Krysta and I both overkilled one hag each. There is one left, next to Sunday.

Hmm good question, she's ready, but I'm not sure if she wants to show up right this moment after Elisai left, or if its better for them to meet on the road.

I guess it doesn't matter too much, I'm happy either way.

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

I think that lets Elisai gracefully exit, with room to reoccur towards the end of the campaign if really required (maybe a dramatic moment down the line?), although I don't have any immediate plans to bring her back. I can have Elisai's friend show up now or slightly later.

In the morning, Elisai's door is open, bed made, and a letter placed on the bed addressed to everyone.

Elisai's Letter:

Hello Everyone. You will need to forgive me, that I didn't tell you all my preparations, but I felt I had to make this decision on my own, and I wasn't sure how you would all react.

I'm writing this letter, as a farewell, of sorts, although with good fortune, I may see you soon. I never told you this, but I did want a life after this task of ours, I wanted to be free, and happy."

"With the release of the pit fiend, I feel that this is no longer much of an option. It distracts me, leaves me always looking over my shoulder. Not only does it prevent all of us from moving on, its also a risk to our task, for we never know when it might appear to spoil our mission. I don't think delaying our mission is a good idea, so I'm splitting off, and I'm going to try and hunt this pit fiend down myself, hopefully with some allies along the way. It will be a large task, but if I succeed I can remove a potential obstacle to our futures. Currently, it is our fault that it was unleashed on the world, and I will take responsibility to clean it up. If good fortune permits, and I can successfully vanquish it, then I will track you down, and join you once again, should your task not yet be complete."

"I'm not entirely thoughtless though, and I wouldn't leave you in a worse position than before. I have a friend that I met through Wicked Grace, someone I trust deeply. She is a good fighter, and I think she will be useful. I have already contacted her, and she will try and meet up with you soon. I will miss you guys, but I hope to see you eventually, when our tasks are complete. Love, Elisai."

Elisai switches to her Champion Spirit, moving and drawing her greatsword in a single swift movement and she tries to take down one of the remaining trolls

Greatsword: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 1 = 13
Damage: 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (1, 1) + 18 = 20

I also had about 3 more channels as well that I would have used that day if anyone needed more healing to get full

Seeing allies chip away at the creature, Elisai attempts to Channel once again.

Nevermind, I'm dumb, its a contruct, so doesn't get any healing from channel anyway.

Elisai steps back and unleashes a Channel Energy, healing all allies in the radius.

How much damage has this thing taken already? Just tossing up the merits between attacking it vs healing everything (which unfortunately would include it) but its hard to get a picture on how much punishment its already taken.

Elisai stalks back closer towards the scorpion, full of anger for temporarily abandoning her friends to its attacks and seeking to make up for the flood of emotion that had rendered her helpless.

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

"Yes Sunday, I was indeed hoping to live a little further beyond twelve months" Elisai hisses, before following the rest of the group into the room

Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Once inside the room, Elisai immediately retreats in fear.

Cannot enter Spirit Dance so long as a fear effect is in play, which means I am screwed for as long as it lasts.

Just got back from work now

So like, OOC I totally understand Sunday releasing it, but Elisai is super pissed at him IC now, and I don't feel like roleplaying her being a negative nancy for like...ages.

Its probably best if I just roll her up as a new character to avoid any issues.

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

Sigh, Elisai probably just walks into the circle then before its freed. If its a choice between maybe having a Pit Fiend after us, and, you know, not having that threat at all, its no choice at all really :/

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

Pretty sure that changes the moment its free. In faireness, I am 90% sure its not going to come up again in the campaign (except maybe the end) but speaking from an IC POV, Elisai probably doesnt want to take the risk it comes back, having a grudge for us seeing it in such a weak state

Why are we freeing the Pit Fiend again? Just have Krysta walk into the circles without releasing the Pit Fiend which solves the problem. Its just kinda screwy that we have revenge on the mind with snake lady, and are ok with releasing something even worse.

Like, at least make some sort of deal with it first, if you have to let it out, but "I am not a threat to any creature in my state" is a pretty obvious loophole (ie, he will be a threat when he gets his full strength).

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

I'm taking a few liberties that Elisai knows a little about what a Pit Fiend is since she got a 30 on her knowledge check.

"A Pit fiend is basically a General of Hell. At full strength, its probably one of the most frightening things to face in battle. Some of them eventually become demigods, but all tend to raise large armies and then wage war on the world or planar landscapes. They make these giants we have been fighting look like a puppy dog."

Elisai hesitates a little at the next part. "They are undoubtedly evil creatures, but honor bound - as it were, with the goals of twisting mortal souls into becoming one of Hells denizens. You could make a bargin, and I imagine that it would honor it, but also attempt to twist it secretly. Pit Fiends tend to be immortal, and tend to take the long view. Just be aware Sunday, that its probably furious at being seen in such a weak state. If you want to let it out just for information, ensure that it does not come back later at full strength, and play your body like a harp."

