Halgra didn't mean to ignore him, sorry I just didn't write a long post for it then, was kind of waiting to see if anyone else was going to post and then forgot that part. Anyway, she got your information and is now letting you know she will bring it all to the council meeting. Halgra looks at Durin with a slightly surprised expression. It is a meeting of the council, you wish to attend? She gives her head a little shake, as if trying to comprehend some unexpected or confusing information, We of course appreciate all of the assistance that you have bravely provided in the defense of the town as well as your excellent work in solving Rodrick's death. She pauses again. If you really wish to attend the meeting it starts at dusk. The council gathers and shortly after dusk. Halgra, Councilor Agrit Staginsdar, Councilor Lessie Crumkin and Councilor Sara Morninghawk make their way into the meeting room. Agrit and Sara greet you warmly, thanking you for saving Sara’s life and ask to speak to you privately sometime after the meeting, but other than that they all get seated and straight to work. Halgra: Thank you all for meeting on such short notice and with so much that needs to be done both personally and for the good of Trunau. Sara, how are the rebuilding efforts going?
Brinya smiles indulgingly and Bym and Vheyron and allows him to sniff her hand. She is obviously busy though and quickly gets back to her tending of the wounded. In response to Seeva Halgra answers, It would likely be very easy to follow a trail left by so large a force, the question is do you wish to run off by yourself after them. The survivors will be licking their wounds, but so are we. Give us a chance to sort some things out, formulate a plan. Many of these things will be discussed at tonight's meeting.
Cham's eyes narrow and her brow furrows as she tries to recall anything that could be of help. After a moment her eyes grow wide and she stammers, The man! The one who wouldn't leave his name! He stayed at The Ramblehouse the night Rodrick died. I mean I think they are the same clothes. They are covered with lots of, stuff. Halgra didn't ignore him, sorry I didn't write a long post for that instant, I am not really great at exposition. She got your information and is now letting you know she will bring it all to the council meeting. Halgra looks at Durin with a slightly surprised, maybe even confused expression. It is a meeting of the council. We of course appreciate your excellent work in solving Rodrick's death. She is a bit taken aback by the comments regarding defending the town as all the residents fought fiercely to the best of their ability and the militia killed scores of enemies preventing them from even entering the town. She seems as if she is about to say more, but instead just replies, Of course, If you wish to attend the meeting feel free. We meet at dusk.
Previously Cham backtracks, Oh, I don't know him, or recognize him. The clothes just look kind of familiar is all. That's what I mostly pay attention too you see, that's what's in my line of sight and I do like clothes, She smooths down her own dress as she speaks. But I do think it was a human that was wearing them. Date: 25th of Desnus
The first day is spent triaging the town, both the buildings and people. Exhausted, the town sleeps deeply the first night, excepting the guards tasked with ensuring they don't suffer another attack. The lone functioning catapults the invaders had brought had be claimed for the town and was now in place to help that defense.
Halgra manages to catch the group at the community breakfast in the longhouse. Thanking them for their efforts and their information revealed the previous day she informs them. The council is meeting this evening. I will inform them of all that you have learned and if things go well on Tyari's end we may have more information to consider. I would like to speak with you all again tomorrow morning. You can find me at the Hall any time before noon. She gives a nod of farewell, confident that her instructions will be heeded. Anyone having spent any time in Trunau will know she is referring to the Ivory Hall, the Chief Defender's traditional residence as well as the meeting hall for the council.
So the whole town is clearing out rubble and tending to wounded and you ran around looking for a place to buy some scrolls? Then spent 5 or so hours trying to learn the scrolls and also helped out with the rebuild? This is of course the same day that you went back into the cave and dealt with the skeleton and rat. I think Seeva is getting a little bit ahead of herself. You will be able to find the scrolls but it won't be "today" people aren't concerned with opening their shops right now or digging through their partially destroyed inventory to find you some particular scrolls. You will need to slow it down a touch.
