Dolo and Glor both look at the haughty, royal princess, then turn to face each other. Dolo frowns as he mulls over what he discovers. 'She's hiding something. Something important, too.' they communicate together telepathically. "Nurianna. Your Highness. You are among friends now. We fight the same fight. We put ourselves in harm's way to protect you and your friends. Please tell us why the Baron continues to accost you if it is not for the Abominations. It makes to sense to us but we believe there is more to the story. That information will aid us in both protecting you and keeping our mission viable. Please, Your Highness." pleads the gnome in his most diplomatic style.
I don't see a map so I will have two options listed Dolo seeks to aid the princess trapped in the well. Dolo and Glor fly swiftly to the edge of the pit to offer assistance. At the same time, Dolo will do one of the following, based on what he sees: If a large group of enemies can be seen, he will cast a swarming mass of black tentacles into their midst to stop them in their tracks. If not, he will cast Glitterdust on the nearest group of archers, trying to catch as many as possible in the spell.

Glorfindal and Dolo easily spot the netting among the trees and relays the information to Dolo. "Nets in the trees! It's an ambush! Watch yourselves!" shouts the scholar as Glor maneuvers quickly to avoid being caught. Fly check = 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34 The pair make a barrel roll and twist deftly through the trap to aid those on the forest floor.
"Just throwing this out there. Wouldn't it be better to bring the artifacts to Izmir for safekeeping first? It would be easier to return for those bonded than to further risk the abominations." offers Dolo in a logical fashion. The risk must be considered, beyond the weighting of extraneous influences.
"Tis true, good man. The abomination can be removed by use of a rare ritual. We performed it successfully in Izmir on Belsarious. I, myself, was part of said ritual. If it is bonded to you, your presence is indeed necessary to make the artifact inert. Our aim is to destroy them all. We have leads on others but our first priority will be to get these back for safekeeping or destruction." offers the gnome.
When it is confirmed that the Wolfknights have moved on, Dolo speaks up, albeit quietly. "The coins I found on the flying demon archers on the bluff came from the Baron Ormir. I sense untruth in his words. They seek the same as our enemy, Iomedae help us. We are sure to see their ilk again as they fight us for what we seek and find. Be wary my friends. Be very wary."
Dolo uncharacteristically stays quiet throughout the exchange. He looks on warily as Sir Damien communicates for them all. Sense Motive check: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Dolo manages to glean some knowledge as he mulls over the situation. He dare not speak it now though, until they are alone.
"I will honor your charge as well Sir Damian. It is not right nor fit for their continued imprisonment. A shame they suffer due to the pride or ignorance of the one who led them." offers the small scholar. Dolo examines the items a bit. "As for the items, let me see what I can see." states Dolo matter-of-factly as he concentrates on them intently. Taking care not to touch any item directly, Dolo casts a spell over the items and begins to concentrate. Spellcraft skill check for Detect Magic. 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (9) + 14 = 23

