I have a PC witch who has a patron of starless shadow. I have decided that the patron is Count Ranalc, one of the eldest. He has a connection to Nyrissa as her former lover that I feel will have some interesting connections and story hooks. Conversely he's not an NPC that directly shows up in the adventure so it gives me the freedom to make him what I want him to be to suit my player.

Thematically his personal anathema and edicts are more aligned with Starless Shadow but just by nature of being a eldest of the fae (and their inherent connection to primal magic) is probably enough to justify wildling steward if you like the reasoning for my selection.

agreed that Ranalc could be an interesting choice and I will probably keep them as an option. I had taken a look at all the eldest and was surprised that only one of them had a particular nature-ish vibe and I am not sure that The Green Mother's ideals would mesh well with the witch.

So I am GMing Kingmaker and one of my players is playing a witch of the wilding steward. I am trying to decide on a patron for them. I was considering Nyrissa, maybe the witch's familiar could be a fragment of Nyrissa (kind of like Briar) and it searched someone out to try and help Nyrissa in one way or another. Maybe the patron is a subordinate or ally of Nyrissa's from before she started destroying kingdoms and while this being can't take action against Nyrissa directly they want the witch as an agent for their goal of freeing Nyrissa. I would probably have the witch start to feel some kind of mental tug as they get farther along the in exploring the lost lands and get further along in the story and they wouldn't find out too much about their patron until the appropriate time so as to avoid spoiling things too early. I am slightly concerned about messing with such a core part of the story though so I am considering other options.

Does anyone have any suggestions on any beings in the pathfinder universe that would make a good witch of the wildings patron? Especially with this being a Kingmaker campaign I was thinking a fey being of some sort would be ideal but I am not super well versed in pathfinder lore yet. Also if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions on the Nyrissa idea and implementing it well I would love to hear them.

I spent a long time trying to figure out what you meant by the "wilding steward patron" before I finally figured out it's something to do with PF Second Edition.

Which is fine, but I don't know anything about the new patrons for 2E, and this is the 1E Kingmaker forum.

I suggest you repost your question in the 2E Kingmaker forum, where it's more likely to be seen by 2E players.

Woops, my bad. Thanks, I didn't realize they were separate forums
