Corvus immediately tags along with Angelo. Her face looks troubled and before they've gone too far, she confides in him. "This all feels a bit random and disjointed to me. I hoped my god had a plan for me, a path for me to follow. I feel lost and wonder if she's found me wanting.". She immediately blushes and coughs, her eyes not leaving the ends of her feet as she walks alongside her companion.

Corvus lights the fire at the foot of the totem and in a clear and soft tone says, "Let this fire be a physical manifestation of the goddess of the sun, redemption, honesty and healing. You are the Healing Flame, and the Everlight. You teach us temperance and patience in all things but there are those who have no interest in redemption and these deserve nothing but swift justice. Please be our guiding light into the darkest hearts and lands." Her voice quavers slightly as she finishes the final sentence.

Corvus stops attacking the totem, her moves slowing gracefully until she comes to a complete stop. Turnings Faruq, she says, " Nothing magical. I tend to focus on living things not lumps of wood." With that she shrugs and looks around for flammable items.

In the absence of anything more practical, Corvus will now start to hack at the totem Corvus sees the Druid drop to the floor and now turns her attention fully on the totem. In a trance like state, she swings and whirls her blade, looking to deal the maximum damage to the totem. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 61d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

In that case... Corvus closes on the Druid, holy prayers on her lips. Her swordwork is mesmerising, as she spins and swirls before unleashing an attack. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 241d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 EDIT Rolling for Critial Threat 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 71d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Corvus targets the white girallon with Smite Evil Corvus moves towards the white girallon, grasping her holy symbol in her left hand and audibly reciting a verse from 'The Birth of Light and Truth.' There is a burning passion in her eyes and her focus is absolute.

Before I do anything next round, I want to make sure what's possible. In relation to the Totem, I need to know if I can Smite Evil? I presume the Totem would have to 'be' evil as opposed to an enchanted object. If so, I presume that destroying it will equate to it dying? And finally, would the deflection bonus count against its effects?

I will presume than Angelo swaps places with Corvus, enabling her to enter the attack Corvus focuses on the closest adversary. Her movement starts as rhythmic steps but soons turns into an elaborate dance. Except that she holds a scimitar that creates a glow of light, so fast is it moving. Her movement is entrancing and at once, she is on the closest attacker, her blade now singing as it moves. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 161d6 ⇒ 5

There have been some interesting posts of late. To clarify a few points... 1. Yoshiyaru asked for a warrior to stay back and defend the archers. Corvus volunteered and was accepted. That is not the same as not wishing to participate. Corvus is ready to step in as soon as something comes close. Or she can switch places with another character as Angelo suggests. 2. It is not that Corvus doesn't want to get involved. She won't draw first blood without provocation - and so won't take an attack of opportunity. Nor will she simply wade in to fight if the opponent is not being hostile - and that includes animals. That's what Paladins do, "they adhere to ironclad laws of morality and discipline.". I fact, if I role-play outside of my stated moral code, the GM will ensure Corvus loses all paladin spells and class features. 3. If you think that a role-played paladin won't work in this scenario, then I can choose a different character or you can get a different PC. It's up to you guys.

Corvus smiled a satisfied smile. "This is almost too easy. Poulain, the ignorant creature I refer to is you. You are the one I have been sent to change or smite. I see it now." Corvus seems serene now, her previous agitation gone. Instead a rather annoying smug and self-satisfied look plays across her beautiful face.

Corvus glares at Poulain. "Do not test my patience. My code is clear...I will redeem the ignorant with my words and my actions. If they will not turn toward the light, I will redeem them by the sword. Even one as ignorant as you cannot help but understand the implication. If you have nothing civil to say to me, I bid you say nothing."

"I for one would appreciate knowing more about what we are up against. Are these creatures for turning from their chosen path? Evil must be opposed, but all options should be explored." She then turns to Yoshiyaru. "And of course, any information about Angazhani's whereabouts would be appreciated.

Taking Angelo at his word, Corvus starts to give each of the vessels a check for activity - remaining on the riverbank at all times. As Corvus is not in any immediate danger, I plan to Take 10. She's not looking for anything hidden - rather she's checking for any ongoing 'mischief.' "Angelo, salvage is something we can discuss when those rescued are spoken to. For the moment, everything remains in the boats." She flourishes her rapier, performing one of the forms of the dervish dance to punctuate her words.

Taking no notice of Angelo initially, Corvus falls into step alongside Poulain. Her face does not show any trace of emotion and her voice is calm but melodic. ”I am obliged to show patience in all things and that must extend to you. I am also bound to deliver swift justice to ensure my foes do not suffer any longer than necessary. There is no pride for my parents in that – simply the knowledge that I do my god’s work." "I must confess that I find your lack of faith troubling. To respond to violence with swift metal is part of my code. To initiate combat before other paths are considered is wrong. Over time I expect to show you the error in your ways." She then turns to Angelo. "What now?"
