PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Ok thanks AMT - Have amended the report. Any probs, PM me

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

@Garsita - could you help me out. I'm not sure what the prestige should be? Does everyone get 1 prestige? Really sorry this is taking so long to finalise :-(

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Hmm will do

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Thanks Garsita - all done now!

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

done - not sure what happened there!

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

All done folks - original link above!

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Ah I see! So sorry - thanks for clarifying. I will change the chronicles. I’m going to be in Paris for a couple of days so won’t be able to do it until Friday. If it’s urgent because you need to play the characters, you might have to change it yourself, otherwise I will amend and upload Friday morning.

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Sorry - I might be missing something here but as i understand chronicles - you helped Remaio restore nobility and didn't tell the court about his financial misgivings and were knighted so you should have "Knights of Taldor" ticked, no? Are you saying I should strike through the others?

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Hi Angry - have unarchived. Nobles is Taldor is if you had spoken against Remaio but I will double check!

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Hi all, sorry for delay. Your chronicle sheets are here. The scenario has been reported and I think I've done all correctly but let me know if not. Thanks again for playing and I'll mark as archived. Any problems, PM me

Chronicles

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

And I speak for the bravery of these travellers and by extension, Remaio says the young Aayef. He drops his head in shame I...I thought I was brave, but I stand here before this court only because these warriors saved me from certain doom. Princess Eutropia...I am not worthy of your company but if you will listen to a boy, then I beg of you to take their words as true

The boys speaks the truth, foolish though he was! says the Priest. These advernturers came to my aid and helped to rescue an heirloom that had....been mislaid beneath the Basilica. They are honourable and even returned goods of mine that the Ratfolk had stolen. I can vouch for them, and their employer.

Aayef and the Priest steps back to the shadows. Princess Eutropia holds up her hand. Thank you travellers. Indeed it does seem that you have had quite the journey and your service to Taldor will not go unrewarded .

Her eyes narrow at Remaio, like she doesn't quite trust him. And what say you Remaio? Have you anything to add to this tale?

Remaio bows his head in deference, a wry smile upon his lips No Princess, I can add nothing to these tales of truth . In the background, Solmon snorts in derision but the Princess ignores it.

So be it, she says I am satisfied that Honaria's name should be restored in good faith and that you Remiao, servant of Taldor, should have your family name restored to its former glory.

Remaio is visibly shaken and a small tear forms in the corner of his eye and he glances over at you Thank you he mouths.

And you, Princess Eutropia turns to you all Your service to Taldor will also not go unnoticed. Through the grace of the court of Taldor I hereby grant you all Knighthoods and declare you all to be Knights of Taldor. Long may your service to Taldor continue... she looks at Angry and smiles Not that I have ever had one quite so tall in my service! The court erupts into laughter as the band strikes up and the Princess shouts Now let's raise the roof on this celebration!

And that, brave Knights of Taldor, is the end of Honor's Echo. It's been a pleasure and a great learning experience for me and I will sort your chronicles over the next day. Thank you for sticking with it - I appreciate it's been a long one! GM over and out

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Hi folks - stacked day at work today so will update tomorrow (which will close off the adventure I expect aswell!).

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

@Angry/Aylanna - brilliantly done and well RP'd. +1 GM bonus to your next roll ;-)

Inka is now friendly, as is the Princess.

Seferi takes the scent from Alina Your kindness toward strangers serves you well Madam and i am in your debt he boys and is now friendly

The letters make no sense to Tholl but Gloriana is grateful nonetheless You have been a great help to me, come, let me get you a dri...

Gloriana is interrupted by the clinking of metal against crystal. A servant speaks to the room. Esteemed ladies and gentleman and... he looks at Angry ..others...ahem. Court is now in session!

Remaio glances over at you. He has beads of sweat on his head.

Princess Eutropia takes to the stage. Good evening all. We have much business to attend to and the first matter of order is the nobility, or otherwise, of the Alcasti house. She takes a seat on a red velvet chair. I am prepared to be petitioned. Commence!

