Where are these from? I’ve never heard of any of them, and they sound slightly OP.

Sad....

Ah well, I still have the stats and the basics for the backstory, so I can always dust them off later....

Stats are done, still working on backstory.
Hereji.

I'm working on my character, Hereji, as mentioned, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to get him done today. Hopefully tomorrow.

Yay! Thanks for the pick! I'll get the alias up soon.

So....

I'm afraid I'm going to drop out of recruitment. I'm just having a tough time getting excited for my character, which I've found is really important in how engaged I get in a game. So, sorry, and best of luck to those remaining!

Still around, working on throwing up an alias for Ragath at the moment, to keep up with the little edits I'm noticing.

I'll second the call for looking at more than just the number of games someone is in; I'm in nine currently (with a few more recruitments active) and I'm one of the most regular posters in almost all of them, posting almost as soon as a new post would be appropriate.

I'm going to duck out of this game- it's just getting a bit complex, even for my tastes. I will be sticking around for the Ruins of Azlant game, though.

Great! I'll hopefully have my submission up this weekend.

Superior Shapeshifter, replacing Kitsune Magic.

How about for Kitsune? There's an alternate racial trait for them that allows me to get the Fox Shape feat at level 1 instead of having to wait until BAB +3.

I just like the complete and total 'you have no idea what you're dealing with' aspect of having a shapeshifter, with the blood of an outsider whose entire subtype revolves around deception and trickery, masquerading as a holy man.
If you're talking about this archetype we may be able to work something out. Being a kitsune your character would be a foreigner and his weird divine magic could deceive people. Nonetheless I think that archetype best ability isn't acquired until level 9 and we won't be getting there (are least according to my initial plan)

That's the one. Combine with Realistic Likeness for extra fun.

Then I'm definitely interested. I'm a Pathfinder newbie with a lot of D&D experience (especially 3.5). Been waiting to bust out my tiefling cleric of the trickery domain.

I was thinking about an aasimar cleric... so-long to that idea! Also, you stole my color me interested line :D - not that I care.

Looks like a great opportunity to play a vigilante (if the GM will allow it). Or a fighter of some flavor if GM doesn't allow vigilantes.
Well, if you can't play a vigilante in an urban campaign... every Paizo class is allowed, archetypes that don't depend on the Golarion setting too.

So... no Razmiran Priest? It could easily be reflavored as simply being a fake cleric, and I would get very few abilities from the archetype at the low levels we're dealing with.

This sounds quite interesting. I made up a kitsune razmiran priest a little while ago for an Absalom game that I wasn't picked for. He's about as tricksy as they come, though I'd need to drop him to 1st level.

Are Background Skills being used?

Backstory:

Risa Fiersan was born to two elite dragon riders, her father Velar on a Red, and her mother Galahai on a Silver. They were part of an ancient order of dragon protectors, dedicated to protecting a hidden draconic enclave. However, before her birth, the oldest dragon at the enclave- Avalikial, a great wyrm Gold- blessed her, causing her to be born… beyond the normal. While she seemed normal as a baby, her incredible intellect quickly distinguished her from among her peers. At the age of six, while other children her age were running around playing tag with wyrmlings, she was spending most of her time with old dragons learning her first cantrips. By the age of ten, she was already learning basic teleporting abilities, and made a life-pact with an ancient Sovereign to become Dragonbound, a champion of dragonkind, at the age of thirteen. The life-pact grants her with incredible magical power for someone her age, and in return she protects good dragons and hunts bad to protect mortals. Her primary duty was a protector of the sanctuary, testing those who sought entry and subduing those with malicious intent.
Then, something happened. She doesn't know what, or how, or why, but two months ago, she woke up in an inn halfway across the world, with a dragon egg in her backpack and a note saying "Not home. Not yet. Stay away. Keep it safe." in her handwriting. She had no memories of the previous year, and no idea why she left her home, or why she must not go back, but is currently staying on the move; continuing her role as Dragonbound wherever she can, and keeping her egg safe at all costs.

Appearance:
Risa appears mostly human (though perhaps with a touch of elf), but has piercing, sapphire-blue eyes that show she is something far more. Her legendary item is a ring gifted to her by Avalikial to protect her in her role as Dragonbound. It looks like a dragon, and sometimes changes position when unobserved.

Personality:
Risa is a quiet, gentle girl who prefers the company of dragons to that of mortals, and while physically weak, her mind is on par with that of her draconic allies. However, when fulfilling her role as Dragonbound, she operates with ruthless efficiency, rarely giving quarter to evil dragons, their allies, or any enemies of good dragonkind. She also defends mortals, but considers them less of a priority than draconic relatives, who are in turn less of a priority than true dragons.