The townspeople are all busy about their tasks. The assistance provided by the group is treated as welcome but not unusual as everyone is hard at work helping however they can. Omast is found at the inner gates, overseeing the repair of the walls and gates. Kurst and Jagrim are organizing disposal of the dead and dealing with any prisoners. Halgra can be found at the gates between Upper and Inner Trunau, directing people and supplies to their most needed distribution. Brinya is found in the Longhouse helping tend to the wounded. Bym's approach is met with a very polite yet obviously harried greeting. At the offer of the hopeknife Brinya demurs, I have Rodrick's original knife, the one he gave me as his betrothed. I feel that this one would be better served in the hands of you and your companions. Durin's display gains a few odd looks and a few kicks of the corpse by some of the townspeople looking to take their frustration out on a tangible target, but no one seems to recognize the increasingly disfigured corpse. As Cham Laringfas is hurrying past she stops for a second and does a double take. Squinting her eyes she looks distastefully at the bloodied face, I can't say that I recognize this..creature, but the clothes look vaguely familiar.Shaking her head in perplexion she rambles almost to herself, I know I have trouble keeping all the longshanks straight, but I can normally spot the difference between a half-orc and a human. Passing by Halgra she instructs Durin to take Skreed's body to cells attached to the longhouse for safekeeping until she decides what to do with him.
You don't have to do anything with it, I just didn't know if you were leaving all the bodies in the tomb where they fell, removing them all to go on the pyre, telling someone else to do it, seeing if anyone recognized anyone, checking with Halgra or Kurst what they want done. You can definitely just leave them there if that's what you want.
So yeah, that is a lot of spells that I have never heard of. I mean obviously enlarge person and unseen servant would be relatively easily obtained. I don't recognize any others off the top of my head. Obviously you will never find scrolls of non-core as this AP is written. Pick maybe 4 non-core spells and I will look at them and see where they come from and if they might become available. I'm not sure how witches work exactly, do you get a free spell at each level or there abouts that you don't have "find" If so please keep those to core stuff only. I would suggest just turning off any outside source books in herolab so you don't get carried away when looking at spells.
24th Desnus As you exit the cave and make your way back through the Hopespring pool, fully laden and struggling with the sheer bulk of weapons and armor you just collected, as well as the various objects ‘recovered’ from the invaders that you left in a heap by your night’s campsite, you hear the distinctive clang of a hammer and anvil. You also see various people moving around Clamour, already rebuilding the damaged walls and roof.
A walk through the town reveals the damage. Upper Trunau was left relatively unscathed. Only one rock made it to the upper plateau and caused almost no damage, landing near the top of the Hopespring. Inner and Lower Trunau are a different story. Multiple fires have damaged or destroyed most of the buildings in Inner Trunau and it is essentially uninhabitable. Lower Trunau was spared most of the fire damage but many boulders landed here and while most buildings have walls still standing roofs seem to be in short supply. What townsfolk are not actively involved in repairs, either on the walls and gates or the buildings themselves, are gathered in the longhouse organizing clothes and other necessities for those who lost theirs, or cooking food for town. Much use is being made of the seigestone to supplement the scarce food and ensure people are fed quickly. Anyone with a modicum of healing talent is hard at work at the makeshift infirmary in the back of the Longhouse. The Sanctuary got away relatively unscathed but the wounded are too numerous or too injured to make moving them practical. All the clerics of the town are currently here and anyone rescued from the rubble is brought her for tending. Venturing to look outside the walls or from a good vantage on top of the walls, the full impact of the battle hits. Nearly two hundred of dead orcs can be seen in the daylight. Interspersed among them are dead horses and the remains of the militia who made the ultimate sacrifice. The scene truly does serve to highlight the skill and dedication of the militia men and women in their defense of the town. The remaining militia are doing the solemn work of identifying the bodies, separating the attackers and defenders into two separate pyres, and recovering anything worth salvaging. Taking everything all in it’s hard to fathom that only 5 short days ago you were playing tug of war at a birthday party.
What about spells that are not normally divine but an oracle can cast? For example colour spray which lists M but no DF. Is is converted to a divine spell for the oracle and no M needed? I would rule that as the case and that only spells requiring components not normally found in a spell pouch would use the M but am wondering what the consensus would be.

Sarah gives you an excellent description. She's a dark olivey with very, very short dark brown hair. Her ears are pointed and she doesn't wear any jewelry in them. Her eyes are blue and her tusks are small and pointed straight up. She also has an intricate geometric tattoo on her forehead that is kind of wing shaped and a few old, faded looking scars on her face. She is a few inches shorter than I am and, Sarah flexes a huge bicep, while not as strong as I, was strong enough that I thought she would do well in the smithy. She kept to herself. Said she was a refugee. You know I don't pry into people's pasts, I didn't ask her where she was from and she didn't volunteer it. She never had any visitors here, I couldn't speak to outside Clamor.