Round 3 - Initiative 10 Glorfindal rocks back on his clawed heels at the sudden appearance of the bearded devil. With a casual look about, Dolo quickly understands how this area was constructed. Skill check - KS:Engineering=1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 "This was once a hearty place. It was constructed to reflect light. Interesting how times change from a warm, welcoming refuge to this." he offers, sweeping his arm about to accentuate the desolate feel to the area now.
Dolo just shrugs at the questions. "Even the gods, including Iomedae, opposed them. There have been great sacrifices to destroy them and stop their plunder of our world. I agree with Sir Damian that we must do what we can so that does not occur. Without more information, we can only keep up with our end of the mission." The gnome shrugs again and wanders off to rest. He checks on Glor and mutters to him in a strange language.
Maiathreen Gyssearnith wrote: Maiathreen stumbles as he enters the greatroom. "What the hell were those things and how did they know your name?" He says as he looks over at Dolo. Once Dolo settles down and realizes they were'nt in any more immediate danger, he answers Mai. "Those acid creatures are known as Delvers. They were sent ahead to our planet by the Metallum. They are of the same hive-mind. They must know me like the other metallic creatures knew me. My guess is from the ritual to contain the abomination where we used part of the Metallum to contain the nightshade within. I was involved in the ritual. I don't know how else they know me." offers Dolo, settling into lecture-mode. He tended to do that easily but it was still clear he was rattled.
Dolo was concerned with the skeleton in front of him, not that his companions ran away. He thought he was getting the upper hand with his application of grease. When the slug-like Delver surfaces from the solid ground, Dolo stares. He blinks. His mouth gapes open. He pees a little in his trousers - involuntarily, of course. When his name is pronounced, he gapes in disbelief. 'What the heck..." The words of warning galvanize the summoner into action - if you call running away and screaming like a little girl action. He doesn't have to be told twice to get the heck out! He doesn't even look back to see if the others join him.
"Um, guys. Where are you going?!" shouts Dolo as everyone flees. He concentrates on the mental connection with Glor but gets nothing but hysteria and wild panic. 'Magic' he mutters under his breath. Quickly, Dolo steps back out of reach of the skeleton and drops a glob of grease on the ground under the undead's feet, hoping it slips and falls. He needs to buy some time. "Back to the camp!" he yells to the two winged elves who joined them.
Folks, I am recruiting for another game on RPOL.net. It is a unique Pathfinder game with a few interesting house rules. It is low level and low-magic for now. Players are HUMAN only - elves and dwarves are the enemy! It is a battle for survival or rather a fight to prevent extinction as a race. The game is open to join. We are assigning new players to the new adventures now. Just mention you know me. I am GM - Triton. Here is the link to the game, called Humanity's Twilight on RPOL:http://rpol.net/game.cgi?gi=42133&date=1301366571 Hope to see you there!

Dolo jumps to his feet and prepares for battle! Before I declare my actions, is that slug near the camp or no? from the looks of it, the skeletons block the scouts and the delver is on its way to them. Is that correct? The first skeleton shatters into splinters from the assault of the planar eidolon. The claws struck home repeatedly but weren't as effectual as the crushing bite of the draconic beast. Regardless, the troll skeleton falls!
Sir Damian Lamorak wrote: "Let's wait for Min to scout ahead a little, then decide. We need to set up a watch in case something comes out. In the future, let's talk as a group before unsealing possible unspeakable evil hordes, all right?" "Agreed. On both counts." The last statement was coupled with a stare at Mai.
"Whatever is down there surely heard Mai's knocking.". The diminutive professor glares icily at the Aellar. "Sure you don't want to yell, 'Honey, I'm home'?" "I would rather not venture down if we can help it." Dolo looks to Sir Damian for direction. Reminds me of the hobbits knocking the skeleton down the well in the Lord of the Rings movie. ;D

"Aye Belsarious. I'm with you. We saw this used several times in as many days. Seven and the world becomes covered in ice. I would rather this one in our hands be rendered inert than risk losing it while chasing another. Let's speak with Sir Damian about. Together we may be able to convince him the wisdom of our plan."
Responding to Mai, "Well, that's different. I'm not sure that is the case with the one soldier jumping but I hear you." "Did you say the inkpot was a deep blue color?". Dolo looks closely at the snowglobe on the staff. The colors match. He recalls the construction of the teapot as well and it was the same. He pulls out the dagger he was given and it was the same color. "The abominations are all constructed of the dead flesh of the Metallum Aeturnum. This is very curious indeed. If that is the case, the inkpot can be virtually confirmed then as an abomination as well. Do you know how to get back to your captor Mai?" "Captain Merit told us that a monk and his companions carry another abomination, the Box of Infinate Devouring. He marked on a map where we could find him." "At some point we need to venture back to Izmir to disable the Abominations for good. This will render their magicks inert. "I know where we can go to get a full description of all of the Abominations as well. I know of a library that has a book with the full descriptions of each abominations and their last known whereabouts. At some point we should venture there to do some research."
"I don't know where the next abomination is. Belsarious is the one to ask. Believe it that they'll be back for it. I just can't understand how they are moving around so quickly. My theory is that there is someone or something teleporting them around. Maybe we caught up to them while they were waiting for a ride. Perhaps they are working with the metallum and being transported through the earth. If that is the case, I wonder if the hive-mind is aiding them with information and, in the case of the suicide, controlling their actions." rattles off the Professor as he works out the logic of it all.