I don't have an alias up (though I could put one up once I get home), as I just put my stats into a spoiler in-thread.

So, I realized I made a few mistakes on my character sheet (namely forgot to include a FCB and apply oath against undead). Do you want me to repost a fixed one?

Han shot first.
Anikin preferred to boast.

Learn from the best.

Okay, cool. Hopefully done with the background tomorrow, and I'll submit my dragon rider.

My current concept is a lifelong draconic ally, who has agreed to aid and protect good dragons in return for draconic powers (which manifest in her mythic abilities and pact wizard archetype).

Have fun!

Why yes, I'll make additional copies of my alchemist fires for 1 gp, saving 19 gold each and raise DC by my save DC.
I guess they call it inferior so you can't sell it, but it is better in everyway I can think of.

(Fixed the link)

Really, there's nothing stopping you in the spell text from selling your new alchemical items. But you're thinking too small. Homunculus Clay is an alchemical item that gives you a temporary homunculus companion- normally over 2,000 gp, have your sorcerer make infinite copies for free (Eschew Materials does away with material components worth 1 gp or less, so full pouch qualifies). Blightburn Paste, normally 4,000 gp and the most expensive alchemical item published to date, is now a cheap way to mess with teleportation and an absurdly good weapon for creatures without a CON score.

And the list goes on.

So casters aren't powerful at high-mythic levels?

All I can say is "Rocks fall, everyone dies."

So, do we have any more world information for backgrounds? My current idea is a child of two dragon riders/caretakers/raisers. Is that possible?

Hmmm....

So, not sure if I'll be able to fit this in, but I do like it.
As mentioned in the interest check, I think this would be a fun time to try a Wyrwood. Perhaps a wizard from Brevoy accidentally recreated the ancient experiment that began the race?

From a more class standpoint, it might be interesting if you allowed the Eldritch Archer prestige class to work with guns. However, I think that (if I get the time) I'd draw up an eldritch archer that uses guns, if I could get proficiency in firearms.

Could I be a Wyrwood? Not often you could play as a construct.

GM, will you allow for alterations to happen if we're chosen? There's still a few things I'm settling on for Ragath.

So... could I be a gun-toting Eldritch Archer? Because that just sounds awesome.

Do you allow Words of Power (still not sure what I'll make, just figuring out what I have to work with)?

If only there was a gun-related magus archetype. Proto-technomancer, anyone?

Backstory:

Ragath was born to a noble family in Varisia, and never quite fit in. While his celestial heritage didn't manifest until he was in his late teens, he had a strong sense of morality that often conflicted with his family's goals, a scheming Korvosan family. He often spent his days on the streets, getting to know the street children. He also disapproved of the endless devil summoning that happened within the walls, and joined with the Korvosan Guard as soon as he was old enough. Once there, he quickly showed his prodigious strength, and his exceptional natural charm, pioneering the Korvosan phrase of 'speak softly and carry a big stick.' He was still restless, though, and when his angelic heritage manifested, eyes, hair, and skin transforming overnight; he discovered a well of power within him. Drawing power from his oaths and respect of the law, he quickly became one of the most trusted; if not always the most skilled, members of the otherwise-corrupt watch. As he aged, Ragath became increasingly aware of this fact, and, upon hearing of the horrors of the Worldwound, set off in the dead of night, taking little with him, swearing to purge corruption from Golarion.

He slowly made his way through Nirmathas, traveling up through Molthune, largely without incident. However, when he was in Ustalav, just about to cross Lake Lias, he heard a cry for help. Charging into battle, Ragath found a group of bandits robbing a bookish man. Charging forward, the aasimar cut the bandit leader nearly in half, and routed the rest in seconds. The man he rescued was, of course, Petros Lorrimor, and Ragath traveled with him as the professor made his way to Clover's Crossing. Along the way, the two firmly enjoyed each other's company, and Ragath said that he would visit the professor in a year's time. One year later, as he was making his way to visit Professor Lorrimor, Ragath was greatly saddened to learn that his friend had passed away unexpectedly, and, as requested, came to attend his friend's funeral.

I left out the SLA, because at this point, I still haven't made up my mind yet. Take a chance that I'll get something useless? Or be happy with what amounts to a 1/day +2 boost to Str or Dex, with other versatility?

Advanced Bonus Progression.

Okay, I'll think of something, then. Hmmm... What do I want to try....

Okay... So, I could be 13?
Hmmm... Could I play around with the size? Blood of Angels says that Aasimars could be small as well as medium, and I like the idea of a seemingly innocent child, just sort of in awe and wonder of both the things she can do and the dragons around her.

Also, how are we doing HP? Max first, then half+1 afterwards?

