Till then....

This is the character. Click the alias, some minor adjustment is needed.

For your campaign info background

Spoiler:
While some paladins wage mighty wars and fight demons, a rare few are called by Abadar to spread the seeds of civilization and to tame the wild lands and even to redeem monstrous humanoids, this is Constantine's calling to bring law and good to where it is lacking.....he finds himself in a small town and finds a man in a desperate situation. Looking over everything he agrees to help guard the caravan. More specifically the person who have purchased the goods and services...

Sure if I happened upon a goblin (family) being attacked (harrassed) for no good reason I would have taken up for him (them) even if the attackers were human....

or torturing a goblin for sport or taking him into slavery....

Or blaming the goblin to cover a crime (murder) ect....

DM

Spoiler:
Do we have to have the character fully done before you can consider us? Also do you mind the additional traits feat?

This is my character alias, I will flesh out the character idea very soon.

This guy is a redeemer archetype paladin if your goblin is trying to do right, they could know each other.....

Maybe...will have to adjust according to the guidelines posted.

Male Half-orc

Or woman....

Male Half-orc

"Indeed I was well aware of the shell game, but what was I selected to do? Which ship will I be on, who will be with me, and whose orders will I be accepting?"

Male Half-orc

Constantine takes in the gathering place and wonders about the reasoning for the secrecy.

"I am almost certain the best way to know what is going on is for those who know to explain it from start to finish to those of us who do not know."

Constantine recalls the trial of silence that many cultures use to let the intruder or stranger and the silence force the one speaking to condemn him or herself....it was part of his inquisitor training among other things....

He looks around to see if bowls of fruit are on the table, he then takes a couple of apples and sits down to listen.......

Male Half-orc

An interesting crunch, I don't have any input for that aspect of your character.

I like the concept, but I do not get a feel for her as a character, things like attitudes, vaules, etc....

From the standpoint of my PC I think he would try to redeem her and try at times to convince her of the benefits of team-work, keeping her wits/anger in check, etc.

How is she getting introduced to us? That might make some major differences to how things go as well.

Musing #1

Spoiler:
She was brought on same as us, we just didn't see her...

Musing #2

Spoiler:
She was an established part of the crew

Musings #3

Spoiler:
We fish an injured female out of the ocean after we set sail

Male Half-orc

"I fear your desire for direct discourse shall still be met with no answers."

"Tis not ours to reason why?"

Male Half-orc

Constantine likewise saw all the different mazes of recruitment and secrecy as either necessary for the security of the venture or a potential sign of nefarious actions or preparations that may lead to problems later on.

Profession (sailor)
To know how far and which way we have come
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

"I guess we are ashore then, for breifly I assume before we set sail again, though on which ship and for what purpose I can not even guess."

Offers a brief laugh at the obvious shell-game the gnomes are playing.

He recalls the old maxium of strategy, when you need something on the field of battle, move everything as the enemy knows not what to watch.

Male Half-orc

"Tis a different thought that."
Smiles at the kobold.

Male Half-orc

Catching on the the clues of the beak and flock decides they must be mounts Maybe it is just how he thinks.....

"Were I ever to be in the market for a mount this appears to be the place, though I doubt I could afford such."

Male Half-orc

"Most curious if something is coming from the hold then this is not to be the ship's maiden voyage, technically anyway."

Male Half-orc

(Eternal understanding trait)
Knowledge (any) DC 15 or less
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 Arcane

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Profession (sailor) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

The ship reminds him of the time he spent learning how ships operate, he casts a careful eye on everything from the sailors to the rigging.....

Trying to evaluate the sea-worthiness of the ship itself from a closer view....

"Avast so we are to set sail?"

Male Half-orc

Approaches the others......

"I am Constantine....."

"Say guys, and lady I only got two gold coins left to my name, so the discount does not benefit me overmuch, I am willing to lend it to anyone else who might be a bit shy of buying something he or she really wants."

Looks at the others....

Male Half-orc

Constantine goes through the door his faith that the clerical spell granted from his own diety will not cause him harm...

"Easy enough then."

Male Half-orc

Continuing to create drama.....

DM

Spoiler:
I wonder if those priests are going to geas me into doing the right thing or give me a pass. Maybe they will tell me something....I can't wait to see what happens : )

Male Half-orc

Constantine moves forwards slowly towards the cleric as he does so he brings into view his holy symbol of Abadar also.

Speaks softly to the priest, not wanting to make a public speech
"Greetings high priest I am Constantine GodAlming paladin and emissary of Abadar, I trust that you will do nothing to harm me and that Abadar would not allow me to come to harm through his agents."

