I learned a lot over the last few days. Most of it not good. Important life lesson though: Always have a Last Will and Testament.
Alright, while you all check in over the next few hours I'll be at work. I'll get the Campaign Info tab done tonight and we can start the game in just a few days once I can get things lined up better in real life. While checking in, try to work out a way that you all know each other. Doesn't have to be much more than "met on the road into town" but it's better than "So you all meet in a tavern."
Okay, so I know it's a little early, but I did a lot of thinking last night and here are the folks being brought to the game. Just to show just how tough it was, I am bumping it up to 6 players! Now, please know that if you weren't picked it isn't because I felt your character was lacking in some way. I've ran several game and I have to say that this is one of the hardest choices I've had to make. And now, with no further waiting: Bonsai - Deku Scrub Inquisitor (Immolator)
I wish those not chosen the best of luck in their current and future gaming ventures. Those chosen, we'll be opening Discussion here shortly! See you then.
Arcane
Good point on the rounds, this has been a little nuts battle-wise. Yes it is now round three. Yes, Torbin, you may scramble to a little nook in the wall to avoid the waters if you wish. As Nariella rounds the corner, her arrow flies true, catching one goblin in the back. Screaming in pain and anguish, it turns and scrambles towards her as the other, now all by their lonesome, tries to finish demolishing the small rock wall to flood the intruders out. Closing the, goblin pulls a curved blade from it's waist and slashes at the Elven archer.
Peren's sword bites deep into the creature but as he swings with his second blade it's a miss as it sinks to the floor, a crossbow bolt now embedded in it's forehead. It's hood falls back to reveal a scarred face of a bugbear, anger etched into it's every line. Further up stream, the sounds of rocks moving can be heard as the water appears to be rising once more!
@Arrius: He is now on the ground between the two downed goblins. The creature roars out as the arrows from Nariella, the bolt from Torbin and Arrius catch them. Raising their javelin, they chuck it at Arrius in a fit of rage before closing on Peren (allowing Peren to attack him immediately). Spear Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Okay! So lots of great entries so far, liking what I'm seeing. Going to be extremely difficult to narrow it down to form a group, I will say that! Oh, and an updated list: Arcane
Cant wait to see the last of the entries. Remember, recruitment closes on the 27th!
Nalara wrote: I'm sorry I'm not done yet. I forgot how much equipment picking boggles me. How do you know what the right armor is? Or what would make a good weapon? (This is Talia.) Yeah, I'm still woefully incomplete... because I'm terrified of picking something useless. If you need any help, just ask. Is there anything in particular you have questions on?
Peren can, indeed, get to them, though one is dead and the other is unconscious and it would take two move actions to do so. As for positions: Nariella is just North of the one that jumped from the bridge, near the two that are either dead or unconscious, and a double move action from the two further north-east near where it looks like the stream starts. Everyone else is south of the creature who leaped from the bridge. Peren, you may edit your attack to focus bridge-dude, and I'll count the attacks made by Arrius and Nariella as against him as well
I'm going to help some folks real quick. This link connects to the information about the abilities granted by each race. You start with max GP for your class to be spent on equipment such as armor, weapons, etc. You need not spend all of it, and pick things out that fit your character concept. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask in thread or by PM to me.
Arcane
So far some really good submissions, though I will be sending some of you some PMs shortly about tweaks that need done (nothing major, just some minor edits and such). @Nadim Zant - Anything Paizo official is allowed within reason (I would doubt your character would blow every cent on ale and such). If you have any questions, just ask.
@Vincent Fleming: The Zora, I'm afraid, are finalized. Sorry. @TaliaKirana: Based on the games, there is quite a bit of differentiation in the Zora race. Slight variations are to be expected like any race. @ShubNiggurath's Cousin Al: Sounds hilarious! Can't wait to see it! @SinBlade6/Deshka: Can't wait to see the final form on the character profile. I'll add you to the list once you finalize and set it up. @Sarabian: It would be interesting to see, but I'd have to see how it plays out in the background so shoot me a draft by PM for review, okay? I'll be posting an updated list shortly!
Going to roll for Peren... Peren: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 Alright, and the average for the party is 13.5! Alright, as Torbin's powers manifest, the creature roars and attempts to dodge it. Dex save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 Ducking to the side, it prepares to rush forward! Nariella, Peren and Arrius may now act!
@Movin: While I agree that spell-resistance must be tracked, in groups I've played in I've never really experienced much of an issue. If you want, I can say that when a spell is beneficial to the player, you can lower the SR to 0 for a turn. @Sania/Warhawk7: Nice job on the paladin! I'll be sure to add them to the list next update.