Remaio steps forward, smile beaming, toward the stage but the Princess holds up her hand Not by you, Remaio. From what I hear, your companions have done much work on your behalf to seek the honor or otherwise of your name and I will listen to them and to them only .

You may try to convince the Princess that Honoria was honorable and that Remaio should be awarded a baron title. To do this requires three statements supporting your case based upon you adventures: the recovery of the blade, the bust of Honaria from the basilica, the trinkets from her tomb, the letters from her aunt's farm, or the evidence that she took care of villainous bandits in the forest. DC15 Diplomacy, Perform (oratory) or Profession (Barrister) for each check. One may aid another.

If you wish, you may stick it to Remaio and reveal his financial impropriety for a DC 25 on the same checks.

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

No problem Garsita - hope you feel better soon!

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

@Alina. You don't have time to go shopping but you can gift something in your possession to help the Captain impress the Princess. This will result in him becoming Friendly disposition

Solmon looks at Tholl, indifferent toward the Human This place is full of over privileged people who've never had to work a day in their lives. Don't you agree?

DC15 Perform Oratory:
You join in complaint about Taldor’s bureaucracy. If you succeed, he becomes Friendly

Solmon looks over at Remaio, working the room. You know, you wouldn't believe some of the things I could tell you about him. In fact, cross my hand with twenty gold pieces and I'll tell you what I know - and don't look at me as if I'm immoral. I'm underpaid for the work I do.

If you pay him 20 gp:
Solmon hints about Remaio’s illicit financial behavior, and reveals Remaio’s long history of taking bribes, and notes that Remaio funded your quests with ill-gotten gold. Solmon wryly admits he sympathizes— the Taldan government is dysfunctional, and Remaio is barely given one month’s pay for six months of work

DC 15 Sleight of Hand to steal or DC 20 Diplomacy to ask to see the letters the Princess referred to

Inka says to Angry Yes, it is tough, but so am I. Are you? DC15 Strength check to impress her and move disposition to Friendly. If you succeed, you can then DC15 Diplomacy to warm her opinion of the princess

20 minutes now elapsed

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

The princess turns to Aylanna And you are? I'm sorry, I don't recognise you and... the Princess peers over Aylanna's shoulder, clearly preoccupied with what Dominic Rell and Inka Heldotor are doing. Eventually she turns back to Aylanna what where you saying? Hmm..yes yes, very interesting She makes her excuses and leaves, peering over once again and Dominicus and Inka

Captain Seferi smiles at Alina, awkwardly These are not my natural surroundings as you can probably tell. Still, we do what me must eh? He looks over admiringly at the princess.

DC15 Knowlege Nobility or Sense Motive for Alina:
He reveals his reason for coming is deceptively innocent—Seferi admires the Princess and seeks her approval. Seferi is aware he is uncouth and is afraid of
putting the wrong foot forward. You are able to lend Seferi better
clothing or help hime find a suitable gift to offer

Time passsed - 10 mins

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Ah, I recognise you from the description of young Aayef here. I understand that you were of some significant assistance to his youthful curiousity. Indeed, I understand you, more than most, suffered at the hands of that giant scoprion. It is a pleasure to meet you

She sips some wine before adding They can be a dreadful bore these court events. I am here to aid Princess Eutropia. If I may speak freely? She leans in to Tholl's ear, a sweet fragrance on her skin. I have concerns
that several other nobles are on the cusp of finding out information about some of the princess’s clandestine political maneuvering. In particular, she knows that Solmon Menander has some suggestive letters—while not incriminating, they are enough to create suspicion if the wrong person got hold of them. Would you be so kind as to see if you might be able to take a look at them?

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

AMT manages to disable the clockwork owl. Thank you, it says. This act of kindness from AMT is noticed by beings higher than you and suddenly
the plaque by the coffin cracks in half; the remaining inscription now reads,
Remember her deeds and restore her honor.. A feeling of peace suffuses the tomb, healing you for 10 hit points each.

