Thanks, fella - great fun!

For the moment I think I'll take a break from online stuff (and concentrate on the Heroes of Winterhaven!), but I may be back ...

OK - so, Elor's up. I'm in the process of creating an Eladrin Cleric called Amenephus ... he'll be be up soon.

Folks, I am planning to run a reduced version of Halls if any of you would be interested. I have two places pre-booked, but am posting this here, on Pat's Keep on the Shadowfell thread and on my own Winter is Coming housesit before opening it up to gamer connection. Reckon I can take up to seven and will happily field alternates.

There's no immediate pressure as I need to do a little work on the thing first, but post here if you'd like to be considered.

I'm in too - I'm happy to create a new character to fill whatever gaps may appear!

I'm sure I can find someone to play a druid - one of my team would be up for it, I think :-)

Well, Ddraig's up for more! Of course, if people will keep making him take is armour off ... :-)

I'll keep checking in to see what happens!

Thanks, all, for an awful lot of fun. Now, on to the next one ...

OK - this is me being thick:

I've finally worked out how to get Invisible Castle to roll properly for me, but I still don't know how to insert a link into a post so that it simply comes up with "Initiative (1d20+2)= 7" and a roll-over link to IC rather than having to type things in, and manually insert a link to IC.

Can someone talk me through it?

Thanks

Excellent - thanks Fabes. I'll sort out filling in the details, and look forward to smiting the unricheous :-)

Thanks

Elor

Evening Fabes

If there's still room in the party, I'd love to bring in my dragonborn paladin. He's a big lad, but scrupulously honest and great as a meat shield!

If you're happy with him, and there's room,I'd be delighted to sign up.

I know the feeling, Mr Wolf. A pleasure to have known you so far, and I'll be here if/when you want to resume FWFF. In the meantime, enjoy life - it's not a game :-)

Take it easy

Bryn

OK, so my rolls are:

STR: 6 Arse!

CON: 13 Not bad - I'll live with it and

CHA: 20 Result! That might help to wipe out the -2 penalty I've got!!!

Sorry - I forgot to add the 1 (because it makes sooo much diference!)

The above should be:

STR: 7 Still Arse!

CON: 14 Slightly better and

CHA: 20 Still a result!

Cheers

I am rewriting this so apologies if it seems a touch terse.

Good work Elor.

Minor stuff
1) Fist and Longsword do +1 damage due to strength.
2) Hit points should be 4, 3 + Con modifier.

Next on page 7 of the discussion thread are two events tables, roll twice on these for the first two year period.

OK, so my Bad Events are: being blamed for market day theiving (-2 to charisma-based skill checks); and as a multiple-choice, because I don't know if anyone else has had these a small love interest with a farmer's child OR a forest fire burns down the Shrine OR Evan Drett holds a grudge against me.

My Good Events are: in thanks for helping a merchant, receive 60 gold pieces worth of adventuring gear or special substances and items; and in thanks for helping one of the tax collectors he forgets my bill and I receive 10 gold pieces and a favour.

Finally roll D20's against the three abilities Stagyar tried to learn in the first training period. That is 1d20+1 for Simple Weapon prof and handle animal and 1d20 for Diplomacy.

OK, so my rolls are:

STR: 6 Arse!

CON: 13 Not bad - I'll live with it and

CHA: 20 Result! That might help to wipe out the -2 penalty I've got!!!

That should all bring you up to date.

I hope that's OK - do you need anything else?

Cheers

Elor

Hello all. Well, I've gone through as much as I can work out - I just need to know how to set my Appraise etc. skill checks. Can someone let me know what I roll!

In the meantime, please feel free to have a look at Stagyar's character, and giggle a lot at my ineptitude!

Cheers

Morning all!

I'm finally getting to grips with the character generation page for Stagyar (with an awful lot of plagiarism from Vladimir's page!), and it should be done in the next day or two (rehearsals permitting). However, I'll need someone to look over all the stats to make sure they look OK.

Hope the little one's teeth are better, French.

Thanks for letting me keep the sword, French - I'll try not to stick into myself (or my friends)!

Stagyar's most treasured possession is his longsword, given to him by the militia at his last home. Whilst he's still learning how to use is, he works with it whenever he gets the chance, continually trying to master it. In the meantime, he's at least getting better with his fists and with with a quarterstaff.

Elor demonstration as promised of the inner mysteries of how to do ooc, bold and italic.

Thusly for ooc
So, we have bold
and this is italic

Hit reply and it will show you the coding in the window. Hope this helps.

And so it begins!

Time to put some flesh on Elor's bones.

Elor's life to date has been hard, but generally fair. Having grown up working on his father's livestock farm, he's been used to physical work, mainly because he's had to bully (and, on occasion, wrestle) the animals, to make sure that they behaved. This lifestyle has imprinted its mark on him. By the time he reached his 17th birthday, Elor's 6ft5 and built like a brick outhouse.

Most people (usually including Elor) are at something of a loss to explain where his desire to become a Paladin comes from. However, if pushed, he will reluctantly reveal the story of the time, many years before, when his father was badly beaten by a group of men who wanted to steal some of his father's livestock.

Elor, young and frighted, hid in the cowshed as his father was beaten. Whilst there was little that Elor could possibly have done, he still remembers his father's shouts for help (and, latterly, his pleas for and end to the beating), and to this day has lived with a sense of shame for his own inaction. He has therefore resolved to fight evil and oppressors whenever he can.

Unfortunately for Elor, his life on the farm is not exciting; he puts up with the day-to-day drudgery, looking on it as an interlude before he can spend the weekend training with the Militia, and with the Sergeant in particular (who seems impressed with Elor's dedication to learning martial skills, and who is convinced that, even if Elor can't become a Paladin, he can be used as a battering ram!)

Elor has spent the past two years working on his fitness and stamina, and on trying to learn how to use a longsword. (Rolls: STR 4+1=5; CON 3+1=4; Longsword - 20). In what little spare time he's had, he's tried to convince everyone he knows that he's going to become a Paladin (CHA 2+1=3).

There'sll be more about his next two years shortly.

Afternoon, French

Well, as suggested I'm putting an initial post here to introduce myself, and start getting involved.

Of course, as part of that I've generated some statistics for character generation, so here we go:

As previously indicated, I'm human, aged 17 (bloody rare for me to roll 20!). My father's an animal farmer (7), and my mother's a simple, hardworking homemaker (13), so I've had a hard but fair life so far. I've worked on the farm since I was young, and I'm used to elements of physical labour. For my siblings, I have a young cousin who's a child prodigy - sorcerer (19) (smug git!).

My early experiences have been mixed. There was a lightning storm during my journey, and I got lost in the woods for days, giving me a dreadful phobia of owls (14 then 11), but whilst out playing in woods I befriended and trained a wild dog (presumably to kill owls!) (6 then 9).

I have no family history of note (unless you count my father's 'best in show' for his cow daisy!) (3), but my father was clearly very hardworking, because I've got 50 gold pieces (13). Presumably, I got decent pocket-money, which I've saved!

Personally, I've got a burning desire to become a paladin - to right wrongs, fight evil and rid the world of monsters (and, for some inexplicable reason, cabbage!)

If you're happy with the above, I'm happy to join in.
