rampage. Her home is completely wrecked, and upon seeing this, she is struck with shock. Her movements are slower now, taking in everything that she used to know now destroyed. She moves towards the back of the cottage where one room sits. There are two beds, one larger than the other, and a dresser. This appears to be a room that she shared with her parents. She starts searching through the wreckage, and shortly after pulls a small, lightly decorated wooden box from under the broken bed frame. Khloey hands the box to Zhan. Inside is a letter that details the living will of her parents. It includes the godparents who live in Camden, with directions, as well as alternate options. It's noted towards the bottom of the page, that if transfer to Camden is not an option, there are several smaller towns of trade between Eastwall and Camden, where the Magistrate can take temporary custody of Khloey, before transferring her via military guarded travel, with other orphans.
Do note, that it is also labeled that inclusion of this living will merits immediate transfer directly to her godparents, with exclusion from an orphanage.
Khloey sits in silence for a moment, as you all speak about her situation. When she hears Simon speak of a Church, she gasps. "No! They'll treat me like a Devil, or worse. They'll try to exorcise me if you tell them what happened. I can stay out of the way if I come with you, honest.". It seems strange to all of you that a girl her age would have such an opposition like that to a church, but you're mostly aware of how churches treat survivors of these kinds of encounters. Simon and Zhan more so than the rest of you. A moment of scared silence later, Khloey gives you all a look of illumination. "My home! Momma and Pa told me what I'm supposed to do in an emergency. They left a box for me if we ever got seperated."
You can make a perception check if you'd like. Difficulty would be a 15 since it's out in the open, but a small object.
Khloey looks up at Kiwyn when she wakes up, smiling and greeting her with a hug. She follows Kiwyn to where breakfast is being made, and greeting everyone with a perky Good Morning. She looks curiously at Robert and Simon who're both in conversation about her.
Each of you take your shifts with no trouble. The night is quiet, the town unmoving. As you all keep watch over each other, there is little to notice, other than Zhan and Simon move around more than the others in their sleep.
When the morning comes, everybody who awakes finds a fresh smell in the air. A new breeze. The events of yesterday seem to have washed away, and although fresh in your mind, the prospect of continuing your journey gives you all renewed spirits. Looking out into the town, there is no movement, or commotion. It appears that you are still the only ones present. The assaulted city, and dead bodies littering the streets are only a remnant of the past.
Currently, there is the matter of Khloey, The Brotherhood, the Blood of Mystra, your next destination, and the whereabouts of the people of Eastwall. It's about 7 a.m with plenty of time for flexibility.
Kiwyn, and the chest:
Inside the compartment is a gold amulet that radiates magic. There are five empty slots along a circular pattern near the outside of the golden piece. In the center is a deep black stone. When you touch the stone, you recieve a flash of something in your mind. A man, screaming in sorrow, suddenly turned to stone. In his arms, he's holding a woman, also of stone.
Simon:
As you sleep, you recall bits and pieces of a few dreams. Some of them memories of old hunts. But one in particular, you feel yourself suspended in the air by ichorous black tentacles stretching forth from you in every direction. You cannot speak, but your thoughts can be heard by others. You are in a ruined citadel, deep beneath the earth, and everything seems to shift so quickly. You can see all that is happening, feel every foot of the floor, ceilings and walls, and even move the structure to your will. Shortly after you receive this visual, you awaken, Miridian informing you of your watch.
Zhan:
Your watch is uneventful, and you graciously fall asleep when your position is taken over. During your sleep you recall a portion of a dream wherein you find yourself standing before a pedestal. The room you are in is barren, a marble floor is illuminated below you only by a pillar of light that shines down on the pedestal before you. Reaching down, you pick up a mask, reflective on the surface, and a hard cold shell on the opposite side against your skin. As you move the mask back and forth, you see differing things, from a golden glow, to a dark void. The next thing you see is the mask being donned upon you. Your ex wife steps out of the shadows, and in a seeming act of swift retribution, your face turns to utter blackness with the mask, and your sword slices through her. Just as your blade makes contact with her, Kiwyn wakes you, informing you of the new peaceful morning.
As you make your way through the fort, it's clearly laid out for a small army. There are two mess halls with some food left behind in both. Near the center of the first floor, there is a chapel dedicated to the Sun God. Around the outer edges of the first floor are offices and classroom like areas. The second floor seems to be a barracks of sorts, with an armory for foot soldiers. The third and fourth floors are similar to the first two floors, but they seem laid out for wizards and archers. Training rooms are scattered across the upper levels, and on the fourth floor, there is a lone room with a non-working portal. There are no bodies like in the town, but it's obvious that a speedy evacuation occurred.
