Darian says, "There's nothing for it, we must press on." He studiously avoids the mold and moves to the blood-marred doors. "Someone must've left this blood, and it is likely recent, or else it would have faded long ago. Let's try these doors."

"Ah, hello, Sanvil. I am called Darian. It's true, I have been in an unusual cave system below the hillside on the north of the town. I appreciate the offer. Thus far we've encountered some hostile life forms and some broken devices spewing lightning, but not too much else," says Darian in reply.

"Unfortunately it seems that the kinds of high-value devices that explorers often crave are in short supply and not commonly found in this particular cave system."

Darian looks a bit out of place. He moves from game to game, simply watching how they are played, but not participating. Eventually he winds up back near Jolkum and bluntly says, "Is our host keeping us waiting in hopes that we will lose money at his games?"

Darian spends about two hours puttering around in Khonnir's lab, and produces a small vial of a deep red fluid. He examines it critically and then tells the team, "I have manufactured a tincture that can heal small injuries. If anyone wishes to keep it on hand, please feel free to take it."

When the letter arrives, Darian frowns and says, "This man, Garmen, is an influence-peddler and gatherer of information. I would not be surprised if he sold information to the Technic League. We should see what he wants, but not give him any information about what we've found."

I've no requirements, though if we have a couple hours to kill and use of Khonnir's lab space, I could spend 25 gp to make a potion of cure light wounds.

"Not such a loss - this is indicative of the larger sorts of pieces that we might find elsewhere in Numeria. Perhaps after we have recovered Khonnir Baine and rescued Torch, we can undertake an endeavor to find more such locations and learn from them."

Darian pauses, then lurches through the invisible wall. "A most curious sensation," he opines flatly. "Unexpected."

Darian says, "And still no sign of Khonnir? And no tracks? This is unfortunate."

He pauses for a moment, then says, "If Khonnir passed through this area, he should have left tracks in the sand."

Darian crouches down to examine the remains. "I wonder what animated these?" he muses. "Certainly we've seen little to suggest some kind of graveyard or evil cleric here."

Darian lobs another bomb just over the skeletons so that it lands behind them, splashing them with its contents but not hitting his party members.

Targeting a floor space is generally AC 5. Should automatically do 5 splash damage to them, DC 14 Reflex save for half.

Darian hurls a bomb as the creatures approach - hopefully before anyone gets into melee range.

That will almost certainly miss.

"Like other remains we have discovered, these might be the result of changes wrought by the strange energies of this enclosure, or perhaps even creatures brought here when these skymetal rooms crashed to Golarion," says Darian.

"Possibly, since it is old and broken it... could be, like an old alchemist's lab with unknown things in it. Be cautious."

Androffan:
"Then we are entering one of the fallen star chambers. That fits with what we have discovered this far."

To Azmerai he then says, "She thinks these are designed as a sort of... passage between this space and the gray spaces beyond. This is the true entrance to the place where all these sky-tools came from, and perhaps beyond this gate is the true source of the Torch."

Darian nods. "This is a useful cache of materials, but we still must keep searching."

"This may be... some kind of animal containment? Like a barnyard? These bones appear to be for a livestock animal, or something like that, but not necessarily common to Golarion," says Darian.

Addressing the dark-dweller, Darian asks, "Is there anything more you can tell us about these caves or the ones who came before us?"
