My bad. I was looking at the clerics turn undead ability when i searched in D&D Beyond. Then I didn't realize the "Destroy Undead" was a separate ability. Just saw the chart when I scrolled down. Daryl will change his action to casting bless. He has pretty much used everything he can do from a distance, so will concentrate on keeping the others up. Plus don't want to get in the way of any AoE spells cast by the others.

Realizing that he is not very effective at anything that requires range, Daryl concentrates on keeping the flock under his divine reach.

Daryl will attempt to Channel Divinity.

(WIS save or destroy 4HD or less that can see him).

So does Daryl's "Aura of Courage" not eliminate the Frightened condition?

Daryl is overcome with sadness at what is unveiling itself here, but his steadfast determination to get to the thumping is only further enforced by the knowledge uncovered by Szasa.

He simply grunts and keeps plodding forward.

Daryl works extra hard looking and gathering texts, so perhaps nobody will notice that he kept one of the texts.

Daryl has 8-rounds of Aura of Vitality left. I believe these numbers are still halved... so you do the math. :-)

Falko gets 3
2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6 (1)
2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5 (2)
2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10 (3)
Finlogan gets 3
2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8 (4)
2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8 (5)
2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 (6)
Szasa gets 2
2d6 ⇒ (1, 6) = 7 (7)
2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9 (8)

After that he'll try a "Lessor Restoration" on Falko

Move to Finlogan, descending as I go.Bonus Action Heal Finlogan 2d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12 Aura of Vitality. Nice 6-points back.

He then strikes out with his mighty Warpick at the remaining enemy.

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13Warpick (Charged with Divine Smite (2nd level spell).

1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Magic Warpick Piercing

Daryl seeing that the tides of battle seem to have turned, does a quick prayer and calls upon the might of Enlil to start healing his companions.

Cast Aura of Vitality First healing on the fallen Lindaer.

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13 WIS Save

2d6 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10 Healing

But the healing force is still hard to come by.

I'm assuming only healing half of the 10? Since this spell lasts for a minute, do I roll a new save every round, or is the save for this whole casting?

Daryl moves up two, east one, down 5' and breathes flame trying to get as many worm swarms in as he can, and miss Falko.

5d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 3, 5) = 18 Fire damage (Save DEX19 for half).

Then he returns to his 10' hovering height.

Daryl would normally hover about 10' off the ground... or just enough to see over the bookshelves. PS: I can't remember if we had a long rest since his last Lay on hands...

Daryl floats down and cast Cure Wounds @ Level 4 on Lindaer.

Daryls AC is temporarily 26. He files south two squares descending slightly as he goes, to strike at the wormanoid there, then rises back up

Books and scrolls are beyond Daryl's province, unless they are religious texts. "If any of you find any religious texts, please set them aside for me".

Otherwise he assists the others when asked, and is overwhelmed with the knowledge offered here. He finally decides to ask Enlil for help.

Daryl reaches out to cast some healing magic on Szasa.

He then moves to within the protection of his guardian.

"Come! Gather around me and my guardian. Make them come to us instead of splitting up and letting them flank us".

Sorry about not being engaged more. All the newfound abilities, and tactical combat spacing are a bit overwhelming to me, but still here and trying. I'll get better as I become more familiar with the other players tactics, and how Daryl's abilities interact. At least I know a spell I need to pray for at the next rest".

Daryl, placement of GoF matters. What square are you putting it in, relative to yourself? You can drop it anywhere within 30 ft line of sight.

The undead seem to care little for the paladin's inquiries, or perhaps find his language unfamiliar...they might very well be of a wholly different age, like the rest of this place.

Falko up.

Not sure how to designate the square. Daryl would step out into the hallway, then place his guardian somewhere to the right of the hallway where most creatures would have to pass buy it to approach the party. Sorry I don't know how to be more specific. Also, as a large creature I'm assuming it takes up 4 squares?

Daryl gives a quick glance to Lindaer for his quick intervention, then steps into the hall where he can get a better idea of the situation... just in time to see Lady Szasa send forth a blinding fork of lightning.

He summons forth his Guardian of Faith, then shouts out to the vengeful spirits.

"Why do you attack us? Who are you? Can we do anything to help ease your torment of undeath"?

Daryl watches the events unfold with a great deal of confusion. It seems as though time is being manipulated somehow. We must get to the bottom of this.

I'm assuming there is not enough left to try and determine how the man died... though it's pretty obvious. I'll make a medicine check just in case.

I agree. I'll post more for Daryl to clarify. I see him more as a support... fill in the blanks character at this time, as he's really good at a lot of things, but not the best at any... except support... which is fine, I'm learning a lot and enjoying the game.

Daryl gasps and turns to the others with a look of horror on his face. "I"m...I'm not sure we should go there. It's extremely fiendish, and I fear for all of our souls should we proceed".

Daryl spends the first period of time after the conclusion of the battle in prayer, and giving thanks for his companions safety and powerful abilities. He notices the others coughing and gagging, and decides he doesn't need to experience the same first hand, and is satisfied with their observations.

When the others gather around he joins them to see who might be in need of some healing... only to find that most has already been taken care of. He nods and giggles as the healing spirits flitter around him closing most of his wounds. He then asks Enlil to close the remainder of his wounds, and runs his now glowing hands along the wound areas, marveling as usual at the feeling of holy healing.

Good idea on the discussion thread. It's a bit out-of-hand right now, as we learn how to best use our powerful abilities to work as a team when needed. Normally a group has the "growth" time to work together, so the strategies and tactics are known to all. I think the biggest challenge might be to learn to work together as a team. Everybody has super powerful abilities to try out, and so far they're working out well. Daryl is more of a support / buff character even at this level, but has some nasty tricks up his sleeve if needed.

For some reason the "Gameplay" thread is not 'dotting' for me. Hopefully that will correct itself, but in the meantime I'll just have to check for new posts more.

Well she might be in need of aid. It looks like the others have things well in hand...Quite an awesome display I might add.

Regarding Aid, believe it or not I actually accounted for it in the latest status.

The most powerful and evil presence on the battlefield is the pit fiend (Degamos, presumably its name). It is currently tumbling in a 300 ft high tsunami while being pelted with meteors behind a 10 ft high ice wall. You'll definitely need a Dash to get into melee range, but theres a chance the tsunami will wash it away even further next round. So move 30 then casting SoF?

Yep. Then 30' more. Nothing like reserving resources...

Remember Szasz, Lindaer, and Daryl have 15 temporary HP. Daryl said he'd cast it again if the 8-hours had expired from last time he cast it.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 DEX Save

Daryl rises about 5' above the ground, the angelic white wings from his boots flying him forward. Just as he begins to assess the battleground, a fireball explodes and catches him in it's grasp.

Temporary HP soaked up 15 points so Daryl only takes 4hp.

He gives a quick thanks to Enlil under his breath, as he senses his divine hand intercede and absorb much of the damage. Daryl uses Divine Sense to ferret out the most powerful foe, and heads in that direction. He can move 30' per round as his move. If it makes sense to go higher as he moves forward he will do so.

"Quake in fear evil ones. Your day of doom has arrived".

Daryl is all about dramatic entrances. If it takes more time to get there, he will cast Shield of Faith as he flies towards that most evil entity.

Daryl is shocked by the sight in front of him. His mouth gapes as the battle unfolds.

Just posting to let you know I'm still active...

RETCON "Perhaps next time instead of just destroying everything we meet, we can take the time to question them and extract information about what we might be facing"? Daryl frowns at the impulsive and reckless attacks on a simple imp.

As they got close Daryl would have activated his winged boots, but if he didn't have time, not a big deal.
