Male Kobold Level 1 Pistolero/Level 3 Trench Fighter
![]() Now that I think of it, it probably does make sense I passed through the town. I was going into this thinking it'd be another bald-faced lie. :P Boom-Boom scans the village, looking through the buildings. "There it is." He points towards a large, long building off one of the main roads, a couple hundred yards away from the edge of town. "Looks like their revel's already over for the night. Must'a been a fair day at work for them all to retire early. But tha's that building where they all go to drink away their sorrows, guards too. You'll find more fightin' men there than you will in the undermanned watchtowers, but less chance of raising an alarm, an' more chance to find 'em unarmored or armed." Mostly going off of what makes the most sense to me for a tavern as to where I put it, but for reference, about how big is this village/town thingy? If it's small enough, I'd probably say it'd be near the center of town, otherwise just central enough to things that it'd make a large gathering area. ![]()

![]() Clashing takes a deep breath of air as he steps outside. "Smell it friends! This is the air of the outside world! Breath deep and enjoy the night's darkness! This is a good night, for a raid or for scouting!" Clearly, Boom-Boom is if anything more at home outdoors than in. Can't make that DC, but whatever, roll away! ![]() As the fight begins, Ipreek grins widely. After all, regardless of who won, he did! If Kax won, the glory and strength of the kobolds was proven, and Kax would prove himself reliable in the eventual destruction of these green pig-men. If Kax lost, it would be absolutely hilarious! ![]()
Male Kobold Level 1 Pistolero/Level 3 Trench Fighter
![]() Yeah, I was watching it go down just wondering what was going on! I see nothing! I'm at camp eating meat and hoping to see Kax get his face stomped on! I'm not seeing this unnervingly high number of spoilered post and seeing Grigg's HP go down! Nope! :) Boom-Boom nods at the obvious flattery, still looking confused. "Alright, guess we're only scouting tonight anyway." Shrugging, Boom-Boom turns back to matters at hand. ![]()

![]() Boom-Boom nods, "Well, we have our champion, you have yours. Lesee how the night's entertainment plays out, shall we?" As the words pass Ipreek's lips, he glances towards Griggs as he reenters the camp, and then in draconic sputters, "What? ...What? Where did you go?" ![]()

![]() Boom-Boom pats the hilt of one of his pistols, and reverses Kax's insinuation. "Me. But it is not good to kill ally unnecessarily. The 'clicks' and the 'booms' do not like prisoners. You should be our champion." I don't know how to deal non-lethal with firearms! :P ![]()
Male Kobold Level 1 Pistolero/Level 3 Trench Fighter
![]() Ipreek takes Grigg's declaration in stride, and once seeing that the kobold priest was already at work on taking care of the issue, turned back to matters at hand. First of which Boom-Boom shoots a glare at Kax, and declares. "They already proved their prowess in battle with how effectively they wiped out those goblins ye blind dolt!" Then, in Draconic, knowing that at least the chief will still understand, but figuring it's at least slightly more private. "Show respect, you're guest now." With that, Clashing Boom-Boom accepts the food gratefully, and courteously. As he does though, he ponders on the tone and attitude of the chieftain, questioning whether his eagerness to be shown the tavern was due to a lust for battle, or if he was testing Ipreek's story. Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 Sorry I was a bit slow in posting as of late you guys, unlike Clashing Boom-Boom, his player had not planned out all his bluffs on the trip over and it took me a bit more time than anticipated to come up with my story. ;) ![]()

![]() "There's a prize the master wants for himself of course, only let Scram, the blue one know 'xactly what that is. Other than that, there's a stash of weapons, see? That little devil king of theirs has apparently been using the town as a little supply depot. Got a secret stash of weapons and armor, all well made, most of 'em magic. Not anything o' legend, but still good stuff. Basically, our offer is a share of the loot, anything you want from the cache that's sized for your kind. Most of it is for their sneaks and assassins, so lot of it is smaller stuff, but anything that's big enough we don't care to use, ends up bein' your share." Ipreek crosses his fingers, "So how's 'at sound?" ![]()
Male Kobold Level 1 Pistolero/Level 3 Trench Fighter
![]() Ipreek shakes his head. "No, I have no place where they ALL will be. But this is a raid, not a invasion. We've just got to keep 'em held up long enough to get the job done. I'll point you in the right direction for the tavern, don't worry about that. And just leave the stragglers to me and my boys." Bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 ![]()

![]() Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Boom-Boom picks up the conversation again as talk turns to planning, now in Common given Murdit's switching to it. "Our plan at the moment is simple. We strike in the earlier hours of the night, when the drinkin' and the carousing will be in full swing at the tavern. This way, most of the defenders will be wobbly-legged, and gathered in one place that'll be easy for us to control the entrance of even with minimal numbers. As you and your tribe take the main attack, and hole 'em up here, we'll then make our move, go into the city, find what our glorious leader The Luminous One wants, and then we all fall back into the mountains. 'Fraid I can't say what the boss wants, y'see, Dragon's 'n their things, don't want that many to know about them." Boom-Boom shrugs helplessly. Now that they know of the Son of Chronepsis, that's two reasons they must die... but this is going to be harder than planned. ![]()

