![]() Ellantera follows her sensei's lead. She slaps the rogue on the back after he returns, almost knocking him down. Grinning, "We'll just have to find a different death-defying feat for you today!" She will let others go first unless she thinks she can be of more assistance to go along with someone. ![]()

![]() "OK. Now that we are up here, it should be possible to rig a safer way to descend an return, don't you think?" I'm thinking we might be able to use a massive chain link to run a rope through and have someone at the base hoist someone or at least aid them up the shaft next time. Leave the rope or ropes here for now idea. How much rope we we have? ![]()

![]() Adoven is favored with a smirk and a raised eyebrow when she realizes the cause of his discomfort. She offers no resistance, but you never know with those rangers... Hearing the wisdom in Dohrlok’s words, she calls out to the rogue, ”Verrick! Hold!” ![]()

![]() Ellantera takes the rope and ties one of the hooks to it so she can go chain-fishing. Once she's been able to draw it to her, she ties herself to it and braces as best she can manage, staying low (but not prone) and watching the man edge forward. ![]()

![]() The only place to anchor the rope, I think, is the chain, which would mean that the affected character could be blown back into the shaft and still fall a ways, but hopefully not clear to the floor. Anyone have feather fall, by chance? ![]()

![]() Looking at the floor, Ellantera asks, "Anyone have a crowbar?" At Adoven's suggestion, she frowns. "With nothing to brace against..." she looks up and down the visible portion of the hall, "It could be tricky. And how long would we need to hold out? I wonder if we could use the chain in some fashion - maybe tie ourselves off to it so we cannot fall far if we do fall." ![]()

![]() Ellantera muses, "The theme around here has been wind, right? I don't want that thing blowing me down the tunnel to fall 100 feet. Maybe we should anchor ourselves just in case while scouts scout." She's probably not the smart one to come up with that conclusion, but it's sure the first thing I thought of from that description. Are there cracks in the tunnel where pitons could be anchored out of an abundance of caution? Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 ![]()

![]() Yeah, I believe there is a reference to using opposed Escape Artist checks if you are trying to bind someone with a rope, but it's been a long time since I cared enough to look. I didn't know if it maybe showed up somewhere else. ![]()

![]() I hope you are correct. Thank you, lads. Ellantera is grateful for the darkness to hide her embarassment, but there's nothing hiding her breathing as she tries to get it back under control following the near miss. She calls down the shaft, "Yes. Can you tie it about yourself?" Lest we forget the rogue: Verrik might smirk just a bit at the request Stanley makes, but he's careful to hide it. "Like the girl said, let's get that rope tied around you, here you go." He aids the man with the task before heading up the rope himself. "Stay near the chain until I'm to the top or you're going to make my climb a bit harder." Unsure of bonus to use for the rope use aid: 1d20 ⇒ 11 Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 ![]()

![]() Ellantera motions to the hesitant Tyvall, ”Come on, let’s get up there, eh?” Thinking that if she follows closely, she might be able to aid another if necessary, but his penalty is not so great as to prevent him from taking 10, is it? She will take 10 for a 13 on her check. ![]()

![]() Ellantera will wait until Dohrlok has reported back to move it, but she will prepare to turn the sarcophagus once more. Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Her feet slide out from under her and she falls. Blushing furiously, she gets up, dusts herself off, and braces for another go. Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 This time, the loose sand doesn't catch her by surprise, but she makes no progress on moving the ancient stone, either. She stands, hands on her hips, and looks around at the others. She'll try again, but she's trying to breathe deeply and find her calm center first. ![]()

![]() I am copying this to all my games. Sorry for late notice, but I am headed down the road to vacation for a week. Connectivity and availability may be an issue, so please bot for me rather than waiting too long. I will peek in if I can and normal posting is expected to resume in nine days. I don't say this enough to the people in RL, let alone to my virtual friends, but I appreciate you and this game we share. Peace. ![]()

![]() "Maybe they just needed a light. Which one might not have mattered to them." She turns toward the stone for another push, but pauses and looks around. "If someone came here and opened a door by turning the stone, how did they close the door once they were inside? Did you see something in the metal room to do that, Adoven?" She walks over to the cylinder and cautiously peers in. Realizing this is not her strong point, she shrugs, "Sorry, I will let you do the thinking." She walked back to the sarcophagus and braces herself for another spin. ![]()

![]() Stanley is a scientist with a regimented way of approaching a problem. Ellantera is limited in her available solutions - if she can't smash it or move it, she's out of ideas. ![]() I misunderstood the scene. The player suspects a red lantern would be appropriate in the leftmost alcove and an indigo lantern is missing from the second-to-last. The character has no clue without returning upstairs to view the painting. "Are these five lanterns in their places? What should the other two be? I can go upstairs to check the painting." ![]() "It's like the painting we found upstairs." Are all of the lanterns lit or just the green one nearby? ![]() The girl tries to get a good look at the bite as though surprised to find it. "Nah. It's fine." Dohrlok says nothing, but shakes his head and motions for Stanley to perform his healing magic on the girl. When she starts to protest, he holds up a stubby dwarven finger. "Do not act tough, seek discipline." She bows her head for a moment and nods. "May I be healed, sir?" Dohrlok is down to 8 of 11, I think. What do you think he will want? ![]()
