Electron contributes to the conversation, "Maybe, but what if his bad luck is in overdrive because he actually is threatened by something now - some looming threat that started about a month ago? Could he be being stalked by something or someone?" Electron gasps. "Or what if he's some kind of canary in a coalmine and acting as an early warning for all of us!"

Electron pops into the grid to pop out close to the group to join in the discussion. Hearing the last bits, he chimes in, "Bad luck? A plane crash and a tornado are the effects of bad luck for anyone around him? That's pretty extreme. How come we haven't heard of so many major events happening anywhere else? What's different?"

Electron wobbles a little bit and he seems a bit paler and dimmer than before from the exertion. "Whoooo," he gasps out. "I didn't know if that was going to work." He bends down and places his hands on his knees to support himself for a moment.

Not sure how much longer the action will take but since fatigue isn't too bad a burden for him to bear, he'll accept the fatigue from the extra effort and not spend a Hero point to remove it.

Thanks... GM... Must... hold... out... until... bystanders... get away...

Briefly stunned by the awesome power of the tornado, Electron snaps his attention back to the dire situation at hand. Having spent some time experimenting with generating electricity in innovative ways he hatches a half-baked plan.

Though the tornado's debris field is far too wide for his power to manage, he tries to plant himself right in an area where would be able to give the fleeing bystanders the most cover. Then he projects an electrical field across the path of the tornado and its flying debris.

Using extra effort to create an alternate effect for my electrical powers. I've got 16 points I can drive into:
Protection, sustained 1/rank
Area: 120' Burst +3/rank
So end result is Protection 4 in a 120' burst, sustained. With me at the center. I'm hoping that the carved out protection field will help suppress some of the debris flying in and give the people more of a chance to get to safety.

Electron has no more idea what's going on than any of the other strange people he's fallen in with, but a tornado had the potential to cause a lot of damage so on he went. He went to the nearest traffic light and used the grid to pop closer to the tornado.

At first Electron had to ask himself, "What the hell and I doing?" before realizing that flying debris would be unlikely to have much of an effect on his energy form. With the relief of that realization, his fascination with the probably unnatural phenomenon came to the fore.

As a teenager, Electron is a bit overwhelmed by all the media attention. He tries his best to blend into the background... though since he's made of electrical energy, there aren't many backgrounds that he can blend into.
When cornered by a local network affiliate reporter, about all he manages to spit out is, "Uh, hi." and makes a weak grin.

QNetic dumps power into his legs, powering up speed. (This gives him move-by action.) Hopefully this allows him to grab the animals and pick up the woman on his way running out of the building. If he doesn't have time to grab them all, he saves the woman.

Psst! Using extra effort can give you an extra standard action's worth of stuff to do. All it costs you is fatigue and you look extra heroic for it...

Electron makes sure MINOTAUR is safely on the way out when he heads for the electrical grid and his own escape.

Toughness save vs fire: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 6 - 2 = 16

"He fell two floors?!?" Electron asks with astonishment. Then he shakes his head and uses the electrical wiring to make the jump to 1F. Once he's there, he assesses the situation as best he can. He knows there's little he can do with an electrical body... but if there is debris that can be stabilized by safely arc welding some of the steel support structure, he could at least try that.

Toughness vs fire: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 6 - 1 = 7

Unfortunately, it looks like I'm taking a bit of a roasting from the fire on that one. So maybe I'll plan on taking a recovery to shed being staggered.

With an electrical crackle, Electron traverses the electrical grid to the 3rd floor to help Project MINOTAUR find the missing fireman. He starts in an apartment at one end of the hall and works his way toward MINOTAUR - teleporting across from one side of the hall to the other.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 - 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 - 5 = 9
Toughness vs Fire: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Electron's eyes widen with the dire description of the situation. "Is it possible there are other people trapped in the building? I can't do too much to rescue people directly because, well, this isn't just a powered state - it's my natural state. But I might be able to search through for more trapped survivors."

"Well, I don't breathe any more so I guess smoke inhalation won't be a problem," Electron says with a shrug. "I can't drag anybody out, but I might be of some use finding them, so off I go..." he adds as he pops through the electrical grid again and comes out in a shop across the street from the burning building.

Electron surveys the building, looking for a floor that doesn't seem completely overtaken by the fire but which may endangered by it and makes that the destination for his next electrical grid jump.

Electron uses the grid (making a couple of jumps if necessary) to close the distance to the downed airplane. He starts to move around the plane, careful to stay out of the way of any evacuating passengers, watching for electrical problems (wouldn't do to have an electrical surge ignite another fire).
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Then, he gravitates to the knot of unusual individuals.

"Whoa, I'm amazed this thing wasn't a hell of a lot worse."

Electron reaches in past the control box's door and into the circuitry to use his affinity for electricity to directly manipulate the power and toggle the stop lights. He tries to flip all of them into their yellow to red cycle in order to halt as much traffic as he can and do so over as wide an area as he can.
Technology skill: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27

"I hope that's one less variable to complicate this matter. I hope I haven't made things worse...

Distracted but he window (and thus anything more interesting than the inside of the lab), Electron notices the stricken jet. "omigod! What can I do?!?" initially crosses his mind, but he collects his wits and moves.

Dashing to the wall, he disappears, his electrical energy flowing through the power outlet and though the university's and then city's electrical grid. "I can't get to the plane or keep it from crashing, but I might be able to help indirectly," he thinks as he emerges from a street lamp a mile closer to downtown. He spies a set of traffic lights and is struck with an idea. He starts looking about for a traffic light control box to use...

Earlier today (or last night) I spotted that having an energy body made him immune to that energy already and didn't need the separate power for immunity to electrical attacks - so I got rid of that and picked up the Accurate extra for his teleport power - which seems to fit well anyway.
Current plan - to use the traffic light control box to hack the whole system to red light in an effort to keep panic and confusion to a minimum.

It's usually not easy to wake a teen, even when he has no normal physiology. Griffin was still in a sleepy semi-stupor as his parents argued, for the umpteenth time, about the long term implications of their son's unusual form. The latest battery of tests showed no weakening of his energy capacity, rather, his potential had grown. But that didn't stop them from their usual point/counter-point of alternative theories. Though the usual arguments bored Griffin, he knew they were well-meaning attempts to understand the accident that transformed him and its ramifications. Truthfully, he was quite aware that each of his parents blamed themselves more than they blamed the other for the incident.

But there he sat, an early arrival at the research lab for the first of the weekly tests... and bored out of his metaphorical skull.

And here is the created avatar for Ghost. Of course, just the word "Ghost" is taken, so I had to include the full name, even though he has a secret identity.

I was surprised Electron was taken, but it was.

With a somewhat exaggerated look of revulsion, a translucent and slightly glowing young man chimes in with, "I hope you've got protection if you're going about interfacing with that thing."

I didn't think I was on Roll20 but apparently I made up a login for myself back in 2013. I seem to be Bill D. over there.
