Thanks for your compliments, Piotr especially about the one without question of system and setting. That is quite touching. Unfortunately I think my time for D&D in general has probably come to a close, and I'm sorry that it entwined all of you in it. I also chose to let you write your own retirements because I think the last thing I gift I can give you would be free will...

As the party researches more into the codex of the three prescriptions, the manual of silence and the unified manual of understanding as well as the Falling Silk, the party realizes that they have bigger troubles on hand. Rose visibly cringes at the sight of any of the books, and Piotr begins to sink down into dumps. Realizing that their memories are not the price of their party members sanity, Winter works on trying to heal both Rose's and Pitor's shattered minds, and urges the party to abandon their research. Dying in the dreamlands will result in a lesser madness in the waking world. I had already rolled earlier for Rose and Pitor's lesser madness quite some time back You may open up GM notes. Each 1d9 is to designate what lesser madness you get Winter eventually manages to heal both Rose and Piotr, as the Sellen Starling reaches Cassomir. The party decides to start their lives anew, on a blank slate in Cassomir, letting their past remain forgotten. Ignorance, afterall, was bliss, as their taste of knowledge was a bitter one. Winter finds a temple of Pharasma in Cassomir, and offers to take Piotr in as an acolyte. Feel free to write your retirements in Cassomir

I thought about the whole thing over the weekend. These days my interest in D&D is dying off. Even the other game where I am only a player. I also looked at our last attempt for recruitment. Frankly I feel that at the pace we're going (it's really slow), the caliber of the recruits we can find will not be very good. The problem with going too slowly is at least for me, I have the tendency to forget what I was supposed to be doing. I'm also starting a new job soon so I have no idea how much time I will have available at a computer to post on paizo and frankly running a game from phone is not optimal at all. I feel that my abilities to conduct an enjoyable game have been detrimentally affected ever since I've moved to phone posting. It's sort of hard when trying to get longer posts on phone, making the game rather flat. If you ask why I don't use PC - it's because the time I'm at a PC is when I'm at work and I don't feel comfortable in new jobs to be logging into game websites for posts. I thank all of you for staying this long and apologize that it didn't work out. I'll wrap stuff up over the next few days and close this campaign.
Strange Aeons Grp 2 |
Anyway. Do you guys wish to continue on 3 people or recruit again? Or just stop at this point of time?

Tiff finds out according to a folio regarding extraplanar undead, the ghouls of the Dreamlands are far more social— though no less wicked—than their bestial kin in the waking world. They have rich histories and large communities led by royalty. She starts perusing the other books, the codex of the three prescriptions and the unified manual of understanding. She finds out a discourse on the dread Plateau of Leng explains that a more powerful form of ghoul inhabits regions where the Dreamlands connects to Leng. These Leng ghouls are shrewder than their lesser kin. She eventually figures out the proper phrase that allows them to use the Dreamlands excursion occult ritual to reach the plateau of Leng.

It's been almost a week waiting on level up. Do you want me to proceed with plot, end up getting into a combat and having to fiddle midway or?
Strange Aeons Grp 2 |
The ship does not seem to understand or show any visible reaction to the party's words. Tiff searches the Bloodwind, with the remaining sailors giving her a wide berth after she eviscerated one of them, finding a whole lot of provisions, barrels and barrels of water and a red-brown chest, which she determines is not trapped. On opening she finds a spellbook containing the following spells: Grease, shocking grasp, vanish, acid splash, detect magic, disrupt undead, mage hand. Sorry he was a low level magus and really didn't have much in name of spells
Strange Aeons Grp 2 |
The party wonders if the ship even understands common as the threats do not appear to have any effect. The ship however, does allow Tiff, the master of magical artifacts, to board. To force an intelligent artifact to submit it is will save vs ego of artifact
Strange Aeons Grp 2 |
Retcon on ship searching The party tries to board the Bloodwind, but the ship will have none of it, swinging its yardarm trying to grapple and toss the brave, valiant soul who tries. Does anyone want to talk nasty to the ship ie, will save vs ego check vs magical artifacts?

I can't swim more then half breadth of a pool without needing to come out to take a breath so doing a perimeter underwater is quite the feat. As an archer your animal companion is happier in melee and you're happier at range so likely you'll be off your animal companion most of the time. And I wasn't running 7h(though I can if I have to..ran a whole bloody night before), a lot of the terrain isn't runnable.
Strange Aeons Grp 2 |
Didn't go as planned. I finished the race but it was too close for comfort. 7h 11 min for 30km in a race that has 8h cut off time. I'm really slow when it comes to technical Downslopes...
Strange Aeons Grp 2 |
Having accepted the sailor's surrender, the party wakes themselves up, on the boat, with Winter going immediately to Piotr, holding his hand, "Are you all right?"She asks concernedly. All of you level to 8, please proceed if you haven't done so yet
Strange Aeons Grp 2 |
I'll be traveling to go Malaysia to...Run Cultra! 30km. Anyway expect minimal or no logins through the weekend as data is expensive over there until I check into the hotel (2nd day night).

Rose manages to punch the Captain and Garrosh shoots him one more time before he falls to the ground, rapidly collapsing into nothingness, leaving his gear consisting of an elixir, a magical scimitar, a green potion, his studded leather, rubies worth 5000gp and his battered tricone hat behind. Later upon identification:
Tiff identifies the elixir as an elixir of hiding, the magical scimitar as a +2 scimitar, the studded leather as a +1 studded leather and the green potion as a potion of spider climb. On seeing the captain disappear into nothingness and knowing they're not going to get paid, the sailor facing Tiff surrenders and drops his weapon. "There's no point in this continuing. You'll just slaughter me like you slaughtered my employer." He says as he drops his flail. Party decision to kill them or not
Strange Aeons Grp 2 |
Yeah you hit but didn't crit. 95 dmg done to the Captain Tiff rips into the sailor with her claws and horns but does not manage to finish him off. Strange Aeons Grp 2 |
At higher levels a lot of things fly(which makes trip useless),or are huge/have multiple legs which makes tripping hard/next to impossible. The only stuff that scales from optimization standpoint would be dirty trick to blind(esp if you have a rogue in party) or grapple/pin/tie up cdg combo which can be a boss killer. Provided they don't have freedom of movement (but again there are tetori monks).
Strange Aeons Grp 2 |
Piotr:
You find the staircase, but it's not glowing and touching it yields no result. ref: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16 The captain dodges most of Rose's blows except for a single claw that does not seem to hit anything vital. Effective only on round it is cast with effect duration. I will put glitterdust as necessary. Piotr's body would have vanished,as this is the Dreamlands.

Forgot to mention standing at edge of pit at end of round will result in reflex saves needed to be made.
Strange Aeons Grp 2 |
You can make your full attacks, Piotr. Ann needs to become corporeal(some action on your part, Piotr?) Before she can harm anything that isn't incorporeal, so point is moot. Ann can step into Piotr's space without causing cover issues.

A frightened creature takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls, saving throws, skill checks, and ability checks.
