Dar'erthan bows to his head to everyone at the conclusion, aand says softly "May the sunlight of Sarenrae forever shine on you and protect you in your fights against evil." He smiles, pulling out a shiny coin, "Let the tavern see my coin, and our thirsts be quenched." he continues as he claps Evenstar's back and follows her to get the drinks in. Echoes Evenstar's thoughts entirely.

I really enjoyed this, thanks to our GM and the other players. It kept a good pace throughout, difficult for a pbp, but it kept up, which is really good. I liked having a bit of a story to go with it, rather than the short 1 off scenarios. So I joined you on Oct 10 finished on Jan 21, so just over 3 months for the equivalent of 3 scenarios, which I think is pretty good going. More than happy to keep playing with the group, its been a lot of fun.

Dar'erthan follows the others through the double doors, as he hears the threat. He points at the woman and says "Let the holy fire burn those who fight against Sarenrae's greatness." GM Hawkeye wrote: Climbing down the trap door and opening the door to the east, the party finds themselves in a corridor with two more doors and another hallway that seems to head further east. "Now, you want to get after Robella, then I suggest the ladder" says Dar'erthan to the assembled party, as he points into the trapdoor. Before turning to Dolph, "One of many doors, no doubt, yes." and agreeing with the dwarf. He continues, "We find Robella, yes? We hunt her." He lets the dwarf and Victor make their way down before he follows as one of the last down, when he picks up the broom, carrying it with him, keeping it lit like a torch, through Sarenrae's blessings. Keeps casting light on the broom as required. Suggest the eastern door from the room below, whoever is down there.

Dar'erthan hears that Misforstatt has the situation under control, and knows that the man's statement will confirm the innocence of the circus people. He smiles to himself, at last confident that this rag tag group of pathfinders has what it takes and he will be able to continue on his path to be an able member of the Society. He turns to Evenstar and says quietly, "Once Misforstat has finished his questioning, I think it advisable to tie this young man up, we will need his statement for Lawkeeper Feldane." He goes to the door and looks in on the scene of the interrogation, "Well done Misforstatt, just remember to ask for his name as well, it's only polite." he says with no little sarcasm in his voice and smile. Continuing he says gently, "And of course he can show us any relevant files and papers."
Male Human Cleric 1
Looking straight at Arthrax, Dar'erthan's eye suddenly blink, and his mouth drops on hearing Misforstatt's words. He stops momentarily, paralysed by surprise, but only for seconds at most. It dawn's on him, they might have accomplished the goal of their mission, if his words are true.
Male Human Cleric 1
"Now we have opened the trap door and announced ourselves with the broom and light, I think it best we bite the bullet and go below. It would be just as easy for us to be surprised by someone coming up, as it is by someone going down." the cleric argues. "However any immediate threat, would come from within that door," he says pointing to the door in the south. "It would be best to check that, before moving into the darkness below. Misforstatt can you open it?"
Male Human Cleric 1
In the room as MIsforstatt pokes his head though the trap door, shake his head and rub his nose, Dar' asks the others, "Do you want so light shed down there?" He picks up one of the brooms, praying to Sarenrae to grant her sunlight shine brightly as the broom beginns to glow. Casts light on the broom and if either Dorf or Anthrax want him to light the room he will drop the broom down through the trapdoor hole.

"These papers are not securely kept in place, likely they won't be much use in our investigations. Let's continue on and return for these once we have finished hunting the woman." Dar' says dourly. He waits ready, whilst Arthrax opens each door in turn. "It is more likely we will find the documents we need in a safe. or locked in a secret place. Keep you eyes peeled for such." He scans over some of the docs as he waits for Arthrax. Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

"Let's find the evidence and the partner in crime, who no doubt we can find somewhere here. Let's get on quickly here to look at the contents of the warehouse, but we should not forget, we must find the wrong doers." says Dar'erthan severely. Dar'erthan shouts to the fighters, "Leave that thing, and get those archers. Find a way up there, I will send Sarenrae's holy fire at the glob. Just as I send it to the archers there." with that the holy man, lifts his holy symbol and points to the nearest thug and calls out, "Let the holy fire burn those whose fight against Sarenrae's greatness." He moves forward to get the man just in range 30ft and a small ball of yellow and orange flame shoots towards the man's chest. moves to within 30ft of thug, or stays still if already with in range. I'm not sure where that take me due to elevation of the thugs.
Dar has 1 casting of burning hands, it would seem a good time to use it against this ooze, If someone can do a knowledge check to make sure fire will harm it, if not Dar will do it anyway, given the chance.

