Closing Weekend!
Okay GMs, this is the closing weekend for Outpost. Most of you have already wrapped up your games and reported by now (great job, by the way), but we still have about 30 games still going. Please wrap these up as soon as possible so your players can get ready for the next adventure.

Even if it looks like you won’t finish the gameplay by May 15 we are asking you to [u]go ahead and report your games[/u] by the deadline so that we can finish up the admin stuff and close out the convention before Paizocon. Please help us by getting these last few games reported. Thanks again for stepping up to run games. It is greatly appreciated!

I see there are door prizes (drawn randomly behind the scenes) and also boons rolled by pfs1 players. Are there multiple boons to roll between or just one option?

There are two options for the pfs1 GM's to chose from, but didn't see anything about the player 'roll a 20 and get a boon' boon.

All PF1 players have a 10% chance to win a boon. There are 3 boons to choose from.

GMs, with only 2 weeks left in Outpost VI play, you should be winding down your tables (assuming you aren’t already finished) and getting them ready for reporting by our HQ crew. Hopefully you are in a good place to finish by the May 15 end date, but if not, please go ahead and mark your tables Ready for Reporting by May 15 so we can wrap up the convention in time for Paizocon. Then, finish your games as soon as you can. If you need assistance in pushing your game to the finish, please contact your PBP lodge Venture Officers.

I wonder if you fine folks could give me some advice. The next SFS scenario I'm looking to play or run is # 2-14, Data Purge. It's a Tier 9-12, and there's only three of us in my local group that have characters of that level. Because the Iconics only go up to Level 8, we don't have a way to fill the fourth spot (we have some other players, but they're pretty new and only have PCs in the level 1 or 2 range.) I don't suppose it'd be possible to have the players without high enough level characters play Level 8 pre-gens for no credit just to round out the table (assuming everyone with PCs in the range knew and agreed it'd be a touch harder than it should be)?

I would normally just run the game here via PBP, but I've noticed some difficulty getting tables to fire in the past year, and the inability to run pre-gens would exacerbate the problem.

Unfortunately, as Redelia mentioned above, the rules don't allow for bringing in out of level characters. The section in the guide about Legal Table size shows how to deal with only 3 players at a 9+ scenario.

Adventures with a minimum level of 9 or higher: can be run with only 3 players, but only if all players at the table agree. While we expect this “hard mode” playthrough experience to be satisfying, we want to caution you that, as the adventures are designed for a minimum of four players, they will be more difficult than normal.

In the future, there may be pregens at the higher levels, but currently there is no way to allow someone to "sit in" on a table with a minimum level of 9+.

That said, if you play/run in PBP or VTT you'll open the field up to a much broader pool of players than just your local group, and I doubt you'll have much trouble finding enough to fill the table.

Are there any reporting links for Outpost? The PFS2e Bounty I was running is now finished. Also are there any bon or voucher rolls for the players?

I'm also going to run Among the Gods (PFS1e) under my own event code, not Outpost, so it may as well be removed from the schedule.

I also had a request to run PFS2e Return to the Grave which will be starting tomorrow. Do you think it could be finished before Outpost ends? If not, I'll run it under my own code.

OK. RPG Chronicles for reporting.

I'm doing my Chronicles manually since I'm not trusting RPG Chronicles. Besides, I do have an account but it's not showing the data for that game. It also says I have 15 games listed but is only showing 12. This makes me leery of using it.

The reporting information was all in the Outpost VI GM Bulletin (Event 2710406) email sent on 20FEB2023. If you can't find that email, DM me and I'll pass along the content for you.

For PF2 and SF there are no boons (you get bonus AcP). PF1 tables should roll for boons (20 wins). Paizo has graciously provided gift vouchers that will be randomly drawn from the pool of all players and GMs.

Return to the Grave can easily be finished in 5 weeks if you are diligent.

One Week To Go!
GMs, with one week to go before Outpost VI officially starts, you should be collecting player information, finalizing your tables, and making sure you have everything ready to go. While you cannot use any game text from the scenario yet, feel free to have your players start introductions and Role Play in the gameplay channels.

Did my Starfinder table get canceled?

Which one? I still see a SFS 1-3 table with 3 players signed up.

Do we know when scenario drops will be for newly released ones (this week)? I did make the support deadline and want to start getting the table setup.

We are still waiting on support drops for the February releases. Hopefully soon.

As a lifelong RPG player, having started with the Basic D&D box set in '82 and having played every edition of D&D and not a few non-D&D RPGs since, who received P2e for Christmas; I sit here reading this thread a month after its posting and wondering "so where is all the new-player, OGL-refugee welcoming effort?

I mean - I have my PFS number, but the closest recorded lodge is over 2 hours away and hasn't responded to my attempted contacts. It makes me wonder if they simply went dark during the pandemic and are now defunct. The few organized play games I find for Feb/March are states away.

It seems that it should be as simple as "Thank you for your order, newb. Now go _here_ to create a Pathfinder Society identity, then go _here_ to locate the closest local lodge. And look _here_ to find the next Organized Play event near you. Welcome to the Society, recruit. See you ate the table."

