Felinder sat, his hands in front of his mouth as he listened. The convenient hand position made hiding his smirk much easier. Here was a man, a noble no less, asking him to help overthrow a government. He was basically asking Felinder to help build a government for himself.
"Friend, if what you say is true, then it is my duty... nay, my CALLING to see this heinous devil-humper brought low by his own hubris!"
"Though..." Felinder leaned back, his smirk slightly shrinking, "I hope you don't think this whole thing will be won by holding hands and singing happy songs. This is gonna get bloody eventually. But don't worry, I'm certain we can keeps things nice and clean for as long as possible."
He then leaned forward, grinning. "After all, what better tool is there to slay a devil than a silver tongue?"
Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
Felinder had continued to flip absentmindedly through his blue book as he followed the assorted crowd to their new location. As Felinder looked over the house, he smirked.
"Be honest, boy, do you think your parents would appreciate if I told them all the ways someone could rob this place, or would that be considered tacky?"
Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
Felinder can't help but grin at Trisha's reaction to their income. "Well, if the beautiful lady's reaction means anything, I think we may have enough gold to treat ourselves a little. I think we've all done our good deeds for the day, and good Samaritans deserve a good rest. But where to put ourselves up..."
As Felinder wonders allowed, he pulls out a little blue book and begins flitting through it.

Indeed. I love Paizo, but I swear their servers are help together with silly string and used chewing gum.

Tasha Valenti wrote: As they leave the corner, she looks around with a bemused face, that turns into a wide grin, as she turns to Felinder. "Excellent work, Deputy Dottarius Felix.", she gives the Varisian man a pat on the back. Maybe a harder one than necessary, but still a friendly one. "Oh. If this is usually this much fun, I can understand why swindlers are so common." Felinder gave a cough of surprise as his back was slapped. He quickly recovered, chuckling. "What can I say? There's a certain charm to using a numbskull's gullibility against them."
Lonnie Maldron wrote: "That was acting fit for the finest of operas. Tasha, Felinder, good job. Because of you two a few less pints of blood have been spilled today." Felinder gave a small bow. "Thank you, thank you, but the praise isn't necessary. I only did what any other strikingly handsome and brilliant man would do in my position if they were also graced with my wits and charm."
GM SilentSage wrote: "That's better. Thanks for that timely rescue. Truth is this meeting was no coincidence though. Ran a bit late, but I followed you from the protest. Once the panic started, I lost track of you and got myself mixed up with those thugs from the Chelish Citizens Group. You've proved yourselves to be people of uncommon skill, and right now, I am a man of uncommon needs."
"Anyway, introductions. My name is Rexus Victocora, and until last week’s Night of Ashes, I was one of this city’s nobles. What may a I call my uncommon rescuers?"
When he heard the term noble, it was all Felinder could do to stop from drooling and seeing gold in his eyes. He quickly stepped forward.
"Mister Victocora! A pleasure to meet one of the finer folks of Kintargan life! Allow me to introduce myself; Felinder Zelix, man of the world, master of finesse, and wanderer of fate. I am most pleased that I could be here to save you in your most dire time of need."

Felinder was more than happy at bunch of coins. But he knew if he just took those and left, he'd be looking at a swift beating from his fellows.
"Constable Valenti, can you confirm their bribe falls in line with Dottari Code, Section I, Subsection 5(x), Correct Amounts And Procedures For Bribing Officials of Deputy Rank?"
He then stopped and took a look at the victim. His eyes shot open.
"Wait a minute... That's the suspect in the 1D10T against Lord-Mayor! Lord-Mayor Thrune has a special doghouse being built for him as we speak!"
"Tell you boys what, leave the gold and this... Hooligan with us, and we'll overlook this little paperwork issue, savy?"

Tasha Valenti wrote: Plan seems solid to me! Not sure if Isabelle is trying to cast the spell without them noticing, though, that could ruin the Bluff plan, but the Bluff could also help them distract them long enough for it to take place.
I'll go ahead and try and help Zelinder with my piddly Bluff, I suppose.
If they notice the spell, Felinder will claim it's a new Dottari policy to have a non-lethal detainment focused spell prepared in the case of dealing with a potentially violent situation. So long as they keep calm, nothing will happen, but if they react hostily, the "non-lethal" part is null and void.