"I also trust that should I need future atonement as result of this geas that I may come to you for correction without charge?"

Male Half-orc

Everything is going fine as far as I can tell. Probably go smoother once we all are in the same place.

Male Half-orc

Sense Motive 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

"I will give it a look, maybe it is secret because it is dangerous, if that is the case I hope I can prevent harm of evil intention or foolishness."

Right now I am thinking this ship is going to bring back King Kong.....maybe it's just me..

Male Half-orc

"So you will hire me to discover the secret first and foremost whom comprises the consortium or was some other secret you hoped to obtain?, such as where the ship is going or what it's cargo will be?"

"I will have your word that you intend no harm to befall any from information."

Male Half-orc

"Aye to earning coin, but I will come by my coin honestly, in honest service to a cause or purpose or person of character."

Male Half-orc

"I am perhaps a bit strange to those who take on crew from ports or even send press-gangs in looking for new crew. I just can not place myself in service to any who are not of good quality and upmost character."

Constantine is relieved when the food arrives, the hearty stew is not so adventurous or spicy, but it is both salted and peppered to perfection.....

"You know Svetlana, I am really trying to enjoy your company. I thought maybe you could tell me some more about you."

"Oh.. me? I'm just a girl about town." Her smile is bright and as honest as a lead coin. Her eyes remain focused on Constantine.

"So, I heard your questions to Marin. I've heard some things, listened to talk. What might your interest be?"

Sense Motive 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Obviously all my skills are off due to a certain distraction

"You know the usual seeking my fortune, making the world a better place, settling down....eventually."

"I was trying to see about passage on the fancy ship, but I am selective about who I work with, I do not sign blind contracts with faceless entities."

Male Half-orc

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

"You know Svetlana, I am really trying to enjoy your company. I thought maybe you could tell me some more about you."

Male Half-orc

"I apologize for the misunderstanding."

"I would enjoy your company, very much."

Heads towards the more private booth.....

Male Half-orc

"Not at all. I am not so forward or so experienced as that."

Male Half-orc

"Well miss miss, oh I am sorry where are my manners, what was your name?"

Insert pause for answer here....

"I am Constantine.....I am not sure I can afford you."

Male Half-orc

"That sounds like a fine dish I was hoping more for a hearty stew with tender beef, potatos, carrots a thick broth and a loaf of bread. I am a man of fairly simple tastes."

.....Constantine half expects a bruiser boyfriend to appear in a fit of rage, or whomever she is in trouble with....

Male Half-orc

"Hello...care to join me?"

Constantine surveys the busy tavern hoping that one of the things he smells is either pot roast or ham.......

Male Half-orc

"Aye! I met a pair of goons, I will not sign on with consortiums or groups that remain nameless and faceless I work only with those upon whose countenance I might gaze."

Laughs along with the patrons when he hears a particularly funny joke...
Takes a seat...
"I will have a drink."

Male Half-orc

Constantine heads toward the docks and the nearest tavern certain he can locate the captain of such a vessel with little difficulty....
under his breath he thinks that he should at least know if the Captain is worth serving with.

He walks into the tavern "I am looking for the Captain of the ship."

If no answer he will go down to the docks and speak with the dock-hands loading the ship.

said stuff

The pair at the door glance to one another, both not relaxing.

"Right. Work you want, is it?" The guard asks. "Know something about ships, then?" He points out to Constantine. "Or is there something else you think you can offer a employer?" The guard's voice is... possibly louder than one might think given the distance between the three. Perhaps the fellow is not quite sure of Constantine's grasp of common yet?

"You fail to understand I determine for whom I work and for what cause, not the other way around."

Constantine tiring of the indirect route steps off towards the ship itself.

Male Half-orc

"I seek, I find, I restore, I redeem, I detain, I destroy."

"I intend to enter here and find suitable employe."

"Do you mean to keep me out?"

Male Half-orc

still working on this one....expect crunch to be final in a few days

Male Half-orc

"Indeed!"

Points to the mighty ship in the harbor with his index finger and then to the center of his chest with the thumb of the same hand curling his fingers as he does so.....

Male Half-orc

A man approachs he has a definitive soundness about him a finely crafted boarding axe, a longsword, and a whip hang upon his belt. His armored coat, armored kilt and large wooden shield all speak of experience.....

Those who look closely note wooden armor in his pack, yet he also shows no hint or symbol or sign if where he has been or where he may be going.

Wordlessly he walks to the door.

Male Half-orc

A work in progress but here none the less.