You return to Remaio with Honaria’s laurels, Remaio is pleased with your efforts, eagerly explaining the laurels that he recognizes and basking in secondhand pride.

You rest for 1d3 ⇒ 2 before travelling to Oppara. Remaio’s blood, sweat, and tears have finally paid off as you read the letter he has left for you see slide 2 Through bribery and political favors, the would-be nobleman has managed an invitation to the court of Princess Eutropia herself!

You arrive at court, dressed in the courtier outfits that Remaio has provided for you all, although Angry's is a little ill-fitting and Tholl just looks uncomfortable and itchy.

You are here! he says cheerfully.

DC15 Sense Motive:
Remaio is clearly nervous.

DC10 Knowledge Nobility:
Eutropia is the only child of Grand Prince Stavian III, the ruler of Taldor. She intends to inherent the throne upon the death of her father, even though according to the current laws of Taldor, only male heirs are eligible to inherit the throne.

DC15 Knowledge Nobility:
Some Taldan nobles fear that Eutropia’s ambitions may lead to a costly civil war. Others believe that Eutropia’s efforts to make a case for her inheritance to the Senate will eventually succeed, and believe that the progressive vision of Taldor that she supports is the best way to shake off centuries of stagnation.

You enter the court. This ancient and grand palace is decorated with ornate arches of patterned stone. Robed greeters bow as the building’s massive iron doors swing open. Light illuminates the hall through dozens of windows in the ceiling. Shining panels of gold decorate the marble walls.

You all have some political maneuvering to do!

There are several nobles that you may speak to and their current disposition is stated below. You may speak to more than one and you have up to 1 hour before proceedings begin and each interaction takes 5 minutes.

Princess Eutropia Indifferent

Gloriana Morilla who is talking to Aayef, the young boy whom you saved from the scorpion. Friendly.

Dominicus Rell is a top advisor to Grand Prince Stavian III Unfriendly.

Father Basri whom you recognise from the Basilica Friendly

Inka Heldotor is present only to keep the venue secure for future visits from the crown. Indifferent

Captain Seferi is a Zimar Corsair, a pirate in service to Taldor’s Imperial Navy who looks uncouth and a bit awkward in these surroundings Indifferent

Solmon Menander looks like a bitter and overworked bureaucrat Indifferent

Theon Cenabri is a distant descendant of Italice Cenabri from your recent excursion to the tomb Friendly

You may now take a drink and speak to whomever you choose. I will keep a track of time.

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

I fear not my own destruction, says the mangled owl. Syagra Tetranella, one of Honaria’s comrades in arms, cast the blame on my master Italice Cenabri, a prominent adviser to the crown. In truth, I suspect many people shared responsibility for Honaria’s disgrace, but Italice served as a convenient scapegoat for
Syagra’s rage and sorrow. I have no desire for revenge though it is true that I blamed Honaria for Italice’s death. Centuries of reflection in this tomb have changed my opinion and I do not believe any of this to be something she would have wanted. Go ahead, do what you must.

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

All healed, you move through to the tomb and decide upon what to do with the clockwork owl. If you haven't rolled already, you'll need to roll your relfex saves against the acid cloud.

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

You have no idea how happy I am right now. I absolutely hated having to roll for the dying dog damage because I felt that 2d6 was really unfair but at the same time, I didn't feel I could skip it in all honesty

@Alina - take what time you need and stablise/heal as needed. The clockwork owl and Honoria are going nowehere so I'd also allow you to take a 1d3 day roll to go to the nearest town for healing potions.

Assuming you all make it through, you still have to deal with the acid cloud and the clockwork owl by either killing it or disabling it.

Can't tell you how nice it is not to be a TPK mass murderer

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Yes, the tomb is empty so you may do what you can to stabilise and heal

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Hi folks, I'm back and your patience is appreciated. The bad news for you is that as the guardian dog drops to the floor...