TaliaKirana wrote: Ooh, this is cool. I want to roll up a Zora. I'm kind of thinking Oracle, because it looks interesting. I see her as a follower of Nayru, but I want to use the waves mystery. (I am kind of new to actually building characters... so I may make some mistakes.) If you have any questions, just ask. And I don't see why an Oracle who follows Nayru can't use the Waves mystery. After all, much knowledge and wisdom can come from the oceans.
And racial feats are done! That was really hard to do, but I feel they work really well. Can't wait to see some more submissions! So far we have the following: Lia Vantas - Hylian Bard (Arcane Duelist) - Eager Performer
@Warhawk: At character creation I don't have anything down really. Anything Pathfinder official. Parade Armor works well. As for a shield with the Hylian Crest, I would just use a heavy steel shield or a light steel shield, whichever you prefer. Funnily, the Hylian shield is a magical shield I'm statting out on the side!
Sandru, shaking his head to clear it, looks at Talin. "We'll talk later. I need to get to Sandpoint." Stepping over to Giovanni, he lightly pulls the man's hands from Shalelu. "Don't worry, she'll be fine." Shalelu smirks before gritting her teeth in pain. "It's true, I'll be fine. Just need ol' Koya to see to me." Patting Giovanni's shoulder, the Elf smiles at him. "You go watch over your friends." Sandru hops back up on the wagon, giving the reins a flick of the wrist.
As the goblins round the corner, one gets a rapier pierced right through it's arm, collapsing under shock. As the other loses it's balance, a bolt from Arrius catches it in the chest, where a gargling noise is heard before it splashes into the water. And combat is engaged! And don't worry, Nariella, someday the dice gods will smile on you outside of combat as well. As it hears the cry and gargle, the creature that had just jumped from the ridge roars. "Rhaash daan dral!" In Goblin:
"Break the dam!" Enemy Init:
Big guy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Little guys: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13 Go ahead and give me the init rolls everyone! Torbin: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
@Galahad: I like! It's a unique and more somber tone than Zelda is usually known for, but it really fits the campaign. @adsapiens: I'm almost done working on the racial feats and will post a list of them here shortly, but glad you liked the sneak peak. @Sarabian: Zelda is an awesome series. I am just two games shy of a complete collection of the games (and they are fairly expensive now). And that is an awesome tattoo to get! As for your character, I look forward to seeing it. Okay, also got the timeline more or less done. You can find it here. I'll be getting the map uploaded soon but warning: It's not labeled because reasons. Hopefully in time I can fix that...
@Dragoncat: I actually just finished it. It's a racial feat that works akin to the Squire feat. Here, I'll post the info. Fairy Companion - Kokiri, 3rd level - You gain a fairy companion (use stats for Sprite) that is the same alignment as you. While the fairy companion is with 30 feet of your character, both the character and the fairy companion gain a +2 to all Perception checks. At 7th level, the fairy companion and character gain a +2 to any one Knowledge check (chosen at 7th level) while within 30 feet of each other.
After several moments, the goblins are across the bridge and out of sight. The creature at the top of the bridge pulls out another javelin before hopping down from the bridge. Landing with a small grunt, it looks at Torbin and Peren. "Maybe I just take shinies!" It holds up it's javelin, pointing it at Peren. "Give me shinies now and I give human to you." Actions? Nariella, from where you are, the goblins that are carrying the human will see you in just a few moments, Arrius is still in the shadows and unseen by the creature and Peren and Torbin are about 15 and 20 feet away respectively.
@adsapiens: Sounds fun! Sounds like most people are wanting to play Gerudo or Kokiri! @Warhawk7: All of those sound fun and I'll allow the racial archetypes for those as well (since they fit really nicely). @JonGarrett: Either one works, just please only pick one though. @Dragoncat/Lia Vantas: Nice! I really like what you have done with them! And first submission, too! Well done!
@Torbin: Not readily, though Nariella knows of the two further ahead and you know there had to be at least one other from up ahead from the conversation you heard earlier. As Peren holds up the purse, the creature leans forward, the bridge creaking loudly under the weight. "How many shinies?" But it waves at the two goblins to start moving. Raising the human up, they start trying to drag him further across the bridge in the direction of the other Goblins.
@Morphling: I look forward to your choice! @Webb: Can't wait to see! @Newbonomicon: The reasons why will be explained in the timeline. I'm currently at work and can't post it (would have last night got caught up playing Zelda: Wind Waker trying to get more inspiration). @Dragoncat: Do any of the games make sense 'canonically'? As long as they're fun, I don't think Nintendo rightly cares. @Volkner: As ling as it's a fun character it should be fine. @Gambit: While the Warder looks fun, I want to stick to Paizo official classes, spells, feats and equipment. The races are about the biggest change, and monsters will be tweaked, but those are more on my end.
