Moving in behind the two men still standing, cutting off any exit route, Elise stands her ground and commands "Best to drop your blade gentlemen, the jig is up... you're outnumbered and outmatched." Going to move to cut off the exit, and then delay... if they try to run or continue their assault, Elise will jump back in.

Moving to engage, Elise quickly finds her barrings and strikes at the Thug that Rhasuel struck with a snowball. Full Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
With a wicked grin, Elise taunts "It's just snow now, c'mon!" If she can, Elise will use her second standard action to go total defense until her second round action. Does that work?

Nodding at the Zev with her sword readied, Elise attempts to blend into the background. Stealth: 1d20 + 3 - 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 3 = 15 Surprisingly, Elise does an admirable a job hiding, at least insofar as one might expect a flaxen haired and fully armed young women to blend into a small room. Alright then, let's get this over with. Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

With a furrowed brow, Elise eyes the Butcher Shop suspiciously as her hand instinctively reaches for her sword hilt. "It's getting quiet all of the sudden; I don't like this waiting, it's making me uneasy." Glancing about the area, Elise tries to glean any potential dangers. Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 Just checking in as the action appears to be on the inside at the moment.

Sitting down with the old man, Elise indulges his desire to have a drink with her. Ordering two drinks, she strikes up a conversation and eventually gets around to her questioning after some small talk. Once he passes on the information, Elise returns his wink with a coy and knowing smile of her own. To the surprise of those paying attention, this particular Iomedaen perhaps seemed at least a touch more libertine than most of her brethren. Standing up, she nods and places a few silver pieces down on the table "Thanks for your help." Finding a nearby serving girl, Elise points at the old salt "Another round on this gentlemen." Heading back outside, Elise nods at the others and discloses what she found out "So, when we ask for ask for the night's special cuts, we can perhaps gain entry for... some illicit requests." Glancing over everyone individually, Elise ponders before adding "We should probably send one or two in tops in; once inside, we can surmise what we're up against." Looking down at her own attire, Elise shakes her head "Not sure it should be me though... I tend to stick out like a sore thumb to this element; half the bar was afraid to even look at me, let alone talk to me."

Watching the whole scene unfold, Elise rolls her eyes and shakes her head. Finally, she places her right hand over her forehead as though she were dealing with a mild headache and laughs lightly "Well, that entertaining if nothing else." Glancing at the bar, Elise shrugs with a light sigh before heading in "Okay, let me see what I can turn up. If I end up hanging upside down from my belt half-naked, just put me out of my misery." Diplomacy, Gather Information: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 Sorry for the delay, crazy busy week!

Like everyone else, Elise joins the others resplendent in her new breastplate. Having had the chance to clean up and rest, she appears divine yet fierce as ever. Reaching the bottom of the stairs, Elise pauses as she looks upon Rhasuel, even raising an eyebrow inquisitively before finally breaking her silence ”Rhasuel, you look… different? Good, but different.” Elise couldn’t help but hide her confusion; usually unnatural youth was a gift from a dark power, the kind of thing people would trade their soul for from according to Elise’s education. Cressida’s Office: Listening intently to the Field Marshall, Elise’s expression hardens at hearing Vancaskerkin’s name. As Cressida finishes her report, Elise shakes her heads ”I remember that man – he’s the one that so rudely plowed over the poor young page girl last time we were here.” Rolling her eyes, Elise adds ”His complete lack of social grace notwithstanding, you certainly can’t afford to have this man going rogue in this manner. I for one would be happy to bring such a lout in.”

Sorry for the delay, been getting caught up on my marking this week. Out with Allysen and Mercy:
Joining Allysen and Mercy for a drink, Elise entertains the Cailean’s curiousity ”No, don’t worry about it Allysen. I don’t know if you remember, but I was a bit of thorn in Lamm’s side,” smiling to herself, Elise seemed to revel in the fact she openly rebelled against their cruel master before adding ”he had enough of me when I tried to organize a rebellion against him. Lamm had his goons beat me within an inch of my life and left me for dead, but I was saved by the Sisters of Iomedae who found me.”
Glancing over towards Mercy with a nod, Elise continues ”After that, I ran into Mercy, Paulus and the others you met earlier… turns out we all had a bone to pick with our former tormentor, and took issues into our own hands.” At House Fordyce:
Finding herself in a safe environment for the first time in ages, Elise takes the opportunity to lose the armor, and relax in comfort for the first time. Ever the gracious guest, she laughs politely at Cecil’s shamless flirting while endeavoring to be the model of grace and poise.
As the night wears on though, Elise let’s her hair down (literally and figuratively) and enjoys the entertainment… though the alcohol and food certainly was playing into her joyous mood ”Ah! I haven’t had fun like this since… well, ever actually.” I suppose that for the next two weeks, Elise will have to find some accommodations. If somebody would like to share a common room, we can split the cost? Otherwise, she’ll likely hunker down with the Iomedaens if necessary.