Kiwyn, you get a faint aura of magic from the chest, but it is not dangerous necessarily.
We haven't. Go ahead and identify if you'd like. and I'll update in about an hour (just found out we're going to dinner soon). Also, let me know if there's anything good at Gencon
Simon fiddles with the lock for a short while, managing to push all the pins in the correct sequence. An audible click opens the chest. Inside the chest there are lots of dusty old books, scattered gems and jewelry, loose papers, and an assortment of potions.
Perception 20:
Underneath all of this you spy a crease in the chest. It appears to be a hidden compartment.
As the group moves on to the Garrison you pass by a lot of carnage from the earlier attack. Zhan and Simon, you remember from being in the town for a little while, that the Garrison is on the second tier of the city. After making your way up to the second tier, the gates of the Garrison come into view, open. The immediate vicinity inside looks to be ransacked, but no bodies are present. The fort itself looks to be nearly four stories tall. Made completely of stone, the building is surrounded by a reinforced stone wall, with steel gates. There are stables inside for horses, and feed leftover from the soldiers herd.
Khloey stirs in the arms of Kiwyn, opening her eyes to see the young wizard looking down at her. "Kiwyn!" She jumps up and throws her arms around Kiwyn. The young girl that was seemingly dead only moments ago, now lives, and is as vibrant as ever. While she is enjoying her reunion with Kiwyn, you all notice that the sun is setting, and the canvas of yellow and orange that paint the sky fades into orange and purple. Night will be upon you soon, and the town is currently empty of life. The fires finished burning a couple hours ago, and everything for now is quiet.
Now himself, Simon is visibly irritated, angry, seemingly disgusted, and confused. The rash accumulation of feelings are new to all but Zhan, having seen this before under circumstances of extreme stress.
You find a small locked chest in the captains quarters. The chest has a padlock on it, that seems to have no matching key nearby. Next to the captains quarter is another finely decorated room with lots of books, and scrolls and ink about. The ornate bed frame shows a hint of a high class traveler. When you leave the ship, you see a bright glow emminating from something in Zhans hand.
When Zhan speaks, there is a glowing light from the stone, that bursts forward in all directions. The light subsides after a moment of shining. When the light subsides, Khloey starts to move in Kiwyns arms, and Simon, who has fallen to the floor, starts to rise up.
Simon:
Since its a spell like ability, the tentacles are not permanently attached.
Zhan, Robert, Meridian and Simon are all returning to the site of Kiwyn, and when 'Simon' sees her body, she runs over and slides towards Kiwyn. "Ahhhh! Kiwyn, it's me, it's Khloey. What happened to me? Is my body ok? Zhan said you kept it...me...safe? she stops for a moment..."I'm still me right? My body is still me?" she looks at Kiwyn confused. In this moment, you look into Simons eyes, and you see they are not his, but Khloey instead.
The rest of you notice that Silent isn't in the immediate vicinity, but hear him nearby the ship. You also notice a pile of goods near Kiwyn.
Silent:
Having searched the town and nearby shops, you found 4 unidentified potions, 3 flasks of unknown substance, a small keg of ale (5 gallons), have acquired a small sack of coins and jewels(15pp 12gp 30sp 7cp, 1 ruby, 1 diamond, and 1 particularly grabbing black stone), along with some smithing materials previously missed. The only place left that you have just started searching, is the ship. All is as it was except for a crow picking at a body under some rubble that you missed before. When you enter the ship, the crow flies away, and on the hand of the body, you notice a ring with a very shiny blue gem in it.
Your gentle words are soothing to Khloey, and after a moment she is calm enough to be sensible. "Marcaus is the one that saved me. He kept me safe when everybody in the town was being..." her words trail off. "He has something to do with this stone though." She pulls the small red stone out of a pocket on Simon's coat. When she holds it up, you can faintly see two figures within the stone. It is cloudy, and a red mist seems to be swirling inside of it. One of the figures you immediately notice as Simon, the other is a tall pale man, with glowing runes carved into his skin. "He said he can fix everything, but I have to get back to my body." She reluctantly hands over the chained gem to Zhan. "But he also said he needed to talk to Simon."
