So I have been theorycrafting a build combining Drunken Master, Monk of the Four Winds and some other stuff to get a lot of attacks per round.

Unfortunately the Slow Time ability of the Monk of the Four Winds is quite limiting:

Monk of The Four Winds wrote:
At 12th level, a monk of the four winds can use his ki to slow time or quicken his movements, depending on the observer. As a swift action, the monk can expend 6 ki points to gain three standard actions during his turn instead of just one. The monk can use these actions to do the following: take a melee attack action, use a skill, use an extraordinary ability, or take a move action. The monk cannot use these actions to cast spells or use spell-like abilities, and cannot combine them to take full-attack actions. Any move actions the monk makes this turn do not provoke attacks of opportunity.

For the build to work I need to somehow be able to use the standard actions of slow time to ready an action (to Rhino Charge). The only way I've found so far is the Constable Cavalier's 11th level ability but the build only has room for 3 levels of dips. So my question is if there is a way to do this without spending more than 3 levels?

Also, the build would work very well with abundant step but unfortunately trades it away and qinggong can't get abilities traded away by archetypes.
The Student of Perfection prestige class seems to work but needs a Lawful alignment and the build depends on the Divine Fighting Technique of Cayden Cailaen which forces us onto a neutral good alignment on a monk (by using the Enlightened Warrior trait and a one level dip in inquisitor or cleric or warpriest). So is there a way to either
1. Be a divine caster of Cayden Cailaen while staying lawful (i.e. two steps away) or
2. Get abundant step on a Neutral Good Monk of The Four Winds?

So due to this FAQ a qinggong monk which has replaced abundant step (or another monk ability) due to an archetype can't retake it as a ki power.

But can a chained monk with the Student of Perfection prestige class (outside of PFS of course) choose a monk ability they replaced with an archetype as a ki power?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Trying to revive the old thread.

There are ways to break pathfinder which no gm likes, like the infinite wish loop. But the real fun ones are the ones that combine options from many different places to get something interesting.

As an example:
1. Be synthesist.
2. Take the shadow form evolution which gives you constant concealment in exchange for halving your damage.
3. Take the shadow blend evolution which raises this to total concealment in everything other than bright light.
4. Be Changeling and take the Mist Child alternate racial trait to raise miss chances for concealment by 5%.
5. Take the Surface Stranger trait to raise miss chances from concealment by 10%
6. Cast Eclipsed light every 15 years so that you are never in bright light.

Congratulations, you now have constant 65% miss chance. And this is not counting mirror image or blink.

Alternatively, for 6., if you gm allows you to buy metamagicked scrolls or even metamagicked spellcasting services just get eclipsed continual flame cast on a rock or hat or two.

What is your favorite exploit? Alternatively, which exploit do you think is really interesting?

So I'm searching for ways to get my animal companion's intelligence as high as possible.

So far I've found:

  • Courtly hunter, which sets the animal companion to familiar intelligence
  • The eye for talent(human) or caretaker(halfling) alternate racial traits which increase intelligence by +1
  • The normal ability score increases from levels
  • The Precocious Companion which increases int by 2 at 4th or 7th level
  • There is also the mount feature from paladin and such but that is worse than courtly hunter and doesn't stack with it.

Any other ways (not counting magic items) to increase its int?

So the crossbow mastery feat:

Crossbow Mastery wrote:
The time required for you to reload any type of crossbow is reduced to a free action, regardless of the type of crossbow used.

Reduces the loading time of a crossbow to a free action and the inexplicable reload deed of the bolt ace:

Inexplicable Reload wrote:
At 11th level, loading a crossbow becomes unthinking and automatic for a bolt ace. As long as she has at least 1 grit point, she always starts each round of combat (even a surprise round) with her crossbow loaded. Also the amount of time needed to reload a crossbow decreases by one step: a standard action becomes a move action, a move action becomes a swift action, a swift action becomes a free action, and a free action becomes not an action.

Makes it not an action.

So my question is this: Can I now reload while unconcious?

Do improvised weapons count as weapons?

Specifically can you use an improvised weapon for the Trappings of the Warrior occultist panoply?

Preferred spell wrote:
Choose one spell which you have the ability to cast. You can cast that spell spontaneously by sacrificing a prepared spell or spell slot of equal or higher level. You can apply any metamagic feats you possess to this spell when you cast it. This increases the minimum level of the prepared spell or spell slot you must sacrifice in order to cast it but does not affect the casting time.

Does this feat allow an arcanist to sacrifice prepared spells to effectively get more spells per day?
