He takes a step back (five foot step), takes careful aim (activate Deadeye deed to resolve attack vs. touch AC), and fires his pistol (using Point Blank Shot)!

He then drops the pistol (free) and draws his sword cane (move)!

Wellstone is uncharacteristically silent as he watches Zadok administer the potions to Johari. He absently pulls out a quill and some parchment and scribbles a quick note, then puts both away.

Going to the doors we skipped makes sense to me as well.
