Yeah, when I played through this I crit a roll on the weapon area and found a +1 Striking Shortsword. Really nice. Helped in the battles quite a bit.

Sadly, it still sits on the chronicle waiting for me to level up to level 4 where I can maybe afford it.

I'm leaning towards calling it a good run. You are all great and I would play with any and all of you again. When we all have time and energy to put our full attention into it.

I'm OK with either way. I have other characters and games that I am playing - possibly even too many as well. I can handle shelving Bee for a while. But if there are still several people here wanting to play, I am good to keep going too.

Bee tries out one of the new recipes that he learned from his competition earlier. He wasn't sure how well it would do being cooked over a campfire, but at least a few of the other competitors and many of the spectators like it well enough.

"Hey," Bee shouts, trying to get the attention of the bear while running towards it. "You want to grab a Gnome - try grabbing me. If you can."

Bee knows that the bear probably can't understand him, but that isn't much of a concern. More of a concern to Bee is the long claw tipped arms that the bear has. He brings his sword up to defend as he approaches, then tries to drive the sword into the weakened bear.

Immobilized just means that you can't leave your current space. It doesn't mean that you are completely unable to move.

Grabbed applies Off-Guard (aka Flat-Footed) and Immobilized. It also gives you a flat check to possibly lose manipulate actions like drawing a weapon or casting a spell with Somatic components (CRB) or a spell with the Manipulate trait (PC1). As far as I can tell, Strike and casting an Impulse doesn't have the Manipulate trait, though I may be wrong on that.

Escape is also available and you can choose between your unarmed attack bonus, your athletics bonus, or your acrobatics bonus. It does have the Attack trait, so Multiple Attack Penalty applies just like it does with Strike actions.

Bee worries a bit about Ami and her future prospects, but the best he can do for her is to take the bear down as quickly as possible. Seeing that he still has a clear shot, he fires twice.

Shortbow Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Shortbow Damage (p): 1d6 ⇒ 1

Shortbow Attack, MAP1: 1d20 + 9 - 5 ⇒ (10) + 9 - 5 = 14

Then he chucks the bow to the side. "That thing is pretty useless, isn't it?" He draws his short sword again and gets ready to charge in to close range once again.

Bee hurries along the frozen lake, not wanting to be the last one to get to the bear. However, he also doesn't want to approach too closely. He saw how fast it can hit and how long of a reach it has.

Instead he fires an arrow from a safer distance.

It has been a bit of a disaster of a couple of days for me.

I got horribly sick with some sort of flu - I'm getting over it now, but it still isn't great.

A tire blew out on the truck that my oldest was taking to work. He had to drive on the rim for a bit to get it somewhere safe, and then I had to drive it on the rim for another shorter bit to get it to the tire dealership because I couldn't get the wheel off. Fortunately the rim survived the ordeal and didn't need replaced.

The electricity on the entire lower floor of my house shorted out and we are without power for most things for a while. Including all of our computers. I had to run ethernet cable up to the upper floor and plug the router in up there so that we would have wifi and can do things on my phone. Such as call electricians. This morning I finally broke down and stole the two extension cords that we are using for keeping our two deep freezers running and used them to run my computer long enough to pull up my password manager and get access to my paizo account and some other such things. Because it may still be a few days before I can get anyone over here to look at what went wrong.

Bee spends a bit of time chatting with the spectators, officials, and some of the friendlier of their competitors. "So what types of dangers are there along the trail? Besides the weather, of course. Wild animals? Territorial beasts? ravines or other terrain?"
