Durlo huffs and jabs a stubby finger toward Magrat, "You'll not be changing ME into anything! I can still feel that hex magic wriggling inside of me. I'll have bad dreams for weeks now because of it!"

Looks good. Thank you for the game. Had a lot of fun roleplaying the witch killer with a witch!

Durlo moves around the sarcophagi and bears down on the last skeleton.

"It's the end of you!"

Durlo studies the skeleton, looking for a weakness. He then swings again at the creature, hoping to end it with one strike.

Durlo yawns, still slightly asleep as the others investigate the hall. When the skeletons are revealed within the room, his quick reflexes snap into motion and he moves into the room, drawing his greatsword and raising it high in the air, awaiting the creature's charge.

"Make sure there are no snakes in those bones, huh?"

Durlo sketches the statues in his notebook and takes copious notes of the hall and connects its imagery with the other areas they have visited.

"Friend Magrat is taking a rest. We probably should too," he says to Esper. He tries to find a good place to sleep in this strange place.

Durlo will finish up cataloging the corridor and then sleep. Then the next day, he will suggest they tear down the boards and go through the last door.

Durlo pulls out of his pack a potion and quickly downs the contents.

He wipes his beard and burps.

"That was exhausting. Let's not fight one of those again, or at least in a room with a low ceiling. Should we explore the crypt next?"

I'm fine either way. As long as no one wants to free up their character for something else, Durlo is ready to continue on.

"YESS!"

Durlo's eyes go wide. He picks up his greatsword and steps in and tries to turn the creature into mush.

Durlo throws another blessed spear. His arm is like jelly, heart pumping rust through the veins across his bicep.

"Hunh!"

Durlo shouts up at the snake creature and throws another holy spear.

Durlo's arm is certainly getting tired. He's never had to throw this many...well anything. Though his arm is tired, his mind works at applying this lesson to hunting witches and evil arcane students. What if they have a spell that can make them climb? How would he deal with them?

Hey now, in my defense Durlo is literally the unluckiest character ever.

Durlo yells out. "When I get hold of you, I will tear you apart!"

He grabs the spear from the guard and flings it up toward the creature.

Magrat sighs. "Honestly."

Durlo growls, "Not another word you.."

"Thank you guardian," Durlo says to the aasimar.

He throws the spear up at the creature, but his aim is utterly awful.

Durlo looks back at Magrat, and though it looks as though it pains him to say it, he says, "Thank you for your healing magic, friend Magrat."

He then takes his last javelin and throws it at the creature.

Durlo grasps his javelin tight and hurls it at the creature. Then he draws out his last javelin.

"Die, stupid creature!"

"We need to hit it with something to get it down." Durlo grunts.

He draws out another javelin and studies the creature for any apparent weaknesses in its defenses.

Durlo produces another javelin and throws it at the vile creature.

"We need him on the ground, now! He will keep healing himself!"

Durlo steps out from the stairwell, and, seeing it skitter up onto the ceiling, draws his javelin and throws it at the creature.

"You aren't going to corrupt these people any more!"

"Good," Durlo says squinting his eyes and drawing out his blade. "Something worth killing."

He attacks the monstrosity without hesitation.

Durlo stalks forward across the room and tries to hike himself up onto the pulpit. Once up, he moves through the curtain.

"Is there a problem here? Heard loud voices."

Durlo watches the exchange between the witch and the preacher. His palm itches to hold the handle of his greatsword again. He looks at Birseko, who is intently staring at the preacher.

Hope he knows something I don't.

Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Durlo has a bit of an easier time of it than Kett, but the exertion still causes sweat to appear on the dwarf's forehead.

Durlo joins in, attempting to quiet his mind, though his stubby, inflexible form cannot stretch into even half of the positions.

Anything! he thinks, Anything to avoid talking of more mammary glands with that woman!

Durlo growls, "Woman if you speak of your fiendish nipples again..."

The dwarf literally begins to shake in anger on the meditation mat.

Durlo keeps his weapons sheathed, on the lookout for any malicious magics in the air, or for Dakang's arrival. He occupies on of the prayer mats.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

"The changed plan looks like the original plan to me. Confront this Dakang about what he is while Esper searches his room. Like it or not, we're still going to have to convince his flock that he's an evil creature bent on their total corruption. Religious types aren't so easy to convince..."

Durlo says this last bit as if he's had more than enough experience with said religious types.

I still think the original plan is the way we should proceed.

LOL.

Durlo blinks. "Nipples? Good ever-flowing sand, woman, what fiendish earworm crawled into that head of yours?!"

That was my understanding.

As Magrat joins the others Durlo says, arms folded, "Well Miss Magrat, I suppose since you likely--what is the word? cavort!--yes, cavort with otherwordly things, what do you think of this Dakang creature from the information we've assembled?"

Also not one for subtlety, Durlo adds, "You might be the best one for that job, friend Esper. I say the rest of us take this thing head on, expose its nature, and destroy it. We should confront it at this ceremony."

Durlo huffs. "We are Pathfinder Society agents sent to document this temple and how it behaves untainted. We need to observe the rites and rituals of Korada without some evil creature perverting it, so, tell us, how do we reveal Dakang's true nature? Also, tell us of the true nature of the Kiss of Korada? Why do people lose their fingers to it after failing? If you help us you can leave with us, or not. I don't care. Tell us what we need to do or I will end this charade."