Welcome to the Pathfinder side of the pond, newb! DM me with your location and I'll be happy to help you find some Society games in your local area. Also, if you are interested in playing online games, whether live games via Virtual Table top (VTT) or via Play by Post (PBP) we have a thriving community both here on the paizo servers and on a number of Discord lodges. Again, I'd be happy to help point you in the right direction if you are interested.

I apologize that it isn't as easy to hook new Society players up with local lodges as it should be. That has been a long-standing issue that we are starting (I hope) to come to grips with. We have to strike a balance between accessibility and privacy issues and so far have managed to come down hard on the privacy side of things. I would love to hear some suggestions, if you have them, on how to help our volunteers be more accessible for new players.

In the meantime, please DM me here on the forums, or via discord (bigrin42#2231) and 'll be happy to do what I can to get you connected in Real Life and/or online.

P.S. I know it's easy for those of us that have been involved in Society for a long time to say how open and friendly we are, and then leave newcomers in the lurch when it comes to details. General Seating now open!

General seating is now open for all players. While there is no limit to the number of games you can sign up for, we do ask that everyone do their best not to overcommit. We also would ask that you not sign up for tons of games at the very beginning, to give everyone the chance to find a seat at a table. Sign up for a few, then wait a day or two to give others the chance.

Remember that the 1 game per character rule still applies to PBP/D games, so no signing up to play in multiple games with the same character.

Early signups for FCFS and Specials tables are now open for our GMs (and ONLY our GMs) as a special thank you for running games for Outpost VI. Please remember to limit your signups to 1 special table and 1 regular table for now. When general seating opens on the 10th, you can sign up for more tables.

Note: Anyone that jumped the gun and signed up for a table seat before this announcement will need to sign up again as all fields were cleared.

With today's blog announcement that the SFS 1-99 special is now replayable twice (once in each tier), we expect the turnout for players to be higher than previously planned. That means we are looking for some additional Backup GMs (who may turn into Primary GMs very quickly).

I would like to GM Ruins of Bonekeep: Level 1, however, I can't find it in the General GM Registration scenario list on the registration form.

What should I do?

Query: I signed up for two Dark Archive case files as a GM, but I was planning on running them back-to-back with the same characters, allowing them to 'level' in between. Is there a way that I can indicate this, or am I stuck with two simultaneous tables?

I would recruit the first one, then add the second one as a "GM Choice" recruitment. Once the game spreadsheet opens for editing, you can put in the recruitment notes that you are continuing with the same group

I didn't get the email either, but I also registered late. If you are using RPG ConAssist, can I just mark my game as ready for reporting for RPG Chronicles like I did at GenCon? Do I need to fill out the form itself?

Unfortunately, RPGConAssist does not integrate directly with RPGChronicles (your Gencon event dashboard). You will need to go to the RPGConAssist site for reporting. Please make sure that you click on the link for the right game system.

However, if you are using RPGChronicles for signups and such, you can copy/paste the "player info block" from the 3rd page (Chronicles nad Reporting) into the "Cut and Paste Scratch Area" in RPGConAssist to make transferring the data a bit easier

Hi, I screwed up when reporting my Gameday Session; the data I entered was correct but I thought that everyone had rolled for a boon and overlooked one that hadn’t. And naturally, they rolled a 19 and won a boon. I tried sending an email asking this (to the email address listed in my confirmation email) but haven’t heard back. How do I go about correcting this?

I'm currently in the last stage of running The Skinsaw Murders sanctioned content for PF1e. While looking at the reporting form in advance, I don't see it on the list. How can I report it?

Isn't there a spreadsheet that shows the signups like there is for the specials? I'm trying to track down which ones I signed up for and I could have sworn I used a spreadsheet sign up to do so, but all I can find is the list at https://pbpgameday.com/.

This was a significant hurdle for me playing on Discord - I used a workaround where I changed my name for the entire server. It was fine as long as (a) I only played in one PbD game per server, and (b) didn't mind all my other posts suddenly switching names.

(A lot of Gameday games are on Discord - I had already plotted out how to avoid more than one game per server, but if I don't need to, it opens up my schedule possibilities.)

waterysoup - HERE is a link to the PBD Player's Handbook that I created for the Roll for Combat discord. There is a section on pages 5-6 that discuss how to use tupperbot. The only difference between discord servers would be the channel(s) that they would like you to use to set up your tuppers. Also, feel free to reach out on discord, I am always happy to chat.

In my opinion specials are much more fun via PbP because you can actually follow some of the story. Every special I've played in person (at conventions) was - for me - a pretty boring series of seemingly arbitrary combats and skill checks with no real idea of what was going on. In person, they usually feel super rushed and the noise level makes it nearly impossible to hear the GM or enjoy the social space of the table.

Lest you think you are alone, that is my feeling on in-person specials as well. I have a hard enough time hearing my GM at a normal table, but in the chaos of a special, I might as well have just been rolling dice for fun. But some people thrive in that kind of environment. I'm just glad there are PbP/VTT alternatives available.

No, those are Venture Officer positions. They involve real responsibilities, such as being responsible for managing a Lodge. You apply for open positions, and are accepted by the existing cadre.