GM SilentSage wrote: As some of you round the corner, you can see no less than 5 thugs similar to the ones you saw at the protest (along with their downed brothers around them) standing over a nearly unconscious citizen . The citizen himself is a somewhat dapper and fashionable looking bearded man in a courtier's outfit with a white glove over one hand. Kinda handsome, even if he's gotten the tar beat out of him. While one of the thugs continued to beat his victim, their leader turned to the ones approaching from the front. "You forget a thousand things every day, friends. Make sure this is one of them." He warned, flourishing his mace threateningly at the lot.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Felinder quickly stepped forward, his smirk gone for once. He looked right at the leader.
"Kintargo Dottari. Plain Clothes. Do you have your mandated House Thrune Macing License?"
Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
I'll allow everyone a chance to either agree with or attempt to derail Felinder's plan before I actually go ahead with anything.

Lonnie Maldron wrote: "I'm sorry Felinder, but I wont let them hurt that person any more than they already have." Felinder raised a hand. "Woah, woah, there, friend. You don't want them to hurt them anymore? Then let me handle this. Give me a moment, and I'll make sure they're away from the poor guy. You guys go in their swinging, and you're just giving them an excuse to take him as a hostage."
"If a few of us go around while I distract them, we have them flanked, and we stop them from putting a knife to the guy's throat and using him as cover as they just run out the other side."
Felinder gave a small shrug. "Trust me. It's what I would do."

Arno Devarax wrote: Tasha Valenti wrote: "I think... Arno, correct? You are able to mend wounds, correct?", she throws a glance at Arno. "And cause them, too. Flexibility is a good thing, wouldn't you say, Felinder? Especially of the moral variety." Arno stares at Felinder. "Er, Felinder... How did you get hurt?"
Arno extends his hand to shake Felinder's. "My name is Arno Devarax. I'm sure I'm pleased to meet you," he says, unable to hide the sarcasm in his tone.
If Felinder shakes Arno's hand, he grips Felinder's hand firmly, casting Cure Light Wounds on Felinder, substituting out a Compel Hostility spell. "I received a callous blow while defending a box of orphaned puppies from those Thrunie bastards. No need to thank me."
Felinder was more than happy to take a hand, but he would be lying if he said he wasn't a tad disappointed at the resulting healing. Still, never look a gift horse in the mouth.
Arno Devarax wrote: After hearing the conflict in a nearby alleyway to the south, Arno motions everyone to silence.
"Quiet. I hear something. Couple Thruneys attacking, trying to kill someone. Not sure what the right thing to do here is but help or run, whatever we do, it should be quick."
Felinder crouched. "Hmm... Right thing to do...."
Fishing his coin out of his pocket, Felinder looked down. "Honestly, I'd be more than happy to get some revenge on these Thrunies, but how should we go about it?"
"What do you think, coin? Vengeance through blade, or vengeance though words?"
As the coin landed, Felinder smiled. "I've got a plan. Leave the talking to me. While I do so, some of you head around the building to the other side of the alley. If things get dicey, be ready to run in and start a beat down."
Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
Felinder stopped his running, leaning over with hands on his knees as he took some deep breaths.
"That... that was quite the little raucous... Any... Anyone here have a bit of a pick me up? I'm afraid this gaping head wound is leaving me a tad under the weather."

