Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Male Caementum Fighter 1

Before combat broke out, we traced our steps back to the group

Male Caementum Fighter 1

nope, wanderers only. You're looking mighty fine if I may say so Aishara, that shirt really suits you. Must be a bit of a change :P :O

Male Caementum Fighter 1

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Fortis shrugs with an embarrassed look on his face and walks back with Aishara.

"When you don't know where you're going, there's never a step in the wrong direction, though I suppose leaving everyone else back there wasn't the best idea, thanks"

Fortis offers a smile.

Fortis and Aishara retrace their steps and walk down the other pathway approaching the other party members, but doesn't make it in time to quite catch the dialogue.

Male Caementum Fighter 1

@DM Zack - Fortis just started walking in a direction.
Direction: 1=Left, 2=Right: 1d2 ⇒ 2 Right
Could you describe what he see's as he continues down the untraveled path?

Male Caementum Fighter 1

Fortis, completely lost at this point scratches the back of his head and starts walking.

(What was world of Warcraft without dancing like John Travolta when there was nothing better to do?)

Fortis, a bit startled, quickly turns and says
"Yes!"
In a louder than usual tone just as Bois begins speaking.

"Wow, this place is creeping me out. This isn't like me, relax Fortis!."

Male Caementum Fighter 1

Fortis, a bit thrown off by this whole ordeal is just trying to keep his eyes fixed on his surroundings.

"Yithzak, no need to worry. That's what you've hired us for. Any action by you or your mates is purely the last case scenario. We will take care of things."

"Right, that sounds great Aishara, I agree. Since this is our first job together, let's stick to the basics. Now, lets get a good look at each of these other sets of arches."

Am I correct in assuming that there are additional arches where these other peoples (ourselves???) are standing?

Male Caementum Fighter 1

With a smile, Fortis offers Valerie his arm.
"Let me take you to them"
If she accepts, Fortis will accompany/lead her to the closest group.

Male Caementum Fighter 1

"I don't mind talking with people, but I can't say I'm too good with words. I'll serve best to keep anyone safe who wants to wander off and inquire."

Male Caementum Fighter 1

Fortis smiles and walks forward. Without thinking about it, Fortis walks to the front line next to summer and gazes around.

Male Caementum Fighter 1

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 Do I get the sense that he's hiding something or lying about his cousins?

Darn knowledges.... my guy has no such skills to know about the Shmuel clan.
"Well Yithzak, it's a pleasure to meet you all. Well, I have no problem with them coming along, just depends on what you would expect from us in regards to just you or the three of you. Maybe we should discuss the fee. What are your expectations of us, and what are you offering in return for such services?"

Male Caementum Fighter 1

Reaver... You are not alone.

I guess we could say its the previous night... And well, Fortis had too much to drink, and the mode is right etc...

Male Caementum Fighter 1

Fortis arrives just on time the next morning to Akbar's.
"It's nice to see that you all made it! I'm interested to see what this day has in store for us."
Upon noticing the Dwarves, Fortis is quite obviously interested. Not too familiar with the customs of high society, Fortis loudly introduces himself to all three in a friendly manner.
"Good morning gents, you are correct. We were referred to you by Akbar. As Summer said, I am Fortis."
Fortis reaches his arm out, offering a grasp of friendship to his newly found employer. Any watching eye would notice just how dense Fortis' hands are. While not so dry, they are hardened by long years of hard work, and by his earthy physique. While still fleshy, his skin has a much more dull coloring, closer to the look of a stone with a warm reddish tint.
Looking over at the two other Dwarves Fortis says
"Will your two companions also be joining us today?"

Male Caementum Fighter 1

Fortis draws a simple map of how to get there and folds it up in his pack.

"Okay, let's all regroup here at 11:00 tomorrow. Sound good everyone?"

Male Caementum Fighter 1

"Akbar, how might we get in contact with this client of yours?"

Male Caementum Fighter 1

A job you say? Well that's great! I'm a bit short on coin right now and could use a job or two. I'm handy with weaponry, so I will aid in protecting him. What can you tell us about the risk, and the reward? Also, what is the name of the deity he is in search of?"
Fortis is obviously excited at the prospect of freelance employment.
He turns to Valerie.
"That is so intriguing, I don't care what anybody says. I am interested in witnessing your affinity that you speak of."

Male Caementum Fighter 1

"Yes Summer, that's right. A fisherman by trade but I am a weapons enthusiast. I've got a nice collection that I carry with me. I'm not very skilled yet, but what I lack in skill I make up for in strength."
Fortis shows no obvious signs of boasting. He seems to really believe what he's telling you.

Male Caementum Fighter 1

"Martial training? Hardly! I'm a fisherman by trade, though I don't dare guess what kind of fishing goes on around here. I'm on a trip searching for someo...hing, though the plane of fire wasn't my intended destination. I don't plan on spending too much time here, but who knows!" It's apparent that Fortis purposely moved past his slip up in speech, and isn't interested in talking about it.
"My appologies Valerie, I cut you off. Here have a seat."
Fortis notices the cataracts over Valerie's pupils and pulls out a chair from the table and opens his other hand palm up, inviting her to sit.

Male Caementum Fighter 1

A smile comes to Fortis' face, as he intently follows Aishara's sweeping gestures and words, completely forgetting that she is now exposing her herself, now more than before.
"That's simply amazing! I've never witnessed divine power, or maybe I've just never noticed it."

Fortis scans the room to take note of the other patrons reactions to the noticeable gathering going on at his table.

Perception1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

Male Caementum Fighter 1

I suppose a hook might help... whenever you think we've made our acquaintances.

Male Caementum Fighter 1

DM Zack, we miss you!

Male Caementum Fighter 1

Fortis is now noticeably turning red. As Aishara lifts the tray to her chest,he directs his eyes directly to hers:
"Not a problem Aishara, I understand that hard work is what it takes to earn an honest living. Did I hear you say armor strapped and sword at your hip? I'm a bit of a weapons guy myself."

Well, we're going nuts in the Gameplay thread when you're ready!

Male Caementum Fighter 1

Thanks to the cooling device, Fortis beings to cool down a bit, but continues to sweat oddly enough.
Quite the dress code they got going on around here, wouldn't you say?" as he loosens the collar of shirt.

"A pleasure to meet you too Bois, the name's Fortis. I didn't mean to offend about the whole mask thing. And you as well, Summer. What brings each of you to Akbars?"

Male Caementum Fighter 1

"Well, I admit, that's not uncommon of my people, and I'm not from around here. So how do people make their way around this place without drying up? Maybe one of those would help, where can I get my hands on one?"
Fortis raises his hand to his face mimicking the motion of putting on a mask, as if implying it's some kind of breathing aid for the hot climate.

Male Caementum Fighter 1

After a long day of travel, Fortis plops down into a chair, while wiping the sweat off of his forhead. He orders a tall glass of his favorite drink: Lemondade.
"Ahhhhhh, this region is criminally hot!"
Fortis looks around to see peoples reaction to his attempt at making some kind of joke.

With not much left to do for the day, Fortis begins to observe the people as they enter the Cafe.
"I wonder why so many people would come to this place?" he thinks to himself.

@Lordzack, when do you see us getting started?

I am ready...