Simon:
You see the faces of your comrades Zhan and Meridian staring back at you. This time, they are aware of your presence, and the look in their eyes shows a terrible shock. "One more thing, before this is all fixed..." Marcaus speaks, "You need to find the Forge of Souls, and the Hammer of Genesis. Once you find those, if you can bring the rest of the pieces of the Heart of Mystra, you can end this there. But only if the Brotherhood does not get the pieces first. Be quick.....and you'll need this." He moves his hands in an arcane motion, and you are immediately wracked with pain. Doubling over, you feel a slimy movement from within your body. Coursing through your skin, you feel it exit from your upper and lower back. Black tentacles that surround and curl about your body. (You gain the use of Black Tentacles as a spell like ability usable once per day. In addition to the normal use of the Black Tentacles ability, they can act as weapons, dealing 1d8+Str damage (ranged touch, range of 10 ft), and they give a +2 to any Disarm, Trip, or Grapple checks. )
Kiwyn:
Your Dispel Magic efforts seem to be in vain (I'll allow you to switch that spell with another, as if the spell slot hadn't been lost, for the remainder of the day). This magic is beyond your experience, and level of expertise. You do however sense the direction of the magical link, it is towards the direction that Robert, Zhan, and Meridian left to.
Silent
Kiwyn seems to be deep in meditation, and the others have left your side. You're rather angry about this, but being a stubborn individual yourself, you find subtle understanding in their actions. Not that it helps your mood any. Looking around the shipyard, you notice the ship that was in great shape seems to be available for use. There is nobody left in town, and this leads you to think that it may be wise to gather any materials you can. The ship is free for the taking, you can restock ANY suplies you need, as well as looting, if your character has no objections to that. In addition, with the others being locked into their actions, there is still the matter of where to go next, and what route would be the best to take. You recall a map that was larger and more detailed than the one Robert found, somewhere in the crews quarters of the ship. If you choose to go back, give me a Stealth roll, difficulty 20.
Oh I was still keeping up. I was waiting to see if anybody was going to add anything. I don't know why lol, but for some reason it just seemed an odd place for a pause, but after reading over everything a few times it made sense.
You collect a decent bit from your efforts. You can tell that the magic aura is darker than most and has a direct correlation to magic that affects ones soul. An old, terrible form of necromancy.
Robert:
You immediately notice from the scan, that this is not Simon.
Simon is shaking his head at you. "No, I'm Khloey. Kiwyn took my body, Marcaus told me so. I don't want to be stuck like this." The little girl then starts to cry, falling to the ground. "I want my body back." It then dawns on you. The sudden resurgence of life when first entering the town, this person claiming to be the girl in Simons body, the sudden glowing of the stone. There is foul magic afoot, but she seems to hold some answers. Just then you hear footsteps from behind you. It is Robert.
Kiwyn:
Detect magic reveals a strong magic aura around Khloey. You suspect it is similar to the Evil presence mentioned by Zhan, but there is still no movement, or sign of evil among her that you can feel. Pulling on your knowledge of the Arcane, you recognize that there is potential she could be saved, if magic is in play.
Robert:
You catch up to Zhan and Meridian. Zhan has dismounted and has his hands out towards Simon, who is on his knees crying. Meridian is still mounted, and surveying the surroundings, then sees you approach.
I'm actually going to be dropping out. I was selected for another campaign, and am currently GM'ing one as well. Best of luck to all, it looks like a rather fun adventure.
When Simon approaches you and starts to question you, there develops a sudden curiosity in your head, this is not like Simon to speak like that.
Simon:
You see Zhan and Meridian stop in front of Khloey. She is speaking to them, but you cannot hear what she is saying. They seem to be unaware of your presence.
Silent:
You understand the oddness of the situation, but can't help but feel sorry for Kiwyn and Khloey. Still, your stubbornness refuses to let you believe what you're witnessing.
Marcaus puts a hand to your temple, and instantly, a rush of visions fill your head. You see your homeland, and the distant nations in a state of suffering. Slavery and starvation stretches across the land. The sky has been blackened, fires revenging the land and poison gases fill the air. You see people being harnessed for food. Werewolves and vampire spawn roaming freely among towns and cities. But despair fills the skies as well. Armored dragon riders cull the flock of people, as a Shepard to the lamb. Shades and specters, the undead, and golems of blood and bone act as sentinels to a large citadel in the barren wastes of the Shadow Lands. Atop the citadel stands Marcaus, shirtless, the runes glowing a dark purple, evil energy skittering across his skin. Spikes of bone protrude from his arms, hands, and legs, and a crown of bone from his head. He is standing over you, and as he raises his sword to cut you down he speaks "You could never prevail." When the visions fade, your view is returned to your current form. Marcaus is slowly backing away from you. "Do not let the Brotherhood unleash me, or evil will swallow the land.". You look up and witness Khloey running towards a man on a horse. You recognize him as Zhan.
