As the Pathfinders take to the road, Fingo looks at the collapsed Inn disappearing in the distance, lost in thoughts.
Do you think that she came here for this artifact? Dehliana, I mean. Or did she just take the opportunity to try and avoid the consequences of her actions? It is such a... drastic choice to make. Though maybe she did not know how the artifact would twist her wish...
Fingo sighs wistfully.
Maybe she just wanted divine magic? Silly to hope for a consequence-free boon from Chelaxian artifacts though...

Thanks for running us through the end of the scenario!
Here is my info:
Player Name: Arthog
Character Name: Fingo Canvas
PFS Number: 2406402-2004
Faction: Grand Archive
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Other dais question... can we see her from the room (for Fingo, probably after talking a stride away from the wall)?
What I'd like to do is Stride then Divine Lance (60ft range). Ideally from within Corona's Bless aura.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Coughing blood and barely standing, Fingo decides to stop messing with the Ascendant and just Heal himself.
Two action Heal: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (7, 3) + 16 = 26
Is there a way for Fingo to use his third action to RK about what is happening on the dais, and how that might impact this encounter? Religion+8 maybe?
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Yes, let's HP that, forgot I had two...
Grapple heroically?: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Fingo heroically... finds himself knocked to the ground by the Ascendant. Decidedly not his most epic fight. With a wince, Fingo stands and Cast Shield on himself.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Fingo reaches a hand towards the Ascendant, attempting to Grapple her.
Grapple vs Fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Waiting to see if this is a crit failure what the Ascendant does :-(
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Fingo moves closer to the dais. The visage of Annavinia's ancestor takes a mocking grin as he advances, taunting the devil.
You HAD to go and sell your soul as soon as we found the artifact. I am tempted to just let you go, and see how free you feel when you meet your new masters. You are but a peddler of pithy tricks. Do you think you can possily thrive in Hell? No one there will take you seriously.
◆Stride, ◆Bon Mot, ◆Demoralize with Versatile Performance, Intimidating Prowess
Diplomacy Bon Mot against Ascendant Will DC: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Performance to Demoralize against Ascendant Will DC: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 1 = 13

Seeing the zombies converge on the group, Fingo grabs his rose pendant and a burst of positive energy envelops all zombies and Pathfinders.
positive: 2d8 ⇒ (2, 7) = 9
3-action Heal; healing for living creatures, dc18 basic Fort save undead, only the Ascendant is out of reach
Can anyone get to her?
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Fantastic. Well, except for having to participate in a ritual involving human blood. That's not really in my usual prayer book. But I suppose that if it helps make this Inn a better place, Shelyn shall forgive.
After gathering the blood vials, Fingo puts his Persona Mask on, bringing the mask into a likeness of Annavinia's ancestor - as well as he can from the portrait he has seen, at least. He raises an eyebrow at the Carnelian Signet.
Fire seems to be your domain. Would you do the honors? Unless someone would rather we do not go ahead with the ritual? he adds, pointedly not looking at Annavinia.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
We never got anything from the notes right?
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Just assuming we took time to heal works for me
At the Carnelian Signet's question, Fingo gives the artifact a more in-depth look, though keeping his hands off the object.
Religion +8 ?
Well. I'm not sure I want to get too close to it... Given its nature, destroying it seems safer, somehow. And for that, we know that we will need those blood vial in Annavinia's chambers, but besides that... Fingo gives the notes from the lounge an annoyed look, then stops, sighs, and looks at Zirzip.
Would translating documents from Infernal to Common be within the range of things that you can do for us?
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
I have a feeling this could attract the wrong type of attention. We should patch our wounds before doing anything with the artifact.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Right. Well, I suppose preventing further murders would be worth... temporarily... taking advantage of your cooperative nature. This artifact then, to follow our dear Bruce's line of though: would it be fair to say that we should not go back to the upstairs area? And your master... would you say that we would be wrong to assume that he is from this plane of existence?
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Will Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Fingo manages to catch some air despite the suddenly humid atmosphere of the bathroom. He ◆Sustains his spell, keeping the pythons calm, before resorting to a prayer to Shellyn, hoping that the goddess can help him quiet the haunt. (◆◆Disable Haunt)
Religion to Disable: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
If the door is opened, Fingo will Stride into the room next to the Carnelian Signet for his third action (he unfortunately can't open it himself from where he is). Otherwise, he will not use his third action.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Fingo continues to focus his magical energy on the snakes, ◆sustaining the calming spell. He then ◆attempts to learn more about the haunt.
I think Fingo should be down 15hp from door damage
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
I can keep them quiet for a minute while we figure out what's going on with this room...
We should be able to focus on the haunt while they are pacified, I think.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Hoping... to appease at least a few of them... Fingo answers, straining to impose his will on the beasts.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Actually, I don't think my turn changes much with position, so here we go:
What the... snakes? How did that... ok... take it easy there. No need to fight us.
After a few seconds, Fingo recovers from his confusion and ◆Strides in view of all the snakes before ◆◆Casting Calm Emotions.
Calm Emotion (Emotion, Incapacitation, Mental, Enchantment) DC 18 Will Save. 10ft burst should cover all snakes and no party members if centered NW of Yellow; if a Stride is not needed to see that point, Fingo will ◆Cast Shield as his third action

Failure; I'll wait to see where Fingo ends up before acting.

