Doven can lay on hands if Aella needs more healing, too. It may not matter at this point, though.

Doven works as a consulting diplomat between the Pathfinder Society and a hold of orcs he knows near his home in Andoran.

"Well," Doven says, catching his breath, "I can't say we always had time to think things through properly. We just tried to do whatever we could to help people have fun and stop them from hurting others; pretty simple formula, if you ask me."

Liking the odds of three Pathfinders on one fey better than Aella on her own, Doven dashes toward her and Numblekin. Skidding to an awkward stop, he raises his shield and brings his flail around to bear on the red-capped fey.

"Hey Aella!" Doven calls out after her with a grin. "See if any of them want to be your familiar!"

Kit stretches sore muscles and says "Yeah, you can comeon out."

Doven, snapping to as he hears his friend call for him, stands, leaving his flail where it fell. Tired, in pain, and suddenly very ready to be done with all of this, he roars as he tries to punch the opposum right in the nose again.

Doven raises his shield, quickly pulls his flail off his back. He focuses on the ringing courageous anthem to fight his way through the fear gripping him, then sweeps his flail at the bottom of the scarecrow, hoping to knock it over.

"Sure!" With a grin, Doven raises his shield and makes ready to be the tip of the wedge barreling through any resistance.

That beats Doven, who's better at Intimidation. Third time's the charm, right?

"Scaring these creatures that have no clue what's going on is funny? No." Doven glares even harder at the fey as he advances toward them, trying to interpose himself between the angry possums and his allies.

Will continue using Liberating Step if an ally gets hit.

"HEY!" Doven shouts, the big dromaar glaring at the pixies. "Can't you see how terrified these little dudes are? You want to prank the school, that's great, that's what we're all here for, but don't torture these poor critters to do it!"

Doven wanders over and slaps Aella on the back. "Good job, Not-A-Witch!" His hand glows as he congratulates her, and it seems to leave some ethereal foam behind, which quickly suffuses into her, healing her wounds.

Casting lay on hands on Aella. if we have time, he'll then refocus over an ice cold brewski and then do the same on himself.

I think Doven is at 14 damage (4 from the fire, 10 from the claw).

"You need to STAND DOWN!" Doven roars, his anger finally getting the better of him. He swings his first twice more, trying to batter the fey into submission, before once again interposing his shield between the creature and his allies.

Though he likes to tease her about being a witch, Doven has a lot of experience adventuring with Aella, and trusts her judgement. He raises his shield, strides to where she indicates, and throws another punch.

I don't know where it is on the map/where exactly Aella (who made the DC) is pointing, so feel free to move my token to wherever is appropriate. I'm assuming I need to stride once to get to it; if I have to stride twice, cancel the raised shield. If I don't have to stride, Doven would punch a second time.

Doven, hoping to drop the fey without killing it, leaves his flail strapped across his back. Instead, he raises his shield against the blinding light, rushes clumsily forward, and lashes out with a closed fist.

"Thanks for the heads up!" Doven shouts, bracing himself behind his shield against the buffeting winds.

"Woah, that's not good!" Doven says. He rushes in and tries to pat out the nearest flames.

"Hah! Well, the pies certainly were a surprise! And mostly in good fun. Scared a few folks, which is fine--it's a prank war, after all. I think there were one or two pies that got....a little overzealous, maybe. Unless nail pie is a traditional delicacy where you're from. It's that kind of extra step that we're hoping to avoid with the children. We're certainly happy to help remind the revelers of that, if things go a bit too far."

"It's been fun so far, for sure" Doven says with an only-slightly-nervous smile. "Nice to meet you, Pappy; I'm Doven. So, you've brought the caravan to join in? I suppose with an event like this, the more the merrier, and you certainly seem to have a knack for it" he says, gesturing to the scarecrow. "We're happy to have you join in, but are hoping we can get you to agree on a few ground rules: most importantly, no pranks that will injure any of the students, please."

Doven nods, then pokes his head back into Ms. LaForent's room. "Folks, J would like you to press pause in here and regroup in the cafeteria. Wanna walk over with us?"

"Naw, nothin' like a report. We're just tryin' to be friendly. If you don't want to tell us your names, that's OK."

"Well, you seem to have succeeded at giving them a scare! Anyway, thank you."

I'm not sure we have any other primary weapon users, so I'm happy to hold on to it. Doven is a blade ally champion, though, so pretty attached to his flail. If someone else wants to use the knife, that's fine too.

"Hey, could you turn off the pie magic on J, too?" Doven says, as he saunters over to check on Jinglemane. "Shake it off, little dude!" he says to the poppet, slapping Jinglemane on the back. Though the blow is a little harder than maybe Doven means it to be, the friendly feeling of Doven's encouragement seems to suffuse into Jinglemane, knitting some of his wounds back together. Cast lay on hands to heal Jinglemane for 12.

Doven sees the look of fear in the teacher's eyes and rushes in to her side. "SHE SAID LEAVE!" he roars, seeming to grow several inches as his intensity causes him to rise up out of his usual slouch.

Doven manages to stifle his laughter the first time J is hit, and holds himself to just a smile the second time, but is openly giggling by the third. "I'm sure--*hehe!*--it's much less funny when it's happening to you."

He grabs the pie plate the next time it clatters to the floor, holding on as tightly as his muscled hands are able, hoping that by preventing it from fulfilling its purpose the magic will be broken.

Doven does his best to advise the students in what would make their specter truly frightening.

"Ha!" Doven laughs at the sound of the bucket. "What a classic!" He chuckles to himself as he follows Aella toward the school.

"Yeah, maybe we can help you figure something out that doesn't involve hurtin' these little dudes."

"Well, what have you tried so far? What have you done to convince them to go with you?"

"Haha, 'course!" Doven laughs, the tall dromaar sauntering over to help place the bucket at the student's direction.

"Yeah, totally. Also, like, it's a good way to get to know your classmates too. It's important to know how the people you're workin' with operate, y'know? Plus," Doven says with a smile, "it's a chance to get into people's head. Figurin' out how to prank an opponent is good practice for figurin' out how to beat an enemy."

Also, Doven played 3-18, and I played 2-09 on a different character.

Doven holds a hand up to the side of his mouth in and mimes pointing through it toward Aella, silently mouthing "a witch", then grins at the newcomer. "Nice to see ya again, Aella! How's the witch-adjacent life treating you?"

"This is a pretty groovy idea, J!" a burly half-orc says, as he leans back in his chair and takes a sip from his stein. Looking around to the other Pathfinders, he adds "What's up, everybody! I'm Doven. Good to meetcha!"

"Dang, man. Stupid rocks!" Doven clatters back up to his feet, swinging his flail at the rock pin betweened himself and Faldur.

Battered by the rocks but undeterred, Doven quickly draws his flail, then hesitates a moment before deciding not to take the time to attach his shield to his arm. Instead, he steps forward and engages the rock streaked with bluish oxidized copper ore, swinging his flail at it once.

Seeing Scerzaq's sword cut through the creature so effectively, Doven drops his flail, draws his sword, and slashes into the smaller creature pinned between himself and the ratfolk.