If Durlo gets a satisfactory answer, he will lower his weapon and go back to the library to finish helping Esper and Kett and relay what he and Birseko have learned.

"Then tell me why life here is so unbearable." He leans closer. "Tell me what's going on here."

"We're going to destroy it," Durlo says. He studies the gnome for a moment, then draws his greatsword and lifts it high over his head to begin chopping at the plant.

Studied Target on the gnome.

"Then we should get rid of this weed. It is a drug."

Durlo watches the gnome for any signs of aggression while he bends down to uproot the plant.

Durlo scoffs. "A forgetful half elf, a gnome, and a drug, it sounds as if it were the start of a tavern joke."

He clears his throat and addresses the gnome. "Yes, tell us, did you plant this here?"

Durlo draws his greatsword.

"Then we do it the Deadshield way."

He takes a massive swipe at the biggest collection of growth, trying to get as much of it as he can.

Durlo cut him down and would bring it to the monks, not letting anyone get near the table if he felt it trying to effect him.

In the garden, Durlo says to the gnome. "This place is a mess. How do you suggest we go about cleaning it up? Is there a specific tool we should use, or a pattern your acolytes prefer, or can we use any implements we desire?"

To showcase this, he points to the large greatsword currently sheathed on his back in a worn leather scabbard.

"Hm," Durlo says. "We should find a way to be rid of this malignant spirit haunting this place, but I have no training with such things."

Did the others, the people of the temple, seem like they felt they compulsion?

"Birseko, you mentioned a gnome needed help in the garden? We could help with that and then return to our catalogue."

Magrat cocks an ear and then says. "I don't hear anythin'."

”Infuriating woman!” the dwarf says. ”Are we even speaking the same language?”

When the others chime in, he also wonders about how often this happens and why. He says, ”Tell us more about why this has happened.”

When all's said and done, he will go up to the body and cut it down. ”We should place him in the crypt.”

"What kind of effect was it? Compulsion?" Durlo says almost out of breath, running into the kitchen. "See, this is what you get for serving dark powers! Friend Magrat, the world is trying to tell you something."

From a distance, Durlo attempts to examine the nature of the magic. If possible, he will use studied target on the corpse to see what effect surrounds it, increasing spellcraft and will saves by +1.

Durlo likewise rushes down the hallway, making an riotous scene in the tranquil place.

"Pathfinder Magrat! Esper, I think the screams came from over here!"

Durlo double moves as well toward the kitchen.

Durlo looks up from the book he is thumbing through and snaps his head over to Esper. "Pathfinder Magrat is in trouble! We have to aid her!"

In a whirlwind of motion he runs out the door in the direction of her voice. Not one for subtlety, he shouts, running, "Pathfinder Magrat! Where are you?! Everyone, to me! We may have trouble!"

Once he has located her, he barrels into the kitchen, weapon drawn. "What is it?"

Durlo continues to flip through dusty tome after tome. Every time he thinks he's narrowed his stack and almost done, Esper manages to find more and adds to his pile. He goes on flipping pages and grumbling sour nothings in Dwarven.

I assume we can start and stop anytime we want? Say, if the team wanted to explore another part and wanted us to come?

Durlo grunts at Esper. "Magic is magic. I'd be rid of all of it if I could have my way over the world. That'd solve most of its problems.

"In any case, this Korada seems to demand a great deal from its adherents."

Durlo shrugs at the librarian, "An index of sorts. We'd like to know what knowledge is contained here."

If she says nothing more he will follow Esper into the room.

"Hm, this could take some time." He turns to the woman and looks up at her. "By the way, don't ever do that--how do you say--that 'eye thing' on me, the one that you did on Kett. You didn't already do it to me, did you? Oh! Some mage trick? How would I know if you did?!"

He talks like that for a few more seconds, more to himself than anyone else, his paranoia on full display. Then he snaps back to the present and gives Esper a suspicious look. Did she make me do that? he thinks, turning back to the room.

"This could take some time," he says.

Durlo will take 20 to search the smaller room for an index of some kind, for a result of 26. If he cannot find anything, he will go to the garden.

Durlo hangs back a moment at the library and asks the librarian, "Excuse me miss, is the library open to visitors? Also, is there a catalog of sorts should we want to search for anything in particular--say a specific book?"

Durlo sloshes along, still feeling the lingering effects of the meal, but otherwise keeping up with the others. When they pass the kitchen, he ask, "Hold there, what do you mean Korada provides? Where do you get your food?"

Durlo studies the Kellid man with curiosity.

Odd behavior from a warrior. I would understand a mage, but...

After a moment of idle thought, he focuses on the scene before him. The food nearly made him sick. If it weren't for his hardy dwarven nature, it just might have. He turns his attention to the food.

Could it be magic? An illusion of some kind?

Will save to disbelieve?: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 +2 more if the effect is arcane magic.

After his own probing of the food, he says to the hosts, "Where does your food come from? Who cooks it?"

Fortitude: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 +2 if poison.

"Hmm." Durlo says, feeling the urge to wretch half-eaten food across the table.