Fingo idly starts munching on a few dried fruits, humming along as the search continues.
Well. At least, we won't starve for a while. Should we finish our canvasing of this floor before heading downstairs?
Fingo points towards the bathroom area.

Helping to gather the rations, Fingo follows the group towards the pantry; taking care to close the kitchen door behind the party.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
We should certainly try the few rooms we haven't searched, indeed. I'd say that we should also keep all doors closed or, better if we can, locked. I don't fancy that imp running from room to room ahead of us.
Fingo will do back to Searching, by the way, considering the magical interferences.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
I was thinking there are enough of us to link arm and sweep the width of a room, one by one... which physically should work better than individuals searching independently. But there is no clear pf2 mechanics for that, for sure.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
No worries, mystery scenarios sometimes need some tricks like that to work :-)
Well. It certainly looks like we need to find Zirzip... They seem to have a lot to answer for. And they might be invisible, but not immaterial. I hope? There are enough of us to go through this Inn room by room, and making sure that we can eventually corner them. Right?
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Did Fingo's Detect Magic ping anything while the axe was visible, or does it seem to be a non-magical spectral apparition?
Medicine (for RP only): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
He could have killed him... Nordvick, why you would think that having a body under your bed is less suspicious than in a grave is beyond me. Honestly, that was not the wisest life decision. I guess that's not our most pressing issue here but, man, you do have some things to answer for here...
Fingo then nods to the Carnelian Signet.
Yes. Let's finish our first sweep of the rooms. Hopefully we do not find yet another corpse.
+1 for looking at the last room

After going around the room in search of magic (Detect Magic), Fingo turns to Nordvick.
What... what kind of madness is this?

Leaving Dehliana's room, Fingo finds himself a little shocked by the casual use of violence employed by the fake seer to cover her tracks. With the more mundane part of the mystery apparently solved, he decides to pay a bit more attention to the magical.
Switch exploration activity as he leaves Dehliana's room and moves to Selik's: Repeated Cast of Detect Magic
He briefly considers a magical exploration of the history of the teddy bear, then decides that this would be a waste of resources and instead chooses not the comment on Selik's endearing secret.

Sounds good Fingo answers the Carnelian Signet.
Out of earshot of Annavinia, Fingo will add to the Pathfinders:
If you find an object that has been in clear contact with the killer... maybe the dagger used to kill Kellvan, or something similar... let me know. I have another scroll that could be useful.
He flashes a Scroll of Object Reading.
Just the one though, and there are a lot of weird things around here... we'll have to choose.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Nice work. A deep dive into history there.
Fingo says, winking at Annavinia. As he looks at the blood to assess its origins (Human? Humanoid? Animal? Medicine+8 if needed), Fingo continues
That imp you have been talking to. He might now more about our ghost, if they were serving him. Do you know how we could talk with them? No worries, we won't pry into the object that you are looking for. Only our inquiry into recent events.
”Fingo Canvas” | Male NG Human Cleric 4 | HP 44/44 | AC 20 | F +9 R +6 W +10 | Perc +8 | Default Exploration (Detect Magic) | Speed 25ft | Active Conditions: None
Interesting observation for sure. Fingo answers on a whisper. Then, turning to Annavinia:
It would be good to check that our ghost has not taken too keen an interest in your lodgings. The Carnelian Signet is right, they have more reason to try to interact with you than with anyone else.

Fingo approaches Kellvan's body, attempting to perform a rudimentary autopsy.
Medicine +8
As he works, he speaks calmly to Nordvick:
No need to panic. But we do need to know everything you know about these deaths. How long ago did they happen? Who were there? Could they be due to the ghost we just fought, or did they seem more like... poor Kellvan here, very humanoid assassinations?

While following the group to Kellvan's room, Fingo points at the painting and asks Annavinia:
This would be your ancestor, the founder of this inn?

Fingo thanks Kidron and Hancock for their care. As they work, he gives the research notebook a curious look; but finds himself incapable of making sense of it.
Fingo doesn't have good out of combat healing, so unless something happens while we recover, he'll save his Heal spells for potential combat.

Reaction to shield block 5 point of damage
Fingo quickly reads the scroll, then scans the area around the group.
Third action to point out if the ghost if visible; otherwise he'll move out of the flying items...

Retcon...
Fingo ◆Extends his Bless aura and ◆Cast Shield. He then swears under his breath, remembering that scroll he put away in his coat's back pocket two months ago. He sheepishly ◆Draws the scroll.

I think that the spell can only target the caster. So getting to point out in a turn will be tough, yes...

Ok, let's see where we are at after the ghost's turn... Cal being able to see it would be better than Fingo, overall, but that would take your whole turn.

I should have reread my inventory... Fingo had a scroll of See Invisibility. He can use it next turn, unless one of our striker can make better use of it maybe (if they can use scrolls)?

Fingo, likes Hancock, hears devil and immediately think Cheliax. Hard not to, after his recent experience in that country. He instinctively moves to Annavinia's side. Remembering his act, he asks with feigned nonchalance
Well, that's not my devil, I'm afraid. Do you think it could be yours or you ancestor's, my Lady?