It releases a burst of electricity in a 10 ft radius. You all received 2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10 electricity damge. DC13 Reflex for half

You move forward into the tomb. This sparse room holds little beyond a lacquered wooden coffin. A human skull sits on a plate in front of the casket, while a mangled clockwork owl lies a few feet away. An engraved plaqueis propped up behind the skull against the wooden pall. The smell of corrosion fills the air.

The plaque reads Here lies Honaria Alcasti, betrayed by her inferiors and those she served. We shall remember her deeds and restore her honor

The letters are fadedand the plaque appears to be centuries old. Looking closer at the plaque you see a hairpin with a noble crest upon it.

DC15 Knowledge Nobility:
You recognize the insignia as the symbolof the Cenabri family, aTaldan noble house with a long history of involvement in legislation and bureaucracy.

The clockwork owl is Amantius, the former familiar of Italice Cenabri. His confrontation with Syagra destroyed the right half of his face and damaged his connections to a wand inside his body, causing him to
spew corrosive acid in a 10-foot-radius cloud around him.

Acid cloud Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4 DC14 Reflex Negates

You can neutralize the broken wand with a DC 15 Disable Device, a DC 13 Craft (construct) check, or a DC 15 Use Magic Device check.

It takes 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds to neutralise so you need to roll for one more round of acid damage/reflex or you can attack it

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Hi folks - travelling back from a Switzerland so please bear with me - will update in. Ext 12 hours

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Angry turns the dog into a hunk of well, dead Guardian Dog around about the same time that Aline crushes the bones of the crawling hand.

Combat over. Sorry for delay - travelling to Switzerland today and the fog meant that I spent 90 extra minutes on the tarmac followed by an aborted landing! Will update tomorrow ASAP

Aylanna misses the dog which jumps back and glares at her. The remaining crawling hand tries to grab Alina's throat to prevent her witchcraft.

Hi all

The chronicle sheets are here. Please can you complete the bits where you need to (e.g. SFS# if I haven't been able to find it and any starting/finishing credits). I will then sign the documents which will finalise them and then report the scenario

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

sorry - one more question! At the bottom of the chronicle sheet it asks for an event name and number? I can't work out where to get that from?!

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

ah okay - useful tips, thanks!

Right, I'll get on with them

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

@Aylanna - is that your round action done? @Tholl - have I missed something?!

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Stairways lead up to a marble dais, where rotted wooden offerings lie in splinters. The tiles of the floor are scorched black, and the smell of magical ozone fills the air. A sickly pale glow sputters amid a pile of debris, illuminating a shattered sword upon the ground. In the chamber’s walls, rows of niches bear ceramic urns labeled with bronze plaques. A repetitive grinding sound echoes through the chamber, erratic and yet unceasing.

The grinding sound and pale glow come from the tomb’s last remaining guardian, who Syagra smashed into pieces centuries ago. Despite Syagra’s efforts, the
ruined guardian clings to life, vainly attempting to perform its duty. Formerly a statue of a proud, doglike creature, it now lies in fragments, only able to move its intricate metal frame with its magical animating force. The guardian’s
jaws spark wildly as the disparate pieces drag themselves towards you struggling to destroy you. It has also animated three crawling hands from the ruins of the statue.

DC 15 Wisdom check or DC 10 Knowledge (arcana) check:

You recognise that the guardian is magically unstable and likely to explode.

Another couple of questions please folks!:

1. If you have day jobs can you roll please?
2. The scenario awards 720 credits - what should I put in the starting credits, 0?

Sorry for all the questions - want to get them right!

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Also - can't remember if I asked this but assuming you are all new characters and no previous XP or Fame? If not, let me know.

