"There's a dragon 'round here?" Erick stares in blank astonishment.

Shaking his head clear. "You get us upstairs and we will figure something out. Let's go!"

Erick skips off towards the hidden trap door so that Zyx can work her magic words against the guards as he changes his form once again.

Erick plans on looking like a different soldier and try to get up to the next level, though he will need someone a bit better at talking their way through.

In the morning Erick looks to the rest. "Cool, well I am headed back in. Anyone want to come with and try and 'talk' their way past the guards at the door so we can get up to the important people?"

"They may get suspicious but we can keep changing out forms to new guards. They will never know. If we can mess up enough in that tower then there is no way they will have time to fix it before the furry clan attacks." Erick suggests.

Erick taps his head. "I'm a thinker. We need to do some drastic damage in that tower over the next 12-13 days or we are going to fail. That horde of walking furballs ain't gonna stand a chance. We need to get in there and start killing a lot of the leadership." Erick smiles at his smart and grand plan. "We can do it. I know we can...." He points a thumb as he nods at Celest. "Maybe not her, but hey we will make due and carry the group."

"Either way we need to see the rest of the tower." Erick shrugs. "We need to find the leaders and 'speak' with them." He points his index and middle fingers in the air making quotes.

"We could probably take out the archers, though we couldn't make it up to the top levels as there was a guard at the door. One of you want to come back and sweet talk the guard so I can get past?"

Erick grows excited as he looks to each of his companions. "Come on! Let's have some fun in the tower. Come on! Come on! Come on!" He claps. "You know you wanna go back." He nudges Zyx in the ribs with his elbow as he gives a wink. "Get back in that servant girl's form and smile a bit."

Seeing a door at the end of the room Erick pauses. "Wait here a moment girl." He moves across and opens the door.

Sorry. If this castle tower is that big I can turn back if I am sidetracking. Trying to look for a good place to strike but have to learn the layout first.

Erick smiles. "Leave it to Marvin." Erick turns around and opens the door to the north. He smiles again at the guards. "Always getting turned around in here." Quickly he snaps his fingers. "Girl! Go grab that rope like I said. He needed rope!"

Grabbing an apple Erick chomps on it and hands the basket to his homely castle servant woman to carry.

"Boss said he wanted some of these to pass out to the children. Follow me." He says as he shoves the basket of apples into Zyx's hands. Leaving the kitchen Erick moves west to the next door as he gives the pair of guards a nod and tosses them an apple from the basket.

Turning around a small bit Erick smiles and whispers. "Let's try the unguarded ones first."

Erick moves into the hallway and immediately heads to one of the unattended doors to the south. He keeps his eyes forward and walks with a renewed purpose as he opens the door.

Erick leaps into the air.His hand grabbing at his chest. S$%@! I'm caught already!?

Spinning around he relaxes somewhat at the small peasant girl before him. He doesn't immediately recognize her and quickly moves to silence the poor woman. That is until she speaks and realizes that it is actually Zyxtyvia.

"Plan? No plan just want to check the place out. Disrupt whatever I can without drawing too much attention to myself. Maybe even scout out the commanders and take a couple out. Dunno?" He smiles and spins around moving through the door into the hallway. He peeks his head back around the corner. "Coming? Grab a tray on the way. Maybe wehave some food to deliver his high lord of the keep!"

Taking a few moments Erick grabs each of the weapons and tosses the two to three at a time down into the secret tunnel.

Can't sell 'em but they can't use 'em either.

Once all of the weapons and armor are tossed down into the hatch he closes it once again with a dull thud of wood creaking.

Clapping his hands together he calmly heads through the door to the west to see what else was in this tower. "Time to investigate."

Erick moves a few of the barrels and stacks them on to of each other. Looking at his small tower he smiles. This should do her." He begins to climb and cracks the trap door open seeing what is within. if noone is nearby in the room Erick climbs through the trapdoor and straightens his uniform.

"So I just sit in this blasted room all day? This is pointless." Erick storms out of the room as he gets a thought, slamming the door behind him he enters the cellar with the secret door that Marvin mentioned multiple times already.

"They are all fools. All of them. Bah!" He uses his hat of disguise and changes into one of the many guards he has seen coming and going all throughout town.

Opening the Secret Door he sees where it goes.

"While Marvin is messing around with the animals the rest of us should use the secret passage he found into the tower and kill as many as we can over the next several days. Try and make our way to this warmage and the Lord of the Keep. Cut the dragon's head off and the rest will surely fall and succumb to the poison."

Erick will continue to work dissent among the local populace along with helping ambush any guards that leave to investigate the draconic activities. Using his disguise he will make himself look like the local war-mage as Marvin is terrorizing the area. As guards draw near he will quickly swap places with Marvin to look like the War-Mage is terrorizing and killing livestock and local farmers, leaving a couple of survivors to return and tell the tale. he will continue this until it is time to set in the effects of the poison.

Ah yea sorry, I assumed we were skipping a few days to move forward with the pan.

"I can help take out a few of the soldiers if needed." Erick had been growing antsy as of late. All of this cooped up planning had his nerves on edge as he paces the room.

"They won't be able to replenish their guards faster than we take them out."

As the smarter ones in the group work their efforts with the poison and slaughtering of the live-stock Erick spends each day moving throughout the town riling up the people as he talks more and more of the guards not able to protect them from the fearsome dragon. If the livestock continue to get slaughtered the people will soon get sick and not be able to survive. He will continue to spread vile rumors and ill-content to try and get the folks angry to turn against the guards when the time is right.