Sarah frowns at Ishan's question, not at the question itself but at the memory of Urnsul. I'm afraid not. I took pity on a refugee named Urnsul, you know me, I have a soft spot for those like us. Anyway she showed up a few weeks ago looking for work and I hired her on as an apprentice. She disappeared a couple of days ago though. Up and left without even a goodbye or thanks! She mutters to herself about the ungratefulness and unreliability of others.

The day progresses and your stomachs begin to grumble as the memory of breakfast has long ago faded.
At Clamor
At The Spinning House
At The Hungry Hydra
At Ramblehouse Cham obediently shows you to the room occupied by the nameless guest. Other than the blood, it looks very similar to Rodrik's room, as do all the other rooms in the inn. Only the rooms used by more permanent boarders have any more amenities. A bed, desk and chair are the only furnishings and a similar jug of water and glass rests on the desk. Truly, I know nothing about him. He was a stranger with a lot of gold. An average looking human. Not wealthy looking though, considering the money he had. Bronwynn and Ishan have no luck with the other guests. No one pays too much attention to the comings and goings of busy inn and with the festival last night most everyone was more than a little inebriated. At the Sanctuary Tyari nods to the priest and he casts his spell. wisdom check for poison type: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 but he is unable to tell you any more than Ishan was. At the Tower Well he was pretty tangled up so we will use that lovely roll just to extricate him from the ropes. With great effort Nils manages to free Omast from the tangle of ropes around him and maneuver him in the direction of the Sanctuary. The entire way there Omast cries and mumbles, and fumbles at his jacket to get at the flask he has. At the Sanctuary They are greeted at the door by one of the acolytes and taken to Tyari who also happens to be holding audience with the rest of the group. Looking with some distaste at the drunken Omast, Tyari responds to your request to sober him up. We do not have anything prepared that would assist you magically, but I understand the Hungry Hydra brews a very strong coffee that may hurry the natural process.
I am going to make you roll it. The rules state: Taking 20 means you are trying until you get it right, and it assumes that you fail many times before succeeding. You would not know if you got it right or wrong. You either roll high enough and get it right or you don't roll high enough and potentially get it wrong or don't know. If you were using alchemy I would let you take 20 because you could keep testing.
At Ramblehouse It is obvious that Cham is hiding something. With reluctance she retrieves the guest ledger and hands it to Raevon. I swear, I didn't see anyone with Rodrik or near his room! She crinkles her nose with disgust as she mentions, Most of my other guests were thuggish group that rented nearly all of my rooms last week. They checked out late yesterday but I wasn't able to rent their rooms last night because they basically destroyed them! The ledger reveals one item of note. The last entry is for a room rented before Rodrik checked in for the evening but contains no name. When questioned about this Cham breaks into sobs, He refused to give me his name, and he paid me in a fistful of gold He said he would be gone before sunrise. I didn't ask any more questions, I had no idea that something like this would happen! At the Longhouse Jagrin Grath refuses to see anyone. He is locked in his room and is overcome with grief. Kurst looks wearied by the days events but looks at the knife you have found. I imagine it is his knife. There was nothing special about it that I recall, but they aren't used for everyday, I didn't see it often. He relates that is could even have been a new one. I myself have had to get a replacement for a lost blade.
At the Sanctuary In response to asking about detect poison Tyari sends for one one the trainee priests. We do have someone who knows that spell. The result of the casting reveals a faint aura. Detect magic reveals nothing.

It is speaking to her state of mind, and the fact that she doesn't want a murder to have taken place in her establishment; she was hoping it was suicide. It is not an indication of her reaction to Raevon per se. I am also trying to give hints with her body language.
At Ramblehouse
This was Rodrik’s third night here. He usually stays at the Longhouse; I don’t know what brought him here. I didn’t notice anyone with Rodrik last night. I was very busy though, with the celebration and all. I’m sure everyone else would answer the same. My guests and lodgers are not a nosy bunch. She states, ignoring the contrary evidence of human nature.