Zhan:
As you ride heavily towards where you last saw Simon, you notice that he too is running towards you on the street. He is screaming for help. As you get closer, you hear him tell you "Where did you take me? I want Kiwyn!"
Kiwyn, Robert, Meridian, Silent:
The girl doesn't respond to the healing, and she lies there with Kiwyn, until she is carried off by the young wizard. She shows no signs of injury from the undead, and has no visible wounds.
Kiwyn:
You are saddened by the sudden events, and as you're praying you remember that she had no injuries, bites, scratches, or wounds. It also comes to mind that you dressed her into new fresh clothes. You saw her body, and it was untouched.
Well, we love you, and the campaign title is 'For Love of Evil', therefore, you are Evil!
*nods sagely, rubbing a long imaginary beard*
DAWWWW. Thanks :). In another note, while browsing for campaigns to join as a player myself (don't worry I'm not abandoning you guys), I stumbled upon this thread: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2pu4j?Interest-Check-Redemption-in-the-Dragon-s -Lair#4
Which leads me to think there will be a dragon fight involved. So if anybody would like to take a stab at that feel free, I dotted in. Hopefully if I can get on a campaign as a player, It'll kick my ass in gear to post more frequently for you all.
Upon casting Detect Evil, you sense the faint aura of evil coming from the body of Khloey. The more you linger, the stronger your senses of the girl get. You don't see any noticeable evidence of trauma on the girl, but after another few seconds, you feel the presence of the very same aura towards the part of town you just came from. Near where Simon is still located.
Simon:
The voice speaks to you again. "I've taken your soul into the heart, and placed the girl in your body. I could not speak with you directly unless you were here, so there was no other way. Your fellowship has show the capability to deal with the brotherhood, albeit only by a small measure." The voice pauses, and before you, the darkness in front of you swirls into a vortex of darkness. When it clears, there stands a man, of long blonde hair, tall and muscular, with a pale skin, covered in shimmering purple runes. "I am Marcaus Thornblood. Or a fragment of my former self, at least. And you are now charged with a great responsibility. You and your fellowship have to find the missing fragments of the heart. Within each, contains a fragment of my soul, that was never fully destroyed. When you find these pieces you have to combine them, to return me to the material plane. Only then can I be destroyed, and have this darkness lifted from the land. But there is a price... Marcaus moves towards you slowly, raising his hand to your temple. "The future is set, but you can right it. Are you prepared to see?"
Everybody else:
As you approach the dock, you see Kiwyn in tears, clutching the little girl that was alive no more than an hour ago. Zhan is in deep concentration trying to diagnose the situation, and Kiwyn is unable to speak through her sorrow.
Thanks! I'll update and post in the morning. I work thirds, so I'll be gone for about 10 hours starting in about 40 mins. I love being a GM for the group I have now, but I feel that I'm lacking with updates, so being a player will force me to be on more (and I can have some fun from the other side of the fence). Also, I'll switch out the stats. I was also a little confused at the ASM +2/+2. I'll add a -2 to Con (since that fits well). I'll edit him and put him up for review in the morning (EST). I'm thinking he'll be a rogue 3(sniper)/sorc 2.
Also, this character, Adrien, is am Elvish Dhampir (a custom race I created for recruitment to a Kingmaker Campaign). I'll send you the template to look over and decide. If not, I can change his race. But I'll update his stats to your specifics.
Edite: This is of course Adrien Riventhorn...posted with my GM avatar.
You both hear rustling from nearby, and you see from across the shipyard, Meridian, Silent, and Robert rise from the bowels of a nearly untouched ship. Meridian is exiting hastily, and mounts his horse nearby. Looking up, he sees you. From afar, you notice the cleric holding something, but it is too small to make out a definitive object.
Upon inspecting the girl, Zhan, you feel that she is extremely cold. Feeling her pale skin, it is chilled to the touch, and you feel no aura of life, or even presence from her. The more you assess her, you notice that she has no heartbeat or pulse. Kiwyn, you've had Khloey in your lap for the duration of the trip to the shipyard. Her cold lifelessness is evident to you. The bright eyed young girl that you saved mere hours before, hangs lifelessly on your lap.