Erick shrugs. He did like his more direct approach of course but it could always lead back to that. he was just happy to be a free man for once. Not chained down by responsibilities to the farm, family or even literally chained to his cell.

Erick tries to think back to his younger days on the farm and his Father teaching him about herbs and roots to think if he could remember a natural poison that he could gather nearby without notice.

Erick speaks with the local wizard at the Illuminated Scroll for the day and nearby folk as he scouts the store out and heads back to the inn for the night gathering just a few rumors and such. he changes his mind about killing the small frail wizard as a soft voice rings in his head.

Growing a bit impatient and bored with menial labor Erick decides to investigate the magical shop, the Illuminated Scroll. While all seems pleasant enough he is actually watching the owner and for any signs of additional help within the store. Erick also looks around for something large enough to carry a body in, like a crate or box big enough to fit an adult male.

If the store is not busy and the man is alone Erick pounces on him and places him into a sleeper hold (DC 16) before outright choking the man to death.

Locking the door he spends the next several minutes arranging the body in the crate as he will have a gift for his companions waiting in their room.

Erick will deliver the crate and say his foolproof plan of one of the smarter ones taking the wizards place once he has delivered the 'package.' I will roleplay this all out of course just wanted to run it by you or if it will cause too much chaos. then someone can pose as the friend of the Battlemage for a way in.

An elderly villager affectionately referred to as 'Mama' Giuseppe is almost done collecting the ingredients she needs for her famous beef stew. She's clearly one of the town icons - no doubt due to her friendliness and weekly tradition of delivering a giant pot of good homecooked food to the Watchtower to add a little variety to their meals. It's very evident that Aldencross and Watchtower Balentyne have an almost familiar relationship with each other.

"There's a pack of Dwarves in town led by a grumpy short fellow named Barnabus Eisenbauch. They're here to fix up the watchtower - or so I've heard. A hard working fellow ... just don't try to challenge him to a drinking contest. He'll drink you under the table every time!"

- "Those dwarves are a thieving lot! I heard one of them was caught picking a man's pocket."

- "Did you hear about prisoners escaping from Brandescar? Were they ever caught?"

- "Do you know how the 'Lord's Dalliance' got its name? It was once a brothel! I hear there used to be a secret passage to the basement that allowed the Lord of the Watchtower to sneak in here and have a good time. Of course, it must have been sealed up years ago."

- Most of the local food comes from farmsteads south of town. Wheat fields, apple orchards, vegetable patches, and pasture for sheep and cattle are everywhere.

- Unlike other places, the forests surrounding Aldencross aren't owned by local lords. This means that even the poorest of peasants can freely hunt both fowl and deer. As a result, venison is frequently on the town's menu.

- The village reeve is a man named Dominik Vallison. He owns both the general store and the mill, owns a large estate in town, and is a lover of education and culture.

- Aldencross' local church is a small building that was rebuilt only 20yrs ago after a fire. The chaplain (Father Donnagin) also manages Balentyne's spiritual affairs, so he's rarely in town. As a result, the chapel is run by a humble man named Brother Justin of Travismere.

- Surprisingly, Aldencross has a small magic shop. 'The Illuminated Scroll' is run by a middle-aged wizard who's old friends with Balentyne's battlemage.

- One of the town's newest shops is 'Master Caldwin's Cauldron' - an alchemist shop. Teryth Caldwin (the owner) is a recent arrival who's regarded as a talented (but odd) healer.

  • "Have you ever been to Balentyne's choir hall? Amazing! The priests are such beautiful singers, and sometimes the stone saints that adorn the place join in the chorus. Such a miracle!"

  • "Mad Martin is a strange one! He tends the rookery in the Watchtower. They say he never leaves except for necessities. He talks to the birds like people has named every one!"

  • "Lord Thomas Havelyn is the most honorable and capable commander that Balentyne has ever had. If he can't keep the Watch Wall working, then no one can!"

  • An elderly villager affectionately referred to as 'Mama' Giuseppe is almost done collecting the ingredients she needs for her famous beef stew. She's clearly one of the town icons - no doubt due to her friendliness and weekly tradition of delivering a giant pot of good homecooked food to the Watchtower to add a little variety to their meals. It's very evident that Aldencross and Watchtower Balentyne have an almost familiar relationship with each other.

    The first two don't mean much to us yet but we ccan work with the last two.

    As the day rolls along Erick returns to the tavern to find Marvin having a drink.

    "Lord Thomas Havelyn is the most honorable and capable commander that Balentyne has ever had. If he can't keep the Watch Wall working, then no one can!"

    He says as he almost seems to boast about the man in case anyone is listening. He raises his drink high into the air and clinks it against Marvin's mug.

    Nodding his head as the others enter Erick suggests they meet in private within a room.

    Erick grabs ahold of his pack and tosses a little bit of dirt all over himself to make himself look, well more like himself, a farmer.

    Heading into town he wanders around a short distance, just taking in all of the sights and sounds for a bit before heading to the tavern or inn.

    Though he is completely oblivious as to what is going on around him as the people simply seem to give him a wide berth.

    Erick doesn't have a ton of skills to help here though he can appear as one of the soldiers and follow simple orders.

    He is very agile so can scale walls and such with ease to provide one on one assassinations. Though I wouldn't bet too much on him being stealthy.
