Male Human Fighter 1

"S'abit creepy here," Clyde remarks.

Male Human Fighter 1

"Do you want us to wait with the cart?" Clyde asks.

Male Human Fighter 1

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Male Human Fighter 1

"Fair enough," Clyde says, taking bites of his meal.

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde takes a key. "I will see you in the morning."

He adjusts his pack and heads to the room indicated on the key.

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde yawns. "Wouldn't hurt to try our luck."

Male Human Fighter 1

A few minutes later, Clyde emerges from the back. "Are we ready then?"

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde nods in agreement. "Let's get cleaned up and see how far we can get before the sun sets. I don't think we want to be on the road in the dark."

Male Human Fighter 1

"I'm sure if we came across a city, we could get a map there," Clyde says. "But it's all countryfolk around here."

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde nods, holding the door open for everyone. "Can't let too much time slip away."

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde opts to walk as they move through town. He looks down at the ground. "Must have taken Maynard a long time to inscribe every stone."

Male Human Fighter 1

22 for me.

Male Human Fighter 1

"Guess the old priest ought to have reinforced the walls," Clyde mutters.

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde also takes stock of the surroundings.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Male Human Fighter 1

"You'd figure a place like this would've been better kept."

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde opens the door to the manor and peers inside.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Male Human Fighter 1

"I'll go ahead...just in case," Clyde offers.

Male Human Fighter 1

"Glenshire sounds better," Clyde remarks. "They probably realized that at some point."

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde points to the building that caught his attention. "It...the carriage has been through here, but no one seems affected. I think we need to look there."

Male Human Fighter 1

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Male Human Fighter 1

"This is all new for me," Clyde says. "I agree that we're going to need some direction soon, though. We're looking for a cleric who's probably long dead in some town that isn't around here...all for a clue that might help with dealing with that carriage."

He sighs. "Wherever it is now..."

Male Human Fighter 1

"We'll see you in a while then."

Male Human Fighter 1

"We better rest up," Clyde says. "Maybe we can get an early start."

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde lets out a contented sigh as he comes in from the chilly air.

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde rubs his arms as they walk, trying to get some warmth into him. "Hope we find a shop in the next town. I could use a warmer cloak."

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde returns a few minutes later, a dour look on his face. "I hope dinner is hot."

Male Human Fighter 1

"Guess it's my turn then," Clyde says, getting up and heading to the bathroom.

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde gestures to Rosie.

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde whistles. "He changed his tune real fast."

Male Human Fighter 1

"We will...eventually," Clyde says, supportively. "This isn't some fairy tale where the problem is solved like that."

He snaps his fingers and the sound echoes in the church. Clyde briefly turns red out of embarrassment.

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde groans. "I think we ought to spend the night here. I don't think I could do any more without some food and sleep."

Male Human Fighter 1

Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

Clyde looks utterly lost. "Well, the town's over there, but how do we get back to it?"

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde pockets the brass ring and heads back out to the hall.

Male Human Fighter 1

"Think we ought to take that?" Clyde says, pointing at the brass ring.

Male Human Fighter 1

"Well, the gods will have to forgive me for this," Clyde says, setting his shoulder against the door. "But the more time we spend down here, the more time that carriage has to get away or hurt more people..."

Strength Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde shrugs and looks around as well.

22 for me.

Male Human Fighter 1

"Of course."

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde goes to try the handle.

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde sheathes his sword. "I agree."

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde steps forward and attacks the zombie that Aiden attacked.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 1 = 15; Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Male Human Fighter 1

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde wraps his legs around the rope and slowly drags himself across the chasm. "I hope there's another way out of here."

Male Human Fighter 1

"Well, this ring's been here a good long time," Clyde says, pointing out his discovery. "Might be the sturdiest thing on this side."

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde looks around, not sure what else to contribute.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Male Human Fighter 1

"I've got rope about as long as that gap," Clyde says.

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde wanders over to the pit. "I don't know if we can to the other side. We definitely can't jump this."

Male Human Fighter 1

"You sure didn't waste time flinging stones at them," Clyde remarks, sheathing his sword. "Though I'm glad you didn't."

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde moves over to flank with Shadow and attacks a little less recklessly this time.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 5 + 2 = 16; Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde rushes forward, drawing his blade in a downward arc against the skeleton that Rosie hit.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8

Or that's how Clyde would have liked it to go. Instead, he trips over his own feet and stumbles right in front of the undead horror, his blade loosely held in his hand.

Male Human Fighter 1

Clyde looks around warily.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

Scarab Sages

So I am starting to write a new home brew campaign. It is CG/NG based with a heavy Sheyln influence. I am looking at it being in three acts with Act 1 having the PC's play retrieval experts for missing and stolen pieces of art. Act 2 I see them being swept up in helping defend an extra planar "Library of Alexandria" type structure that holds not only knowledge but also priceless works of art from all across the cosmos. Act 3 has them trying to find a way to break the hold Zon-Kuthon has over his herald and attempt to restore it. I plan on having the PC's level about 4-5 levels per act.

What do others think of this? I am trying to breathe some fresh life into my campaigns so I thought I would see if anyone had any ideas or hooks or thoughts that they would be willing to share. If not no big deal. If you have a thought or two I would be very interested to hear it though. Thanks

Scarab Sages

Hopefully I can explain this. In my WotR campaign I have a PC who has Retributive reach. He says he always gets the AoO extended range and has to spend a mythic power to get the bonus to hit and damage. I say he has to spend the power to get the AoO reach AND the bonus. What do you guys think?

here is the wording:

Retributive Reach (Ex): Treat your reach as 5 feet greater than normal for the purpose of determining whether or not you can make an attack of opportunity. If a creature provokes an attack of opportunity within this area of increased reach, you can expend one use of mythic power to gain a bonus equal to your tier on the attack roll and damage roll of the attack of opportunity.