Meridian, Silent, Robert:
Upon rushing out of the ship, meridian mounts his horse, and the rest of you make your way off the ship. Not even a moment later do you notice Zhan and Kiwyn saddled just off the dock. In Kiwyns lap however, lays a body. Zhan is currently attempting to heal, and otherwise restore some form of health to the body. Silent, you immediately recognize the little girl.
Simon:
"Be calm, child. You are safe here, and cannot harm me even if you tried." The voice fades out some before returning. "I protected the girl, and brought her back from death. Now she has to find her way back." When he says this, you notice from the window view that your body is up and moving around. Your horse is backing away from it, and you see that your body is nervously pacing back and forth. The hands checking their arms, chest, legs, face and hair. "But it wouldn't be this way if that fox hadn't run off with her body."
Zhan and Kiwyn are headed towards the docks to randevu with the others, Kiwyn holding a strong lead, gripping the body of the small child against her.
Simon:
The galloping of Zhan and Kiwyn gets quieter as the next minute passes by. You're stuck in an abandoned street, with nobody but your horse around. As the pseudo-silence settles on your nerves, you realize that, looking around, there was something strange about the incident that befell the town. The corpses reanimating, the priest returning to life for a brief moment, something isn't adding up. The words of the priest weigh down upon you, and you contemplate them further. "The Brotherhood is false." What does it mean? Your problems are cut short however, as the stone starts to glow brighter, you find yourself feeling heavy, sick, and very dizzy. Suddenly you feel empty, and you fall backwards. And as you do, your view changes. You see your body hit the ground, and your horse kicking furiously in fear, neighing fiercely in confusion.
When your vision returns you find yourself in a dark place. You are cold, shivering, and naked. Upon searching your surroundings, you find that the darkness around you stretches seemingly forever. The only light comes from above you, and when you look up, you see a red glimmer, and a window-like structure. From there, you can see the road you were on just a moment ago. In the background of the view, you can see your horse as well. He is moving around very nervously, and although you can tell he is making a lot of noise, you cannot hear him.
"You should not have done that." Comes a voice from the shadows.
Zhan and Kiwyn:
Zhan has caught up to Kiwyn, and you both are riding towards the shipyard. As you approach, you do not see the others.
Meridian, Robert, Silent:
You've started to search the crews quarters. There is nothing of particular interest in most of the cabins, but one of the cabins contains a notebook, open to a page that is dated for earlier today. In two hours, I'll be on the open sea again. reads the beginning of the passage. You are all sickened by the realization that these crewmen and captain had a chance to escape. They were set to sail away on a delivery, when the Brotherhood attacked, and stayed to try and defend their hometown. After reading this passage, you hear a gunshot from afar, the signal from the others that there is trouble.[/B]
Quick check in, I've got another 12hr shift tonight, so with any luck I'll have an update either in the morning, or afternoon tomorrow. How's everybody enjoying things so far? Interesting? Boring? Intrigued? Confused? Would love to hear your thoughts.
When you move the hood back from the man, you recognize him as a priest for the Temple of the Shining Sun (sitting on the second tier of the city). You can tell that he is dead, but a moment later he gasps a slow breath of air, and from behind you, you hear the voice of Khloey say "I don't feel ok." and a scream from Kiwyn.
Zhan, Simon, Kiwyn:
Simon moves to see the fallen individual, and when he stops to observe, Khlowy speaks "I don't feel ok." She falls limp in Kiwyns lap, and turns a very sickly pale. She stops breathing, and the light leaves her eyes.
Perception 15 for Simon, Zhan, and Kiwyn:
You notice a glow coming from the pouch that was holding the stone sought after by The Brotherhood. The magic inside it is active.
Meridian, Silent, Robert:
You see nothing of suspicion upon immediately entering the ship. There are some dead bodies across the floor of the ship, but they have no signs of animation in them. The obvious carnage onboard is nothing different from outside. You see the stairs leading to the upper deck, and the hallway that leads to the sleeping quarters. Not much is left here to investigate, but the crews beds, and captains quarters seem logical places to check.
Perception 25 for Meridian, Robert, and Silent:
While moving through the lower portion of the ship, you notice a hand outstretched from a pile of rubble. On the ring finger of the hand is a ring. It comes to mind that this is a similar ring that your ambushers in the forest had, a Ring of Teleportation.