I've only ever filled out Chronicle sheets once so please check them carefully and letme know if any errors. Will upload later today

Happy to do that - which section do I write that in as I'm not sure what it refers to?! :-)

PbP Kit Honor's Echo Maps

Angry smashes down the door which crumbles to near dust at her feet. You enter the dark tomb which smells old and uninhabited.

After a few metres, you come across a large granite tablet covered with names and dates in the center of a small room. The tablet provides a chronological record of the Alcastis buried within the tomb. About halfway down the stone the list stops, ending with Honaria Alcasti, 4049
ar–4123 ar.

Through the door next to Garsita, you find a statue of a soaring pegasus rising above the pool of stagnant water in the center of the room. The pool in this room was once a fountain, but its pipes broke over years of neglect. Now the water is dusty and still. I have moved your token

Further into the tomb you come across the Hall of Statues. Somber statues of Alcastis past line this hallway, their hands broken apart and lying at their feet. A pile of shattered rubble lies strewn across the floor, the stone pierced through with abandoned spears and swords. The air is thick with dust and neglect.

The rubble is what remains of the Alcastis’ tomb guardians.

DC13 Perception:
You notice distinct features in the shape of the stone, such as a paw and an ear, that suggest that it was once part of a statue of a dog. The weapons on the floor all came from the hands of the Alcasti statues—spears from the statues on the south wall, and swords from the statues on the north wall. All of the weapons bear a pegasus crest upon them, which matches the wax seal on the letter
that you received from Remaio.

DC15 Perception:
You hear scraping and crackling noises through the door to the next room.

The cave is not far from the tree, but without the tree’s direction, it blends into its surroundings. A quick dig reveals several split helms and broken swords, each bearing the fox insignia of a unit in the ancient Taldan army.

Shortly after you retrieve the items, another member of the lodge appears and surveys the scene I wish not to know what happened here in this sacred forest, but I am here to guide you safely back

You return through the forest and rest for the night at The Talking Tree inn where Remiao has laid on some roasted meats and the finest ale.

He greets you the next morning. Brave adventurers, I cannot thank you enough for what you have done in the forest. These broken swords speak of Honoria’s bravery more than words can but I must ask another favour. The letter you have about the burial chamber - please, visit this chamber and see if you can find Honoria’s awards and decorations and then we shall finally redeem her good name!

DC10 Knowledge Nobility or Knoweldge History:
As the empire began to crumble, Taldan nobles increasingly began to build tombs in remote locales to avoid the depredations of vandals and scavengers.

DC15:
To further deter the attention of tomb robbers, most Taldan tombs contain magical curses and powerful guardians to protect the bodies and treasures within.

DC20:
Some Taldan tomb guardians can only be harmed with weapons belonging to the noble house they guard.

You set off and journey through the foothills of the World’s Edge Mountains is uncannily desolate, and a lonely pall hangs over the entire trip until a white marble tomb emerges from the shadow of a low mountain. Two composite columns frame the tomb’s tarnished silver door with cracked hinges. The rain-streaked relief of a pegasus head sits in place of a keyhole.

Engineering check by Mr Scott to boost rear shields DC19, Helm phase: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Mr Scott moves 10 points of shields to the rear shield (Forward 10, Port 15, Starboard 15, Aft 30)

GM Piloting rolls:
Lawblight: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Piloting Phase

The pirates move upominously on the Odyssey I'll drink to your good death shortly! screams that Captain at Keyrock

Seeing the ship close in, Funfreemy tries to Evade the pirates Evade DC14: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 and does so succesfully [ooc] +2 to AC and TL this round [/dice]

Gunnery Phase

The Lawblight opens fire with it's coilguns! Attack but with -2 taunt penalty: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 8 - 2 = 14 The guns miss, thanks only to Funfreemy's evasive flying!

Hikaze opens fire with the turret coilgun and strikes! [HP 28/35]

Round 2 -I've halved the HP of both ships to speed things up. Please post your actions!