Anyone up for attempting a Wish discussion =]

Elisai, slightly suspicious, casts a Guidence spell on herself, before channeling her Trickster Spirit, trying to determine what exactly the creature was to best determine if it was lying.

Knowledge Planes: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 12 + 1 = 30

With the sudden knowledge she possesses, her eyes light up in dismay, especially seeing how eager Sunday was to free it. "Guys, I'm going to recommend we don't free this creature at all. Its hard to tell due to how pathetic it looks, but that's actually a Pit Fiend, imprisioned for some reason. I doubt it has any willingness to save a mortal village, probably intends to raze it to the ground."

"They look a little...creepy" Elisai says reluctantly, before heading over to help Delendir with the skull removal.

"Actually, I can wield it just fine, if I use one of my spirits to grant me proficiency with it." Elisai offers carefully, by way of advice.

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

Does anyone have the relevant knowledge skill. I'm guessing that you take it out of the water to stop the regeneration but I don't know if that would be something Elisai would know.

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

I don’t think there is actually anything I can do. It probably solos me, and I don’t have access to any of my spells, or offensive / defensive powers for another 3 rounds. Might need to retreat for this one.

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

I'm shaken for 4 rounds

Elisai immediately takes the total defense action in the face of the huge threat, standing into a passive posture.

That shaken debuff is huge, since it prevents me from casting or entering into Spirit Dance, for what I imagine to be the entire combat.

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

Apologies, had a super huge leak in my apartment that's been an ongoing saga for the last week and a half. Fingers crossed it should be fixed.

Elisai follows closely behind Delendir, stepping where he steps to avoid triggering any traps, while clutching her weapon close, certain that more enemies might lie around the corner.

"I haven't worked in a dam before, so I don't know much about a layout or how it works unfortunately. Anyone else?" she replies to the half-elfs question.

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

"Let me know if its trap free" Elisai calls up at Delendir, fairly confident in her friends trap finding skills. She isn't worried about being able to follow the Half Elf up the stone entrance-way, but she is worried about clumsily triggering some potentially lethal tripwire. So its with care and caution when she shields her eyes with a hand and carefully watches her friends progress.

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

Elisai steps up and attacks the closest ogre with a flurry of attacks.

General reminder to everyone that Haste is still in effect!

Elisai moves closer to the ogres, trying to follow up on Sunday's swings with a speedy slash.

Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Damage: 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (2, 2) + 18 = 22

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

Elisai casts Haste immediately, on surprise, before heading up and slotting behind Sunday, casting Mirror Image again on herself.

Mirror Image: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

Elisai switches spirits, attempting a more aggressive option, stepping in closer and lashing out with three quick strikes.

Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 Damage: 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (1, 4) + 18 = 23
Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13 Damage: 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (4, 4) + 18 = 26
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 Damage: 2d6 + 18 ⇒ (4, 4) + 18 = 26

Elisai casts Mirror Image, before walking closer to the creature, channelling her Guardian abilities.

Mirror Image: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 images
DR4/- and resistance 4 to all elemental / energy forms.

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

"Why does everything that Thassilonian's build have to be big and huge" ELisai grumbles slightly, still impressed by the size and scale of the dam. "One would think that they would be compensating for something".

Female Human Medium (Spirit Dancer) 7 HP: 75/75 | AC: 16 | T: 10 | FF: 14 | CMD: 20 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +3 | Will: +6 | Init: +4| Perc: +10

Elisai frowns, but remains determined to channel recent events, as well as her rage into a more productive outlet. Fighting things that regenerated to her basically meant that they were a punching bag that she could hit all day long.

"I'm ready if we want to go and look into this" she responded simply.

Elisai sits on the ground in front of the man who had died, lower lip quivering a little. Her hands glowing, she attempts to heal the man, pouring her divine energy into his body. "Heal" she breathes for a moment, before getting upset when the channel has no effect. "Heal" she says again, blasting her healing power into the man again, having the same result. "HEAL" she yells again before being reduced to tears at the failure of her channeling abilities.

I'm bad at roleplaying situations such as this :(
Yes though, shes burning and wasting her channels on a dead body.

Elisai almost drops her blade in shock, heartbroken that the confusion cloud and affected her mind so badly. Even though the action was not strictly her control she feels a knife of guilt slide under her ribs. Standing on the shore the medium lets out a cry of rage and pain as the creature rests far away.

I'm unable to really do anything being so far away.

Elisai is much less confident about relying on a gigantic bat to fly her across the river, but on the other hand, she wasn't really keen on the idea of having to swim and needing to be fished out like Delendir, so gingerly climbs up onto Sunday's back.

She is much relieved to be on solid ground after crossing though, and gives the bat a grateful - if awkward, nod of things.