Dar hearing the sound of battle and the swift and sudden death sound of a body hitting the floor, turns to see through his blinking eyes Arthrax and Evenstar standing triumphant. Without the need to worry about the violent actions of an aggressor, Dar'erthan is able to spend time and concentrate on his healing skills as he attends the 2 thugs, giving them what first aid he can. Takes a 10 on heal checks for 10 + 7 = 17 to stabilize both men. "I think I have saved these two, they should provide useful information if we are lucky. At minimum will provide evidence." He stands and sees the destructive force of both the fighters, wrought on the enemy. "Congratulation on bringing a swift end to this one, check him over, we should find something to aid us. But remember there was both a guildmaster and mistress. Someone should check for magic, if it affected this man. All might not be as it seems, this whole set of crimes has been based on misdirection and illusion."

Linguistics 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 Following Evenstar's eagle eyes as she looks over the body, Dar takes the card and note after Dolph has finished. He scratches his forehead, as he frowns, "The note is somewhat faked.." You can all look at the linguistics spoiler Dar takes the evidence to the Lawkeeper Feldane, "Once more this is a set up, look see the note, if you just wipe away the dust sprinkled on, the ink underneath is fresh and only just been written, I doubt it is more than 2 hours old. If we can find a copy of Arhaneem Braeton's signature, we might have proof positive its a forgery. Do you know who he is and where he might be, so we can compare his signature. We can also find out who might want to set him up, who his enemies are." Dar'ethan muses. He calls over to his friends, "So what next?"
Male Human Cleric 1
"Fire is both dangerous and a help, as Sarenrae teaches. Indeed we are blessed in the cleansing power of fire, so think not on loosing your place, but that the fire saved you from the evils these guildmasters are doing. They may even be subverting the whole ethos of that once honourable guild. You may at some point Misforstatt become the guild's saviour, if the it is currently led by those two that were described to us." the cleric tries to cheer the alchemist with the religious meaning of fire. "And if not the same guild, then you might regain your place by the use of your fire in overcoming this evil guild of murderers."
Male Human Cleric 1
Dar'erthan doesn't join in the jollity of discovering the illusion, instead he has a look of disappointment on his face. Quietly he nods at Dolph's words, "We ave little to go on, other than the guild." His eyes look to the floor, his shoulders slump as he sighs. His whole frame seems limp and devoid of energy, deflated after the revelation.

Dar'ethan looks at Amara, his face showing signs of shock, "What do you mean? we have all but cleared your prize exhibit and with that your circus, but Jerizhana is too indisposed to speak with the Lawkeeper. By Sarenrae's fire, where is she that we can speak with her now!" His voice rising, his calm being tested to the limit. "My companions where not disposed to think of her innocence in the beginning, this does nothing to make them inclined to change their view."
Male Human Cleric 1
"Lawkeeper Feldane, what my friends say is true, none of the evidence points to the sphinx. There are questions which need to be answered. Ask yourself, Why would a powerful creature like the sphinx employ skulks to do her dirty work? How did she even know of the existence of a drug addled group of skulks, surely that would need detailed local knowledge? And why pretend to be the guildmaster and guildmistress? Why would such an intelligent and powerful creature, commit a murder in her own theatre? Then look at the evidence found as presented, none points to the sphinx. So who benefits from fingering the spinx and by implication the circus of such murders? Lawkeeper, are there any in town who would be at an advantage if the circus is disgraced or who would want to murder these victims and benefit from them and the disturbed theft." Dar'ethan paces back and forth deep in thought. He is clearly disturbed by the Sheriff's anger and accusations against the sphinx. Shaking his head from side to side he says slowly, "The only ones to benefit from the arrest and trial of the sphinx would be the murderers and mob justice, which is no justice at all." Rubbing his chin he continues, "Taking the sphinx into goal may appease the feelings of the mob, giving us more time to find the real killers. Although Lawkeeper, such would be your decision, and could possibly lead to the death of an innocent, if the mob go against the process of law." He continues to shake his head, "No..no...I dislike that the more I think of it...Lawkeeper, whatever you decide we will need your help to capture the criminals. But catch them we will!" he finishes with determination.

