I was thinking the module, as I didn't feel I personally had enough time with Diene to say where she was going, except "The Continuing Adventures!" type sendoff.

Looking through the "skills sheet" it looked like there were roles and stats for some sort of subterfuge based subsystem. Where can I read up on that?

Also, is the Combat Stamina feat/rule system available? I'd happily spend a feat on it for the build I have in mind.

Hello, Diene here from Darkest Corners Volume 2 Electric Boogaloo. I believe I've been selected for my skills at sticking with roleplays that post once a month. You should have seen the time when I managed to respond within 24 hours after a two year hiatus. :P

As I understand things, we are in a city under martial law from someone who's coming off a bit crazy. Getting some Cheliax vibes? I think I remember House Thrune being part of that. And Church of Asmodeus and all.

My character would need to be a prisoner. First off the top of my head idea is that my character was caught breeding vermin to sell dead ones to the authorities, British India style. They managed to hide their money they made however, both from selling directly, and selling to other folks, which explains how they can quickly regear themselves to appropriate PC level. (Unless you want to make that into a plotline.)

And that's what I've got from the Campaign Info.

Looks like character creation is third level with some fun bonuses?

"I'd hate to run into another ambush like that, but it's not like our scout can see invisible beasties either. If they've got another one of those, I think our best solution is just to stay close with each other. Any other ideas?"

Diene stays still for a moment and nods her thanks at Mia. Her stance relaxes slightly, as though she was mostly holding on by tensing and sheer willpower at this point before.

"Damn, maybe I should invest in some like, of those little Dart thingy that never miss scrolls or something for dodgy invisible bastards like this." Diene's wounds barely look any better, but she readies herself to re-enter the fray once more with a charge, her deft Dragon footwork allowing her to do so through allies.

She wasn't really sure why footwork techniques that let you move gracefully through allies were related to dragons, as they kind of just smushed everything in their way, but so it was.

I think what happened is, I said that Diene was withdrawing, and she, IC told Isama that she was up (as in that the tanking role was now hers as the only frontliner left), and then Isama actually went action wise.

As Diene's magical protections fail, and with her inability to use her precise martial techniques to parry against an invisible foe, Diene takes two hard hits that almost takes her off her feat.

"Kkkhaa... Damn it. Isama, sorry, you're up. I've got to retreat for the moment." Diene seethes through gritted teeth, clearly not happy to have to admit defeat.

Is the positioning such that a Withdraw action would allow me to fall back? I'm all for macho fighting to the bitter end, when the situation calls for it, but this might be the right time to let Isama have her moment to frontline. I don't think the stakes are right for fighting to the death, and a lucky hit might off me.

Yes, both attacks should hit. I would try to parry one, but even though I'm not flatfooted, I don't think I count as "aware of the attack".

I had originally thought it was 22 as well, but then you guys showed me it would count as Beast Shape 2, not Alter Self, for the Hybrid form.

I do not believe that hits me. My base unbuffed AC is 14, and I have Mage Armor (+4 Armor), Polymorph -> Beast Shape 2 (+2 Nat Armor), and Shield (+4 Shield) running.

Diene feels a hit.. but her thick hide at the moment takes most of the impact, leaving her more or less unharmed.

It compares favorably to the "blind flailing" option of attempting to hit an invisible target. Also, I thought it was 4 10x10 cubes, +1 per CL, so, for a wand wouldn't it be 5? Or am I remembering incorrectly?

Diene, predictably, unleashes a snarling flurry of blows and claws at her attacker. However, her sense of smell doesn't seem to be keen enough to pinpoint the target accurately enough for a hit.

Diene will move into the next room, and if she doesn't immediately spots foes, will use her second move action to try to enter another room if possible.

I'm not certain, I think I still get move actions under this effect, but I'm not sure I'd want to move away from the relative safety of the group.

Diene's mad cackling however was not "slightly creepy", as the were-goblin-dog-thing she currently was literally howled with laughter. Clutching her sides, she falls backwards. Apparently, it was a very funny thing that just happened.

The dagger practically bounces off her toughened hide, though it does a nick a little away, Diene hardly notices it. 3 damage doesn't break her temp HP from Cruel.

She pummels at the man she has trapped in the corner, ready to step to the southeast if her target falls and continue attacking.

Diene snarls. A very literal snarl given her current form, as a bolt nearly takes her eye. But it doesn't. The bolt with murder on its mind screeches its metalic pain as it is bent in half inside Diene's paw, before clattering discarded to the ground. And it was definitely Diene's intent to do the same to the one who fired the arrow.

Deflect Arrows! I am a monk. :P

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 +2 if Mia's ability hasn't expired yet.

I would roll my intimidate and sicken stuff, but somehow I doubt this guy'll still be alive.

Given a clear line of charging, Diene would once again rush into the fray to join battle. Given a not so clear line of charging, she would move forward, so that NEXT turn she could pummel them.

Diene leads the way. Given her daily supply of feeling angry about things was feeling a little low and she was feeling a bit mellow, she decided to apply her shield wand before heading down in the front of the team. The fact that she still had ouchie knife wounds probably had nothing to do with her caution.

Temp Buffs: Probably a minute or two remaining on Goblin-Dog-Werewolf Mode (which I realized counts as Polymorph which actually counts as beast shape 2 which DOES have 2 nat armor, because it specifies the hybrid form uses the stats of a wolf), probably 55 minutes or so of mage armor, a minute of shield. AC is temporarily 24.

Also, how does having trip work, if I don't have the natural attack trip is applied to on a Wolf?

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24
Stealth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Init: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17

I have double checked and my werewolf form does not provide Natural Armor. But I'm also already wearing an Amulet of Mighty Fists.

"You can keep it, I prefer the aggressive enchantments on this one." Diene taps her own amulet with one of her mostly for show claws.

"But wow, that's a lot of spider stuff. Guess they like spiders as much as I like goblin-dogs." That's about all Diene has to say on the knowledge-y stuff.

"Shouldn't we keep moving and save the forensics for after the buffs have worn off? We can use that stuff to prove they were the bad guys, after we finish crunching their faces in."

Charging Reckless Nonlethal Punch: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35
Damage: 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19
Demoralize: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (19) + 22 = 41

AC 17 atm.

There's also the problem that lots of different people like to play lots of different ways, and so, for some people, Animate Rope is amazing because their GM loves puzzles, and for other people, it's worthless because their GM uses combat primarily.

So, it feels like, if you try to cover all the different GMing styles, 90% of the options will be worthless if your GM is a different type.

Huh. Well. I've been complaining about system bloat for a long time. Hopefully this works well for them. But, given the experience with Starfinder, I doubt they'll solve my primary problem of 90% of spells/feats are worthless traps.