Lonnie Maldron wrote: Seeing Felinder being propped up by Johann sends another pang of nausea through Lonnie. I didn't even stop too check on him. "I'm sorry. I didn't even stop to check on you, even after seeing them..." His gaze drifts to Felinder's gash. "I'm sorry." Felinder gave Lonnie one of his rakish smiles. "No need to apologize, good sir. The bad guys are down, and I am very much alive, for which I assure you the whole world is thankful."
Tasha Valenti wrote: Tasha chuckles at Zelinder's jests. "Ooh, delightful. Do I owe you something for that information, or is this one free?" "Consider this one a free donation to the art of reporting. Spreading the word of truth is its own reward."
Tasha Valenti wrote: "I try to get the truth out there, Zelix, and at the very least you're not a local. Might put you in if you have the incentive to do some heroics later on, though.", she goads the man. Felinder put a hand to his chin. "Hmm... Good point. How about Handsome Worldly Gentleman Nearly Slain Defending Justice?
Johann Sharpe wrote: "I can assure you, Felinder didn't help anyone here. That requires a level of selflessness he isn't capable of." Felinder gave a small mock gasp. "Why, Inquisitor, I am shocked! I played the distraction, taking one for the team in the name of truth, justice, and Chelaxian way. You should be clambering to give me a medal for that kind of heroism. Gold, preferably, not silver. I'm more of an autumn."
Tasha Valenti wrote: "So... I'm not looking to fight that woman when she walks out. Or Thrune's elite guard following her. I suggest we skedaddle?" Johann Sharpe wrote: "Retreat sounds wise... But we need to clear this crowd out, too. We can't convince them all to seek safety, but it might be worth trying." GM SilentSage wrote: As the beast came into view and flames were spewed, pretty much everyone in the crowd decided that enough was enough and it was time to bail. Those that could fled in droves while those who couldn't were ready to be arrested on the spot by the guards. This didn't exactly feel like a fight worth winning now.
The arrival of the hellhound was the first thing to succesfully(if temporarily) break Felinder's smarmy grin. He didn't know what a hell hound was, but it didn't take a degree in alternate planar entities to know that a fire breathing doggy was bad news.
"I think Thrune's pet there is doing a fine job dispersing the crowd without us, Inquisitor. Perhaps we'd best do the same, eh?" Felinder blurted out before beginning to hustle away.

Johann Sharpe wrote: "I'm not in the mood for your sass, Felinder." he growled back through gritted teeth. "Do us both a favor and make yourself scarce. You're at death's door and I have more important people to protect then you." Felinder mockingly put a hand to his chest. "Why, Inquisitor, I'm shocked. Normally, you can't seem to get enough of chasing me, and yet here I am, and you're telling me to leave. I'm hurt, I truly am.
Tasha Valenti wrote: "Ha! Felinder Zelix, future king of the underworld himself.", a sarcastic note leaves her smiling lips, before she sees the obviously wincing man. "I'm assuming the wounded ruse is a part of a master plan to lull them into a false sense of security?" Staggering slightly as he took his hand off of Johan, Felinder stepped forward. "Ah, the delightful Ms. Valenti. I think I may have your next major headline; Dashing Local Hero Nearly Slain Protecting The Innocent At Aria Park Riot. You like it? I think it has a certain ring to it."
Tasha Valenti wrote: "Tasha Valenti. Pleased to meet you, wish it was in better circumstances." Felinder stood up as straight as he could. "Ms. Valenti, allow me to introduce Inquisitor Johann Sharpe. Stubborn as a mule, and sharpe as a marble. We go way back."
Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
Feeling confident that he'd managed to avoid the brunt of things, Felinder groggily rose to his feet, placing a hand on the shoulder of the man next to him to brace himself.
"Woo... Good job there, my burly compa..."
Felinder stopped short after realizing just who he was bracing against. He then put on the largest sh*t-eating grin his pounding head could manage.
"Afternoon, Inquisitor. Hope you're enjoying the riot as much as I am."
Move Action: Stand up
Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
Consider I'm A. unarmed, and would provoke an attack of opportunity right back, B. prone, thus taking a -4 to my AC against said attack, C. incapable of doing more than 6 nonlethal damage if I rolled full damage on a critical, and D. one more good hit away from bleeding out my last on the streets of Kintargo, unloved and unmourned... yeah, that attack of opportunity ain't happening.
Felinder knew when the chips were against him. He lay as still as he could, playing the part of an unconscious corpse as long as it benefited him.
Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
GM SilentSage wrote: Felinder, on the other hand, wasn't as lucky. One good swing was all it took to turn him from a quick little bunny to a staggering sloth. Still, that coin must've had some good luck in it since a clean mace to the head could've done much more. Felinder really felt the blow, and he barely remained conscious. But he quickly realized continuing to stand was going to invite another blow, and he didn't expect his luck to hold out, so...
"Buh... Just a little off the top. Keep the sideburns," he slurred out before dropping to the ground, feigning unconsciousness.
Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
At this point, Felinder started thinking that a quick exit was the better idea. But there was something keeping him from doing so.
It was probably the one Chelish Citizens Grouper standing right next to him. The opportunity was too great.
He reached out, tapping the man on the shoulder. As he turned, he made a fist before swinging at his head.
... And he flubbed it spectacularly.
Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
Felinder smiled as he quietly pocketed the remneants of his haul. He was prepared to make another go around when the Lord-Mayor finally made his presence known.
Felinder took a moment from his procurement of funds to listen.
He didn't expect anything good to come from a Thrune, but a little knowledge on what the town was about to undertake would be useful. But as Thrune spoke, Felinder could feel the energy of the crowd getting worse.
Knowledge(Local): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Squassation? That's an old maritime punishment. First time Thrune's thrown out a specific punishment for this kind of thing...
As the crowd started riling up, Felinder started glancing around. He didn't reach for a weapon, as the last thing he needed right now was someone to see him pull a knife and make things worse.
Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
There was a level of satisfaction in Felinder's walk as the Thrunies finally shut up. The kind of satisfaction that made him decided his best course of action was to pay himself for his hard work in making the world a quieter, less Thrunie place.

Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
As the second hour rolled around, Felinder found his nerves being a little ruffled by the Thrune loyalists. Once again, he pulled his coin from his pocket.
"Alright, old buddy, what do you think I should do? Get these Thrunies to shut, up just help myself to whatever's in their pockets?"
But before he flipped it, he stopped.
"... You know what? I don't think I'll need your help this time," he said as he put the coin back in his pocket before approaching the loyalists.
"Excuse me, my dear friends, but I think you may be making a slight mistake here. I understand where you're coming from. You wish to make the new Lord-Mayor aware of your undying and righteous support. But right now, you're just another group of voices shouting under his window. He doesn't know any of you from those calling for his head."
"Now, if you truly want to show him your loyalty, it's a simple matter of being quiet. Stand in stoic silence, and you'll show you don't stand alongside those who would see this town in anarchy. Wouldn't you agree?"

Felinder chuckled as he spun the manacles around his finger. "Not a bad start to the day..."

Aria Park, Kintargo
Ah, angry mobs. They were always one of his favorite types of mobs. A bunch of angry people, barely paying attention to what was going on around them. The kind of place where a man like himself flourished.
Felinder leaned against a tree, watching the crowd. After a moment, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, copper coin.
"Alright, coin, what shall we do today? Play the confidence game, or go straight for their pockets?" he said to the coin before flipping it in the air.
The coin landed tails side up. Felinder chuckled. "Alright then. Guess I won't be bringing out the Citizen Rapport Against Paracount Barzillai's Abuse of Government. Maybe next time..."
Slipping the coin back into his pocket, Felinder went into the crowd, allowing his nimble fingers to do their job.

Hey, all. Sorry about the first message, but it was a question I wanted to get out there, and I was stuck at work on my phone. I apologize if it came across a bit out of nowhere.
Looking forward to seeing how this particular group of yahoos does against the infernal machinations of a mad inquisitor. As work is a bit of a hastle and never consistent, my posting time is typically in the afternoon or middle of the night. I live in British Columbia, Canada, which puts me on Pacific Standard Time.
Felinder seems to run in a slightly lower class group of people than most of the rest of you. I think having him have a history with Johann works. As for Lonnie, there's no reason he couldn't know him, but Felinder would probably consider him more of an 'easy mark' than a friend.
I could see him being a potential source for Tasha, though whether the information he'd give her is real is up for debate. I don't think he'd lie outright, but he probably wouldn't be above embellishing details.
Human Unchained Rogue(Sczarni Swindler) 1
I was wondering if it may be possible to have some of our characters know each other in passing before the events here go down. I think that may make things a bit more interesting. Anyone else interested?
After giving it some thought, I've added Felinder's personality, and an explanation for why a Sczarni conman would want to run a rebellion, to his character profile.
Felinder's backstory has been added. It may seem barebones, but there's more to be revealed through Roleplaying.
Meet Felinder Zelix, aspiring crime boss who's shown up at the protest looking for either some pockets to pick or a riot to start, all decided by the flip of a coin. Backstory will be added later.