Smiling as her memory suddenly was placed, Elise embraces the half-elven girl happily "Allysen, it's wonderful to see you survived. As you know, Lamm left me for dead... but the charity of the Iomedaeans in Korvosa saw me through to a better life." Holding Allysen back a moment, Elise answers her inquiries "Indeed that is Mercy, and Paulus also made it. Lamm, however, is no more." The last proclamation seems to give Elise some degree of satisfaction that is clear to all and sundry; justice in her mind, was done in Lamm's case. Pondering a moment, Elise looks over to Mercy then back to Allysen before adding "Fascinating that so many of us that survived our time with Lamm took up the faith, as it appears you have?"
Female Human Paladin (Oath of Venegeance) 2 | HP 31/31 | AC 22/14/18 | F+10, R+7, W+9 | Perc +5, Init +3
Nodding satisfactorily as the drunkards depart peacefully, Elise smiles as she turns her attention to the half-elf girl "There, they won't be bothering you anytime now." Holding her gaze on the girl a second, Elise tilts her head slightly "Say, I remember you; correct me if I'm wrong, but were you staying with Lamm the same time I was?"
Female Human Paladin (Oath of Venegeance) 2 | HP 31/31 | AC 22/14/18 | F+10, R+7, W+9 | Perc +5, Init +3
Standing up and facing the drunken leader square in the eye, Elise appears both controlled yet seething with indignation. Staring him down a moment, Elise finally breaks the silence "Oh, I'm quite certain friend," her right eye twitching ever so slightly as she repeatedly clenches her fist, Elise coolly continues by addressing his comrades without ever taking his eyes off the lout "gentlemen, please remove your friend here... before he says something he regrets." Intimidate, since they don't have a better nature: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Drunken misogynists; think I'll add that to the list of people that piss Elise off alongside the Hellknights lol

Int Check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Jumping immediately to the half-elven woman's aid, Elise looks to the doc workers somewhat indignantly "Gentlemen, please! Surely a group of men as yourselves wouldn't stoop to this kind of violence against a woman? I should hope you're better than that." Diplomacy, try to appeal to their better nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 "Oh Cal, I'm sorry to hear that... though I can commiserate on that particular tragedy myself." With a relieved sigh, Elise smiles and adds "You know what, I'll take you up on your offer Cal. I think a little unwinding after the day we've had sounds just lovely." Falling in beside the former Hellknight turned troubadour, Elise winks with a wryly grin "Lead the way Master Fordyce."

Satisfied to hear that Cressida was to take account for the prisoners, Elise nods "Thank-you m'lady. I'm sure those folks out there will dealt with much more fairly than they would have otherwise experienced with the Hellknights." There business having concluded with Cressida for the time being, Elise bows respectfully and makes her exit.

DM-Salsa wrote: Well, they handed them over to be judged, not set free. Yes many of them do have homes, but most of them are varisian caravaners. Their homes are currently impounded by the hellknights. My bad; it's been awhile, I've forgotten some of the details. No matter, for better or worse, Elise is still going to get into it with this guy XD Returning an icy stare, Elise coolly retorts "Order, is that what you call it? An interesting euphemism; but let's be frank, your brand of order is nothing short of tyranny." Pausing a moment, Elise considers letting the Hellknight respond but quickly changes course with a scoff adding "You know what? I don't have the time nor the inclination to parse words with the likes of you." Throwing her hand up dismissively, Elise storms off to help the prisoners. In other words, talk to the hand... that'll get her some enemies I'm sure, but Elise is nothing if not principled lol