Male Kobold Level 1 Pistolero/Level 3 Trench Fighter
![]() Yeah, and he does have a light spell, so I'd say he goes ahead and uses it. After all, worse case scenario, and the rest of party is dazzled, not fun, but a -1 from Light Sensitivity isn't crippling. If we had Light Blindness, that's a whole different story. ![]()
Male Kobold Level 1 Pistolero/Level 3 Trench Fighter
![]() I'm having a hard time weighing in on this for you Scram, but I'd say go for it. We've all got characters good at various things, and while maybe one character or another should do xyz, I can't really advocate you taking a route that leaves your hands tied for who knows how long. I'll probably still try to take the lead in the negotiations, but I still want Scram to have more to do than just sit in the dark and let the adventure pass him by. At the least, we've got the option of Aid Another checks. so by all means light up the area, what you do from there is up to you. ![]()

![]() Clashing smiles viscerally. At least, he's pretty sure that's how you smile, hopefully the orcs get the intent at any rate. "Humans keep raiding tunnels, keep invading. We wish to strike back, defend home, take stuff, get slaves. We seek our allies to help us for share of what we find." ![]() Boom-Boom pulls the brace of pistols from his neck, and reholsters them, then sits directly across from the orc chieftain, making it clear that he is the one really to talk to. "Pleasure is mine, Murduts of the Murdits clan. I am Ipreek, known as Clashing Boom-Boom" the second name comes out in Common. "It is for battle, glory that we came to these halls, seeking you." Ipreek hopes that his own weak grasp of Draconic will be masked enough by the Orc's own unfamiliarity with the tongue. ![]()

![]() Clashing offers Kax a simple "Nice!" in Draconic as the final goblin around them gets shanked through the eye. Then as another arrow thunks into him rips another arrow from his armor, glad that he had the foresight to wear the arrow-catching design. Given his near immunity to their arrows, Boom-Boom charges into their ranks with abandon. "Come on ye' dandies! I've got more than enough for all of you!" Not sure if I can reach the archers starting at Kax's general location, but I'm a gonna try! Will charge if I got a straight shot line to try and it's needed to get an attack in. ![]() I think I see what he did there. The first time he used "Draconic Breath" the feat. The second time he used Dragonbreath the Domain ability. His wording indicates this as well as he does call them by different names, and the number of D6s changed from 2 to 3. ![]()

![]() Having discharged both pistols, Clashing Boom-Boom tosses the two guns over his shoulders, letting them dangle from the cord tying them into a brace from his neck. ![]() Not as of yet, the goblins have spent this turn circling the party and seem to be getting ready to charge, but haven't gone into close range as of yet. Kax is attempting to get into meleeish range, but I'm not sure if he can reach them this round short of a charge. ![]()

![]() No worries, everyone makes those mistakes and it's better that everyone can trust we're all playing on the up and up rather than weasel our ways out of things and turn the game into a GM v. Players business. :) Though Ipreek is actually still okay, between his DR 3 against small piercing projectiles thanks to the Quilted Cloth Armor, and the 7 healing, I just barely return to no damage even with the crit being pretty nasty. ![]()
Male Kobold Level 1 Pistolero/Level 3 Trench Fighter
![]() Clashing rips an arrow out of his shirt and tosses it disdainfully to the ground. "Is that all!?" Hooray for Quilted Cloth DR! Though it appears you got a crit chance against me Larkin, do you want to roll that? I think Grigg's healing will cover a confirm regardless, but figured it's at least in good taste to make sure you're aware of it. ![]() Hey everyone, just dropping this message in all my games. I'm heading into the mountains on a camping trip come tomorrow, and I'm going to be entirely off the grid as it were. I won't get back till sometime Sunday afternoon. Bot me as needed, and I'll see you all when I get back. ![]()

![]() Ipreek switches from the veiled uncertainty of his sense of direction to a confident reply to Grigg's question. "I'll open the conversation, see if they speak common by asking them a question myself. If they answer, we'll continue that way. If they can't, we'll make use of brother Scram and have him negotiate in that pig-grunting of a language. Hopefully the first ones we meet won't know common, that way we can use Scram to negotiate and then we won't have to worry about them raising an alarm to our tricks." While not specifically letting them lead per se, Boom-Boom does confer with the others, letting anyone who thinks they have an idea of where to go to have a voice to speak with. ![]()

![]() 16 should be right. 10+4 Dex+4 BAB-1 Str-1 Size, unless I'm missing something. And by all means, feel free to carry on. I generally prefer a party to form out of a rather dissident group. Always bothers me when a group of people who supposedly don't know each other start working like a well-oiled machine right off the bat. A smooth working party is something that should be worked for in my opinion. Clashing's eyes sense the movement in Kax's shadow and slips out of the way. Old reflexes die hard it seems, Boom-Boom was always on guard around the pirates for such tom-foolery. Looking back at Kax for a moment, Ipreek seems to think better of actually retaliating as Kax falls in line. Trip: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Or so he initially acted like as he turned around, then flicked at Kax's legs with his tail and knocks Kax just off balance enough to trip him. Then in an odd gesture, Clashing leans down and offers a hand to Kax, hoping that the more Ipreek shows a bit more of a thuggish brutality, the more Kax will fall in line willingly and less out of demand. Not letting his eyes stray from Kax, Ipreek speaks "Thank you for gift Soom, and greetings Yraalik, we move on orcs as soon as we're ready. Are you prepared?" ![]()

![]() Ipreek lets a sneer play out through the flicking of his tail as Kax talks more. At the obvious attempt to command, Boom-Boom holds his ground. "Yes, let us. Follow me." Boom-Boom doesn't budge as he waits for Kax to fall back in line before heading in the appropriate direction. ![]()

![]() Boom-Boom sniffs indignantly and slaps his tail against the ground. "If my lord gives a 'token of luck' then I trust his words, you seem to have difficulty doing that." Ipreek slaps away the finger from his chest. "How the faithless like you gain his favor is a mystery."