On the way over to the temple, Dar'erthan will mention if anyone wants any specific prayers (spells) they would want to buy in scroll form. ... prot evil, comprehend languages, obscuring mist etc.... "May the sun of the dawnflower light compliment the natural warmth of Ol' Dead Eye." says Dar'erthan touching his brow and bowing slightly. "In our travels, we have come across the slaughter of many creatures in a cavern not far from here. I do not have the wisdom and power to cleanse the evil from the massacre or the bodies. I would ask that to keep the natural balance of life and death, the temple send your holy men and women to cleanse the area. It is not for me that I ask, but the people of this town, for whom you tend as your flock."
Male Human Cleric 1
"Maybe that was going to be the payment all along, Evenstar. If so, we have found an evil that must be cleansed by the fire and wrath of Sarenrae." the cleric says hanging onto his wooden symbol of the Dawnflower. He spits on the ground, in anger at the suffering wrought on these creatures. "I must seek out the temple here, maybe there are holy men that can make sure these creatures find their way to Pharesma." he bows his head, but his hands still move about, as he trusts them into his pockets.

As Dar'erthan surveys the carnage, he speaks solemnly, "It would seem that the Guild master and mistress didn't want any links back to them. We must let the Sheriff know of this evil deed." Dar'erthan says a prayer over the bodies, "Any sign of anyone leaving the scene of this mass murder?" He shakes his head in sadness.

Dar makes sure the ropes bind the blue man. "One of the house guards and our town guard guide can take the prisoner to the Deputy Sheriff, whilst we head off and stake out the caverns. Give this note to the town guard." says Dar as he uses some of the house equipment to write.
The creature here confessed to being part of the party of skulks that raided the Locked Box, he is part of the Nisku tribe, if you know of them. He has been as helpful as possible, as he is in need of shiver and suffering withdrawal from the drug, so please be lenient with him. He has described the two humans that organised the crime and gave them a key to enter the Locked Box. "Are we ready to track these skulks back to their caverns? I am ready to go." Before they leave, Dar'erthan lets the widow know what they have found out and that one of the thieves is to be handed over to the town authorities. He also asks the house guards and the town guard, for directions to the Nisku caverns, if they know of them.

At the warriors outburst, Dar says quietly to Arthrax, "Without some help, he will suffer inconsolable pain. It is like a baby and mother's milk, they are weaned off the milk slowly. He too should be weaned off his addiction. The damage is done already, let the Sheriff deal with it." He speaks up, "Evenstar, Arthrax, once we are done here, I think we need to find and stakeout the caves and look over the bodies. This creature should be handed over to Sheriff Feldane, it provides proof that we need. Once he has answered all our questions to our satisfaction, we must tell her he has been helpful to our inquiries."
Male Human Cleric 1
Once the Arthrax and the rest have made a parcel of the capture creature, Dar'erthan speaks. "The game is up skinless one, if you are helpful, maybe we can ask the Lawkeeper Feldane for some mercy for you. Otherwise I shall leave you to discuss things over with Evenstar the Strong." He points towards the barbarian. "Rather than make this a discomfort for all of us, please answer our questions." the cleric's voice is soft and even, not threatening but resolute. "How did you gain entry into the vault? What are you doing here? What is it you were looking for? Who sent you? Where did you come from?" these and oher questions are asked over the period of time Dar'erthan considers it worthwhile to speak to the creature. Diplomacy 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