Sorry to see Paulus go, Elise sighed as he departed and resigned herself to the hope that he would return. After his departure, Elise turns to the others and adds "A good man that one; I hope our paths cross again." Glancing back towards the Captain, Elise was quite certain she couldn't say the same thing about him. There was no love lost for the Hellknights on her part; order by any means is tyranny, something Elise found as equally distasteful as anarchy. Doing little to hide her disdain for the Hellknights, Elise addresses Cal somewhat impatiently "Let's go then Cal, our service here is done." Snatching the keys from the Hellknight leading the procession, Elise eyes the him with thinly veiled outrage after surveying the prisoners and snarls "Really?! You felt it necessary to chain even the children? Honestly, why the Queen brought you people here is beyond me." Shaking her head in disgust, she goes about the task of unchaining the prisoners. Standing in the square, Elise checks to make sure that the prisoners are okay. Addressing the group, Elise explains that they are free to return to their homes. Once the former prisoners are on their way, Elise looks to the others and asks "Return to the Citadel then?" I'm assuming that most of the prisoner's have a home to return to? If not, we might need to find somewhere to house these people.

In other words, to quote Leonidas: This is were we hold them! This is where we fight! This is where they die! Sorry, been fighting a nasty bug... falling asleep earlier than usual. Listening to Cal discuss strategy, Elise grins with a wink and adds "Duplicitous? No, not usually... but not always one percent honest either." Glancing over at Tallienda, Elise adds somewhat plainly "Anyway, my name is Elise Warden; my sword serves the Inheritor, though presently I'm in service to the Queen as are we all." Growing more serious in tone, Elise looks to Hamish and addresses his concerns directly "Our trustworthiness is not in question, though honestly, your choices are somewhat limited given the circumstances. Know that we have the young page girls interest at heart, and therefore yours by extension." Moving quickly beside Paulus, Mercy and Zev, Elise inquires "Is she safe to move now you think? We can't doddle here much longer."

Entering the barricade room, Elise holds back and lets the others do most of the talking; the last time Elise spoke to a Hellknight commander, things did not go so well. Though she remained quiet, Elise grew alarmed at the tone and timbre of the rapidly deteriorating parlay. Shaking her head somewhat incredulously, Elise finally interjects "Alright, that's enough! In case everyone has forgotten, the danger is still very clear and present." Diplomacy, trying to calm the room: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 Looking over at the old man, Elise simply adds "Listen, whatever your past with Cal has been, he's here to help you now... so you can finish up this discussion later." Taking the initiative, she starts helping the wounded ones up in an attempt to get them moving "We need to go, your friends here need help." As she prepares to leave, Elise looks over at Cal with a somewhat perplexed look. Passing near him, she whispers "What was that all about Cal?" Shaking her head, she second guesses herself and adds "Actually, never mind, I.. I don't need to know."

Following Annabelle's lead, Elise methodically inspects the area to make sure that no further dangers exist. Once satisfied at their safety, she helps Paulus tend to the fallen thugs, providing first aid to stabilize any still alive. Looking to one of the conscious one, she sternly adds "There, you'll live. My friends here will have some questions for you." Heal check, stabilize: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18 "Well, that went better than last time... although there was admittedly fewer of them." Picking up the breastplate, Elise inspects it for a few moments before inquiring "Anyone else interested in this breastplate? If not, I'd like to claim it; it isn't exactly the highest of quality, but it's better than what I presently have." Glancing over at Nicoletta, now patched up, she grins over at Paulus as she undoes the straps of the breastplate "Careful now Paulus; if I didn't know any better, I'd say you've perhaps have an admirer." Standing up, Elise removes her armored coat and places it on the ground before donning the breastplate. Examining herself a moment, she wriggles around trying to get comfortable before inquiring to no one in particular "Well, how does it look? It's an imperfect fit, but I don't have the time or money to get something made specifically for my frame at the moment; it'll have to do I suppose."

Inspecting herself and her armor, Elise adds humorously "What, this isn't form fitting enough?" Shaking her head, she contemplates "I might look good in leather, but I'm not sure it provides quite as much protection as I'm used to; I was actually thinking a chain shirt, something more flexible than this old thing."

Glancing over at Paulus with a smile, Elise continues that thought "Speaking of strengths, I think Paulus perhaps we cede an advantage if we purposely hold our quickest back; that being said, I agree that we cannot allow our forward moving allies to be cut off again like we did last time," pausing to shudder, Elise adds somewhat embarrassingly "we certainly don't need an encore of our alleyway stratagem."
