Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
"No, since nobody else seems to want healing, I should do this in a far more controlled fashion." Deng then reaches out to the world around him, drawing some of the life energy from around him and pouring it into the halfling's form . . .. CLW: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Probably need to do another. In case another is required to help him reach consciousness . . ..
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
Deng approaches the small form, intent on seeing how bad the situation is. "I should be able to get him back on his feet, eventually." --- Heal: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 I'm hoping this will give me an idea just how bad off he is . . .. Though the die kinda sucked.

Wife and household goods both showed up. The bathroom, bedroom, part of the living room and some of the kitchen are in order. Enough that we can live day-to-day while she goes through the rest of what she brought and gets it all put away. I hope she can make it all fit. I'm really not certain she can. Still have boxes scattered in the dining room, living room and kitchen, and the second bedroom is about 50% full of boxes, too. She's spent the last seven months getting rid of stuff, too.

As a head's up: I moved 1,000 miles 7 months ago. Thursday night my wife finally arrives. The movers MIGHT arrive on Friday. My internet connection changes from one apartment to another on Saturday. So, the odds are REALLY good that the last meaningful connection with me for this weekend will be on Wednesday.

After Petra's choice to go without mundane medical attention, Deng chooses to also avail himself of water from the well. The first couple of buckets are dedicated to cleaning himself and his gear. Then he worries about slaking his thirst and refilling his waterskin. Yes, Deng sleeps in his LIGHT armor. The only real risk from this normally is stench, since Medium armor is the start of fatigue from trying to sleep in it normally. I have no idea what watch Deng is assigned, but . . .. Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
Once everyone finds a way to settle into their shelter for the night, the half-orc anounces "I've got a little more healing I can provide the two of you before we rest for the night. If you want, I can also take the time help you recover better through the night, but it will use up expendables from the healer's kit . . .." With Healing Hands, Deeng can provide long term care for up to 12 people at the same time, including himself. That doubles the overnight healing rate (level points per 8 hours of rest, normally). Bit ot requires that those being healed REST for 8 hours. Regardless of the answer to the following question, I intend to spend my daily expendables getting some more healing in before we rest. Heal before resting still as though Level 2, or as Level 3? <g> I'm honestly not expecting the answer to be for the bigger numbers. Really, I'm not. Channel (Lvl 2): 1d6 ⇒ 5 for anybody injured that positive energy can heal
CLW for Karmuk: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 +1 if appropriate
Expends all channels and spells available as 2nd level caster 0 spells and 0 channels remain for the day.
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
Characters functionally leveled yet, or after a bigger break in the action? Deng makes sure the 2 dwarves are close to him before releasing another blast of positive energy to heal the injured members of the group. Channel (lvl2): 1d6 ⇒ 2
Frownie face. STILL less than average. 2 spells and 1 channel remain for the day.

Aurengil wrote: Deng, I think you ought to consider the spell sanctuary. It's great for getting around the battlefield so you can cure people. Otherwise, you might consider bless. I hadn't ignored you. Safe Curing and Sanctuary seem to be after the same goal, and I AM taking Safe Curing sooner or later. Deng gets too few spells known to pick one that duplicates an ability he's going to get through other means (other than the healing series, of course). Going with Selective Channeling and Decompose Corpse, I think. I'm getting the Revelation that let's Deng become a pillar of Positive energy, so that other people can simply walk THROUGH ME and be healed (one per round, level rounds per day).
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
So, what does the group think Deng should take for his next 1st level Cleric spell? Right now, I'm thinking about one of these two: The first is an undead specific debuff. The second is a minor flaming weapon buff. I AM open to suggestions. The Feat that's leading the pack is Selective Channeling. I haven't even looked at Feats yet, but it seems the obvious choice (Jon). Edit: Extra Revelation: Safe Curing looks pretty good, too. Not provoking when casting healing spells . . ..
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
"He'll live if I have anything to say about it!" Deng kneels down over Karmuk's form, looks up into the sky and then forces positive energy into the prone dwarf. CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 "How bad off are we? I've got another couple of channels and spells before I'll lose my connection to life until I can rest up."
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
Seeing the zombies leave Karmuk lie, and Jon measuring the distance between them, Deng steps away from Jon before providing as much help for the group as he can, and powering a burst of the power of life out into the area around him. Channel Positive to Harm Undead, DC 14 for half: 1d6 ⇒ 4
No way to get Z6 without getting Jon, so . . ..

Jon Pariah wrote: sorry Deng, I know your channeling would make a huge difference if Jon weren't trapped in here with you. Honestly, I don't think so. The relatively limited range of a burst, how scattered the dead are and my bad dice all suggest that it would be far less effective than you suggest. "So, where to now? I agree there's no reason to trust those brutes, but we really haven't done anything to help the people back in the keep, yet."
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
As the group decides to take the time to eliminate the dead threat from the relative safety provided by the gate, Deng nods and waits, idly tapping the whip a this side, the closest thing he carries to a ranged weapon. He jumps when the Burning Hands spell goes off inside of their wooden cage, and does a quick inspection to see if he needs to create water to help prevent any real damage as a consequence of that spell . . ..
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
Deng just shakes his head. "At least they're not ringing a bell or something to draw the dead closer. I would be ready for them to do that after we clear their gates, though. I don't think they want us to survive." Looking out at the scattered dead, Deng makes a guess. "Based on what I see, once we get through the gate, we should make a break to the left, and try to build a little distance between them and us."
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
Deng moves with the group, recognizing the old prejudices but confused about how little this camp resembles the village they had set out to find. Didn't one of them say the dead outside were the villagers? Why would these warriors be so healthy while those that should have protected re all taken? This does not bode well. The "leader" goes through his display and exchange with Petra, but Deng finds himself slowly shaking his head. I have a really bad feeling about this.
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
"I have to agree that there is something not right about Jon, but he's not made a threatening move like he was going to try to eat anyone, and he has been amazingly helpful in keeping us alive as the dead have tried to stop us from getting even this far from White Keep." Diplomacy Aid Another: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 Facepalm
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
As the man at the gate asks Aurengil, by name, if he is lord of White Keep, Deng's eyebrows climb up his forehead. "This may come as a surprise to you, but we were sent to see what we could do to help improve the life of those secure behind the keep's walls, at the Lord's request. I am Deng, by the way."
Male Half-Orc Oracle 3
"Looks like the dead are well focused on their meal. Maybe if we just avoid attracting their attention?" He looks thoughtful for a moment. "Yeah, right. I'm going to hide myself from them. Anybody else confident that you'll attract their attention instead of sneak past?" --- Casts Hide from Undead on self and Karmuk. I had forgotten that it was 1 person per level! Woo-hoo! remaining today:
