Looking at the exotic caged animals currently slowly settling down as the fires were contained, it would seem that the folks whom had taken the ship were storing what appeared to be a smuggling operation of rare animals. A lot of those parots alone would go for 8 to 10 gold in the markets.

She also added a bandolier with empty vials and... a pouch of coins, 50 gold in total.
Your search through the infanite hallways for a vending machine didnt take long, though you did pass by three seperate water fountains. The machine looked old and delapitated almost like on old machine from the 60's or early 70's. The coin slot was too slim for any of the gold coins you were given and seemed too large for your earthly money...
"That sounds... surprisingly healthy." The growling feminine voice began with a slight confused snarl. "But it is a verifyiable holy cereal. I knew i choose well! A smooth bore double barreled breech loaded gun appears on the desk with a long tube atop it acting as a sight. beside it is a miniture version of a toaster where as a move equivelent action you can "pop" out ammo for your rifle. It has a range of 80 and is a ranged touch attack out to that level. it does 1d10 points of damage per barrel. You do not have to fire both barrels. If you do fire bother barrels you use one attack roll a hit means a hit for both. If you have a critical threat. you get to confirm for each barrel it is a x3 crit. Not only can you make ammo from your toaster you can make breakfast!

damn that was a pretty good roll! You could see the easily a dozen armed folk start to appear from a slight dip in the land to the east and just as they appeared to be advancing decently spread out you all heard the creaking of the light catapult on the southern corner whir into action. fort save: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20
The leader screams something and they start to charge forward no doubt wanting to close the distance as much as possible before more rock comes flying their way. Their appear to be three groups of them now. wisdom check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Party is up, then the enemies
With the initial battle with the bandits over, Madam Fortuna makes her way into the fort. You can all see the excited light in Oleg's go out and he glowers at the traveling merchant. "Come for your order then Madam?" He managed to sputter out. There was laughter from Svetlana, Oleg's wife and she rushed over taking the older woman's hand. "I'll set some tea, don't mind him, he's just all overexcited with the bandit's and all." She paused and looked at you folks. "You are welcome to join of course." She added before hurrying to the large building they used as a house. Is there anything you folk would like to do?

Long story short, a death of a close friend and my mother being in the hospital for COVID related s&~! had me stressed out and an emotional mess. Not out of the storm yet, but at least seem to have passed through the worst of it.

There are 5 horses left outside the gate, 3 of them are fine animals 2 of them are on their last legs from the looks of things. Oleg handed you the charter back and merely nodded. "Me and the missus are in your debt. Ive some gold hidden and left over from an earlier trader its yours for your aid. I wish I had more so that i could entice you to stay. Im sure those bastards will be back in a few days with a bigger force now." He finished glumly. As he was about to let out one long sigh the door to the home there opened and out stepped a beautiful slightly younger woman in a well made but common enough dress. "Oleg, Really? Listen you folks are welcome to stay here free of charge as long as you would like. Use the bunkhouse. We are very greatful for what you've done. Now get cleaned up, I will have supper done in a bit." She smiled sweetly at you all and hurried back inside.
The fort's repairs are coming along nicely. The gate isnt fully repaired but it is sound enough to withhold some battering from outside forces. You repair two of the catapults to some working order...They may not have the range of a fully repaired siege weapon, and you get the start of a deep well. On the third day while out gathering a basketfull of iceberries you notice Iolandra, what appears to be a dozen or so bandits making their way torwards the fort. If you hurry you should be able to get there about ten minutes before they arrive.
Yurishi Yumiko you just miss the ink on the leg but feel as is something is moving by you, you turn to follow and watch as Sajurai Katsumi draws her steel and makes a deft cut across the path of the invisible man... withing miliseconds he becomes visible again as blood splatters everywhere. He is probably dead before he hits the ground. The sound of heavy horses riding torwards the fort become apparent in the air and those of you one the wall can see what appears to be a dozen soldiers in house Medvyed army come riding up. You can see Seraphina try to hurry torwards the wagons of the caravan you all traveled with but it was too late, they noticed her. Oleg clapped his hands and cheered again. "Boy sharp eyes on your group, thats good, might make the bastards a bit warier when they try again." He began laughing though it suddenly cut off when he realized that well, they would indeed come back probably with a bigger force. "Ah hell." He muttered before shaking his head. He motioned for you folks to close around. Interupting that almost perfectly was a knight on horseback with Miss Seraphina in tow. "Well friends, it would seem my father thinks otherwise of my excursion out this way. I must deal with that...again. I do hope to be back. Remember the charter, we are to explore these lands and deal with the bandit issue. Here Angus, hold on to this." She began pulling out the charter and handing it to you Angus. The helmed knight cleared his throat and she rolled her eyes and sighed. "Fine... fine we will be going now." As he turned away she glanced back at the group. "I'll be back." She mouthed as they rode off.
As the others get to work on what repairs can be done to the old fort, you Iolandra do your best to get to know your hostess better. Unfortunately getting a chance to speak with her for any length of time proves difficult. She almost has seems to have 'something' going on that demands her attention. diplomancy Iolandra: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
That being said you spot enough about her that a hunch is starting to form in your mind. Iolandra: You sure she is not a full human, in fact you have a hunch that she either is a medusa that has been blinded removing the threat of her ability to turn folk into stone with a gaze.... or that she has medusa blood in her somehow. Its why she has the arm wraps to had the scaly nature of her skin, and always wears the hood to hide her snake filled hair.
It will require more than just one engineering check, but that was a good roll so.... Cole you can easily see how the bandits did their best to damage the forts gate doors. You are pretty sure with a couple of hours time and the appropriate wood planks you could get it functional... but a few metal hinges of a larger nature will be required to 100% fix it. You are sure they could be ordered from a caravan or something relatively cheaply. You identify that of the four old catapults on the wall, 2 are salvagable with the parts and peices of the other four, but again a couple of metal rivets and peices would be needed to make them 100% operational... finally you can see several old and rotting peices of the outer wall that could be replaced... oh and you think the well would really need to be explanded perhaps inlaid with clay bricks or stones to be more efficient. You figure replacing the parts of the wall that are older and rotting would keep things less flamable, also the thatch roofing on the stables and guest house are terribly succeptible for fires, but thats weeks of work of making (or purchasing) clay shingles. Doing any of those things will increasse your party's reknown in the area by 2 and bump Svetlana's freindship score from neutral to friendly.