As you approach the ship, you only hear the swashing of the water, and creaking of the wood. A closer approach lets you look inside. Through a window in the side of the ship, you see a slain crew littering the lower deck. They don't resemble the terrible fate that the townspeople came across, but instead have bite and claw marks among them. Some have even been torn open, or even torn in half. The door that leads from the upper to lower deck is open, as is the lower cabin area. Any materials that you see in the ship appear to be mangled, but there are some objects still intact. The ship is still docked and able to be boarded, and anchor is cast at dock.
Zhan, Simon, Kiwyn:
The further down the street you travel, the less hope you have. Each house is empty, with signs of struggle and death. Blood smeared across windows and walls, broken bodies lying on the floors. Some missing limbs. This grim scene is nothing new to Simon and Zhan, but still horrific none the less. An unusual scene finds you about halfway down the street. You all notice one house with the door open, and a pool of blood having spilled outward. You notice the body laying there is in a hooded robe, with uniform decoration.
It was just after mid-day when you returned to town, and the zombies attacked shortly after, so it's around the 4-5pm hour.
Kiwyn, Zhan, and Simon:
Zhan, Kiwyn, and Simon head off deeper into the city. The further the group travels, the more you recognize the area as an urban mixture of residential and business buildings. The residents homes have been mostly burned or broken down from the invasion. After a short trek, there are larger apartment and motel like buildings. You soon come to a four way fork in the road. One direction, leading straight forward, looks to go deeper into the residences. The left path, seems to be rather curvy, but as far down as you can see, the businesses and shelters seem to thicken, dwindling off the number of homes in the area. The path to the right looks to lead off into a clearing some ways down. You can see a black fence at the end of the clearing, but not much else.
Meridian, Robert, and Silent:
You head the opposite direction from the others, and eventually find yourselves approaching the waterfront. Past all the shipping and receiving warehouses, you see the harbor and shipyard. Not even this portion of the town was free from destruction, as most of the buildings are still smoking with ember, and a decent portion of the ships are in pieces, littering the bay. There are only a couple left intact, and most of the wreckage from the warehouse district is hard to sift through. There is still easy access to some areas of the building closest to the water, and one ship that has a direct pathway left to it. Aside from all the wreckage around you, most contents from the nearby crates, barrels, and carriages are still intact as well. You can't hear any noises over the water splashing, and the wind blowing, but it is perhaps a small possibility that there may be some survivors left.
Those spells are fine. Nice exchange between each other by the way! I'm on break at work, so I'll be posting tomorrow after I wake up. Just out of curiosity though, has anybody ever played or DM'd a game set in the Abyss, or Hell, and have stories about them? I've always wanted to eventually bring a campaign there, but haven't ever read enough material on it. (I have no plans to bring this campaign there, but if anybody is interested in a side story, it could be a possibility for a secondary campaign).
I'm guessing you'll be putting the penance shard on the end as well? Kiwyn, that's the second s+$#ty roll you've had in a row, take 5 hit points instead of 1. I can't have them be that low at this level. My conscience won't allow it.
Everybody go ahead and level up! I should have mentioned it earlier, thank you for reminding me. Also, I realize that some of my posts may have seemed rather leading, but feel free to stray from the "beaten path", if you'd like. I don't have a scanner to upload, but this campaign setting has been in the works for a while. I've got 5 world bosses (yes, world bosses) that can be encountered, 6 mini bosses that have different locations in the wilderness, and 4 provinces laid out so far. (doesn't sound like much, but trust me it's a decent little chunk). Also, there's 3 factions so far, and 3 cults :) And prestige classes for many different tastes. Including a Death Knight sort of class.
Meridian manages to find his required supplies. With nobody in the town, it's easy to sift through the remains and find useable materials. The alchemists shop in particular had a vast array of items to choose from. When his horse returns, he is able to load everything up.Take a backup of crafting supplies for yourself.
Robert scours through the town, eventually finding a map of the local and greater vicinity. You had overheard the little girl talking to Kiwyn about her family in Camden, and the city is clearly marked on the map. You can see there are two direct routes you can take. One is a river path, traveling from the nearby ocean to Camden. The other is a trail that leads over a mountainside, and through a small forest. Camden looks to be located near the middle of the province you're in, and seems to be a decent length trip. Looking for food and camping supplies would be a good way to prep for the journey ahead.
Kiwyn manages to help Khloey find clothes. After changing, Khloey is in a much happier mood. She's become attached to Kiwyn, and doesn't leave her side.
There will be an updated post at 8am est Friday. I'm getting ready for a 12hr shift. The next segment will be less combat oriented and more role-playing though :).
