Cole dodges the worst of the foul smelling concoction grumbling under his breath, "Why do they always insist on doing it the hard way?" He then moves up to engage the alchemist positioning himself to flank with Alanthain, and swings his blade at the foul man! Attack Longsword 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 2 = 21flank

![]() Cole knew this encounter would most likely end in violence, but still he had to at least make an attempt here to forestall it. Besides, this gentleman may be able to shed some light as to what is causing the dead to stir. "Excuse us for interrupting your...work. We just wanted to ask you some questions." ![]() Cole inwardly winces at the bravado display from Lord Thorin. Well, that's one way to announce yourself to the enemy... He reaches down and grasps his holy symbol, mutters a swift prayer to Iomedae, marvelling at how easier the words flowed from his lips. Thorin feels a sense of anticipation, causign him to react faster than normal. Cole uses granted power Seize the Initiative on Lord Thorin.

![]() Cole moved forward next to Alanthain. "Since we need to bypass this trap to deal with whatever lurks beyond it, let me assist you." He then touches the rogue, and infuses him with Iomedae's touch of Law. Touch of Law (Sp): You can touch a willing creature as a standard action, infusing it with the power of divine order and allowing it to treat all attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1 round as if the natural d20 roll resulted in an 11. ![]()
![]() Cole, blocked from the action, can only watch helplessly as the skeletons attack his companions. Still, he could contribute in other ways. He reaches to touch Alanthain and infuses him with the Touch of Law. Heh...I built Cole originally when I just started playing PF...and did a lot of 3.5 mistakes, stuff like that. Good catch there. Will save is +7. ![]()
![]() Earlier... Cole spent most of the time in the crypt talking with Lady Saorise, making sure her spirits are still high. He also will make small talk with Alanthain, as he has taken a liking to the rogue. Still, being trapped in a crypt for such a long time is nerve-wracking and when Catila motions to light up the pebble, he is all too happy to oblige. ![]()
![]() Cole resists the urge to sweep Saorise in a comforting hug when he sees the look on her face. Ach, she has been through too much. He sighs and rubs the stubble on his face before he responds tiredly, "You were assaulted by those foul ghouls, and they...they nearly killed you..." His voice breaks, and then he finishes up rushing the words out of his mouth, "...and they infected you with ghoul fever." ![]()
![]() Cole nods at the exuberance of Brankh, and responds ”Yeah, I think we could ALL use a drink at this point, but only a swig. Lady Saorise needs all of us to work together in order for her, and all of us to survive! Thorin, I know this place is not the accommodations you may be used to, but unless we waste the chimes power, we are stuck here. Once we have exhausted our divine abilities, we need to rest.” ![]()
![]() Cole stares quietly at the still form of Lady Saorise, fighting back feelings of depression that threaten to overwhelm him. While he does not respond visibly to Lord Thorin's lament, it is clear to the others that, judging by the look on Cole's face, he shares the same sentiment. Finally, he rouses himself and says quietly to the others, "We have to rouse her, despite the ghoul fever. Let me try to waken her..." He brandishes his holy symbol of Iomedae, shared by Saorise, and calls on her power to flood the crypt with its healing light. Channel Energy heal 1d6 ⇒ 4 all within 30'
Once done, he leans agains a wall and mutters "We should be thinkin' of resting soon." ![]()
![]() Cole gently lays Saorise down on the floor of the main cathedral next to the statue, using his pack as an impromptu pillow. He examines her, making sure she is comfortable, but able to do little to cure her as he has already expended his healing spells. He recalls the healing potions provided by Lady Valanthe, but since Saorise is currently paralyzed, any attempt to feed her the potion would be more harmful than helpful. He struggles to recall stories about the ghouls and their paralyzing touch, most notably the duration of said effects. Knowledge Religion 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 ![]()
![]() Catila, was Saorise grappled by the ghoul? I did not see any grapple roll by the ghoul, unless they automatically grapple any foe they paralyze. HK's call here, I would say.
![]()
![]() Cole nods at Lord Thorin's command and shifts his sword to his shield hand so he can grab Lady Saorise and pull her away from the slavering ghoul. Forgive me Saorise! The though runs through his mind as his hand grasps her waist, and guides her gently into his arms. I assume this would be a grapple check, but since Saorise is paralyzed Cole should automatically succeed. Assuming he does, he will pull Saorise into his own square and then out of the crypt. ![]()
![]() I assume no one wants the Touch of Law that Cole offers...in that case, he will change his actions.... Cole mutters under his breath in response to Saorise's exclamation, "Apparently not." He then moves up behind her, and readies his own weapon to strike at the ghoul, should an opening present itself. Move into position behind Saorise.

![]() By the Nine Hells, could you be more specific?" Cole grumbles. He readies his own weapon, and says quietly to the others, "I can grant a touch of Law to a willing target, which removes chance from your nex chosen action. Anyone interested?" Cole is offering to use the Granted Power: Touch of Law (Sp): You can touch a willing creature as a standard action, infusing it with the power of divine order and allowing it to treat all attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws for 1 round as if the natural d20 roll resulted in an 11. He will use this on the first player who agrees to this. ![]()
![]() Cole gasps as he feels the fire of Saranae wash over him, soon followed by the cooling light of his own goddess. He feels a vague sense of satisfaction with him so far and silently resolves to help the group, especially Lady Saorise, in any way possible. Cole shrugs as he turns his attention to the next statue, "Are you ready Alanthain?" he asks, readying his sword for whatever lays inside. ![]()
![]() Cole starts at the news these were actually Hellspawned creatures. He glances behind him to see if Saorise is ready to join the fray, and decides to help Lord Thorin out. He steps behind the cavalier, and lays his hand on the pommel of the sword he is wielding. "This should help you strike these foul spawn!" Round 3:

![]() Cole shakes his head on hearing about the various Runelords recited by Catila, as the names meant nothing to him. Once Catila ppoints out the value of the jewelry, he glances towards the bodies and nods slowly to her, "It should be all right, these bodies do not have any necromantic taint to them." He glances towards the rear of the crypt, "There might be another hidden door back there as well." ![]()
![]() Cole stands at the entrance of the crypt, and resolutely focuses his mind on the bodies and the potential dangers they represent. ![]() Cole cannot help but glance at both Lady Saorise, and Catila, as the blush has returned full force to his face. Trying to distract himself from certain...thoughts...that keep intruding in his head, he glances up at the ceiling while muttering, I wonder if there is anything else in this...place." Perception 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 ![]()
![]() Cole notices the grooves in the floor next to each statue. He stares around him at the other statues, although their historical significance escapes him, he realizes they are key to the mystery of this chamber. "I think the statues are actually doors that lead to separate areas, linked to who the statue represents. We just took a back door route, if you will." He points to the north door, "Since the other doors probably lead back to the entry chamber, I suggest we head north." He pauses, "Unless we can figure out how to move the statues, that is." He looks at Catila, "Do you think magic is required here?" ![]()
![]() Cole looks around the chamber, and when he hears Brankh’s exclamation, he nods grimly. ”So, this whole place is a Thassilonian ruin. Wonderful. At least I can see why Svilennius Tripe is interested in this place.” He shakes his head at Brankh’s question, ”I did not pray for that orison this morning.”