Garsita:
Thanks - the 13 doesn't hit, but the stat block doesn't give a Con score. As Firepaw is dead, she fights to the death (she would have fled at 5HP IF Firepaw had still been alive. In terms of the plot, the fact that you all held back from attacking first and event tried to help means that the Tree is willing to engage you in conversation. Hope that helps!.

Nearly finished this scenario folks then there are two more before the module is complete! I'm happy for you to reveal all of the spoiler with one successful DC20 Diplomacy to speed things along as it's a PbP rather than live game

Thanks to Funfreemy's skills, Hikaze's outstanding science background you manage to navigate safely through the asteroid field without taking any damage. You are about to settle in for the flight back to Absalom when a large vessel of rusted metal slips from behind an enormous
asteroid, its weapons already firing. The front of the ship resembles a stylized skull with crossed bones beneath—a clear indication of space pirates!

COMBAT ON!

DC12 Culture:
You recognize that Besmara is the goddess of piracy, space monsters, and strife. You know that Besmaran space
pirates are a growing threat throughout galactic shipping lanes, and that such pirates throw themselves into combat with a boisterous zeal—it is rare to talk one’s way out of combat with an approaching Besmaran pirate ship.

I'm stacked at work today but if you want to roll your Engineering/Piloting/Gunnery phases for round 1 behind spoilers I will resolve the first round tomorrow evening. This is the last scenario but a rough one! Thanks for sticking with it!

Garsita rushes to Trajet's aid but she is too late, the Druid has fallen at the hands of Angry's rage and Aylanna's arrow.

'Tis over, booms the tree. The forest family have fallen and yet, I cannot hold against you that which you did to save yourselves, for we are all creatures of habit, and I can see clearly that your habit is to survive. Tell me, visitors of the forest, what do you seek?

Druidic or Sylvan speakers get a +2 on the checks below. All are DC20 Diplomacy or Intimidate

Why was Honaria Alcasti here?:
She was a commander in the outlanders’ army some years ago, before they split into squabbling nations. She came to round up fugitives in the woods, but she always treated the Wildwood Lodge with respect.

How large was Honaria’s command?:
Honaria led a few score of warriors, but she lost only a handful. Although the campaign took seasons, she was implacable. Eventually her little group wore the fugitives down, like a rock cracking under roots.

Who were the fugitives?:
They were outlanders who Honaria said were stealing from other outlanders. She said they used to be another part of the same army. The fugitives never gave us any problems, but the conflicts of outlanders are non of my concern.

Is there any evidence?:
Many of her fallen enemies were
buried in a cave not far from here. Their bones are long gone, but a sword or two might remain. You may search through it if you’d like.

Nothing else of value remains in the wreck; anything obviously worth salvaging was taken by the Corpse Fleet explorer that plundered it earlier. Although the UnboundedWayfarer’s computers are beyond repair, they retain sufficient power to interact with the Starfinder insignias you brought
with you.

Computer Interface:

The computer flares to life just enough to display a datafile of worlds previously explored by crew of the Unbounded Wayfarer. They include:
• A wasteland planet called Elytrio that displayed signs of
scattered technology.
• A sentient asteroid called Lamentia teeming with morlock
“children” in the Vast.
• A massive space station called End of Bright Things stuck
between the orbits of two blue dwarf stars.
• A stormy, oceanic world called Wealdriad, with upthrust
columns of basalt piercing the storm-tossed ocean’s surface.

You safely retrace your steps to the Odyssey and send a wireless transmission of the files to the Odyssey for storage. You leave Ulmarid’s surface but as you exit the atmosphere a warning klaxon blares, and the ship lurches. The asteroid field around the world of Ulmarid is more agitated than on the descent down to the surface Map Updated . Although it’s not clear what has caused the anomalous activity, what’s certain is that you must reach safer altitude before a more serious collision occurs.

DC20 Piloting Check or the Odyssey takes 3d4 ⇒ (4, 2, 3) = 9 damage to the 1d4 ⇒ 3 Port shield.
