Then the two of everything that Ulvard ordered starts to arrive and overflow the table. There's hot buttered bread rolls and clam dip, bowls of creamy chowder, grilled shark, crab boils, about fifty different types of sushi rolls, and other assorted seafood dishes. Here's my plan: ◈ Talk with my table about tactics in advance. ◈ If we select Pincer Move or Gather to Me, tell people to spoiler an extra move on their turn if they act ahead of me and to just include the additional movement with the ↺ Reaction tag on their turn if they move after me. I think if we communicate in advance, we can make this work. Why don't you tell us about your Commander and the tactics you can prepare? On another note, I see several GMs at my table. You meet bewildered villagers coming out of their humble homes, some of whom blink their eyes as if they haven't left their dwellings in a long time. The villagers cry with joy as they see not only you, but also the Risuchō squirrel-rabbits, who run around for at least half an hour delivering a month's worth of mail to the isolated villagers. A woman squeals as she gets a letter, “My daughter gave birth to a healthy girl! I'm a grandmother!” Other villagers shout their joy as they receive letters from friends, family, or even just trading partners in other villages. “We've not been forgotten by everyone!” one man says, clutching his letter to his heart and rubbing wet eyes with his sleeve. An elderly tengu woman approaches, wearing a neat if somewhat plain kimono and thick glasses. “Gentle strangers, I see you bear Sakura's token," she says, nodding her beak in the direction of the glowing sprig. "I am Mayor Kimi, and I welcome you to Silvertree. Can you tell me... Has Sakura forgiven us?” She looks at each of you anxiously, hoping for good news. ![]()

![]() As you come out of the mists, the waters of the curving Bunkatsu river roar by. Up ahead is a bridge to the other side, and on that bridge are two angry-looking feline beasts. In other circumstances they might be a delight to behold -- long and curving like ferrets, these graceful eight-legged creatures sport a gray tabby coat of fur streaked with lines of olive green. ![]() The Veiled Lady attempts to feed the squirrel-rabbits things she found in the forest, which the cute little messengers enjoyed and munched upon... but she did not get her message through to them. Bun suggests fresh mushrooms to the squirrels, and gets a soggy mass of leaves dropped on his head. This bit of slapstick makes several of the risuchō appear to laugh, which puts them in a better mood for Soddy-Daisy's final appeal. With twitching noses and tails, the creatures start to lead you through the fog. ![]() At Eddie's question, Sakura looks surprised. “I was so enraged by the foul presence in my woods that I could barely speak of it... But you say you cannot smell it now?" She pauses, more uncertainly. "Do you think the villagers could be unaware of its presence? I thought them recacitrant but perhaps... Surely you can feel it. You can feel it, can you not?” Alas, it is clear that none of you can sense the problem the way Sakura does. As Sakura ponders this conundrum, The white squirrel-rabbits chitter at Sakura, and then hop hopefully again to the edge of the solid fog barrier. Sakura’s eyes narrow as she studies the Pathfinders before her. “Very well. I will allow you within the fog, and we will see how you manage the challenge. Perhaps you can find your way.” Then Sakura pauses. “Should you meet enraged kami, defend yourselves, but try not to kill them. They know not what they do.” Sakura raises an arm, and the fog thins for a moment, allowing both you and the chittering squirrel-rabbits following you within. Then the fog closes around them, dense and forbidding, blocking nearly all vision but for adjacent creatures. The squirrel-rabbits accompany you, patiently waiting to see what you might do. ![]()
