Elias replies, "Froderick didn't ask for the compact; it was not his decision to enter into a pact with the River King. If you should blame anyone, Bren, it is the River King for creating the magic of the mill. Blame will get us nowhere. If you are not going to hurt Froderick, then what are you going to do?"

He looks at his friend, "Oh, Bren... do not do this thing," he says as he realises, "If you destroy the mill, then what will become of the village and its people? All we fought for, and Eglantine died for, will be for nothing."

He pauses before adding, "She was loved by more than just you, old friend."

"Bren. Would Eglantine approve of what you are about to do? Will it bring her back?"

Elias stands in front of him.

"Whatever you are planning will not bring Eglantine back. She is at peace now, Bren. We must be too. Do not mar this day with more darkness."

Elias looks stoical.

He catches Bren by the arm, "Bren. What are you going to do?"

Elias sets off after Bren.

"Bren, do not do anything rash." ELias calls.

Elias looks at Bren meaningfully and says, "We thank you for honouring Eglantine."

He turns to the Reeve, "Does this seem fair to you? There need be no death today. The fey will stay in their world and the mortals in theirs. It would seem the best way."

Elias looks at Bren.

Elias looks to his friends, and then to the Reeve, he says, "It seems equitable to me. The final word must be official of course. May I ask a boon in return, Lady? Our friend, Eglantine Prakseda, fought and died to give us a chance to return to the mortal world. Her dying wish was to be buried in the Feywild. Do you think that your followers could enact this?"

Elias bows, "Forgive me, madam. Your son has been taken under guard for the time being, for the safety of his father and the townsfolk. No-one wishes for any more death this day. We have already lost a friend, and we embarked on our mission in a bid to save your husband, and indeed, you."

"Blindfold him," Elias says simply, "He can only go somewhere that he can see."

Elias places a hand on Bren's arm, "Calm down, Bren, Froderick is not in the wrong here."

I agree with the above.

"You may be right."

Elias says, "Do you think that our word will help Froderick's case at all? We cannot reliably go back for Ellesandra and still be back in time to help him."

Elias looks at Bren with curiosity, "I still do not understand the animosity you all have towards Froderick." he says to the rest of the adventurers.

Elias says, by way of explanation, "Time runs differently in the fey lands, as many know. Thus, Flax is now a grown, and angry, man. He hates his father, so we can expect no co-operation from him, I'm afraid."

I don't know what to do at this point, I'm afraid. We should take Flax back to town, and see what happens.

Elias sighs, "So much anger," he says as if to a child. "We shall see what can be done with you. You will be happier if you let go of this hate that consumes you."

With that he leaves Flax to Bren.

Elias does not seem ruffled by Flax, "You have so much anger. A shame. Very well, we shall talk to the River King. And you will help us."

Elias is unmoving, "He is your father. Without him, you would not exist at all. Your mother cares for him. If not for yourself, or for him, then do this for her."

Once Flax awakens, Elias asks him, "Do you wish to help your father?"

Elias stands silently. Scathach sits beside Eglantine's body.

Elias looks puzzled, "Ah, yes, I see, No proof to present to others," he ponders for a while, "I believe were we to enter the pool again it would transport us further from her."

He looks at Flax, "It would seem we need to ask our errant princeling, if he cares about his father enough to help us."

Elias approaches Flax and ties him up with whatever is available, and disarms him.

Elias shifts his focus and barks a command at Scathach. He slashes at Flax with icy detachment.

Move Elias to AA9, Scathach to X10. Minor - Hunter's Quarry on Lionheart. Standard - Beast Latch on Lionheart.

If it hits, Lionheart is slowed, and if he moves in his next turn, Scathach can shift to remain adjacent to him.

He sees the slumped form of his friend and knows she is dead.

The elf looks at Bren wordlessly, and then makes haste for the village.

I'm tempted to keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming... to quote Dory. Elias has made a habit of single-mindedness. Someone also needs to warn the town.

Elias looks up from his swimming, and struggles to make sense of what is going on.

Elias and Scathach will head into the water by the fastest route possible, as a Move action.

Elias nods, "We must go. Perhaps the nature of time here will work in our favour, and we shall arrive before them. We must try in any case."

"That makes sense. As much as anything can at this moment." Elias says wryly.

'Tis a special kind of madness. The Feywild has affected them all in their own ways.

"Eglantine is right."
