Drelluandast drops the piece of chalk he’s holding as his chalkboard turns from blue-grey to bright yellow and orange. Clutching the board to his chest, the gnome waves a hasty farewell to the frog he was sketching before turning to the newcomer. ”Solemnia! You’re alright!” Drelluandast grabs the woman by the knees and hugs her tightly, not caring about the chalk dust smeared on his hands and her pants. ”We were so worried about you!”

"The person we found earlier mentioned that the folks from the ceiling went mad, so this could be in a similar vein?" He squares his small shoulders, ready to follow his taller companions.

Web creates sticky strands that must be anchored to points or they collapse in on themselves. That means that the results are almost always two-dimensional planes between the anchor points. In this instance, that meant that the web was anchored to the wall and ceiling and nothing else - the displays are too short according to the GM to be with 20 ft of a spread 35 ft high. From the opponent’s starting height, the entire triangle/plane of web at that “altitude” would fit within a 5 ft square - hence, when the GM says that the opponent would only need to make the single check, they are correct. Again.

Nah, GM has the right of it - diagonals work in 3-D too. A bit difficult to figure a diagonal on both planes, but if we do the horizontal diagonal first (3 squares, 20 ft), then the vertical diagonal along the wall (5 squares, 40 ft), that puts Igor just within range.

As he flicks his wrist to send a green globule of liquid flying at the blue-skinned vargouille, he looks around worriedly. ”Wait, Igor, where are you going? Are you leaving too!?”

"She's safe?" Drelluandast asks, not quite sure he should believe what he's hearing. If I was going to play a trick on someone, voices in the mist would be a pretty good start. Didn't Cousin Zizzabam do something similar to "spice up" Granny Terpsicore's 557th birthday?

He starts making his way back towards the entrance to the room, calling "Solemnia! Can you hear me? Where are you? Are you alright?"

With Jurmo now between Drelluandast’s hiding spot and the ghoul, the gnome has to reconsider his options. If I go out there, it’s an easier shot to hit... but it might claw me back... but if we don’t take it down fast it’ll eat us all anyways... did it eat Solemnia?

He happily points to the closest door on the north (up) side of the hallway, but makes no move to go there first. A particularly thick roll of mist briefly obscures his small form before it recedes and he rises like a monster from the ocean.

It's wrapped around his face and shoulders, covering the nose and mouth and (usually) not coming high enough to cover his eyes. The beard does get in the way a bit, and Rattholomew being snuggled up in the scarf pulls the whole thing slightly to one side.

Drelluandast is wearing a floppy straw hat, a woolen scarf in blues and grays, a blue tunic that matches his beard, comfortable pants with a pouch tied around the waist, and soft brown leather boots. He is carrying a hand-sized chalkboard (which is currently a mix of yellows and golds) in one hand, with a piece of chalk in the other for quick sketches. He tends to drop the chalk when startled - thankfully, it’s relatively cheap.

True that! One of my more memorable scenarios was an infiltration / "bring back the McGuffin" mission where we had an oracle, a sorcerer, and three wizards. Optimal? Definitely not. More fun than you could shake a stick at? Certainly!

And for PFS, make the character you want to play. Scenarios can be almost anything, so there's no way to always be optimal for everything. But if you enjoy playing the character, you'll have fun no matter what you're thrown into.

With a pop, Vindex finds himself much larger than before. Satisfied with his work, Drelluandast takes off for his fallen ally. "Hold on Babine!" he yells.

Drelluandast picked healing sacrifice as his blessing. He doesn't have the actions to use it this round, but he can bring Babine back next round.