Inside the room in addition to the furniture, cot, desk and chair, there is a water pitcher and glass on the desk. A thorough search reveals a hope knife on the floor, laying in a puddle of blood and fairly thoroughly covered in the stuff. Under the bed, wedged between the frame and the wall, is a receipt. Mornighawk Fine Steel Receipt
The window was latched and the door locked. Cham confirms she unlocked it when going to give Rodrik his wakeup call. The locks are very basic though and it is likely that an apprentice burglar would have had no trouble with them. At the Longhouse
Brinya looks somewhat surprised by the question. Distressed? I wouldn't say that. Disappointed in his father's reaction to us but hardly surprised by it. Without warning Brinya breaks down sobbing, It's all my fault! she cries, We fought, I yelled at him, said I didn't want to see him! Now he's dead! I will never get to take back those words. She continues to sob uncontrollably. A sharp knock on the door precedes Tegan entering the room. I think Brinya needs a little peace right now. Her look clearly indicates you should go as she goes over to Brinya and pulls her close into a comforting hug while she continues to sob on Tegan's shoulder.
It takes Brinya a moment to fully comprehend the words of the scruffy looking half-orc in front of her. Her mind is scattered and reeling from the news of her fiance's death she received just over an hour ago. Eventually the words begin to make sense and tears again begin to stream down her face, running through the tracks established in the previous hour. With a shuddering sigh she struggles to compose herself. I..I want to help in anyway I can, please, come in. She leads Ishan to a small table with two chairs. She sits in one, obviously expecting him to take the other, but keeping her emotions in check have made her forget other niceties and she seems almost in a daze.
Tegan doesn't even bother to look at the letter Ishan is trying to proffer but steps aside to let him in. With a withering look she points him to a door at the end of the hall and goes off grumbling about respect, heartlessness and other inaudible things. Ishan's knock reveals Brinya on the other side of the door. Her face is wracked with grief and stained with tears.

This sparse room contains only a single cot and a writing desk. The cot is a cheap affair with a straw-stuffed mattress, now stained red with blood soaked through its linens, while the desk is a slightly nicer piece of furniture that has nonetheless been chipped and worn by time. A cracked window in the southern wall is the only exit other than the room’s door. Brinya Kelver/

Agrit lowers her head in a silent prayer for Rodrik. At the mention of the scrolls Raevon wants she raises an eyebrow, but doesn't put her thoughts to words. The first one I can easily make for you myself, the second is you may wish to speak to High Priestess Tyari about, but I think that spells of that nature may be forbidden to her. I can try to acquire it but it may take weeks or months. She considers for a moment then seems to reach a decision. If you are wishing to speak with Rodrik, I can cast the spell for you. I wouldn't normally disturb the resting but your requests are indicating that foul play was involved and I can not in good conscience let a murderer escape justice. I would have to study on it but I could do it tomorrow.
Agrit greats Raevon but seems a little less cheerful than usual, no doubt because of the gossip swirling around. Before he can even get his questions out she queries him, Is is true what they are saying? Is Rodrik dead? In regards to scrolls she replies a bit sheepishly, Well all we have right now is magic weapon and divine power, but I can make to order most basic stuff if you give me some lead time.

I am going to have to force a bit of stuff to get you all together; please just go with it. Anyone who did not indicate they took any notice of the morning's events is assumed not to have. Raevon finds Bronwynn at her favorite noshery, The Hungry Hydra, known more for it's filling fare than ambiance, enjoying breakfast. In fact it seems that a lot of the citizenry can be found here as Cham, proprietress of Ramblehouse, is not serving breakfast this morning and maybe not even lunch if the scuttlebutt can be believed. She is already seated with Ugula and Bhox, who also enjoy the generous portions the place provides, when Raevon walks in. He joins them at their table where they are reliving their victories of the night before, seemingly oblivious to the tragedy that has the town in a tizzy. Raevon barely gets his greetings out when Ishan and Nils walk in looking a bit at loose ends. I'll let you have a brief chance to say or do anything if you like before I continue.
The room is surprisingly quiet. Aside from Jagrin's exclamation of "No" upon first entering you can not make out any words. In fact it does not seem like anything is being said but unless your ears are deceiving you you think you hear some muffled sobs. Jagrin's bursting out of the room almost knocks you over but he says nothing to you. Once the priestess arrives there is finally something to hear, although slightly muffled. I'm so sorry.Tyari murmurs. Is there nothing... a distressed male voice counters in a hopeless sort of tone; everyone in that room recognizes death. I'm sorry You can hear Tyari again say. We will care for him now. Soon everyone emerges, the body being carried by the two guards with Tyari leading the way and Kurst bringing up the rear. Kurst's eyes are red and troubled. As they pass Raevon, Kurst looks up at his words but they barely seem to register, he offers a nod absently and continues on.