I like ABP, and am definitely interested in this campaign. I have an idea for a wide-eyed adventurer with budding magical powers, as amazed by the wide world as their own abilities.

Would you allow young characters? It would fit my concept fairly well, but it's by no means a requirement.

Ehh... how long will recruitment be open for?

I have also been accepted to the other game, so I am withdrawing from this one. Best of luck to the others!

Yeah, that's basically it. I would finish one, take on a new one. Just occasionally using a different one.

Would you allow for young characters? I have a great idea for a young boy that already commands great power, just in awe of the world and the great beasts that live in it.

Okay. Most of the oaths are pretty focused, and already have a method to prevent overlap. For instance, I can't have both Oath against Undead and Oath of Vengeance at the same time (they both replace the same aura). It would be much more of a "there is a great evil that must be smote! I need to kill it!" (Taking oath of vengeance), then once that's done, "A lich is threatening the peace! I must guide it to its final rest!" (Then going to Oath against Undead). It would be less of a 'swiss army knife' and more of a 'my abilities will be useful for this current story arc,' especially as it wouldn't be a multiple times per day (Oh, a ghost! Oath against Undead! An abberation? Oath against corruption! You must die! Oath of Vengeance!), which could absolutely be a problem. Perhaps a minimum of 1/week or 1/month spent on each oath? Then my abilities wouldn't suddenly be useless if we have to go kill evil dragons for a while, leaving all my undead powers unused.

Hmmm... GM, there's a few things about Paladin oaths that seem... odd.

Oaths wrote:
When a paladin completes the sacred promise, the oath is fulfilled, and she may abandon the oath if she so chooses; she may then select another oath or become a standard paladin or a different paladin archetype

So, I'd like to have a character built around this, if possible; a paladin who draws just as much power from his own conviction as he does his angelic ancestry, manifested in the form of his Oaths. Mechanically, this would mean that I would swear to 'eliminate the undead menace on this town,' and take the Oath against Undead until that goal is met, then revert to a standard paladin until I swore to 'bring to justice this man's murderer,' taking the Oath of Vengeance for a time, and so on. Would you allow that concept?

(Also, amusingly, the wording of the above suggests that I could retrain my archetype, for free, at any time by making a sacred oath that would be easy to fulfill, then completing it and changing my archetype)

Then, just for clarification (I've seen a few different opinions voiced on this):

Oath Spells wrote:

A paladin's oath influences what magic she can perform. An oathbound paladin adds one spell to the paladin spell list at each paladin spell level she can cast (including spell levels for which she would only gain spells per day if her Charisma were high enough to grant bonus spells of that level). Her oath determines what spell is added to the spell list. If the paladin has multiple oaths, the spells from each oath are added to her spell list.

If an oathbound paladin has more than one oath, she may prepare any one of her oath's spells in that slot (similar to a cleric choosing one of her two domain spells to prepare in a domain spell slot).

The problem, of course, is that an Oathbound Paladin doesn't have a domain slot. Does taking an oath give me an extra spell for each level? Does it just mean I add that spell to the paladin spell list (even though some spells already are, making it redundant), which can then be prepared normally at a later time?

I suppose I should roll, shouldn't I? I should.

4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 4, 4, 3) - 2 = 11
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 4) - 2 = 10
4d6 - 4 ⇒ (4, 5, 5, 5) - 4 = 15
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 6) - 1 = 17
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 4) - 2 = 13

24 points? I could make it work, but I think I'll go with the point buy.

Well that's fun. One aasimar... something coming right up.

Fair enough. I guess I should have figured it was a joke.

Ah, decisions... what kind of paladin do I want? Oath against Undead? Vengeance? What archetype? Personality? Hmmm...

Because of that, I'm not sure if I want to risk rolling (yet). That being said, if the SLA doesn't really matter too much for the character, I may yet.

I don't think drow nobles are featured- that's reserved for the regular drow.

Do you allow the variant Aasimar heritages from Blood of Angels?
Or what about the 'swap SLA' tables from the same?

Hmmm... I've been wanting to try a paladin... maybe....

Dot, for now. Not sure if I'll have time to spin up a new character.

4d6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 3, 1, 3) - 1 = 12
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 5) - 1 = 16
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 6) - 2 = 14
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (6, 2, 5, 3) - 2 = 14
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (6, 3, 6, 1) - 1 = 15
4d6 - 3 ⇒ (3, 4, 5, 3) - 3 = 12

Well, okay then. That's the most paladin array I've seen in quite a while

So.... the tables, can I pick and choose?

Okay, but how about planners? Would we just present a plan and say that one of our high-Int allies came up with it?

It's that time again...
